A copper matrix composite reinforced by turbulent in-situ $TiB_2$ nanoparticle was Prepared by reactions of boron ana titanium. The microstructure, mechanical and electrical properties of the as-drawn composites were investigated. The results showed that the formed $TiB_2$ particles, which had a size of about from 50 to 200nm, exhibited a homogeneous dispersion in the copper matrix. Due to their reinforcement, the hardness and Young's modulus of $Cu-TiB_2$ composites were enhanced with increasing the cooling rate. Moreover, the electrical conductivity of the composites were improved with increasing the cooling rate.

This study was conducted to survey the germination characteristics of the seeds of Larix kaempferi, which is a major plantation species in Korea, according to the storage period. The germination experiment was conducted at 25°C, targeting seeds collected in 1996, 2004, 2008, 2009, 2010, and 2011. Prior to the germination experiment, seeds were subjected to different soaking treatments for 1, 2, 3, and 7 days including non-treatment. The germination rate in L. kaempferi seeds was observed to be higher in those that were collected recently; that is, the seeds that were stored for a shorter period of time. The germination rate of the seeds collected in 2011, which were stored immediately after collection, was 20.7%. The seeds from 1996 and 2004 did not germinate at all. The seeds from the year 2008 showed the lowest germination rate at 2.7%. The whole T50 of the test-subjected seeds was observed to be 3-7 days. Germination uniformity tended to decrease with shorter storage period. Soaking treatment lowered the mean germination time and uniformity, except for the stored seeds (collected in 1996 and 2004), which did not germinate. Based on the results of these experiments, such as a reduction in germination rate according to the seed storage period, it seems likely that more detailed investigations into the changes in seed viability and storage management are needed with respect to L. kaempferi seeds.

헬리콘 플라즈마 장치에서 주 입력 전력, 공정 압력을 변수로 산화막 식각 특성을 조사하였다. 산화막 식각 특성은 주 입력 전력이 높을수록, 그리고 공정 압력이 낮을수록 좋아졌다. C₄F_8 플라즈마에서 주 입력 전력이 300W에서 2000W로 증가함에 따라 실리콘에 대한 선택비는 2.9에서 25.33로 증가하였으며, 공정 압력이 10 mTorr에서 1.5 mTorr로 감소함에 따라 2.3에서 16.21로 증가하였다. 4극 질량 분석기를 사용하여 플라즈마 내의 라디칼 종 및 이온 종의 상대적 변화 추이를 살펴본 결과, 공정 압력이 낮아지고 입력 전력이 높아질수록 이온 종의 밀도가 라디칼 종의 밀도에 비해서 상대적으로 높아지면서 고선택비 식각이 얻어지는 것으로 밝혀졌다. SiO₂ etch characteristics were studied as a function of the basic parameters, such as the main RF power and the operating pressure in a helicon plasma. SiO₂ etch characteristics were improved as the main RF power was increased and the operating pressure was decreased. SiO₂ etch selectivity over silicon increased from 2.9 to 25.33 when the RF input power increased from 300 W to 2 kW and from 2.3 to 16.21 when the operating pressure decreased from 10 mTorr to 1.5 mTorr with C₄F_8 plasma. We used a quadrupole mass spectrometer to measure the relative abundancies of various ionic and radical species to explain the experimental results and found that when the operating pressure is low and the RF input power is high, the highly selective SiO₂ etch is achieved as a result of density increment of the densities of various ionic species.
