Roxithromycin is a kind of macrolide which possesses a wide spectrum of antimicrobial activity, favorable pharmacokinetics and good tolerance. This study was designed to evaluate the clinical efficacy, tolerance of Roxithromycin in the treatment of lower respiratory tract infections to out-patient. A total number of 20 out-patients were included in open, non-comparative, monocenter study. Patients presented lower respiratory tract infections that are acute bronchitis, acute episode of chronic bronchitis of COPD (n=5case) or pneumonia (n=15 case). Roxithromycin was administered orally at the dose of 300mg a day (bid) before meals for 7 to 10 days. Other antibacterial drug should be excluded during this study. Successful clinical response observed in 18 patients (95%) with the improvement of radiologic infiltration and subjective symptoms. The tolerance was good in 17 out of 20 patients (85%). Some patient experienced mild headache, mild epigastric pain and rash. In conclusion, roxithromycin was proved to be effective, safe and tolerable antibiotics in the treatment of lower respiratory tract infection. Background: Noninvasive and easy-to-use surface electromyography (EMG) is frequently utilized for the diagnosis of temporomandibular disorders (TMDs). However, few EMG parameters that consider TMDs in addition to the cranio-cervical-mandibular system have been regarded as important in traditional Korean medicine. Methods: This clinical trial will be conducted as an assessor-blinded cross-sectional study. The participants will be classified based on the Diagnostic Criteria for TMDs Symptom Questionnaire (DC/TMD SQ) and 30 TMD patients and 30 healthy controls will be enrolled. The primary outcome will be the percentage overlapping coefficient (POC; %) in the masseter and sternocleidomastoid muscles between the patient group and healthy control group in clenching and cervical side flexion. The secondary outcomes include the score from temporomandibular joint-related questionnaires, the difference in the absolute values of EMG for the healthy group and TMD group before/after wearing intraoral appliances, and the change in the location of the temporomandibular joint as determined by X-ray imaging and 3D face photography. Discussion: This study will provide information about the objective diagnostic method for TMD using surface EMG and will verify the effectiveness of surface EMG in diagnosing TMD. Furthermore, the method or device for diagnosis TMD will improve the expansion of treatment area to TMD by accumulating evidence for the efficacy of TKM treatment.

The plucking season of green tea leaves is one of the important parameters that decide their metabolic diversity, quality, and prices. The effects of plucking sghlwleasons on green tea metabolites were investigated through metabolite profiling by 1H NMR spectroscopy. The orthogonal projection on latent structure-discriminant analysis (OPLS-DA) showed clear discriminations of green teas by three different grades depending on plucking seasons: Ujeon, Sejak, and Jungjak. These results suggested that the nine peak groups could be used for diagnostics for identification of high quality Ujeon grade of green tea.

Double insulated EL devices with ZnS:Sm,F as a active layer are fabricated and their EL mechanism are investigated. The variation of emission wave form according to the conduction current are observed to study the mechanism of the electroluminescence. The conduction current was composed of a fast transient component(j_(fc)) and a dc-like component(j_(dc)). In the high electric field region, j_(fc) becomes dominant. Therefore, It can be considered that luminance mainly occurs due to injected carrier from ZnS-insulator interface.
