EVALUATION OF STRESS REDUCTION BY MENTAL WORK CHARACTERISTIC AND AROMA FRAGRANCE

People are stressed out as society grows. According to the Comprehensive Survey of Living Conditions(2016), 47.7 percent of people are stressed. We live in today a stress society as the survey suggests. The researches of stress often employ NIRS to observe effects on the brain activity, but it has not been studied how stress can be reduced with aroma fragrances although they must have some effects on brain activity. In this study, we investigate how stress can be reduced by aroma fragrances by examining signals collected from the frontal cortex of subjects using NIRS. We ask twenty participants (male: 5 female:5) to do a quiet task operation (UK test). We do rest-tasking-aromatherapy experiments comparing them. 사회가 다양해지고 공업화됨에 따라 안면부의 외상은 증가 추세에 있으며, 관골골절 발생이 많아 졌다. 안면골 골절중 관골 골절은 비골 골절 다음으로 발생율이 높다. 보통 관골 골절은 간접정복술에 의해 많이 치료되어 왔으나, 심한 변이가 있는 경우에 있어서는 직접정복술이 이용된다. 특히 관골궁 골절에 있어서의 직접정복술에 대해서는 많은 논란이 있어왔다. 관골궁에의 접근 방법에는 관상절개법, 전이개절개법, 수평절개법, 후이개절개법과 하악하연절개법등 여러 가지가 사용되어 왔다. 전이개절개법은 하악과두골절, 관절낭 및 관철친판 수술에 많이 사용되나, 관골궁까지의 도달은 용이하지 않다. 수평절개법 또한 안면 신경 손상의 위험이 따르므로 좋지 않다. 본 교실에서는 관골궁 골절의 정복시 시야를 넓히며 안면신경 손상의 위험을 줄이기 위하여 전이개절개법을 변형하여 시행하였다. 즉, 전이개절개를 측두부에서 전상방으로 연장하여 총 길이를 8㎝정도로 한다. 이 방법은 Al-Kayat & Bramley 절개법과 유사하나 수술부위를 줄일 수 있다는 장점이 잇다. 본 교실에서는 이 방법을 측두 전이개 접근법이라 명명하였으며, 4명의 환자를 치료한 바, 안면 신경손상이 없었으며 만족할만한 결과를 얻었기에 보고하는 바이다.

<P><B>Purpose</B></P><P>In vaccine efficacy evaluation, visualization of pathogens in whole organism at each time point would be able to reduce the consuming animals and provide the <I>in vivo</I> information within consistent background with identical organism.</P><P><B>Materials and Methods</B></P><P>Using IVIS spectrum whole live-animal imaging system, fluorescent intensity was optimized and visualized proportionately by concentrating <I>Escherichia coli</I> MC1061 strain which expresses GFP (<I>E. coli</I>-GFP) in BALB/C mice after injection.</P><P><B>Results</B></P><P>Local distribution of disseminated <I>E. coli</I>-GFP was traced in each organ by fluorescence. Detached organ showed more obvious fluorescent signal, and intestine showed strongest fluorescent signal.</P><P><B>Conclusion</B></P><P>This <I>in vivo</I> imaging method using GFP-tagged pathogen strain suggest quantified infected pathogens by fluorescence intensity in whole animals can provide the information about the localization and distribution after infection.</P>

Crohn`s disease is a chronic inflammatory disease that can involve the entire gastrointestinal tract. Several studies indicate that Crohn`s patients with long disease duration have an increased risk of small bowel or colorectal cancer. In Korea, only a few cases of Crohn`s disease-related small bowel or colorectal cancer have been reported. Here, we described 3 cases of colorectal cancer and 2 cases of small bowel cancer in patients with Crohn`s disease. Among 5 patients, 3 had Crohn`s disease-related lower gastrointestinal malignancy and the other 2 had sporadic lower gastrointestinal malignancies. Since the diagnosis of Crohn`s disease-related lower gastrointestinal malignancy tends to be delayed, the development of malignancy should be considered in patients with long duration of Crohn`s disease if patients have refractory symptoms despite intensive medical treatment. Surgical consultation should not be delayed. (Intest Res 2013;11:127-133)
Microvascularized jejunal flap transfer for the reconstruction of the defective oral lining

안면 손상이나 종양 적출술에 의한 두경부 부위의 과도한 결손은 재건에 있어서 많은 어려운 문제를 야기한다. 미세 혈관 문합술을 이용한 공장 피판은 이러한 두경부 결손, 특히 상 소화관의 결손시 재건에 아주 유용하다. 공장 피판은 open-patch flap으로 구강 결손부의 재건에 사용함으로써 그 사용 범위를 넓힐 수 있다. 타 근피판의 과도한 부피와는 달리 소장벽은 그 두께가 얇아 구강ㆍ악안면 부위의 재건에 적절하며 점막으로 이루어져 있어 피부 이식과는 달리 구강 점막과 조직학적 및 생리학 적으로 적합하다. 그리고 즉시 재건술을 시행함으로써 회복이 더욱 빨라진다. 또한 술후 정상적인 안모를 유지할 수 있으며, 혀의 기능을 최대한 유지시킬 수 있다는 장점이 있다. 본 교실에서는 연구개에 생긴 편평 상피 세포암 환자에 있어서 공장 피판으로 미세 혈관 문합술을 이용하여 재건하였기에 보고하는 바이다. Major losses of alimentary tract lining in the head and neck by trauma or extirpative cancer surgery create difficult reconstructive problems. Microvascular transfer of jejunum allows the replacement of lining in the upper alimentary tract. Jejunum is the donor of choice for pharyngeal reconstruction, but an extension of the use of jejunal conduits is the jejunal patch graft for oral lining. The thickness of the bowel is well suited to reconstructive needs and excessive bulk, often a drawback of musculocutaneous flaps, is avoided. The flaps retain their histological and physiological properties which are more compatible lining substitutes than skin flaps or grafts. Because reconstruction is complete in one stage, convalescence has been shortened appreciably by this method. Many problems associated with older techniques have been solved by this microvascularized tissue transfer. The use of jejunum to reconstruct lining deficiency in head and neck is reliable and safe in the hands of an experienced microsurgeon. The purpose of this article is to present our experience with free microvascular grafts for reconstruction of the surgical defect of the oral cavity.

One of the most important roles of a brain atlas is providing a spatial reference system in which multiple images can be interpreted in a consistent way. The brain atlase based on Western populations such as the International Consortium for Brain Mapping's 452 T-1 Weighted Average Atlas was widely used; however, they may not be the optimal choice for use with brain images from other ethnic groups, because structural differences between occidental and oriental brains have been reported. Therefore, in this study, we created an average brain atlas from 100 healthy Koreans (100 cases (M/F=53/47), 39.0±17.0 years). The purpose of this study was to make a Korean average-brain atlas and to measure its differences from a widely accepted average brain atlas built on an occidental population. The average brain atlas for Koreans was developed using widely accepted tools and procedures. The comparison between the Korean and occidental averages was performed using tissue probability maps and a registration tool, and it was shown that the global pattern of differences between the two average brains found in this work agreed with previously reported differences: Korean brains are wider and shorter in size, and smaller in volume, yet no hemispheric volume asymmetry was found.
