        Request and Question Perspective in Interlanguage Pragmatics

This paper is an interlanguage pragmatic study of request and question perspective. It aims to explore whether there are any differences in request perspective between American English native speakers and Korean EFL learners. To this end, this study employed a Discourse Completion Test, which consisted of eight situations. Data were collected from three different groups: native speakers of English; Korean learners of English; native speakers of Korean. The results showed that the learners deviated from native pragmatic norms in the choice of perspective in a relatively systematic way. The same held even more obviously in the use of please in interacting with request perspective. It was also shown that the mismatch between the native and nonnative groups in perspective was an instance of pragmatic transfer. The results suggested that the notions of imposition and politeness operated differently in perspective between the native and nonnative groups. It is expected that this study will shed light on the phenomenon of interlanguage pragmatics and the aspect of pragmatic transfer, revealing how learners differ from native speakers with respect to request perspective and what causes the differences.

        <P>An all‐solution‐processed flexible piezoelectric nanogenerator, composed of polycrystalline ZnO thin film and functional polymer layers such as P3HT/PCBM and PEDOT:PSS, generates energy through a mechanical rolling and muscle stretching system. On page 6022, Youn Sang Kim, Sang‐Woo Kim, and co‐workers show that this all‐solution‐processed nanogenerator is feasible as a piezoelectric patchable device and is promising for use in future energy harvesters such as wearable human patches and mobile electronics. </P>

      • 생물전극 반응조를 이용한 영양물질 제거

        We have investigated a performance of bio-electrode reactor for removal of nutrient like a nitrogen, phosphorus and organic substrate. Lab scale of bio-electrode reactor was operated with synthetic and tannery wastewater. Iron bar and stainless steel used for anode and cathode respectively. In experiment with synthetic wastewater, we were able to obtain the optimal current density range of 2.4-40 mA/dm² after 48 hrs operating time. And in that experiment, about 70~73% of ammonia nitrogen and 54~64% of phosphorus were removed. In experiment with tannery wastewater at 2.4-4.0 mA/dm², the removal rate of ammonia nitrogen, phosphorus and organic substract were about 62-69%, 45~59% and beyond 79% respectively.

        범불안장애 혹은 공황장애 환자에서 Mindfulness에 기반한 인지치료의 장기치료 효과 : 1년 추적관찰

        Objectives Mindfulness-base cognitive therapy (MBCT) has been used to treat patients with depression to prevent relapse. The purpose of this study was to examine the effectiveness of Mindfulness-Base Cognitive Therapy for patients who suffer with generalized anxiety disorder or panic disorder for 1 year. Methods 19 patients with generalized anxiety disorder or panic disorder were assigned to receive MBCT for a period of 8 weeks. The Hamiltion Anxiety Rating Scale (HAM-A), the Hamilton Depression Rating Scale (HAM-D), the Beck Anxiety Inventory (BAI) and the Beck Depression inventory (BDI) were used at 0 weeks, 8 weeks and 1 year to assess the results. Results MBCT demonstrated significantly decreases on all the anxiety scale scores (HAM-A, p=0.00 ; BAI, p=0.00) and depressive scale scores (HAM-D, p=0.99 ; BDI, p=0.00). The patients who received 8-week of MBCT showed a higher remission rate (15/19, 78%) during the 1-year follow-up period. Conclusion MBCT may be effective at relieving the anxiety and depressive symptoms of patients who suffer with generalzed anxiety disorder or panic disorder for 1 year. However, further well-designed controlled trials are needed to assess the value of MBCT.

        인터넷 및 통신 기술의 발달에 따라 원격 회의 시스템이나 원격 교육, 가상 대학과 같은 응용에 대한 연구가 활발히 진행되고 있다. 이와 판은 시스템에 기존의 중앙 집중 방식을 사용할 경우에는 서버측의 부하가 모두 집중되어 전체 시스템에 영향을 미치게 될 수 있으므로 분산 시스템을 이용한 연구가 활발히 진행되고 있다. 본 논문에서는 이미지나 텍스트-파일과 같은 자료를 필요로 하는 원격 회의 시스템을 설계하고 Factory 객체와 관계형 통합 데이터 베이스를 이용하여 동적 부하 분산과 동적 결함 허용을 제공하는 시스템을 제안한다. As the technigues of the Interned and Communication are developed, the study about its applications such as Remote Conference system, Remote Education and Cyber University are lively progressing. When the centralized method is applied to those kinds of system mentioned above, the load is mostly occurred in the server side anaitcauas bad effect to the whole system. So the Study about an application such as Remote Conference system, Remote Education and Cyber University is considering using the distributed system. In this paper I would like design a Remote Conference System is soogetled, which needs sub data like images, text files and givers dynamic load balance and dynamic fault tolerance using Factory object and Relational Integrated Data Base.

        In addition to accurate position and velocity control, force control is necessary for a successful robot operation. In this paper, we have designed a simple robot gripper using a DC motor. For its force control, a current feedback control law is presented without using additional force sensors. Experimental results prove the effectiveness of the proposed control law. A digital controller is also developed with a TMS320LF2406 processor.

      • Au를 공침한 SnO₂후막센서의 가스 감응 특성

        High selective and sensitive thick film type methane gas sensors were fabricated and their sensing characteristics for various hydrocarbon gases were investigated. Raw material, SnO_(2)/Au, prepared by coprecipitation was even grain size. SEM, TEM, BET and XRD analyses were carried out for investigation of surface morphology and crystalline structure. The thick film devices using the above materials exhibited high sensitivity to methane gas at the operating temperature of 400°C. The sensitivity of SnO_(2)/Au+Pd thick film devices to methane gas was higher than that to the other hydrocarbon gases such as iso-butane and propane. The optimal adding amounts of Au and Pd were 1wt.% and 3wt.%, respectively. The sensitivity, S, is defined as {(R_(A)-R_(G))/R_(A)}><100, which R_(A) and R_(G) are resistance in air and that in the gas ambient, respectively.

      • Cisplatin의 이독성 발견에 있어 초고주파 청각검사에 대한 연구

        Cisplatin은 비뇨생식기 영역의 악성종양 및 두경부 편평상피암에 효과적인 항암제로 이에 의한 이독성은 주로 와우의 기저부에 영향을 미쳐 고음역 난청을 초래한다고 알려져 있다. 본 연구의 목적은 Cisplatin의 이독성을 발견하는데 있어 일반적인 순음청력검사와 비교하여 초고주파 청각검사의 유용성을 평가하는데 두었다. Cisplatin을 단독 혹은 타항암제와 병용하여 투여한 11명의 환자, 총 22귀를 대상으로 순음청각검사 및 초고주파 청각검사를 실시하여 다음과 같은 결과를 얻었다. 청각손실이 없었던 경우는 5귀(23%), 저주파 영역(125∼8,00Hz)의 청각손실이 있었던 경우는 17(5%), 초고주파 영역(10,000∼20,000Hz)의 청각손실이 있었던 경우는 67(27%), 저주파 및 초고주파 영역 모두에서 청각손실이 있었던 경우는 107(45%)였다. 결론적으로 Cisplatin에 의한 이독성을 발견하는데 있어 초고주파 청각검사가 순음청각검사보다 유용함을 알 수 있었다. Cis-diaminedichloroplatinum, or cisplatin, is an effective antineoplastic agent against genitourinary cancers and squamous cell carcinoma of head and neck. Ototoxicity of cisplatin is cochlear damage with a predilection for involvement of higher frequencies. The purpose of this study is to evaluate the usefulness of high frequecy audiometry in detection of cisplatin ototoxicity compared with conventional audiometry. The auditory function of 22 ears of 11 subjects receiving cisplatin alone or combined with other antineoplastic agents for lung, esophgeal, and cervical cancers was sarially monitored with conventional audiometry and high frequency audiometry. The results are as follows : no damage, 5 ears(23%) ; low frequency(125∼8,000Hz) damage, 1 ear(5%) ; high frequency(10,000∼20,000Hz) damage, 6 ears (27%) ; and both low and high damage, 10 ears(45%). In conclusion, high frequency audiometry is more useful than conventional audiometty in detection of cisplatin ototoxicity.
