Purpose: To examine the refractive errors, retinal manifestations, and genotype in tuberous sclerosis complex (TSC) patients in a Korean population. Materials and Methods: A total of 98 patients with TSC were enrolled in Severance Hospital for a retrospective cohort study. The number of retinal astrocytic hamartoma and retinal achromic patch within a patient, as well as the size, bilaterality, and morpho logical type were studied. In addition, the refractive status of patients and the comorbidity of intellectual disability and epilepsy were also examined. Results: Retinal astrocytic hamartoma was found in 37 patients, and bilateral invasion was observed in 20 patients (54%). TSC1 mutation was associated with myopia (p=0.01), while TSC2 mutation was associated with emmetropia (p=0.01). Retinal astrocytic hamartoma was categorized into three morphological types and examined as follows: type I (87%), type II (35%), and type III (14%). Single invasion of retinal astrocytic hamartoma was identified in 32% of the patients, and multiple invasions in 68%. The TSC1/TSC2 detection rate was 91% (41/45). Among them, TSC1 variant was detected in 23 patients (54%), whereas TSC2 variant was detected in 18 patients (40%). The results showed that TSC2 mutations are correlated with a higher rate of retinal astrocytic ham artoma involvement (all p<0.05), and multiple and bilateral involvement of retinal hamartomas (all p<0.05). However, the size of retinal astrocytic hamartomas, comorbidity of epilepsy, or intellectual disability did not show correlation with the genetic variant. Conclusion: TSC1 variant patients were more myopic, while TSC2 variant patients showed association with more extensive in volvement of retinal astrocytic hamartoma.
인형진단평가에 나타난 또래 관계 어려움을 호소하는 중학생의 심리적 특성: 학교상담실을 방문한 중학생을 대상으로

본 연구는 인형진단평가에 나타난 또래 관계 어려움을 호소하는 중학생의 자기인식, 타인인식의 인식 차원과 가족 관계, 또래 관계의 관계 차원을 상징체계 분석을 통해 이들이 경험한 상징적 의미와 공통적으로 나타나는 심리적 특성을 파악하고자 하였다. 이를 위해 중학교 상담실에서 또래 관계 어려움의 문제로 상담 경험이 있는 중학생 20명을 대상으로 인형진단평가를 실시하였다. 분석 결과 자기인식 상징체계는 자신을 돌봄 받고 사랑받고 싶은 의존의 존재로 인식하거나 위축되고 수동적이며 폐쇄적인 자신을 방어하며 열악한 환경에서 잘 버티고 있는 생존의 자기인식으로 나타났다. 둘째, 타인인식의 수 상징체계는 양육강식의 세상에서 압도당하거나 위협을 느끼는 혼란과 갈등의 부정적인 타인인식으로 나타났다. 셋째, 가족관계는 목적지향형, 우회보호형, 고립형, 세대단절형의 역기능적 가족 형태로 나타났다. 넷째, 또래 관계구조는 목적지향형, 분열형, 원형의 관계유형으로 나타났다. 연구 결과 부정적 자기인식, 타인인식, 원활하지 못한 또래 관계는 역기능적 가족관계 유형과 유사한 관계 패턴으로 역기능적 가족 관계가 또래 관계 형성에 부정적 영향을 미치고 있음을 시사한다. The purpose of this study is to conduct the symbolic system analysis on psychological personalities of middle school students with peer relationship problems found in figure diagnostic evaluation. The results are presented as follows: Firstly, in terms of the self–awareness symbolic system, they were aware of themselves as the dependent being who wants to be cared for and loved, or as the survival being who defends themselves with withdrawn, passive, and closed–mind personalities and well endures poor environments. Secondly, in terms of the other– awareness symbolic system, they had the negative other–awareness of confusion and conflict arising in the way of feeling overwhelmed and threatened by the world with the law of the jungle. Thirdly, regarding the family relationship, they had dysfunctional family types: goal–oriented type, roundabout protective type, isolation type, and generation–gap type. Fourthly, the relation structure had three types: goal–oriented type, division type, and round type.

Purpose: To evaluate the accuracy of the Kane formula for intraocular lens (IOL) power calculation in comparison with existing formulas by incorporating optional variables into calculation. Materials and Methods: This retrospective review consisted of 78 eyes of patients who had undergone uneventful phacoemulsification with intraocular implantation at Severance Hospital in Seoul, Korea between February 2020 and January 2021. The Kane formula was compared with six of the existing IOL formulas (SRK/T, Hoffer-Q, Haigis, Holladay1, Holladay2, Barrett Universal II) based on the mean absolute error (MAE), median absolute error (MedAE), and the percentages of eyes within prediction errors of ±0.25D, ±0.50D, and ±1.00D. Results: The Barrett Universal II formula demonstrated the lowest MAEs (0.26±0.17D), MedAEs (0.28D), and percentage of eyes within prediction errors of ±0.25D, ± 0.50D, and ±1.00D, although there was no statistically significant difference between Barrett Universal II-SRK/T (p=0.06), and Barrett Universal II-Kane formula (p<0.51). Following the Barrett Universal II formula, the Kane formula demonstrated the second most accurate formula with MAEs (0.30±0.19D) and MedAEs (0.28D). However, no statistical difference was shown between Kane-Barrett Universal II (p=0.51) and Kane-SRK/T (p=0.14). Conclusion: Although slightly better refractory outcome was noted in the Barrett Universal II formula, the performance of the Kane formula in refractive prediction was comparable in IOL power calculation, marking its superiority over many conventional IOL formulas, such as HofferQ, Haigis, Holladay1, and Holladay2.

Dental porcelain should have adequate strength and similar esthetics as natural teeth. Recently esthetics has become a high priority in clinical dentistry. Thus the evaluation of color stability of dental porcelain has become an important part in dental research. The purpose of this study was to evaluate the difference in color stability of 3 types of porcelain(Vintage, VMK 95, CERAMCO II). The porcelain were divided into groups by 2 types of treatment(glazing or non-glazing and thermocycling or non-thermocycling). The porcelain were dyed with methylene blue and distilled water, and then the color stability was evaluated with a spectrophotometer The results were as follows; 1. The color change of porcelain increased in the order of VMK 95, Vintage, CERAMCO II. But there was no significant difference. 2. The color change decreased in the glazing group compared to the non-glazing group(p<0.05). 3. The color change increased after thermocycling But there was no significant difference. 4. The color change according to dye method was significantly larger with methylene blue copared to distilled water(p<0.05).
BIM기반 생산성 향상을 위한 설계구축성 평가 적용 연구

Modern construction projects are becoming complex, high-rise and diversified. Reviewing construction productivity in the initial design phase can have the effect of minimizing construction time, cost and maximizing productivity. Korea’s construction industry is aging and falling labor productivity compared to labor input. The adoption of BIM is accelerating due to the development of IT technology. Buildability is proposed as alternatives to improving construction productivity in the design phase. The purpose of the chapter is to derive appropriate buildability assessment categories in Korea and to verify the applicability of BIM-based buildability evaluation. The study of buildability, which can be found to be effective both in terms of production and economics, is insufficient. Therefore, this study derived categories of evaluation suitable for Korea based on BIM. In addition, the possibility of evaluation of buildability was verified by utilizing the BIM model.

Floral scent emitted from many plants is the key factor for pollinator attraction and defense for survival in nature and is important industrial materials for perfumery as well. It is a complex mixture of various organic molecules with a high volatility or a high vapor pressure. In general,floral scents are divided into three categories, aliphatics,terpenoids, and phenylpropanoids/benzenoids, based on its origin. About 1,700 scent compounds have been identified and their biochemistry and molecular biology also have elucidated their biosynthesis from various flowering plants during the last ten years. In addition to improvement of vase life, flower color and shape, and/or disease resistance, floral scent is coming up to the major breeding target for improvement of marketability. Therefore, metabolic engineering can be an important tool in near future and may be able to facilitate the breeding program for novel cultivar selection and improvement of marketability of floricultural crops.
