Advanced glycation end products(AGEs) are largly involved in the pathogenesis of diabetic complications. It is obvious that inhibition of AGEs formation is important in preventing the occurrence and progression of diabetic complications. Therefore, to seek possible AGEs inhibitors in herbal medicines, unprocessed - und processed Puerariae Radix were tested. The inhibitory effect on AGEs formation was slightly increased through processing. Unprocessed-, processed Puerariae Radix and puerarin showed potential inhibitory action than that of positive control, amino guanidine HCI.

The Effects and processing methods of Rhei Rhizoma from Donguibogam and Chejungsinpyeon were studied, Through the study, we found 21 kinds of processing method of Rhei Rhizoma in Donguibogam and Chejungsinpyeon, Processing methods used in Donguibogam and Chejungsinpyeon were effective from reducing side effects of Rhei Rhizoma, and were safe in clinical application, the aims of processing methods of Rhie Rhizoma were safer application by reducing poisonous character, and increase the range of clinical application by useing 21 kinds of processing methods.
방류용 수산종묘의 수산생물 병원체 검출 동향 (2009~2012)

Hatchery-reared seeds provides a key source of animal protein for human consumption and restocking for fishery management. For stock enhancement program, we have inspected the hatchery-reared seeds of 33 species in 2009, 44 species in 2010, 43 species in 2011 and 46 species in 2012 for legally designated diseases. Results showed that abalone was the most abundant in the marine species group and then sea cucumber, olive flounder, rockfish and swimming crab were followed. Crucian carp was the most abundant and then mandarin fish, Korean bullhead, melanian snail and Chinese mitten crab were followed in the freshwater species group. The number of inspection for black sea bream, rock bream, scorpionfish, black scraper, and eel has continuously decreased for four years. The inspection for flathead mullet has been carried out only in 2009. The total number of inspection cases for eight pathogens in this study were 8,476 and disqualification cases were 56 (0.67%) by detection of aquatic animals pathogens such as koi herpesvirus, white spot syndrome virus, red sea bream iridovirus or viral haemorrhagic septicemia virus.
매복 미맹출 상악 중절치의 외과적 노출과 교정력을 이용한 치험례

Impacted or unerupted maxillary central incisor has many problem in making a diagnosis and treatment plan in dental clinics. This is apparent at the dental age of about eight years and over, when the patient is in the early mixed dentition stage. The adjacent teeth may tilt toward the site of the missing tooth with resulting space closure and midline deviation. There are several methods to treat impacted central incisor. Surgical exposure of impacted central incisor and orthodontic treatment to bring the tooth into the line of occlusion is considered the most desirable approach. Three cases are reported, which were treated with surgical intervention and orthodontic tooth movement. For the successful treatment, we should avoid loss of attached gingiva in surgical exposure, excessive orthodontic force in traction and unnecessary extraction of inverted Mx. incisor.
유치열 및 초기 혼합치열기에서 기능성 구치부 반대교합의 치료증례

Prosterior crossbites are abnormal buccal, or lingual relationship of a tooth or teeth of the maxilla, the mandible, or both when the teeth of the two arches are in occlusion and involve the molars and premolars. Posterior crossbites are classified as dental, muscular(functional), or skeletal. In an effort to avoid occlusal interferences caused by the inadequate arch width, the patient deviates the mandible laterally upon closure to achieve maximum intercuspation. This is described as functional posterior crossbite. Correction of functional posterior crossbites in the primary & early mixed dentition as early as possible after diagnosis has been recommended, because crossbites do not automatically improve with the eruption of the permanent teeth. Functional posterior crossbites, if left untreated, may have deleterious effects on the development and function of the TMJ. The diagnosis and management of three cases is presented. Each patient with functional posterior crossbites is treated using the bilateral maxillary expansion appliance.
