        We surveyed fauna of three inland wetlands, which situated in Mt. Halla National Park-Dongsuak, 1100 High Ground, and Baengnokdam. The total species number of birds observed at three areas was 44 species and the individual numbers were 140 of 24 species at Dongsuak, 204 of 29 species at 1100 High Ground, and 205 of 18 species at Baengnokdam. Species diversity and species richness were the highest at 1100 High Ground. The total species number of Amphibia and Reptilia were 5 and 6, respectively, and any reptile was not observed at Baengnokdam. Survey of mammalians was limited to only four species (Carpreolus pygargus tianschanicus, Meles meles melanogenys, Mustela sibirica quelpartis, and Tamias sibiriricus barberi) and appearance of M. sibirica quelpartis and T. sibiriricus barberi was restricted to Baengnokdam and Dongsuak, respectively.

        Theoretical analysis and experiment for supersonic flow around the wedges have been conducted. Wedges are being used as a means of measuring a flow direction, Mach No., a basic study of inlet or combustion chamber of ramjet and scramjet engine. We use a shock tunnel to get a supersonic flow conditions and schlieren system to visualize supersonic flow field around wedge. Numerical simulation is also conducted by Harten-Yee type 2nd-order Total Variable Diminishing(TVD) scheme and oblique shock theory. Comparison of calculated results with experimental data is in good agreement.

      • 저장전 Ca 처리가 온주밀감의 저장성에 미치는 영향

        ABSTRACT The storage effects of satsuma mandarin( Citrus unshiu. Marc. cv. Miyagawa Wase) by immersion in 4% CaCl2 and 1,300 folds diluted solution of Indasen(fungicide) were investigated. The pretreated citrus fruits at 35℃ for 24 hrs were stored at 3℃. 85% relative humidity, and at room temperature without humidity control. Soluble solids, acid content, firmness and vitamin C content of fruits were 11.41oBrix, 1.28%, 945.0 g-force and 45.61mg/100g, respectively. The pretreated fruits with CaCl2 did not affect weight loss, but was effective on reduction of decay ratio and retention of firmness in some degree. Ca treatment did not affect the change of soluble solids, acid content and vitamin C, compared to non-treatment. Coloration of stored fruits was improved with Ca treatment in a degree, furthermore coloration was progressed continuously on room temperature.

        농업인 평생학습체계 구축을 위한 농업인교육 발전방안 연구

        이 연구의 목적은 우리나라 농업인의 평생학습체계 구축을 위한 농촌진흥기관의 역할을 정립하고, 한국농업대학의 농업인대학 운영 본부화 방안을 수립하는데 있다. 이를 위해 관련 문헌고찰, 농업인 및 농촌진흥기관의 농업인 교육 담당자들의 인식 및 요구분석, 전문가 자문 및 협의회 등의 방법을 활용하였으며, 이를 토대로 도출된 연구의 결과를 제시하면 다음과 같다. 첫째, 농촌진흥기관의 농업인교육관련 연계를 위해서는 한국농업대학이 농업인평생교육기관으로 평가인정을 받고, 전국의 농업인대학을 총체적으로 지원하는 역할을 수행하는 것이 바람직하다. 이때 지역의 농업기술센터는 한국농업대학과 협력적 관계를 구축하여 학점은행제 운영에 소요되는 교육 및 이력관리를 지원하는 역할을 수행하는 것이 필요하다. 둘째, 한국농업대학의 농업인대학 운영본부화를 위하여 평생학습원의 조직이 추가되는 것이 바람직하다. 이에 따라 평생학습원의 비전, 미션 및 전략이 제시되었으며, 조직의 기능 및 세부과제가 제시되었다. 셋째, 농업인교육의 학점은행제를 도입을 위한 체계를 설정한 후, 농업관련 기존 표준교육과정 분석, 농업인 요구분석, 전국 농업인대학 교육과정 분석, 기존 농업관련 전공 교육과정 분석, 전문가 검토 등의 과정을 거쳐서 '영농 전문학사'와 '농업 경영 학사'의 표준교육과정을 개발하였다. 넷째, 고졸미만 농업인을 위한 사전학습제도화를 위하여 농업인교육의 평가인정을 통한 방안과 One-Stop 평생학습모델을 통한 방안을 제시하였다. The purposes of this research were to assign the role of rural development organizations, and to establish the strategy for the making headquarter of farmer's university. The study was performed as follows: (1) analyzing the related literatures, documents, records review, (2) need analysis of farmers and members ig rural development organizations in terms of farmer's lifelong learning, (3) consulting experts. The following four findings are the results of this study: (1) Korean national agricultural college should be headquarter of farmer's universities and be approve for lifelong learning credit. Also, agricultural technology & extension centers should run educational program for the lifelong learning credit. (2) For the doing role of headquarter of farmer's university, division of lifelong learning should be add to department of technology training in Korea agricultural college. In relation with this, vision, mission and strategy of division of lifelong learning were suggested. (3) Steps for introduction of credit bank system of farmer education were suggested. Also standard curriculums of 'farming associate degree' and 'agricultural management bachelor's degree' were developed through analyzing existing standard curriculum related with agriculture, analyzing need of farmer, analyzing curriculum of farmer's university, analyzing curriculum of agriculture major. (4) For farmer who do not have high school graduate, two solutions were suggested which are approving farmer's education and one-stop lifelong learning model.

      • 성인원외폐렴의 원인미생물에대한 전향적 다기관 연구 : 성인원외폐렴의 원인으로 세균의 역할을 중심으로

        Background : Communite-acquired peumonia (CAP) is one of the leading causes of mortality and morbidity. Despite progress in diagnostic techniques and treatments, management of pneumonia remains challenging, because the precise etiology remains uncertain in as many as 49% of cases. The limitaions of identifying etiologic agents make it necessary to use empiric antibiotics in almost all patients, and furthermore emergence of antibiotic-resistant organisms pose difficulties to the selection of an empiric antibiotic regimen. For the optimal choice of empirical antibiotics, we should know the frequency of etiologic agents and antimicrobial resistance rates in the community. Methods : A prospective multicenter study of community-acquired pneumonia in Korea was carried out between May 1997 and April 2000. The microbiologic diagnosis was based on the results of sputum culture, blood culture and pleural culture. Results : Five hundred eighty eight cases of community-acquired peumonia in 562 patients admitted to the hospitals. The mean age was 59.9 with male predominance (58.3%), and 370 (63%) had underlyin gillness. The etiologic agents were identified in 38.3%, and the list of individual agents, in decreasing order, was Streprococcus pneumoniae (21.7%), Klebsiella pneumoniae (14.8%) Pseudomonas aeruginosa (9.8%), Staphylococcus aureus (9.5%), viridans group streptococci (5.7%), Enterobacter cloacae (4.2%), Hemophillus Influenza (3.8%), The rates of admission to the intensive care unit was 10.4%. The motality was 7.1%. Susceptible rates of S. pneumoniae to penicillin was 36.6% and showed multidrug resistant. Forty percents of S. aureus were methicillin-resistant S. aureus. K. penumoniae were susceptible to cephalosporin and quinolone. Conclusion : In Korea, S.pneumoniae is the most important agent causing community-acquired pneumonia. Susceptible rates of S. pneumoniae to penicillin was 36.6% and showed multidrug resistant. Gram negative bacteria such as K. pneumoniae, P. aeruginosa showed high incidence when compared with that of other countries. Most of them had underlying diseases including bronchiectasis and chronic obstructive pulmonary diseases. (Korean J Infect Dis 33:1∼7, 2001)

        1-deoxynojirimycin (1-DNJ), a potent a-glycosidase inhibitor, has therapeutic applications in treatments of HIV, Gaucher’s disease, and diabetes. 1-DNJ has been extracted from natural sources (mulberry leaves) for therapeutic purposes; however, 1-DNJ ingredients are in limited supply and are costly to obtain on a large scale. Since certain strains of Bacillus and Streptomyces species reportedly produce 1-DNJ, they may serve as potential sources for high-yield 1-DNJ production. In this study, we obtained evidence for four bacteria that produce 1-DNJ in large quantities by high performance liquid chromatography and thin layer chromatography. Investigation of the effect of mulberry leaves powder concentration(1~5%), using the 1-DNJ high-production bacteria, provided evidence for microbial mass production of 1-DNJ.

        After the global food crisis in 2007 and 2008, world grain prices have rapidly soared. This brought about significant influences on global economy causing the ‘agflation’ phenomenon which describes inflation led by rises in agricultural commodity prices. The world grain market is also unstabilized by uncertain changes in weather and productions. Since Korea is one of the huge food import countries, food security has become one of serious challenges to Korea. Overseas agricultural development is emerging as one of promising policy options to stably secure foods. This is the third and final report which is a third year report of the three-year research. This study has tried to seek an alternative model and policy to establish an effective operating system for overseas agricultural development projects given that Korea"s entry into this field is relatively new and competition over overseas agricultural development is getting intense around the world. Additionally, the study suggested a model and strategies for overseas agricultural development. Previous research has been conducted about several issues as follows: In the first year research, the study attempted to provide a future direction and strategies for international agricultural development by grasping the historical progress and constructing a reasonable definition of the international development. In addition, this study provided information on the possibilities of the oversea agricultural development in Russia, Brazil, Myanmar, and Cambodia. Especially, the conceptual scope of oversea agricultural development includes physical and economic access to safe, sufficient, and nutritious food as well as the establishment of a food security system. In the second year research, the study focused on evaluating the implementation of a 10-year overseas agricultural development plan. In addition, the second year study provided necessary complementary measures and developed a new food security index to consider some elements influencing the world food supply & demand and the overseas agricultural development. In the final year research, the study provided action plans for promoting overseas agricultural development by regions, commodities, and types by reviewing successful private companies" strategies and evaluating their business models and analyzed the economic feasibility studies by analyzing financial statements and business performances. Finally, Based on the various results, the study drew up various desirable business models for successful overseas agricultural development.

        Flavonoids analysis about mulberry fruit of Korean mulberry cultivar, ‘Daeshim’

        Mulberry fruit is a new income product in Korea sericulture due to the increase of fruit consumption. However, flavonoids of Korean mulberry cultivar for fruit production did not reported yet. In this study, the typical mulberry cultivar, ‘Daeshim’ was analyzed using ultrahigh performance liquid chromatography coupled with diode array detection and quadrupole time-of-flight mass spectrometry (UPLC-DAD-QTOF/MS) technique for flavonoids analysis. Nine flavonoids were isolated and analyzed from Daeshim using UPLC-DAD-QTOF/ MS chromatogram. According to quantitative analysis, rutin (66.1 mg/100g DW) and quercetin 3-O-(6”-O-malonyl) glucoside (26.7 mg/100g DW) were abundant in mulberry fruit. Our results might be used as basic information for mulberry consumption.

        Report of 22 unrecorded bacterial species in Korea belonging to phylum Bacteroidetes, discovered during surveys in 2018

        The phylum Bacteroidetes covers phenotypically diverse groups of Gram negative rods that do not form endospores, and currently includes 6 classes, 6 orders, 33 families and 380 genera. Members of Bacteroidetes can be aerobic and anaerobic heterotrophs, hydrogen utilizing chemolithotrophs, or methylotrophs. They can be isolated from diverse habitats including terrestrial and aquatic environments, environments with extreme physicochemical conditions, and animal and plant hosts. During a series of extensive surveys of prokaryotic species diversity in Korea, bacterial strains belonging to Bacteroidetes were isolated from various sources of aquatic and terrestrial environments. A total of 22 isolates were obtained, which represent 22 unrecorded species in Korea belonging to 14 genera of 6 families. Sixteen species among them were assigned to Flavobacteriaceae, two species were to Sphingobacteriaceae, and single species was to each of the families Bacteroidaceae, Balneolaceae, Chitinophagaceae and Cytophagaceae. At genus level, Chryseobacterium (5 species) and Flavobacterium (5 species) were the most abundant genera, and single species were obtained for the genera Bacteroides, Baloneola, Terrimonas, Dyadobacter, Aquimarina, Arenibacter, Gillisia, Gilvibacter, Salinimicrobium, Winogradskyella, Pedobacter and Sphingobacterium. The detailed descriptions of each unrecorded species are provided.
