유아교육기관에서의 아버지 참여에 대한 아버지들의 경험과 기대 = Fathers` experiences and expectations of father involvement in early childhood education

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

This study examined fathers’ experiences and expectations of father involvement in early childhood education. In-depth interviews conducted with 10 fathers of young children revealed that the fathers perceived father involvement activities that provided opportunities for them to see their children’s daily lives in early childhood education institutions, parent-teacher conferences that facilitated their understandings of children’s learning and development, and father-child play activities that allowed the pleasure of physical movements as positive ways of father involvement. On the other hands, fathers mentioned that talent shows that involve too much training on part of the children, similar activities implemented each year, activities that take place without consideration of fathers’ time issues, and parent education classes as undesired types of father involvement activities. The results of this study revealed that fathers of young children expected special activities that facilitate positive father-child relationship, father involvement activities with opportunities for fathers to make contributions instead of remaining as passive observers, and activities that allow meaningful relationships with teachers and other family members.
