Bridge has to be long-spanned and of simple structure, considering the social environment. As a result of this trend in bridge construction, it is important for the sake of economical efficiency to improve the structural system and increase the life cycle of a bridge. To attain these goals in constructing a steel bridge, the detail analyses based on real structure must be performed. In the steel structure bridge, the parts that are a main focus of interest are the diaphragm and the vertical bracing of the steel box girder support. This study observed the behavior of the diaphragms on the bearings of a closed section steel box girder bridge support, as dead load was increased. Stress variation of the support diaphragms in a steel box girder was considered, and both experimental test and structural analyses were performed to verify the behavior of a composite steel box girder bridge under repair or maintenance. 사회적 환경에 따른 교량의 장대화와 단순화의 추세로 인해 구조적 시스템과 생명주기에서 교량 건설의 경제적 효율성이 증대되고 있다. 강교 제작의 경제성과 효율성을 위해 시공 전 상세한 구조해석이 실시되어져야 하며 특히 강상자형교에서는 지점부 다이아프램과 수직보강재가 초점이 되는 주요 부재중의 하나이다. 본 논문에서는 강상자형교를 시공하거나 확장, 보수하는 과정에서 일어나는 추가 사하중에 대하여 지점부의 다이아프램 거동 분석을 위해 실측과 구조해석을 통시에 수행하여 다이아프램부 응력 분배 거동을 분석하고 다이아프램 수각보강 재의 적절한 길이를 제안하고자 하였다.

Artificial reefs are widely used as important means of fishing ground creation for not only commercial fishing but also recreational fishing. The evaluation of artificial reef in this study was made based upon three steps, estimation of effective bulk void volume, catch analysis per unit reef volume and biomass estimation of attachment organisms on the reef. This method can be applied to both the evaluation for post-deployment management of the exist artificial reefs and for the preservation of fisheries resource at the artificial reef fishing grounds.

Purpose : The purpose of this study was to examine the expression of various angiogenic factors during osteoblastic differentiation of periostealderived cells and the effects of osteogenic inductive medium of periosteal-derived cells on the proliferation of endothelial progenitor cells. Materials and methods : Periosteal-derived cells were obtained from mandibular periosteums and introduced into the cell culture. After passage 3, the cells were divided into two groups and cultured for 21 days. In one group, the cells were cultured in the DMEM supplemented with osteogenic inductive agent, including 50g/ml L-ascorbic acid 2-phosphate, 10 nM dexamethasone and 10 mM -glycerophosphate. In the other group, they were cultured in DMEM supplemented without osteogenic inductive agent. VEGF isoforms, VEGFR-1, VEGFR-2, and neuropilin-1 mRNA expression was observed. Human umbilical cord blood-derived endothelial progenitor cell proliferation was also observed. Results : The expression of VEGF isoforms was higher in osteogenic inductive medium than in non-osteogenic inductive medium. The expression of VEGFR-2 was also higher in osteogenic inductive medium than in non-osteogenic inductive medium. However, the expression of VEGFR-1 and neuropilin-1 was similar in both osteogenic inductive medium and non-osteogenic inductive medium. In addition, conditioned medium from differentiated periosteal-derived cells stimulated human umbilical cord blood-derived endothelial progenitor cell numbers compared to conditioned medium from non-differentiated periosteal-derived cells. Conclusion : These results suggest that in vitro osteoblastic differentiation of periosteal-derived cells has angiogenic capacity to support endothelial progenitor cell numbers.

In order to estimate the seasonal variations of SPM transport through cross -section of Nakdong-river estuary, concentration of SPM and current velocity were measured using niskin water sampler and ADCP during dry season and wet season. The transport of total SPM during flood flow and ebb flow were 54.24 × 10² ton/day and 32.80 × 10² ton/day in dry season. and during flood flow and ebb flow were 142.96 × Hi ton/day and 68.81 × 10² ton/day in wet season. Net fluxes of SPM during dry season and wet season were estimated 21.44 × 10² ton/day and 211.77 × 10² ton/day, respectively.

The purpose of this study was to evaluate maxillay distraction for the cleft and other patients who were treated with RED $system^{(R)}$(Martin, Tuttlingen Germany). Eleven patients with severe maxillary hypoplasia who were treated between 2002 and 2007 in the Department of Oral and Maxillofacial surgery, Pusan National University Hospital, are reviewed for this study. Their age at the time of surgery ranged from 7 to 22 years(mean age=15.36 years). Distraction was started at 5 days after Le Fort I or III osteotomy at a rate of 1mm per day for 10 to 20days. All patients used the Rigid External Distraction II system. After distraction was completed, a 2 to 3 months period of consolidation was undertaken. The follow-up period ranged from 1 to 6 years. The mean amount of advancement of the maxilla was 14.2mm(A-point). Relapse, VPI, and local infection around the halo pin were the most common complications. In adult patients, the relapse of maxilla ranged from 21% to 35%. In the growing child, postoperative stability of the maxilla was unstable and unpredictable.
