        서모 사이펀식 히트파이프를 이용한 건식 바닥난방시스템의 제안 및 성능평가

        This research proposes a prefabricated floor heating panel system which is optimized through the real-scale model experiment. This system is alternated Cross Linked Poly-ethylene Pipe (XL pipe) by using thermo siphon type heat pipe that is used for a heat transfer tool in machine field. When applied this system to floor heating, floor surface and room temperature, operation form of boiler etc. are enough scope to apply to floor heating. Merely, the change of temperature of floor surface is serious because of no heat storage layer. This is the point to supplement through the optimization research hereafter. When we examine the data which is gained through the operating for 37days in winter, energy consumption characteristic between two systems turned at below zero 1.5℃. That is, heat pipe system was construed that energy expenditure of XL system is much more in lower than below zero 1.5℃.

      • 신축아파트에서의 환기량 변화에 따른 실내공기질 개선효과

        The recent indoor air quality problem in a newly-built apartment house is resulted from the improvement of airtightness performance and the use of the building material contained harmful chemical substances. As a result, these cause indoor air quality gradually to become worse and the harmful effect on occupant health called Sick House Syndrome. The most effective solution to improve the indoor air quality is to encourage the use of green building material. However, if the house is built with general building material, ventilation with outdoor air is alternative to dilute the pollutant concentration. The purpose of this research is to find optimum ventilation time in a newly-built apartment house at which the ventilatoris installed. It is found that the HCHO and toluene concentrations are remarkably decreased with the elapse of ventilation time and the concentration reduction rate is increased with increment of air change rate after one hour after operating the ventilator.

        Recently, there has been growing concern regarding Indoor Air Quality(lAQ) so that IAQ problems from insufficient ventilation and emission of toxic substance have become increasingly important issue. Although "regulation for air quality in the public buildings" was passed in May 2004, there are no criteria for IAQ of the new apartment housings in that rule however it is difficult to indicate the correct judgement grounds about IAQ to residents and to limit using building material which causes Sick House Syndrome(SHS). The government has been making "IAQ criteria of the new apartment buildings" since 2004, in order to determine properness of IAQ and present it to residents. For the purpose of grasping status on IAQ levels of the new apartment housings in this study, IAQ of approximately new eighty apartment buildings in Gyeungnam area was measured and The result of field survey of IAQ will be used to make Data Base for criteria about "IAQ of the new apartment housings".

        The effects of anesthetics on airway smooth muscle tone are important in the management of patients with asthma. Airway epithelial cells and vascular endothelial cells modulate the tone of the underlying smooth muscle by releasing relaxing factors such as prostanoids and nitric oxide (NO). Ketamine, at concentrations achieved with the usual clinical doses, has a direct relaxant effect on airway smooth muscle. In the present study we evaluated whether the relaxant effect of ketamine depend on any of the epithelium-derived relaxing factors. Isolated rat tracheal preparations mounted in water-jacketed organ baths filled with modified Tris Tyrode buffer solution with 100% oxygen at 37˚C for recording isometric contractile force. In the first experimental step, Tracheae, in the absence and in the presence of epithelium, were contracted with acetylcholine(10^-8M-10^-3M), and we plotted concentration -response curve for the Ach. And then we examined the inhibitory effect of ketamine(10^-5 and 10^-4M) on the concentration-response curve for Ach. In the second experimental steps, we studied the effect of N-omega-nitro L-arginine methylester(L-NAME) on the relaxant activity of ketamine(10^-6-10^-3M) on trachea contracted by 10^-5M Ach. In the result, 1) Removal of the tracheal epithelium did not change the response to Ach. 2) 10^-5M ketamine not significantly changed, but 10^-4 M ketamine shifted to the right the concentration-response curves for Ach in both intact and denuded epithelium rings. 3) L-NAME did not influence the relaxant effect of ketamine on trachea contracted by 10^-5 M Ach. These results indicate that ketamine-induced tracheal smooth muscle relaxation is epithelium-independent and may be is mediated by inhibition of Ca^++ influx in nonspecific way.

        A Phase II Study of Oxaliplatin Combined with 5-Fluorouracil and Leucovorin (Mayo Clinic Regimen) in 5-FluorouracilRefractory Colorectal Cancer

        Purpose: There are few therapeutic options in patientswith colorectal cancer that have progressed or recurredfollowing 5-fluorouracil (5-FU) based therapy. We evaluatedthe efficacy and toxicity of oxaliplatin, 5-FU, leucovorin(Mayo clinic regimen) in 5-FU pretreated advancedcolorectal cancer patients.Materials and Methods: Twenty-eight patients wereenrolled in this study between January 1999 and May2001. Patients were treated with oxaliplatin 150 mg/m2 onday 1 as a 2-hr infusion and 5-FU 425 mg/m2, leucovorin20 mg/m2, bolus for 5 days. Treatment courses wererepeated in 4-week intervals.Results: The objective response rate was 25% for 28assessable patients, all cases registered a partial response.Eleven patients (39%) demonstrated stable disease,and ten (36%) progressed. The median responseduration was 5.5 months, and the median time to progressionwas 6.3 months. The median overall survivaltime was 13.5 months from the start of the chemotherapy.From the 120 cycles analyzed, grade 3,4 hematologictoxicities included neutropenia: 1.6%, and thrombocytopenia:1.6%. The frequent grade 3.4 non-hematologicadverse reactions were nausea/vomiting (25.0%), diarrhea(14.3%), stomititis (3.6%), and neuropathy (3.6%). Therewere no treatment-related deaths.Conclusion: This phase II study had relatively highertoxicity than previous studies, and did not show anincreased significant response rate. These high levels oftoxicity suggest that the study treatment combination ofoxaliplatin with a full dose Mayo clinic regimen arm is nofeasible. Therefore, this regimen will be discontinued anda safer regimen will be adopted. (Cancer Res Treat. 2002;34:218-222)

      • Characteristics of Bird Community in Yeongsan Lake

        A total of 4,045 individuals of 47 species were observed in the Yeongsan Lake region of Yeongsan River between January and December of 2009. Dominant species, in decreasing order, included the Fulica atra (24.72%, 1,000 individuals), followed by the Larus ridibundus (17.31%, 700 individuals), Larus crassirostris (13.84%, 560 individuals), Mergus merganser (7.29%, 295 individuals), Passer montanus (6.18%, 250 individuals) and the Aythya fuligula (5.34%, 216 individuals). In terms of the total number of species observed per month, November showed the highest number at 23 species and September showed the lowest figure at 9 species. Furthermore, February showed the highest number of individuals at 2,382, and May showed the lowest number at 114 individuals. In relation to species diversity, May, despite being the month with the lowest bird count, showed the highest number of species as well as the highest level of species diversity (H') at 2.37 and species abundance at (Da) 4.22. Conversely, September, which recorded the lowest number of species observed, showed lowest levels of species diversity (H') at 0.37 and species abundance at (Da) 1.26. In terms of the seasons, summer (between July and September) showed the lowest species diversity, while spring and fall, which are migratory periods for migratory birds, showed high level of species diversity. This study observed 3 government protected species.

      • Avifauna of Wangsan Reservoir, Muan-gun, Jeollanam-do

        The study conducted in Wangsan reservoir from July, 2006 to August, 2007 found that the observed birds were a total of 747 individuals in 46 species and they were 18 resident species, 15 summer migratory species, 9 winter migratory species, and 4 passage species. Although there were a large number of species and individuals from January to March, the species diversity index was low at 1.24~1.73, and the species diversity index was relatively high at 2.58~2.67 from May to July when the numbers of species and individuals were high. In this research, 5 endangered species were observed.

        An ultimate purpose of efficient building energy management don't deteriorate amenity of living space and is minimizing energy use consumed for indoor environment control with heating, cooling, ventilation, lighting. PEMS based on WSN can apply to middle and small building not to be installed energy management system without constraint on installation place. It is composed of web-based monitoring database, system simulation, optimization software for energy supply and demand, real time monitoring system. This study suggest PEMS focused on real time monitoring system to induce users to self-activity energy saving and report on development strategy.

        Automatically Diagnosing Skull Fractures Using an Object Detection Method and Deep Learning Algorithm in Plain Radiography Images

        Objective : Deep learning is a machine learning approach based on artificial neural network training, and object detection algorithm using deep learning is used as the most powerful tool in image analysis. We analyzed and evaluated the diagnostic performance of a deep learning algorithm to identify skull fractures in plain radiographic images and investigated its clinical applicability. Methods : A total of 2026 plain radiographic images of the skull (fracture, 991; normal, 1035) were obtained from 741 patients. The RetinaNet architecture was used as a deep learning model. Precision, recall, and average precision were measured to evaluate the deep learning algorithm’s diagnostic performance. Results : In ResNet-152, the average precision for intersection over union (IOU) 0.1, 0.3, and 0.5, were 0.7240, 0.6698, and 0.3687, respectively. When the intersection over union (IOU) and confidence threshold were 0.1, the precision was 0.7292, and the recall was 0.7650. When the IOU threshold was 0.1, and the confidence threshold was 0.6, the true and false rates were 82.9% and 17.1%, respectively. There were significant differences in the true/false and false-positive/false-negative ratios between the anteriorposterior, towne, and both lateral views (p=0.032 and p=0.003). Objects detected in false positives had vascular grooves and suture lines. In false negatives, the detection performance of the diastatic fractures, fractures crossing the suture line, and fractures around the vascular grooves and orbit was poor. Conclusion : The object detection algorithm applied with deep learning is expected to be a valuable tool in diagnosing skull fractures.
