Settlement prediction has been conducted using Hyperbolic, Hoshino, and Monden methods, etc in the fields. These methods are only able to predict settlement after finishing the final filling stage. A new method is proposed to make up for such a weak point. This method was named as Kang"s method, which can be able to predict the settlement both the final filling stage and the staged filling from the initial filling stage in soft ground. To verify the applicability of this method, the measured settlement curve history was compared with the predicted one. The predicted settlement is well matched with the measured one. From the study, the Kang"s method can be possible to predict settlement during the staged filling with only the initial settlement data.

Simvastatin이 골결손부 회복에 미치는 영향

Purpose : To observe and evaluate the effects of Simvastatin-induced osteogenesis on the wound healing of defective bone. Materials and Methods : 64 defective bones were created in the parietal bone of 32 New Zealand White rabbits. The defects were grafted with collagen matrix carriers mixed with Simvastatin solution in the experimental group of 16 rabbits and with collagen matrix carriers mixed with water in the controlled group. The rabbits were terminated at an interval of 3, 5, 7, and 9 days, 2, 4, 6, and 8 weeks after the formation of defective bone. The wound healing was evaluated by soft X-ray radiography. The tissues within defective bones were evaluated through the analysis of flow cytometry for the manifestation of Runx2 and Osteocalcin, and observed histopathologically by using H-E stain and Masson’s trichrome stain. Results : 1. In the experimental group, flow cytometry revealed more manifestation of Runx2 at 5, 7, and 9 days and Osteocalcin at 2 weeks than in the controlled groups, but there was few difference in comparison with the controlled group. 2. In the experimental group, flow cytometry revealed considerably more cells and erythrocytes at 5, 7, and 9 days in comparison with the controlled group. 3. In the experimental group, soft x-ray radiography revealed the extended formation of trabeculation at 2, 4, 6, and 8 weeks. 4. Histopathological features of the experimental group showed more fibroblasts and newly formed vessels at 5 and 7 days, and the formation of osteoid tissues at 9 days, and the newly formed trabeculations at 4 and 6 weeks. Conclusion : As the induced osteogenesis by Simvastatin, there was few contrast of the manifestation between Runx2 and Osteocalcin based on the differentiation of osteoblasts. But it was considered that the more formation of cells and erythrocytes depending on newly formed vessels in the experimental group obviously had an effect on the bone regeneration.

We analysed 404 patients with primary lung carcinoma who were treated at Soonchunhyang University Hospital from July, 1985 to september, 1993 in order to investigate the survival rate and epidemiolgical properties of primary lung cancer. They were 330 males and 74 females. The most prevalent decade was seventh. In terms of cell type, the squamous cell was 225 patients (55%), and adenocarcinoma, small cell, mixed type was 21%, 19%, 4%, respectively. Among non-small cell lung carcinoma, stage Ⅲa was the most prevalent one(92%). In case of small cell carcinoma, the limited stage was 64%. The 12-, 24-, 36- month survival rate of total patients was 57%, 31%, 22%, respectivley and median sruvival time was 15 months. The 36-month survival rate tended to be longer in non-small cell lung carcinoma than that of small cell lung cancer, but there was no difference between two groups, statistically. In non-small cell carcinoma, The 36-month survival rate and meidan survival time were longer in the stage Ⅰ and Ⅱ than those of Ⅲa, Ⅲb, Ⅳ (80% versus 38%, 22%, 0%, p<0.05). According to involvement of lymph node, the 36-month survival rate was longer in NO and N1 than those of N2, N3 (61.9%, 48.7% versus 17.7%, 17.3%, p<0.05). In small cell carcinoma, The 36-month survival rate and median survival rate were higher and longer in limited stage than those of extensive stage(16.1% and 13 month vs 10% and 8 month, p<0.05). In conclusion, we report here the incidence of primary lung carcinoma and the survival rate of paients with primary lung carcinoma who were treated in Soonchunhyang University Hospital.

Introduction of digital communication network, such as ISDN(Integrated Services Digital Networks) and digital storage media have rapidly developed. Due to large amount of image data compression is key techniques, in still image and video using digital signal processing for transmitting and storing The method based DCT(Discrete Cosine Transform) is representative of the image compression. But recently, the image compression using DWT(Discrete Wavelet Transform) is widely studied. FPU is most important in the hardware design for DWT. In this paper, we proposed the high speed FPU(F1oating Point Unit) of DUT encoder for the image compression.

고음질 오디오를 위한 워터마킹에 관한 연구

In this paper, we proposed the high quality digital audio watermarking algorithm in the frequency domain. The spread spectrum technique is used t o encrypted a stream of information data a s much of the frequency spectrum a s possible. It's by spreading the technique adapt well to data hiding in audio signal. We have used the perceptual model and MDCT/IMDCT for the high quality digital audio watermarking. The proposed watermark algorithm preserved high quality audio data from watermark signal.

가열 및 저장중 고추 oleoresin의 지질산화 및 항산화성

Changes of lipid oxidation and antioxidative activity in modified oleoresin during heat treatment and storage were investigated. Lipid oxidation occurred somewhat to oleoresin red pepper after heat treatment for 5 hours at 150℃ and 200℃, whereas in the heat treatment at 50℃ and 100℃, occurred in little. During heat treatment for 5 hours at 100℃, oleoresin red pepper had a moderate antioxidation effect, but its antioxidation effect at 200℃ was not shown due to degradation of capsaicin. And oleoresin red pepper greatly inhibited the oxidation of soybean oil during storage at 25℃ and 40℃.

장치 및 미디어 관리를 통한 네트워크 기방 백업 및 복구

저장 매체의 대용량화가 가속화되면서 대용량의 데이터를 효과적으로 백업하기 위한 요구가 증가되고 있다. 본 논문에서는 네트워크 장치 및 미디어 관리를 통해 네트워크 기반 백업 및 복구를 지원하는 백업 소프트웨어를 설계하고 구현한다. 제안하는 백업 소프트웨어는 디스크 기반 백업을 지원하기 위해 NDMP 프로토콜을 확장한다. 제안하는 백업 소프트웨어는 전체 또는 부분 백업, 수동 또는 자동백업 기능을 제공한다. 또한, 사용자에 의해 요청되는 부가적인 작업을 처리하기 위해 pre/post 스크립트 기능을 제공한다. 제안하는 백업 소프트웨어는 백업 장치 및 미디어를 효과적으로 관리하고 이를 풀(pool)이라는 논리적인 단위로 관리하는 장치 및 미디어 관리 기능을 제공한다. As the size of storage media is growing, the efficient backup for the huge capacity data are required. In this paper, we design and implement the backup software that supports network based backup and restore with management of network devices and media. The proposed backup software extends NDMP protocol for the disk to disk backup. In addition, the proposed backup software has various features such as partial or full backup, immediate or automatic backup, and so on. It supports pre/post script to process additional actions for users. It also provides devices and medium management features that efficiently manages a large number of backup devices and media, and groups devices and media management functions that are managed by logical units called pools.

MPEG-II AAC 심리음향 모델에 관한 연구

Currently, the most important technology is the compression methods in the multimedia society. Audio files are rapidly propagated through internet. MP-3 is offered to CD tone quality in 128Kbps, but 64Kbps below tone quality is abruptly down and high bitrate. On the other hand, MPEG-I1 AAC (Advanced Audio Goding) is not compatible with MPEG-I, but AAC has a high compression ratio 1.4 better than MP-3. Especially, AAC has max 7.1 channel and 96KHz sampling rate. In this paper, the perceptual model is dealt with 44.1KHz sampling rate for SMR(Signa1 to Masking Ratio)

블록 암호화를 위한 Blowfish 구현

Blowfish is a symmetric block cipher that can be used as a drop-in replacement for DES or IDEA. It takes a variable-length key, from 32bits to 448bits, making it ideal for both domestic and exportable use. In this paper, the Blowfish unit is designed using pipeline architecture and correctly implements the algorithm with a focus on ease-of-design and ease-of-use without sacrificing too much speed or size. For the real time process of Blowfish, it is required that high-speed operation and small size hardware. So, the scheme of new adders designed has all advantages abstracted from other adders. As a result of this new adder designed, area cost increases by 1.05 times but the operation speed increases by 1.2 times.
