소도(素堂)의 홋쿠(発句) 「何となう假名書習ふ柳かな」의 연구
황동원 한국일본학회 2015 日本學報 Vol.105 No.-
This manuscript considers the nature of the existing characteristics by comparing the poetic imagery of Sodo’s Hutku in 「Nantono Ganakakinarahu Yanagikana (Somehow it is a willow tree fluttering in the wind as though it is becoming familiar by writing Kana!)」and previous literature as Waka, Renga, Demonhaikai, and Danlinhaikai. As a result, the willow tree appearing in the previous literature contains poetic imagery reminding of「brush」and 「letter」. Since it contains the poetic image of wood used for writing letters likened to a brush, Sodo clearly defined the possibility of describing the willow tree at Sodo’s Hutku, thereby becoming familiar with Kana letters by writing persistently. Furthermore, by considering the biological characteristics of a willow tree as soft and wavy, Kana letters described in Hutku seem to be closer to Hiragana than to Katakana. By considering the image consisting of long branches and softness reminiscent of a willow tree, it suggests the possibility of describing 「Nantono」, which is pronounced smoothly and leaves lingering imagery, rather than 「Nantonaku」, pronounced stiffly, on purpose. Sodo’s idea, especially of finding similarity between the willow tree branch and the pronunciation of 「Nantono」, the symbolism of the willow figure as soft and long flowing and the pronunciation of 「Nantono」as a soft and remaining lingering image, pursues a new poetic image which has never previously been attempted in the literature.

Vol.0 No.115
This study considers 10 Chinese poems about “Heikemonogatari” and Buddhism in “Ikkyukantobanashi,” to determine whether they followed the Phonology and their phonological characteristics. An analysis of ‘‘Heikemonogatari’ revealed that 105 out of 119 phonemes followed the Phonology, whereas this did not occur for 146 out of 168 phonemes from poems about Buddhism and the rest, which means, overall, an above-average number of poems followed the Phonology. Based on the fact that, in some of the writer’s poems the Phonology was perfectly well followed or violated slightly, it is easily assumed that his skills were sufficient to follow the rule, but that he violated the Phonology on purpose, considering that Hanasibon’s Kyoshi(s) seeks humor. The violations were made when the writer quoted the names of people, horses, and the titles of stories directly from “Heikemonogatari” into Kyoshi and proactively introduced Japanese expressions into Chinese poetry. Mixing compliance and non-compliance with Phonology to seek fun for both in the structure and in the content must have been given to people who were cultured in Chinese Poetry.
