        Background : In recent years gonorrhoea has been panendemic and remains one of the most common Sexually Transmitted Diseases in the world, especially in developing countries. Objective & Method : For the detection of a more effective therapeutic regimen and assessing the prevalence of Penicillinase Producing Neisseria Gonorrhoeae(PPNG), Ive have been trying to study the patients who have visited the VD Clinic of Choong-Ku Public Health Center in Seoul since 1980 by means of the chromogenic cephalosporin method. Results : In 1994, 168 strains of N. gonorrhoeae were isolated, among which 109 (64,9% ) were PPNG. Conclustion : Our results suggests that the prevalence of PPNG in Seoul is still increasing.

        As modern people's interest in health grows, wearable healthcare-related technologies that can collect biometric information and receive health-related services regardless of time and place are developing. This paper proposes the healthcare system based on voice recognition function. Unlike conventional wearable healthcare systems, the proposed system provides real-time telemedicine and diagnosis and the direct connection with doctors is possible through it. And almost all functions of the application in it are operated with voice commands to lower user access barriers. Because it deals with personal information including medical information, encryption algorithms have been applied between all data movements. Finally, the healthcare system proposed in this paper is expected to increase convenience in health care and reduce the medical gap.

        In the system using one sensor, to describe accurate situation or conclude from information of one source in difficult. Moreover, sensor noise degrades the belief of decision. Multisensor information system, however, can increase the belief of date by imploying more than one source of information simultaneously. Another advantage of the system is that it can accomplish its task with other sources of information when one source malfunctions. In this paper, we implemented data association methods to identity moving flight targets using distance, probability theory, Dempster-Shafter theory for the low level process in the information fusion system. Data association is to classify information from various sources into data groups depending for the same flight object. Times and errors of these data association methods are analyzed.

        Hydrogen embrittlement cause decrease of it's mechanical properties during hydrogen dissolved in steels. Many mechanisms of hydrogen concentration researches have done, but it is not clearly known yet. In this study the effect of plastic deformation and external stress on mechanism of hydrogen concentration by high temperature hydro-genation treatment were investigated. The main results are as follow : 1)For short time fracture process, a defect rate of chemical potential energy is an important factor on hydrogen concentration for delayed fracture of steel processed with high temperature hydrogen. 2)For long time fracture process, the important element is long range diffusion of hydrogen due to the rate of effective hydrogen density and plastic deformation. 3)hydrogen concentration as plastic deformation vary in proportion to slope of plastic deformation. 4)Hydrogen concentration due to the effect of external stress, but this effect is limited in short range. 5)External stress is an acceleration element for delayed fracture of steel.

      • 심한 골병변으로 발현된 기능성 낭종성 부갑상선 선종

        낭종성 부갑상선 선종과 심한 골병변을 동반한 부갑상선 기능항진증은 매우 드문 질환으로서, 저자들은 양측 고관절의 통증을 초기 주소로 내원한 환자에서 고칼슘혈증과 부갑상선 호르몬 증가, 골병변의 방사선적 소견을 통해 부갑상선 기능항진증을 진단하고, 경부 초음파와 컴퓨터 단층 촬영, 부갑상선 스캔검사 및 수술중 부갑상선 낭종액 검사 등을 통해 기능성 부갑상선 낭종의 한 종류인 낭종성 부갑상선 선종을 진단하고 수술적 제거를 통하여 정상화된 1예를 경험하였다. A cystic parathyroid adenoma is rare. A case of primary hyperparathyroidism, with the cystic formation of a parathyroid adenoma and a severe bony lesion, is reported. A 52-year-old male was admitted due to pain in both hips and for evaluation of hypercalcemia. The plasma level of the intact parathyroid hormone (iPTH) was elevated to 1424 pg/mL. Ultrasonography and the computed tomography revealed a parathyroid cyst on the left thyroid lower pole. Parathyroid scintigraphy detected a parathyroid adenoma. A radiograph showed a subperiosteal bone resorption on the phalanges, and a brown tumor (osteitis fibrosa cystica) on the femur shaft was noted. A surgical excision of the parathyroid adenoma was performed. The PTH level in the cystic fluid was increased. A histological examination confirmed a cystic parathyroid adenoma. The PTH level was normalized after the operation (J Kor SOC Endocrinol 18:214-220, 2003).

        동계 서해의 해황과 기상인자와의 관계

        동계 서해에서 해황과 기상인자와의 상호 관련성에 대해서 조사하였다. 수온의 수평분포는 수심이 얕은 연악역이 외해역보다 저수온으로 12월과 2월사이에 외해역에서 $3^{\circ}C$, 연안역에서는 $6^{\circ}C$ 정도의 큰 수온 하강을 보였다. 염분의 분포는 북쪽해역이 연안역과 남쪽해역보다 저농도를 보였다. 또한, 하계에 남북방향으로 형성되었던 등염선이 동계에는 북서에서 남동 방향으로 형성한다. 한국 서해연안의 기온과 연안의 표층수온 사이에는 기온이 상승하면 수온이 상승하고 기온이 하강하면 수온도 하강하는 정의 상관관계를 보인다. 서해 외해의 표층수온은 잠열속과 현열속에 의한 해양에서의 방출열량과 역의 상관관계를 보인다. 동계 서해 연안지역 기온과 연안역 표층염분과의 관계는 기온이 상승하면 연안역의 염분이 증가하고, 수온이 하강하면 염분이 낮아지는 정의 상관관계를 보인다. 또한 서해의 하계($6{\sim}9$월) 강수량은 10월과 12월보다 다음해 동계 2월의 염분분포에 크게 영향을 미치고 있다. This study was conducted to find out the effects of meterological factors on oceanic conditions when cold and dry continental air mass passes through the western sea of Korea The change of ocean conditions during the winter season were more obvious in coastal area than open sea And sea surface temperature (SST) during February is lower by $3^{\circ}C$ than December but in coastal area SST dropped by $3^{\circ}C$. As for the salinity, there was not much difference between areas except southern area of Mokpo. In the coastal regions, air temperature(AT) and SST showed a positive correlation; as the air temperature goes up with the increase of SST and when the former goes down the latter decrease. SST of open sea seems to be changed by latent (Qe) and sensible heat (Qs), when the open sea lose its heat by Qe and Qs then SST goes down And when they get the heat then the SST goes up. 1here was a positive correlation between the AT of the coastal region and sea surface salinity (SSS), when the AT goes up then SSS increase and when the former goes down the latter decrease. Precipitation during the summer seasons (June$\sim$September) appeared to the more closely related with salinity of February of the following year than those of October and December.

        Comparison of Various Single Chemical Extraction Methods for Predicting the Bioavailability of Arsenic in Paddy Soils

        The Codex Committee of Contaminants in Food (CCCF) has been discussing a new standard for arsenic (As) in rice since 2010 and a code of practice for the prevention and reduction of As contamination in rice since 2013. Therefore, our current studies focus on setting a maximum level of As in rice and paddy soil by considering bioavailability in the remediation of As contaminated soils. This study aimed to select an appropriate single chemical extractant for evaluating the mobility of As in paddy soil and the bioavailability of As to rice. Nine different extractants, such as deionized water, 0.01 M $Ca(NO_3)_2$, 0.1 M HCl, 0.2 M $C_6H_8O_7$, 0.43 M $HNO_3$, 0.43 M $CH_3COOH$, 0.5 M $KH_2PO_4$, 1 M HCl, and 1 M $NH_4NO_3$ were used in this study. Total As content in soil was also determined after aqua regia digestion. The As extractability of the was in the order of: Aqua regia > 1 M HCl > 0.5 M $KH_2PO_4$ > 0.43 M $HNO_3$ > 0.2 M $C_6H_8O_7$ > 0.1 M HCl > 0.43 M $CH_3COOH$ > deionized water > 1 M $NH_4NO_3$ > 0.01 M $Ca(NO_3)_2$. Correlation between soil extractants and As content in rice was in the order of : deionized water > 0.01 M $Ca(NO_3)_2$ > 0.43 M $CH_3COOH$ > 0.1 M HCl > 0.5 M $KH_2PO_4$ > 1 M $NH_4NO_3$ > 0.2 M $C_6H_8O_7$ > 0.43 M $HNO_3$ > 1M HCl > Aqua regia. BCF (bioconcentration factor) according to extractants was in the order of : 0.01M $Ca(NO_3)_2$ > 1 M $NH_4NO_3$ > deionized water > 0.43 M $CH_3COOH$ > 0.1 M HCl > 0.43 M $HNO_3$ > 0.2 M $C_6H_8O_7$ > 0.5 M $KH_2PO_4$ > 1 M HCl > Aqua regia. Therefore, 0.01 M $Ca(NO_3)_2$ ($r=0.78^{**}$) was proven to have the greatest potential for predicting As bioavailability in soil with higher correlation between As in rice and the extractant.

        Water-soluble thermosensitive chitosan copolymers were prepared by coupling Pluronic. onto chitosan using 1-ethyl-3-(3-dim-ethylaminopropyl)-carbodiimide (EDC) andN-hydroxysuccinimide (NHS) as coupling agents. The physicochemical properties ofthe resulting copolymers were characterized and they formed thermally reversible hydrogels, which exhibit a lower critical solutiontemperature (LCST) at 34.C in aqueous solutions.
