N/A Comparative analytic review on clinical, endoscopic and histopathological findings was done in 13 cases of young age (under 29), 446 cases of mid age (30~69) and 39 cases of old age (above 70) stomach cancer who were visited Department of Internal Medicine of Masan Koryo General Hospital from March 1981 to July 1985. The following results were obtained: The peak of age incidence was the 5th decade amounting to 36.8%. The ratio between male and female was 2.6:1. The main chief complaint of each group was epigastric pain and it was followed by epigastric fullness. The most patient had the duration of symptom from 3 months to 6 months. For old-age group, mid-age group, major site of lesion in the antrum, meanwhile body for young-age group. The most frequent type of gastric cancer was type III in each group by Borrmanns classification. For each group, adenocarcinoma was major cases in the view of histopathological findings, and incidence of well differentiated type adenocarcinoma were lower in young-age group than others.

Kimchi cabbage is a cool-season plant, but it is grown year-round to meet the high demand for kimchi production. Understanding the plant’s seasonal characteristics is crucial for ensuring consistent quality. However, kimchi cabbages are grown in diverse locations with varied growing conditions and soil types, which creates an obstacle for producing uniform kimchi. To address this issue, we conducted research on sensorial-related metabolites and glucosinolates to char acterize kimchi cabbages from four seasons in the Republic of Korea. Our fi ndings revealed that fall and winter-grown kimchi cabbages had higher levels of compatible solutes (proline and sucrose) compared to those from spring and sum mer. These diff erences are likely due to low temperatures after the heading stage and freezing soil that induces drought stress. Additionally, extensive pest damage in the spring and summer increased the bitterness of kimchi cabbage, which may be attributed to neoglucobrassicin. These kimchi cabbage characteristics were confi rmed with fi ve cultivars grown in Naju, Jeollanam Province, for the spring and fall seasons. Our study suggests that kimchi cabbages grown in spring and summer have similar metabolite levels and increasing temperature regimes, a trend also found in fall/winter-grown kimchi cabbages. This study is the fi rst attempt to characterize kimchi cabbage attributes grown during four diff erent seasons.
Tribological Performance of A1203/Ni0r Coating

The tribological performance of A1$_2$O$_3$/NiCr coating deposited on steel (SH45C) was investigated under lubrication. The parameters of sliding wear consist of normal load and coating thickness. Test result showed that there was no evidence of an improved bonding strength in the coating. However, the wear resistance of the A1$_2$O$_3$/NiCr coaling was significantly greater than that of the Al$_2$O$_3$ coating. It was eviclent that the residual stress for the A1$_2$O$_3$coating was higher than that of the A1$_2$O$_3$/NiCr coating from the Scratch test failure of coating. The bond coating played an important role in decreasing the residual stress. Also, it was found that the residual stress had d notable influence on the wear mechanism.

Plasma ceramic spray that is applied on a machine part under severe work conditions has been investigated for tribological behavior. The application of ceramic coatings by plasma spray has become essential in tribosystems to produce wear resistance and long life in severe conditions. The purpose of this study was to investigate the wear characteristics of $8\%Y_{2}O_3-ZrO_2$ coating, in view of the effect of post-spay heat treatment. The plasma-sprayed $8\%Y_{2}O_3-ZrO_2$ coating was studied to know the relationship between phase transformations and wear behavior related to post-spray heat treatment. Wear test was carried out with ball on disk type on normal loads of 50N,70N and 90N under room temperature. The phase transformation of phase and the value of residual stress were measured by X-ray diffraction method(XRD). Tribological characteristics and wear mechanisms of coatings were observed by SEM. The tribological wear performance was discussed in the focusing of residual stress. Consequently, post-spray heat treatment plays an important role in decreasing residual stress. Residual stress in the coating system has a significant influence on the wear mechanism of coating.
