Recently, the necessity of developing the load and resistance factor design(LRFD) for soft ground improvement method has been raised, since the limit state design is requested as international technical standard for the foundation of structures. In this study, to develop LRFD codes for foundation structures in Korea, target reliability index and resistance factor for static bearing capacity of driven steel pipe piles were calibrated in the framework of reliability theory. The 16 data(in Gwangyang) and the 57 dada(Korea Institute of Construction Technology, 2008) sets of static load test and soil property tests conducted in the whole domestic area were collected along with available subsurface investigation results. As a result, to prepare the introduction of the LRFD from international technical standard, considering the nature of Korea a resistance coefficient from working stress design method was suggested. We created the foundation of the resistance factor design. The result from this research will be the useful information for developing various foundation and soil structure under LRFD.

Objective : This Study is attempted to compare respiration training method on Sun-Do Training it is quadrivalence. Method : We used all books and paper, journal of inside and outside of the country on Sun-Do Training. Results and Conclusions: 1. Respiration training method on Mu-Eou-Do is spontaneous breathing, breath follows in individual`s respiratory. 2. Respiration training method on Suk-Mun, Guk-Seon-Do, Dan-Hak is all of the position differ, but all considers and breathes naturally abdominal region named Dan-Jeoun, the hypogastric center (丹田). 3. Respiration training method that intend in Guk-seon-do should be soft and slow and long and deep and the moment must not be stoppage. 4. Difference of respiration training method is that region that mean at practice differs. Suk-Mun and Guk-Seon-Do have respiration training method that do with anus as is special in practice process. Dan-Hak thinks that breath has entered as Myung-Mun(命門), means fundamental force.

Objective : ``GyoGam-Dan`` is known as a medicine to cure depression in Donguibogam (traditional Korean oriental medicine book ). GyoGam-dan which is composed of Cyperi Rhizoma L. and Poria cum Radix pini has been usde by basic prescription of asymptom related to all kinds of Qi(氣) disease. Although it has been clinically used for a long time, its safety have never been proved till now. Methods : We had collected data of 610 cases of patients taking ``GyoGam-Dan`` at Wonkwang univ. oriental medical center for a period of three years (2005.3.09-2008.04.30). On the patients` blood, the levels of LFT and RFT were examined and the residual levels of heavy metals and pesticides were measured. Results : There were 610 patients who had taken GyoGam-Dan for about three years. In the patients, the most common diseases is depression, followed by palpitation, and then insomnia. Among the patients` estimations on its effectiveness, there were many of positive ones. The blood analyses of patients who had taken GyoGam-Dan did not show any problems and moreover there was not any problems in the levels of residual heavy metals and agricultural pesticides. Taken together, GyoGam-Dan was proved to be a safe medicine for health. Conclusions : Our clinical and chemical studies show that GyoGam-dan has the anti-stress effect and is a safe medicine of which side effect does not exist. Hereafter, Nigorous clinical trial on GyoGam-dan is required.

Objective: The antioxidant and anti-Alzheimer effects of Semen Ziziphi Spinosae (SZS) water extract against the amyloid beta peptide (1-42) or H202-induced oxidative damage and cell death were investigated in rat pheochromocytoma line PC 12. Methods: The cells were incubated with SZS water extract and oxidative damage-inducing materials, amyloid beta peptide (1-42) or H2O2 for 24 h. The cellular viability was assessed by WST-1 assay, cytotoxic damage by LDH activity assay, oxidative damages of cells by fluorescence spectrophotometric method, and apoptosis by TUNEL staining assay. Results and Conclusions: 1. Preincubation of the cells with SZS water extract prior to amyloid beta peptide (1-42) (2 uM) or H2O2 (30 uM) exposure elevated the cell survival close to the control and decreased the level of LDH activity and the fluorescence from the cell homogenates and TUNEL staining of the cells, compared to only amyloid beta peptide (1-42) (2 uM) or H2O2 (30 uM) treated conditions. 2. Our study suggests that Semen Ziziphi Spinosae (SZS) water extract has protective effects against amyloid beta peptide (1-42) or H2O2-induced cell toxicity through the antioxidation mechanism, which might be beneficial for the treatment of Alzheimer's disease.

치매(痴매)에 대한 최신 실험적 연구 동향 (2000년 이후 한의학 학술지를 중심으로)

Objectives : The purpose of this study is to suggest for the following experimental study of dementia by reviewing recent oriental medicine journals that have been published since 2000. Methods : We have investigated various types of studies in relation to dementia through 90 articles that have been published from 2000 to 2007 in recent oriental medicine journals were registered Korea research foundation. Results and Conclusions : 1. Since 2000, 88 articles in relation to dementia have been published and almost of them are herbal medicine-centered studies. Also they show a tendency to increase every year. The journal of oriental neuropsychiatry carries the highest number of studies in relation to dementia. 2. According to the experimental paper, there are 30 cases of using herb simplexes, 48 cases of herb-combined prescription, and 10 cases of other ways. Especially 7 cases of using herb-combined prescription relation to Sasang constitution are all for the Taeumin. 3. There are 85 cases of Animal and cellular experimental, 60 cases of using pathologic model induced cytotoxic activity, a case of using L-NAME, 3 cases of 192 saporin, 4 cases of ibotenic acid, 10 cases of focal cerebral ischemia, 3 cases of alcohol-administered, and one case of natural degradation. 4. Morris water maze, Radial arm maze Passive avoidance learning model were using for examining learning and memory of model animal 5. We propose that following studies of dementia are to be investigated of the applied method of using siRNA with tranceduced gene, sample preparation by water-soaking, oriental medical diagnosis, standardization of differentiating symptom and herb simplexes, building the database by classified prescriptions, and experiment model which are based on precise examining mechanism with cell line as like mouse H19-7 hippocampus, rat HT22 hippocampus, astrocyte, microglia, using the model of animals at APP, PS1, BACE, CT99/PS1, APOE4, Tau, APP/PS1/Tau
무심기공 누운자세 도인법이 인체 자율신경계와 근골격계에 미치는 영향

Objective: The purpose of this study is to learn the effects of Musimgigong supine position Doyin-therapy (MGSDT) on the autonomous nervous system (ANS) and musculoskeletal system (MSS), and to know how much MGSDT is useful for relaxing the human body. Methods : Eight oriental medical doctors participated in the experiment, who have trained Musimgigong for 6 years or more. Before and after applying MGSDT, we measured BVP/HR, respiration rate, peripheral temperatures, skin conductance, and EMG, using Procomp Infinity and Biograph Infinity of Thought Technology Ltd. Results and Conclusions : 1. After the treatment, the participants in MGSDT group reported that they felt refreshed and relaxed. 2. By analyzing the measured data, we observed significant difference in respiration rate(p=.026<.05) and SC(p=.013<.05) before and after applying MGSDT. We also observed relaxing effect in BVP/HR, EMG, but was not significant. On the other hand Temp was stressed but was not significant. Conclusion is that MGSDT can be considered to have an effect on relaxing ANS. Therefore MGSDT could have useful clinical effect to autonomic imbalance.
