This essay is a part of a series of my study aiming at doing a portrait of Li Shi Min, Taizong of Tang Dynasty, focussing on analyzing historical process from the time of late Sui Dynasty until Tang Dynasty had been established by Li Shi Min and his family member. Although there are an amount of studies about Li Shi Min in China, studies in Korea is very low in terms of number, so hopefully this essay can be a kind of cutting edge stimulating study related Li Shi Min in Korea as well as creating a another type of image of Li Shi Min. Based on precedent research and adding my own perspective, doing a new portrait of Li Shi Min is a purpose of this paper.

Purpose: Ethanol elicits several inflammatory responses and affects the innate immune response. The aim of this study was to identify the mechanism by which ethanol affects uric acid-induced NLR family pyrin domain-containing 3 (NLRP3) inflammasome activation by regulation of aryl hydrocarbon receptor (AhR) and thioredoxin-interacting protein (TXNIP). Materials and Methods: Human myeloid leukemia cells (U937 cells) were used to assess the role of ethanol in NLRP3 inflammasome activation induced by monosodium urate (MSU) crystals. Expression of target molecules, such as NLRP3 inflammasome components, AhR, and TXNIP, were measured using quantitative real-time PCR and Western blot analyses. The effect of ethanolinduced TXNIP on the NLRP3 inflammasome was assessed in human macrophages transfected with TXNIP siRNA. Results: U937 cells treated with 100 mM ethanol for 24 h induced NLRP3 and interleukin (IL)-1β expression. Ethanol increased reactive oxygen species generation in a time- and dose-dependent manner. AhR mRNA expression was downregulated in U937 cells treated with 100 mM ethanol, whereas CYP1A1 mRNA expression increased. Treatment with ethanol increased NLRP3 and IL-1β mRNA and protein expression in U937 cells exposed to 1.0 mg/mL of MSU crystals for 24 h. TXNIP expression in U937 cells incubated with both 100 mM ethanol and 1.0 mg/mL of MSU crystals was significantly higher than in cells incubated with MSU crystals alone. Treatment with 100mM ethanol for 24 h downregulated NLRP3 and IL-1β expression in MSU crystal-activated U937 cells transfected with TXNIP siRNA, compared to those with scramble siRNA. Conclusion: Ethanol stimulates uric acid-induced NLRP3 inflammasome activation through regression of AhR and upregulation of TXNIP.

This paper delves into an examination of the portrayal of heroism and Karma capitalism as depicted in Christopher Nolan’s Batman Begins, within the context of Gotham City’s pervasive corruption. Nolan’s narrative seeks to elucidate the genesis of Batman, a departure from previous iterations of the character. Prior to the film’s release, scant attention was given to the formative experiences of a young Bruce Wayne leading to his emergence as a hero. Nolan adeptly explores how Wayne transforms into Batman through the influence of various paternal figures and an evolving understanding of capitalism. The analysis begins with an exploration of the father figures who play pivotal roles in Wayne’s journey towards assuming the mantle of Batman, facilitating his navigation of childhood trauma. Subsequently, the examination bifurcates the portrayal of capitalism into two distinct spheres: Karma capitalism, embodied by Wayne’s philanthropic endeavors, and corrupted capitalism, epitomized by the antagonistic forces within Gotham. This paper then scrutinizes Wayne’s rationale for embracing Karma capitalism, aligning his actions with the altruistic ethos epitomized by his father, Thomas Wayne. Through this investigation into the development of a humane hero amidst a capitalist milieu, this paper ultimately endeavors to delineate the ethical imperatives necessary to navigate the pitfalls of corrupted capitalism while upholding the virtues of Karma capitalism. This paper underscores the imperative of cultivating a societal ethos grounded in benevolence and kindness, positing capitalism as a potential instrument for social upliftment and equitable distribution of resources. By elucidating these themes, this paper aspires to illuminate pathways towards ameliorating the societal malaise engendered by capitalism’s darker manifestations, while advancing a vision of heroism rooted in compassion and civic responsibility. This paper shows that Batman Begins is not just about a simple superhero movie, but it is a very movie that penetrating the social darkness and problems.

Creeping bentgrass 'Penn-Al', Perennial ryegrass 'Palmer ll', Kentucky bluegrass 'Nassou', Tall fescue 'Boonsai 2000'의 생육에 대한 칼슘의 영향을 온실에서 조사하였다. Creeping bentgrass 'Penn-Al', Kentucky bluegrass 'Nassou'와 Tall fescue'Boonsai 2000'의 shoot 생육은 Ca 4.0me/L에서, Perennial ryegrass 'Palmer II'는 Ca 2.0me/L.에서 가장 양호하였다. Creeping bentgrass 'Penn-Al', Perennial ryegrass 'Palmer II'와 Kentucky bluegrass 'Nassou'의 뿌리생육은 Ca 1.0me/L, Tall fescue'Boonsai 2000'는 Ca 4.0me/L에서 가장 양호하였지만 처리간에 큰 차이는 없었다. Creeping bentgrass 'Penn-Al'와 Kentucky bluegrass 'Nassou'의 분얼수는 Ca 4.0me/L., Perennial ryegrass 'Palmer II'는 Ca 1.0me/L에서 가장 많았으며, Tall fescue 'Boonsai 2000'의 분얼수는 Ca 4.0me/L에서 가장 많았지만 처리간 유의성은 없었다. 식물체 내 무기성분 함량은 Ca 처리 농도가 높을수록 Ca 함량이 많았고, 반대로 Mg 함량은 감소하였으며, Fe는 Ca 4.0me/L까지는 함량이 증가하였고, N, P, K, Zn는 큰 영향이 없었다. 식물 영양실험에 있어서 심지화분의 이용성은 정확도와 간편성이 탁월하여 앞으로의 연구에 많이 적용될 수 있음을 확인하였다. The influence of calcium on the growth of creeping bentgrass 'Penn-Al', perennial ryegrass 'Palmer II', Kentuckuy bluegrass 'Nassou' and tall fescue 'Boonsai 2000' in greenhouse was investigated. Creeping bentgrass 'Penn-A1', Kentucky bluegrass 'Nassou' and tall fescue 'Boonsai 2000' at Ca 4.0 me/L, and perennial ryegrass 'Palmer II' at Ca 2.0 me/L showed the best shoot growth. Creeping bentgrass 'Penn-A1', perennial ryegrass 'Palmer II' and Kentucky bluegrass 'Nassou' at Ca 1.0 me/L, and tall fescue 'Boonsai 2000' at Ca 4.0 me/L showed the best root growth, and there was little or no difference between different Ca concentrations. Creeping bentgrass 'Penn-Al' and Kentucky bluegrass 'Nassou' at Ca 4.0 mea, and perennial ryegrass 'Palmer II' at Ca 1.0 me/L had the highest number of tillers, and tall fescue 'Boonsai 2000' at Ca 4.0 me/L had the highest, but there was no difference between different Ca concentrations. As application rate of Ca concentration became higher, the concent of Ca in plant tissue increased, while the content of Mg in plant tissue decreased, and the content of Fe in plant tissue increased to Ca 4.0 me/L. The Ca treatment had not effect on N, p, K, and Zn of tissue content. The wick pot applied will be to research of plant nutrition in future because utilization of wick pot has an excellent precision and convenience.
