Draft genome sequence of Bacteroides sp. KGMB 02408 isolated from a healthy Korean feces

Bacteroides 속 균주들은 척추동물의 분변 등에서 분리된 것으로 알려져 있다. 본 연구에서는 건강한 한국인 분변으로부터 Bacteroides sp. KGMB 02408 균주를 분리하였으며 PacBio Sequel 플랫폼을 이용하여 Bacteroides sp. KGMB 02408 균주의 유전체서열을 분석하였다. 유전체는 G + C 구성 비율이 39.5%이고, 5,005개의 유전자와 rRNA 18개 tRNA 74개로 구성되었으며, 염색체의 크기는 5,771,427 bp였다. 또한, 유전체 분석 결과를 통해 산화-환원 효소와 메나퀴논 생합성 및 그와 관련된 다양한 유전자를 발견하였다. The genus of Bacteroides has been isolated from vertebrate animal feces. Bacteroides sp. KGMB 02408 was isolated from fecal samples obtained from a healthy Korean. The wholegenome sequence of Bacteroides sp. KGMB 02408 was analyzed using the PacBio Sequel platform. The genome comprises a 5,771,427 bp chromosome with a G + C content of 39.50%, 5,005 total genes, 18 rRNA genes, and 74 tRNA genes. Furthermore, we found that strain KGMB 02408 had some genes for oxidoreductases and menaquinone biosynthesis in its genome based on the result of genome analysis.

Objective This study was designed to define the efficacy of medicinal herbs of Taeeumin in Sasang constitutional medicine. Method We searched and analyzed original text such as Donguisusebowon Sinchuk edition written in 1901, Donguisusebowon Gabo edition written in 1894, Donguisusebowon Sansang Chobongwon, and posthumous manuscripts left by Je-ma Lee published by the Ministry of Health of North Korea. Results Seven herbs such as Ephedrae Herba, Coicis Semen, Castaneae Semen, Fel Ursi, Mori Cortex Radicis, Ginkgonis Semen, and Farfarae Flos regulate the mechanism of Esophagus-Cold (Wiwanhan). Three herbs such as Melonis Pedicellus, Ailanthi Radicis Cortex, and Quisqualis Fructus regulate the mechanism of Cold Lung-Dry (HanpaeJo). Sixteen herbs such as Rhei Rhizoma, Angelicae Tenuissimae Radix, Puerariae Radix, Cimicifugae Rhizoma, Angelicae Dahuricae Radix, Moschus, Gleditsiae Spina, Mume Fructus, Aurum, Glycine Semen Germinatum, Ampelopsis Radix, Cornu rhinocerotis, Antelopis Cornu, Bomeolum, Bezoar Bovis, and Typhae Pollen regulate the mechanism of Liver-Heat (Ganyeol). Three herbs such as Chrysanthemi Indici Flos, Nelumbinis Semen, and Spirodelae Herba regulate the mechanism of Heat Lung-Dry (YeolpaeJo). Conclusion Forty four herbs of Taeeumin regulate the mechanisms of Esophagus-Cold (Wiwanhan), Cold Lung-Dry (HanpaeJo), Liver-Heat (Ganyeol), Heat Lung-Dry (YeolpaeJo) and correct the energy-fluid pathology of Taeeumin.

Objectives: This study aimed to find out the origin, efficiency in sasang constitutional medicine and dosage of Mu tong. Methods: Investigation and analysis was been done through 15 literatures like the pharmacopoeia of the five countries in east Asia, the literatures about sasang constitutional medicine and so on. Results and conclusion: The species of Mu tong in Korea is identical with the Mu tong in China, but different from Chuan mu tong and Guan mu tong in China. Mu tong is a kind of medicine using by kidney can be use at most 12 qian (about 45g) a day when treating heat closing in small intestine, edema, headache, dysentery and difficult urination on Soyangin(SY).
A Simple Model to Predict the Hydraulic Jump Location in a Not Fully Filled Horizontal Pipe Flow

Hydraulic jump is a local nonuniform flow phenomenon which occurs when the supercritical flow decelerates to a subcritical flow. It may be seen from a not fully filled pipe flow equation that when the Froude number of the fluid approaches unity with a value greater than 1, the differential variation of the fluid level in the direction of the flow becomes infinity. The result, then, is a marked discontinuity on the surface, characterized by the steep upward slope of the profile. In this study, a simple concept where the excessive energy of the supercritical flow is set equal to the energy dissipated by the wall friction is suggested to predict the location of the jump in a pipe flow. Then the location of the jump is simply determined by using the Manning formula. The feasibility of this concept is confirmed indirectly through an evaluation of the water level distribution of the reactor coolant during a mid-loop operation in a real reactor plant.
