        방사선사진과 임상검사에서 하악 대구치 치근의 형태학적 구조 및 치조골 수준에 관한 비교연구

        Periodontal defects of the furcation are characterized by several inherent anatomic factors that can make successful periodontal therapy difficult and results unpredictable. The severity and rate of occurrence of periodontal disease are directly related to the location of the furcation relative to the cementa-enamel junction and anatomical form of the root by limiting the accessibility and effectiveness of the periodontal instrumentation. This study investigated the reliability and accuracy of panoramic radiograph diagnoses of the periodontal state of mandibular molars, particularly regarding the diagnosis of furcation area periodontal defects, treatment planning, and prognosis prediction. This study examined a total of 110 teeth belonging to 33 subjects (19 male, 14 female) presenting with incipient to moderate periodontitis 4-7mmpocket depth. The alveolar bone level, length and width of the root trunk, and root separation angle were measured using the panoramic radiograph and compared to the results taken directly by retracting a full-thickness flap. The results of the study are as follows: 1. Data regarding the alveolar bone level of the mandibular first molar showed that the directly taken surgical measurements resulted in $5.1{\pm}0.9mm$ that was slightly deeper than the corresponding panoramic measurement resulted in $4.8{\pm}0.8mm$, but these differences were statistically insignificant (p>0.05). 2. The data of the directly taken surgical measurement of the mandibular second molar $(5.1{\pm}1.1mm)$ was slightly deeper than the corresponding panoramic measurement $(4.7{\pm}1.2mm)$, but these differences were statistically insignificant (p>0.05). 3. The measured values of the length and width of the mandibular first molar root trunks were determined to be $4.1{\pm}0.6mm$ and $7.3{\pm}0.9mm$, respectively, while the values of the mandibular second molar root trunks were determined to be $4.6{\pm}1.3mm$ and $7.6{\pm}0.9mm$ respectively. The differences between these values were found to be statistically significant (p<0.01). 4. The measured values of the root separation angle showed that the mandibular first molars averaged $34.5{\pm}4.4^{\circ}$, while the mandibular second molars averaged $23.0{\pm}10.0^{\circ}$. The differences between these values were found to be statistically significant (p<0.01).

        미세먼지의 di(2-ethylhexyl) phthalate가 유도한 피부상피세포 사멸 신호전달기전 연구

        Particulate matter with an aerodynamic diameter of less than 2.5 μM (PM<sub>2.5</sub>) is one of the major environmental pollutants. Di(2-ethylhexyl) phthalate (DEHP), an endocrine disrupting chemical in PM<sub>2.5</sub>, has been utilized for the manufacturing of polyvinyl chloride to increase the flexibility of final products. In the present study, we investigated the ecotoxicological effect of DEHP on the viability of skin keratinocytes (HaCaT). DEHP induced apoptotic cell death mediated by phosphorylation of extracellular signal-regulated kinase through the production of intracellular Reactive Oxygen Species (ROS). Interestingly, we found that DEHP induces the phosphorylation of the nuclear factor-kappa B responsible for the expression of cleaved caspase-3 as an executional cell death protease in HaCaT cells. On the basis of these results, we suggest that DEHP in PM<sub>2.5</sub> induces the apoptotic death of human keratinocytes via ROS-mediated signaling events.

        응급질환 및 감시체계 : 당노병성 케톤산증에 대한 임상적 고찰

        Background: Diabetic ketoacidosis(DKA) is serious acute metabolic complication and the most important cause of high morbidity and mortality of diabetes. The object of this study is to examine the clinical characteristics of patients with DKA who had a prior history of diabetes or not. Method: Authers reviewed retrospectively the medical records of 49 cases adimitted to Kyungpook National University Hospital from January 1991 to June 1997 with a diagnosis of DKA and classified cases as type I, type II and newly diagnosed diabetics according to prior history of diabetes, Results: 1. Of 49 cases of DKA, 24(49%) were classified as type I, 17(35%) as type II from data available in the medical records, and 8(16%) had DKA as the initial manifestation of the diasease. 2. The male to female ratio was 0.5: 1 in type I, 1.1: 1 in type II and 1.7: 1 in newly diagnosed diabetics, and the mean age was 24.4 in type I, 57.9 in type II and 23.9 years old in newly diagnosed diabetics. 3. The mean duration between initial diagnosis of diabetes and the occurrence of DKA was 2.6 in type I and 6.9 years in type II diabetes. The occurrence of DKA within 2 years of initial diagnosis of diabetes was 54% in type I and 18% in type II diabetes, but the occurrence of DKA after 5 years of initial diagnosis of diabetes was 17% in type I and 47% in type II diabetes. 4. The precipitating factors of DKA were identified in 88% in type I, 76% in type II and 38% in newly diagnosed diabetics, and the most common precipitating factor was omission of treatment in both type I and type II(type I: 56%, type II: 35%). 5. The altered mental status was correlated with incresed osmolality(p<0.05), but not with other laboratory values such as pH, bicabonate, glucose, anion gap and dehydration status(p>0.05). Conclusion: It is necessary to conduct early aggressive evaluation for early diagnosis and proper treatment of DKA, because DKA occurs in patients with prior history of type II diabetes and without prior diabetic history as well as patients with prior history of type l diabetes.

        This research is to seek to provide an effective way of approach for the performing arts managers under the current circumstances of incongruities and inequalities in achieving the sponsorship. The arts managers in the performing arts sector should provide a cost-effective yet quality oriented production procedure by investing human resources for the organization along with providing the sponsorship manuals especially for the performing arts sector. It is also required to achieve the systemized sponsorship process and develop enhanced return services that are appropriate for the objective of the targeted corporate. As the researchers were unavoidably faced with the lacks of preceded research materials, constant and detailed research/studies are necessary to develop more concrete direction and to define the roles of the arts managers in the performing arts sector.

        PtRu catalyst is most widely used as anode catalyst for a direct methanol fuel cell(DMFC). To promote the efficiency of the catalysts, it Is important to increase the triple phase boundary. In this study, we have tried to increase the triple phase boundaries in preparing electrocatalysts of the fuel cells, based on the process of grafting a proton-conducting agent onto the catalyst This grafted proton-conducting agent can act as an ionomer like Nafion, currently widely used ionomer. First, we have prepared the 80wt% PtRu/Ketjen Black electrocatalyst by an improved colloidal method. And, we have grafted methylsulfonate groups (-CH₂SO₃H) into the catalyst as proton-conducting agents. As results of cyclic voltammety and single cell test of the membrane electrode assembly (MEA), we can conclude that the activity of the grafted electrocatalysts is superior to that of conventional ones, in performance of DMFCs. For our further study, we will investigate the optimum ratio of catalyst/grafted proton conduct Ing agent with maximum performance of a DMFC.

        청소년활동몰입 관련요인에 대한 구조분석

        이 연구의 목적은 청소년활동 진행과정에서 청소년활동 참여자의 청소년활동몰입을 설명하는 종합모델을 구안하고, 청소년활동몰입에 영향을 미치는 관련요인들 간의 구조적 인과관계를 밝히는데 있다. 연구의 목적을 달성하기 위해, 청소년수련시설에서 운영하는 청소년활동에 참여한 460명의 중학생을 대상으로 설문조사를 실시하였다. 배포된 설문지 중 417매가 회수되었으며, 분석에 적합하지 않은 설문지를 제외한 301매가 분석에 이용되었다. 수집된 자료는 AMOS 4.0을 사용하여 공변량구조분석을 실시하였으며, 경로계수의 통계적 유의수준은 5%였다. 연구결과에 따르면 가정환경요인은 자기목적적성격에 직접적인 정적영향(β=.61)을 갖고 있었다. 주관적 안녕감을 유의하게 설명하고 있는 변인은 동료관계(β=.25), 가정환경요인(β=.21) 그리고 지도자관계(β=.14)였으며, 매개변인인 자기목적적 성격은 주관적 안녕감에 유의한 영향을 미치지 못하는 것으로 나타났다. 또한 활동진행내용요인(β=.40), 활동진행방법요인(β=.37), 자기목적적 성격(β=.21), 주관적 안녕감(β=.10)은 청소년활동몰입에 직접효과를 갖는 것으로 나타났으며, 독립변인인 가정환경요인(β=.16), 지도자관계(β=.01), 동료관계(β=.02)는 청소년활동몰입에 유의한 간접효과를 갖는 것으로 나타났다. The purpose of this study is to create and evaluate a structural model through the identification of the cause-and-effect relationships among factors that affect the youth activity flow of participants in youth activity programs. The subjects in this study were 460 middle school students who had participated in a youth activity program managed by a youth center. The reliability and validity of the questionnaire used was proven through a preliminary research Exercise. Out of a total of 460 questionnaires, 417 were collected, invalid or otherwise inappropriate questionnaires were exempted and 301 questionnaires were used in the research. AMOS 4.0 was used to examine the covariance and the level of statistical significance was 5%. The results of this research are as follows. Family environment was found to statistically influence autotelic personality(β=.61). Moreover, a positive relationship with teammates(β=.25), family environment(β=.25), and a positive relationship with one’s leader(β=.14) directly affected subjective well-being. However, the family environment did not directly affect subjective well-being. Additionally, the activity content factor(β=.40), the activity method factor(β=.37), autotelic personality (β=.21) and subjective well-being(β=.10) directly affected the level of the participants’youth activity flow. The factor of family environment (β=.16), autotelic personality (β=.01) and the relationship between leader and teammates (β=.02) indirectly affected the level of the participants’youth activity flow.

        In this paper, we proposed a new sensorless drive system for the trapezoidal type brushless DC motor, which does not use any mechanical position or speed sensor and applicable to the systems requiring a constant speed and torque such as Fan.<br/> For this, a novel indirect rotor position sensing technique based on a detailed analysis of the terminal voltage characteristics is proposed in this paper. And a sensorless drive system for the brushless DC motor is implemented using a 87c196mc for the main microprocessor, and a power FET for the inverter.<br/> The experimental results will show the validity of the proposed indirect sensing method and the practical use of the sensorless drive.
