        Two New Speies of the Genus Psammocinia(Dictyoceratida, Irchiniidae) from korea

        Two new species of the genus Psammocinia (Dictyoceratida, Irciniidae), P. bergquisti n. sp. and P. gageoensis n. sp., are described from Gageodo Island (Sohuksando Island), Korea. P. bergquisti n. sp. is characterized by the thumb like appearance and secondary fibre which makes a broad plate or secondary web while other known species in Psammocinia has many narrow and simple secondary fibres. P. gageoensis n. sp. is very similar to P. mosulpia Sim 1998 in shape, but primary fibre of the new species has more complex fascicles and it is difficult to see the detritus in the fibre. The primary fibre of this new species is cored with the smaller sand than that of P. mosulpia. 한국 가거도에서 채집된 모래해면속(망각해면목: 가는실해면과)의 2 신종, 버키스트모래해면(Psammocinis bergquisti n. sp.) 과 가거모래해면(P. gageoensis n. sp.)을 기색한다. 버키스트모래해면은 외형이 엄지손가락 모양이며 지금까지 알려진 모래해면 속의 종들은 좁고 단순한 형태의 2차섬유를 갖는 반면 본 신종은 2차섬유가 얇은 판 모양이거나 넓은 망구조이다. 가거모래해면은 모슬모래해면(P. mosulpia Sim. 1998) 과 외형에서 매우 유사하지만, 1차섬유가 복잡한 총생모양으로 섬유 내부에 있는 모래와 골편들의 겉으로 잘 보이지 않은 점이 특징이다. 가거모래해면의 1차섬유 속에는 모슬모래해면의 1차섬유 속의 모래보다 작은 모래들이 있다.

      • 계배 조직내의 Netrin 유전자 발현

        발생중의 신경계에서 축색돌기가 표적에 닿도록 하는데에는 표적세포에서 분비되는 확산가능한 인자들이 관련이 있다고 생각되어져 왔다. 척추동물에서 연합신경의 축색돌기 성장에서 보면 발생 배 척수의 배쪽 midline에 있는floor plate가 이러한 역할의 확산가능한 인자를 분비한다. 이와 같은 인자로 여겨지는 두가지 단백질이 계배 뇌에서 막결합 형태로 분리정제되었고 연합신경 성장 촉진 활성을 가진 이 두 물질은 그들이 가지고 있는 독특한 작용에 따라 netrin-1, netrin-2라 명명되었다. Netrin-1, netrin-2를 encoding하는 cDNA의 클로닝을 통해 이 두 단백질이 C. elegans에서 분되는 축색돌기와 세포의 circumferential이동에 필요한 laminin계통의 단백질인 UNC-6과 유사하다고 보고 되었다. 이 상동성은 척추동물과 선충류의 척수에서의 growth cone이 유사한 분자적 신호들에 대해 반응함을 시사한다. Netrin-1은 floor plate에서 반응함을 시사한다. Netrin-1은 floor plate에서 �M현되는 chemotropic factor로서발생 과정의 척수에서 연합신경을 guide한다고 알려져있다. 그러나 netrin은 척수의 연합신경의 축색돌기에서는 chemoattractant로 작용하는 반명 활차운동 신경에서는 chemorepellent로서 작용한다. 본 논문에서는 발생중 10일째 계배의 뇌를 대상으로하여 RT-PCR법을 활용하여 netrin에 대한 molecular probe를 만들고, 이 probe를 사용하여 slot blot analysis를 시행함으로써 계배에서 장기별, 발생단계별 netrin의 발현을 조사하였다. 실험결과netrin의 발현이 RNA의 농도에 의존적이며, 실험되어진 장기중 뇌에 특이적으로 발현되고, 발생단계별로는 발생초기에 높게 발현되는 것으로 나타났다. The guidance of axons to their targets in the developing nervous system is believed to involve diffusible chemotropic factors secreted by target cells. In vertebrates, commissural axons pioneer a circumferential pathway to the floor plate at the ventral midline of the embryonic spinal cord. Floor plate cells secrete a diffusible factor called netrin, that promotes the outgrowth of embryonic chick brain. Cloning of cDNAs encoding entrin shows that it is homologous to UNC-6, a laminin-related protein required for the circumferential migration for cells and axons in C.elegans. Floor plate cells at the ventral midline of the neural tube express a diffusible chemoattractant, netrin, that attracts agroup of ventrally directed axons. Here, We made a netrin molecular probe by using RT-PCR in chick embryo E10, and then we show the differential netrin expression in various chick embryonic tissues as well as at the developmental stage of chick embryo by using slot blot analysis. These results show that netrin transcript is expressed at a concentration dependent and brain specific manner and mainly expressed at early developmental stage.

        Background : Mucins possess the unique function of protecting and lubricating the epithelial surface and other important functions such as call growth, direct implication in the fetal development, the epithelial renewal and differentiation, the epithelial integrity, carcinogenesis, immune regulation, cellular adhesion and metastasis. Purpose : This study was done to provide the significance of alteration of MUC1 and MUC2 expression in colorectal adenocarcinoma, A series of 131 colorectal adenocarcinomas including 11 mucinous carcinomas were screened immunohistochemically for their expression of MUCI and MUC2, Materials and mehtods : Of 131 carcinomas, 76 (58,5%) were MUCI positive and 91 (68, 9%) were MUC2 positive, In normal colonic goblet cells, MUCl was not expressed but MUC2 was expressed in cytoplasm, Conclusion There were up-regulation of MUCI and down-regulation of MUC2 in colorectal carcinomas, The frequency of MUC2 positivity according to differentiation was statistically reliable. (p=0.0001)

        A method of calculting the natural frequency corresponding to the first mode of vibration of beams and tower structures with irregular cross-sections and with arbitrary boundary conditions was developed and reported by D. H.Kim in 1974. In order to obtain the natural frquency by the presented method, the first step to take is to obtain the deflection influence surfaces. In design and analysis of a ny structure, the first step to be taken is to obtain this deflection influence surfaces. Any method can be used for this purpose . Then using this surfaces, deflections, slopes, moments, shears, and natural frequencies can be obtained by differentiating either the continuous function or discrete function defined at certain points. The merit of the presented method is that the natural frequency can be obtained by the deflection influence surfaces obtaining which is the first step in structural analysis.

      • 진공청소기용 팬 모터의 비정상 유동 해석 및 공력소음 해석

        The vacuum cleaner motor runs on very high speed for the suction power. Specially, the motive power is provided by the impeller being rotate on very high speed. And centrifugal fan consists of the impeller, the diffuser, and the circular casing. Due to the high rotating speed of the impeller and small gap distance between the impeller and diffuser, the centrifugal fan makes very high noise level at BPF and harmonic frequencies. In order to calculate the sound pressure of centrifugal fan, the unsteady flow data is needed. And Noise cause is dividing to fluid noise by exhaust flow of fan and vibration noise by rotational vibration of vacuum cleaner fan motor. Until now, measuring method has been used to measure vibration by the accelerometer; this method has been not measured for the vibration in some parts of brush and commutator because of motor construction and 3-D vibrating mode. This paper was purposed on the accurate analysis, using laser vibration analyzer, By using this measured data of noise cause against the difficult part in old times, we would like to use for the design of silent fan motor.

      • 상자형 곡선 교량의 근사해석기법에 관한 연구

        최근들어 고속도의 컴퓨터와 구조해석용 프로그램들이 과거에 비하여 훨씬 발전하였지만 상자형 곡선교량은 기본적으로 (1)휨모멘트 (2)비틂 과 (3)뒤틀림 의 3가지의 힘이 작용하기 때문에 해석모델의 구성, 계산, 해석하는데에는 많은 어려움이 따른다. 본 연구에서는 몇가지 곡선 상자형 교량의 근사해석기법에 대하여 유한요소를 이용한 범용 구조해석 프로그램을 이용하여 가상교량에 적용하여 보았다. 이에 격자해석보다는 정밀한 해를 얻을 수 있고 판요소를 이용한 근사해석방법보다는 간단하면서도 정도가 크게 떨어지지 않는 3차원 보요소를 이용한 근사해석모델을 제시한다. The behaviors of curved box-girder bridge are very complicate because of its curved geometry. Therefore there are some difficulties in analyzing the curved box-girder bridges although hardwares and softwares of computers are developed very much in comparison with the past. In this study, several approximate methods of modeling the curved box-girders are tested with general purpose structural analysis program based on FEM and their results from each modeling method are compared. The authors suggest an approximate method with 3D beam element which can give effective results of a curved box-girder bridge.

        사이버 가정학습체제 구축 모형 개발

        본 연구는 초·중등 사이버 가정학습체제의 구축 모형 개발을 목적으로 한다. 이를 위해 첫째, 사교육비 관련 현황 및 우리나라의 사회·현실적 요구를 분석하고, 둘째, 사이버 공간에서의 학습을 지원하는 학습이론을 탐색하여 얻은 시사점을 바탕으로 사이버 가정학습체제 개발 원리를 도출하였으며, 셋째, 학습이론적 적용의 틀을 기반으로 사이버 가정학습체제 구축 모형을 개발하고, 각 모형에 대한 세부적인 설명과 시행 시 고려해야 할 사항을 제시하였다. 사이버 가정학습체제 구축 모형은 체제 구성요소와 각 요소들 간의 관계를 도식화한 체제 구성도를 바탕으로 사이버 가정학습체제를 운영하는 활동 주체들의 역할을 정의한 운영 모형, 사이버 가정학습체제 내에서의 학습 유형과 흐름을 보여주는 학습 모형, 사이버 가정학습체제 내 학습 콘텐츠의 구성 기준을 제시하는 콘텐츠 모형 그리고 사이버 가정학습체제 내에서의 학습에 대한 학업성취도 평가와 체제 평가를 위한 평가 모형으로 구성되었다. 각 유형별 모형은 필요에 따라 하위 모형으로 분류되어 총 17개의 사이버 가정학습체제 모형을 제시하였다. 또한 사이버 가정학습체제가 사교육비 절감과 공교육 지원이라는 궁극적인 목적을 달성하기 위해 고려되어야 할 시사점으로 환경자원, 학습자원, 인적자원, 홍보 마케팅 등의 네 가지 측면으로 나누어 제시하였다. The study is purposed to develop a set of construction models for Cyber Home Study System(CHSS) to support the students' self study through internet at the level of elementary, middle and high school students. This is intended to reduce the over spending of the private educational payment, causing the social conflict and antagonism in Korea, and finally to support the public education. The study problems are as follows: 1. Analysis on the social and authentic needs for reducing the private educational payment which causes the social conflict and antagonism in Korea. 2. Setting up the principles to develop the construction model for CHSS to apply the learning theories in support of the learning in the cyber space. 3. Development of a set of construction models for development and construction for CHSS, based on the theoretical developmental principles. The construction model for CHSS developed in this study contains a systemic diagram of the whole CHSS, and 4 major models: a model for management, the model for learning process, the model for content design, and the model for evaluation. The systemic diagram for CHSS demonstrates various components, which consist of the whole system, and the relationship among the components. The model of management identifies the role of each organization by which the CHSS is operated. The Learning process model is classified with 9 sub-models converging on the three factors. These factors are the learner subject, the existence of tutor support, and the relationship to the local school. The models for content design proposes the guideline for design and production of learning content. The evaluation model is composed of three sub models: evaluation for individual learning achievement, evaluation for learning achievement of the tutor supported calss members, and the system evaluation. Finally, 4 kinds of suggestions is suggested to accomplish the purpose of CHSS in terms of environmental resources, learning resources, man power, and advertising and marketing strategies.

      • 골뱅이(Buccinum Undatum) 알레르기 : 감작률과 다른 음식물 항원과의 연관성 Sensitization rate and its relationship with other food allergens

        Background : The common whelk (Buccinum undatum) is one of the largest and most common snails in the North Atlantic. In Korea and Japan, common whelk is a popular eatable shellfish. Although shellfish has been known as the one of the most common causes of food allergy, there has been no published report on allergenecity and clinical significance of this sea snail. In this study, we determined the sensitization rate to common whelk and its relationship with other food allergens in allergy patients. Method : We carried out the skin prick test (SPT) with commonly consumed food stuffs in Korea including common whelk in 1700 patients over 1 year. The specific IgE to common whelk were detected by enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). ELISA inhibition test using sensitized sera was conducted. Results : SPT to common whelk was positive (≥2+) in 83 (4.9%) patients studied. Twenty-four (38.7%) of 62 SPT-positive patients had high serum specific IgE to common whelk. ELISA inhibition test showed significant inhibitions by abalone as well as by common whelk and, minimal inhibition were noted by shrimp. Significant correlation was also noted in specific IgE levels between common whelk and abalone (r=0.58, F<.05). Conclusion : IgE-sensitization rate to common whelk was 4.9% in allergy patients. Further stuides are needed to evaluate the clinical significance of sensitized patients to common whelk, and to confirm a cross reactivity with abalone. (J Asthma Allergy Immunol 24 : 77-84, 2004)

      • Selective hydrophobic derivatization on the surface of helical silica nanotubes

        <P><B>Abstract</B></P> <P>The chiral 1,2-diphenylethylenediamine derivative that is capable of spontaneous self-assembly was employed as an organogel template to produce a helical mesoporous silica nanotube containing gelators therein by following sol-gel polycondensation of TEOS. The synthesis enabled the successful introduction of the hydrocarbon of octyl silane (hydrophobic functional group) onto the outer surface of the silica nanotube while preserving the hydrophilic silanol (SiOH) group on internal surface of silica nanotube free from the gelators. This synthetic condition consists of a pre-stage of the introduction of a hydrophobic hydrocarbon functional group onto the outer surface of the silica nanotube selectively, and the post-stage washing of the gelators was presented together with a method analyzing the actions of organogels in the respective experimental processes.</P> <P><B>Highlights</B></P> <P> <UL> <LI> A hydrophobic octyl groups were introduced on the surface of silica nanotube with organogels. </LI> <LI> The hydrocarbons were derivatized on the outer surface of silica nanotube via TEM image mapping and TOF-SIMS spectroscopy mode. </LI> <LI> A synthesis process of derivatizing hydrocarbons on the outer surface of the silica nanotubes has been proposed. </LI> <LI> EA, LC and TOF-SIMS analyses were performed to confirm that the organogels remained in the silica nanotubes during the washing process. </LI> </UL> </P> <P><B>Graphical abstract</B></P> <P>[DISPLAY OMISSION]</P>

        Two New Marine Psammocinian Sponges (Demospongiae: Dictyoceratida: Irciniidae) from Korea

        Two new species of the genus Psammocinia (Dictyoceratida, Irciniidae), P. conulosa n. sp. and P. ulleungensis n. sp., are described from Namhaedo Island and Ulleungdo Island, Korea. Psammocinia conulosa n. sp. seems to be close to both P. amodes Cook and Bergquist, 1998 and P. hawere Cook and Bergquist, 1996 on the basis of the skeletal structure. However, these three species are clearly separated by the following differences: Shape of P. amodes is spatulate and thin, with a broad blade narrowing to a semi-cylindrical stalk; P. hawere forms cups with a shallow excavated bowl, and attached to the substratum by a narrow base. The whole surface of the new species is very finely conulose. Psammocinia ulleungensis n. sp. is similar to P. gageoensis Sim and Lee, 2001 in shape, but this species is easily distinguished from P. gageoensis by the simple skeletal structure.
