        Association Among Self-Injury, Suicidal Tendency, and Personality and Psychological Characteristics in Korean Adolescents

        Objective To compare mental health problems and personality characteristics between adolescents with self-injury (SI) and suicidal tendency (ST), including suicidal ideation and suicide planning. Methods The participants completed the Adolescent Personality and Mental Health Problems Screening Questionnaire, Third version (AMPQ-III), and Korean version of the Strengths and Difficulties Questionnaire (SDQ-Kr), and gave their demographic information. Based on the answered SI and ST items in AMPQ-III, the participants were divided into groups: without SI and ST, with SI and without ST, without SI and with ST, and with SI and ST. Analysis of variance (ANOVA) and post-hoc Scheffe test were used to determine group differences, stepwise multiple linear regression, and factors associated with SI and ST. Results ANOVA yielded results for all categories of mental health problems. Significant differences were observed between the four groups. Conversely, for personality characteristics, only the sense of community item between the group without SI and with ST and the group without SI and ST were significantly different; sense of community was associated with ST (β=-0.054, p=0.005). Among the mental health subscales, SI was significantly associated with conduct problems (β=0.211, p<0.001), emotional problems (β=0.173, p<0.001), peer problems (β=0.085, p<0.001), and prosocial behavior (β=0.073, p<0.001). ST was significantly associated with emotional symptoms (β=0.317, p<0.001), peer problems (β=0.130, p<0.001), conduct problems (β=0.106, p<0.001), hyperactivity (β=0.050, p=0.010), and prosocial behavior (β=0.062, p<0.001). Conclusion The findings highlight the necessity of assessing psychological strength, difficulties, and personality characteristics for the prevention and early intervention of adolescent SI.

      • 서울의 Penicillinase Producing Neisseria Gonorrhoeae 발생빈도(1994)

        Background : In recent years gonorrhoea has been panendemic and remains one of the most common Sexually Transmitted Diseases in the world, especially in developing countries. Objective & Method : For the detection of a more effective therapeutic regimen and assessing the prevalence of Penicillinase Producing Neisseria Gonorrhoeae(PPNG), Ive have been trying to study the patients who have visited the VD Clinic of Choong-Ku Public Health Center in Seoul since 1980 by means of the chromogenic cephalosporin method. Results : In 1994, 168 strains of N. gonorrhoeae were isolated, among which 109 (64,9% ) were PPNG. Conclustion : Our results suggests that the prevalence of PPNG in Seoul is still increasing.

        석탄회분의 융착형성 연구

        본 연구에서는 DTF를 이용하여 준역청탄인 Alaska탄의 회분과 deposit을 제조하고 조성을 분석하여 각각의 조성이 용융성에 미치는 영향을 고찰하였으며 ASTM 회분의 결과와 비교하였다. ASTM 회분은 alumina, silica, mullite, Ca-com-pound 등이 결정성으로 존재하는 반면 DTF 회분은 표면에 K, Fe, Ca 등이 농축된 구형의 drop이 만들어지는 것을 알 수 있었다. 또한 DTF 회분에는 mullite만이 결정성으로 존재하였다. Deposit은 용융후 고형화된 glass phase로 만들어 졌는데 Fe는 Fe^(3+) silicate로 전이되고 deposit하부에 Si가 농축되는 것으로부터 석탄 내의 무기물 조성 중에 용융을 지배하는 것은 Si인 것을 알 수 있었다. Alaska탄은 ASTM 회분분석결과로부터는 용융성이 강하게 예측되었으나 DTF에서 형성된 deposit 분석결과 표면에 부착강도를 낮게 하는 Ca가 농축되어 열전달면에서의 제거는 용이한 것으로 판단되었다. Ash and deposits were made using Alaska sub-bituminous coal in a drop tube furnace(DTF) and the effects of their compositions on fusion were compared with those of the ashes prepared from the ASTM aching procedure. It has been found that the ASTM ash includes alumina, silica, mullite, and Ca compounds as crystalline phases, whereas the DTF ash includes spherical drops with K, Fe, and Ca condensed on the surface. In a DTF ash, only mullite existed as crystalline phase. 'Che deposits existed as glass phases which were formed by solidification from melts, and Fe was transformed to Fe^(3+) silicate and Si was concentrated on the lower part of the deposit. This fact indicates that, among various inorganic elements in coal, Si controls the fusion. Although it was initially predicted that Alaska coal ash have strong slagging propensity based on the results of ASTM ash characterization, the results of analysis of the DTF deposits shows that the deposits can be easily removed from the heat transfer area because it is enriched with Ca which reduces the strength of its adhesion to the solid surface.

      • 페야쿠르트병을 이용한 오수정화시설의 유기물 처리 특성 및 서식 미생물 분류

        The average concentration of BOD, SS, TKN and T-P of influent were 94.81, 105.58, 9.72㎎/L, respectively. Also, these average concentration of effluent were 7.94, 2.98, 18.21 and 4.95㎎/L, respectively. The corresponding removal efficiencies were 91.33% in BOD, 97.18% in SS, 67.30% in TKN and 49.0% in T-P. The process of this system was maintained stably because of flowing by gravity. The media used for this study was Yakult filter with specific surface area of 130㎡/㎥ and surface loading rate of 28㎡/㎥. In this system, the removal efficiencies of SS and sludge were higher than those of activated sludge process. Twenty eight senora and sixty eight species of aerobic bacteria were identified from floating water and Yakult filters in the septic tank. Especially, only two strains of the bacteria were found from the effluent. Alcaligenes, Corynebacterium, Flavobacterium, Pseudomonas, and Staphylococcus of the bacteria were found, and they were known as excellent bacteria for the degradation of organic matter. Also, Alcaligenes, Bacillus, Flavobacterium, Micrococcus, Proteus and Pseudomonas, which can denitrification organic matter, were found and phosphorus removal bacteria, Acinetobacter was identified.

        We use the IDI type constant volume which is applied Indirect Injection strafied charge method to solve the problems of lean-burn such as misfire and cycle-variation. There are many factors to effect on the combustion charateristics in indirect injection strafied engine. The passagehole angle is the most important factor in that determine the direction of inflowed fuel and flame to the main chamber. In this study, we measured combustion pressure and wall temperature to examine the combustion characteristics and heat flux with the passagehole angle in the main chamber.

      • 수포성 유천포창 자가항체 IgG의 항원 특이성에 관한 연구

        Bullous pemphigoid is a rare autoimmune dermatosis characterized by subepidermal bullae. The sera of these patients mostly contains detectable autoantibodies of IgG which bind to the hemidesmosome of the cutaneous basement membrane. It is well known that there are two bullous pemphigoid antigen molecules, 230 kD and 180 kD proteins. Serum studies in Caucasian patients show that 50-90% of the patients recognize 230 kD antigen while 20-30% recognize 180 kD antigen. The purpose of this study is to exammine the antigenic specificity of the autoantibodies in molecular level with 7 Korean patients with this disease by immunoblot analysis, and to compare this with the data obtained from Western countries. In the immunoblot studies 5 sera among the 7 patients (71%) reacted 230 kD antigen, 3 cases among those patients (43%) recognize 180 kD antigen, and in 1 cases (14%) the serum was found to recognize both antigens;a similar proportional rate with that of Western data. The results suggest that there may not be a racial difference in the antigen molecule-related antibody specificity in bullous pemphigoid.

      • 진세노사이드 Rd와 사포닌 대사물인 compound K의 항지질과산화 효과

        To study on antioxidant effects in the liver of 40-week-old mouse, the sample were orally pretreated 5mg/kg/day for 5 days with red ginseng saponin components(total saponin, protopanaxadiol saponin, protopanaxatriol saponin, ginsenoside-Rd, ginsenoside-Re, compound-K) for 5 days. The ability of saponin to protect the mouse liver from oxidative damage was examined by determining the activity of superoxide dismutase(SOD), glutathione peroxidase(GPx) and the contents of glutathione, the level of malondialdehyde. The only protopanaxadiol among the ginseng saponin fractions was significantly increased the hepatic SOD activity(p<0.01). The red ginseng saponin induced a slight increase of GPx activity, especially ginsenoside Rd, compound K and protopanaxatriol treatments significantly increased its activity. The content of glutathione was significantly increased by total saponin, protopanaxadiol and ginsenoside Rd(p<0.01), but the oxidized glutathione level was lowered in all the red ginseng saponin. Finally, the level of malondialdehyde was significantly decreased by ginsenoside Rd and protopanaxadiol. In conclusion, protopanaxadiol and ginsenoside Rd among the saponin fraction were especially increased in the activity of hepatic antioxidative enzyme and decreased the lipid peroxidation that was expressed in term of MDA formation. This comprehensive antioxidant effects of red ginseng saponin seems to be by a certain action of saponin other than a direct antioxidant action.

        직접 황 회수공정에서 Ce_(1-x)Zr_(x)O₂촉매를 이용한 반응특성 연구 : H₂O 와 석탄가스의 영향 Effect of H₂O and Coal Gas

        본 연구는 직접 황 회수공정에서 H_(2)O와 석탄가스의 영향에 대해서 조사하였다. Ce_(0.8)Zr_(0.2)O_(2)촉매를 이용하여 H_(2)O가 반응에 미치는 영향을 조사한 결과, 산화제인 H_(2)O의 첨가에 의해 반응가스의 환원력이 저하됨을 알 수 있었다. CO/H_(2)O-TRP 실험을 통해서는 반응온도 영역에서 water gas shift 반응이 일어나는 것을 확인 할 수 있었고, H_(2)O의 재산화 실험으로부터 환원된 촉매가 H_(2)O에 의해 재산화 됨을 알 수 있었다. Ce_(0.8)Zr_(0.2)O_(2) 촉매하에서 석탄가스를 환원제로 사용하여 반응온도 (500℃), 공간속도(30,000 ㎖/g-catㆍh), [CO+H_(2)]/[SO_(2)] 몰비(2.5)의 반응조건에서 실험한 결과 최대 75.8%의 원소 황 수율을 얻을 수 있었다. 이는 환원제로 석탄가스를 이용함으로써 H_(2)O에 의한 부반응을 억제할 수 있었으며 경제적인 측면에서 유리하므로 공정기술의 실증화 가능성을 향상시킬 수 있음을 확인할 수 있었다. The effect of H₂O and coal gas on a direct sulfur recovery process using Ce_(1-x)Zr_(x)O₂ catalysts was investigated in this study. As the reducing power of reactants was lowered in the present of H₂O, the activity of catalysts decreased. Temperature programmed reduction experiments showed that a water gas shift reaction took place in the temperature range of this study and that the reduced catalyst was re-oxidized by H₂O. DSRP was carried out on Ce_(1-x)Zr_(x)O₂ catalysts using a coal gas as a reductant. Maximum 76.8% yield of elemental sulfur was obtained at 500℃ with a space velocity of 30,000㎖/g-cat·h and [CO+H₂]/[SO₂] ratio of 2.5. The side reaction by H₂O could be inhibited using a coal gas.

        Iridology, developed more than 100 years ago, is the diagnosis of medical conditions through noting irregularities of the pigmentation in the iris The purpose of this study is to compare interrelation between CVA, hypertension family history and cardio-renal connective tissue in Iris Constitution through iris constitution examination. The subjects consist of 114 patients who were examined in Iris Constitution at Chonju Oriental Medicine Hospital attached to Wonkwang Univ. from September. 1St. 2000 to August. 31th. 2002. 1. In the distribution of Iris Constitution, among of 79cases, There are neurogenic type 13cases, abdominal connective tissue weakness constitution 31 cases, cardio-renal connective tissue weakness constitution 6 cases, cholesterol 7 cases and others 22 case in control group. 2. There are familial history of CVA and hypertention 32 cases, no familial history of CVA and hypertention1 3 cases, in 35cases of experimental group. These results imply that there is meaningfulness of interrelation between cardio-renal connective tissue weakness constitution and. CVA, hypertention.
