The Behavior of the {311} Facet in the Selective Epitaxial Growth of Si(100)

The behavior of the f311g facet, which is observed in the selective epitaxial growth (SEG) of Si(100), is investigated by ab initio calculations and by tight-binding calculations by using the environment-dependent tight-binding Si potential. The most stable structure of the f311g facet in the long range order is found to be 3 2 interstitial structure by the calculation of the surface energy. By comparing maximum binding energies of adatoms on various structures of Si(311), it is found that the phase transition observed at 700 C is the transition from the 3 2 interstitial to the 3 1 interstitial structure and the phase transition is responsible for the behavior of the f311g facet. By tight-binding molecular dynamics simulation, it is also conrmed that the transition from the 3 2 interstitial to the 3 1 interstitial structure is induced by an adatom at high temperature, and it corresponds to the transition from the 3 2 to the 3 1 phase of the Si(311) surface observed in experiment. s
변형적 Carpentier 방법에 의한 Ebstein 기형의 수술적 교정 -1 례 보고-

Ebstein 기형은 복잡 심기형중 하나로 치료 또한 비정상적인 삼첨판막의 교정 또는 판막치환 등으로 방법이 다양하다. 이질환의 병리소견은 삼첨판의 중격엽과 후엽이 하방전위되어서 심방화된 심실을 형성하는 것으로 수술적 목표는 삼첨판의 기능이상을 교정하고 심방화된 우심실을 주름성형하는 것이다. 본원에서는 매우 심한 삼첨판막 폐쇄 부전증이 동반된 Carpentier type A의 Ebstein기형으로 진단된 12개월된 여아에 대해 심방화된 우심실을 수직방향으로 주름성형하고 판막을 새로이 형성된 판륜에 재부착시키는 이른바 변형적 Carpentier방법으로 성공적으로 수술하였다. 수술후 환아는 심장의 크기가 매우 줄어들었고 심초음파상 미미한 정도의 삼첨판 폐쇄부전증만 남아 술후 14일째 퇴원하였다. Ebstein's anomaly is a complex malformation that can be treated by various surgical techniques, either repair or replacement of the abnormal tricuspid valve, with variable results. The essence of the malformation is the downward displacement of the septal and posterior leaflets into the ventricle, resulting in the formation of an atrialized portion of the right ventricle. The aim of surgical repair is to correct the tricuspid valve dysfunction and to plicate the atrialized portion of the right ventricle A 12-months old female was admitted with the diagnosis of Carpentier type A of Ebstein's anomaly with severe tricuspid regurgitation. She successfully underwent operation with vertical plication of right ventricle and reimplantation of tricuspid leaflets. Postoperatively cardiac size was significantly reduced and tricuspid regurgitation was trivial in echocardiography. She was diacharged the 14th postoperative day.
정수처리 공정에서 용존 유기물질 분류에 의한 haloacetic acid 생성능 평가

A comprehensive fractionation technique was applied to a set of water samples obtained along drinking water treatment process with ozonation and biological activated carbon (BAC) process to obtain detailed profiles of dissolved organic matter (DOM) and to evaluate the haloacetic acid (HAA) formation potentials of these DOM fractions. The results indicated that coagulation-sedimentation-sand filtration treatment showed limited ability to remove hydrophilic fraction (28%), while removal of hydrophobic and transphilic fraction were 57% and 40%, respectively. And ozonation and BAC treatment showed limited ability to remove hydrophobic fractions (6%), while removal of hydrophilic and transphilic fractions were 25% and 18%. The haloacetic acid formation potential (HAAFP)/dissolved organic carbon (DOC) of hydrophilic fraction was the highest along the treatment train and HAAFP/DOC of hydrophilic fraction was higher than hydrophobic and transphilic fraction as 23%∼30%, because of better removal for hydrophobic fraction both in concentration and reactivity.
선박 추진축계의 임계 속도 및 휘돌림 응답에 관한 연구

In the present study the lateral vibration characteristics of marine propeller shafts are investigated. As a solution method the transfer matrix method is employed to calculate the critical speeds and the whirling response of a marine propeller shaft. The modelling procedure was also developed, From numerical results, it was found that the elliptical motion and the backward whirling response can be caused by asymmetric stiffness of the oil film. Furthermore, in the case of marine propeller shaft the critical speed is sensitive to the position and the supporting conditions of the journal bearings.
