We investigated the effects of nitric oxide (NO) on quality, membrane lipid peroxidation, and antioxidantenzymes in mango (Mangifera indica L. cv ‘Tainong’) fruit during ripening. Fruits were treated with 0.25 mmol·L-1sodium nitroprusside (SNP) by the immersion method and stored at 23°C for 20 days. SNP treatment significantlysuppressed the respiration rate, enhanced fruit firmness, and decreased the rot index, peel color index, and weightloss in the fruit. This treatment also slowed the increase in soluble solids content (SSC) while maintaining highlevels of titratable acidity (TA), ascorbic acid (AsA), and phenolic compounds. Furthermore, SNP treatment enhancedthe antioxidant activities of superoxide dismutase (SOD), catalase (CAT), and peroxidase (POD) and reduced theactivities of lipoxygenase (LOX) and polyphenol oxidase (PPO) in mango fruit, which was associated with the reducedaccumulation of malondialdehyde (MDA), superoxide anion radical (O2•-), and hydrogen peroxide (H2O2) comparedwith the control. Therefore, the addition of exogenous SNP has the potential for improving quality and prolongingthe shelf life of mango fruits by protecting them against oxidative damage caused by ROS during ripening.

Under the engaging process, excessive temperature of clutch plates may lead to thermal failure. Existing research has failed to find the hot spot and the radial temperature difference real-timely. They also neglected the influence of dynamic sliding process and hydraulic characteristics. Thus, a multi-domain dynamic model of the whole clutch was proposed, involving the mechanical dynamics, the hydraulic dynamics and thermics. With the thermal resistance network method, the real-time axial and radial temperature prediction of clutch plates was realized. The highest temperature occurs on the friction pairs of axial middle and the maximum value occurs on the radial 5th mass. Compared with the results by FEM, the deviation is about 6.5 %, but the time duration is reduced significantly. Furthermore, the influence of the outer hub vibration (160 Hz, 0.2 Hz) on the dynamic characteristics was discussed. This work was tested to be an effective and good basis for the health prediction of wet clutches.

The turbulent thermal dynamics and mixing performance of kenics static mixer (KSM), lightnin static mixer (LSM) and Q-type static mixer (QSM) were numerically simulated with uniform heat flux within the range of Reynolds numbers (Re) between 6000 and 30000. The numerical predictions of Nusselt number (Nu) and friction coefficient (f) in KSM were well consistent with the experimental data. The dean vortices, thermal resistance, entropy generation and field synergy were fully analyzed to obtain the enhancement mechanism of heat transfer performance. The synergy performance between temperature gradient and flow field firstly decreased and then increased and are superior to that of KSM with increasing Re. With the same Re, the entropy generation rates of LSM are 0.93-0.94 times that of QSM. LSM is a better alternative consideration for convection mixing and heat transfer enhancement. Two new relationships between Nu and f under different dimensionless uniform heat flux are obtained.

Purpose The epidemiology of B-cell non-Hodgkin lymphoma (BNHL) in Asia is not well described, and rates of second primary malignancies (SPM) in these patients are not known. We aimed to describe temporal changes in BNHL epidemiology and SPM incidence in Korea. Materials and Methods A retrospective cohort study used claims data from the National Health Insurance Service that provides universal healthcare coverage in Korea. Newly diagnosed patients aged at least 19 years with a confirmed diagnosis of one of six BNHL subtypes (diffuse large cell B-cell lymphoma [DLBCL], small lymphocytic and chronic lymphocytic [CLL/SLL], follicular lymphoma [FL], mantle cell lymphoma [MCL], marginal zone lymphoma [MZL], and lymphoplasmacytic lymphoma/Waldenström’s macroglobulinemia [WM]) during the period 2006-2015 were enrolled and followed up until death, dis-enrolment, or study end, whichever occurred first. Patients with pre-existing primary cancers prior to the diagnosis of BNHL were excluded. Results A total of 19,500 patients with newly diagnosed BNHL were identified out of 27,866 with non-Hodgkin lymphoma (NHL). DLBCL was the most frequently diagnosed subtype (41.9%-48.4% of NHL patients annually, 2011-2015). Standardized incidence of the six subtypes studied per 100,000 population increased from 5.74 in 2011 to 6.96 in 2015, with most increases in DLBCL, FL, and MZL. The incidence (95% confidence interval) of SPM per 100 person-years was 2.74 (2.26-3.29) for CLL/SLL, 2.43 (1.57-3.58) for MCL, 2.41 (2.10-2.76) for MZL, 2.23 (2.07-2.40) for DLBCL, 1.97 (1.61-2.38) for FL, and 1.41 (0.69-2.59) for WM. Conclusion BNHL has been increasingly diagnosed in Korea. High rates of SPM highlight the need for continued close monitoring to ensure early diagnosis and treatment.

Background: Mayer-Rokitansky-Küster-Hauser (MRKH) syndrome is a severe congenital disorder characterized by vaginal hypoplasia caused by dysplasia of the Müllerian duct. Patients with MRKH syndrome often require nonsurgical or surgical treatment to achieve satisfactory vaginal length and sexual outcomes. The extracellular matrix has been successfully used for vaginal reconstruction. Methods: In this study, we developed a new biological material derived from porcine vagina (acellular vaginal matrix, AVM) to reconstruct the vagina in Bama miniature pigs. The histological characteristics and efficacy of acellularization of AVM were evaluated, and AVM was subsequently transplanted into Bama miniature pigs to reconstruct the vaginas. Results: Macroscopic analysis showed that the neovaginas functioned well in all Bama miniature pigs with AVM implants. Histological analysis and electrophysiological evidence indicated that morphological and functional recovery was restored in normal vaginal tissues. Scanning electron microscopy showed that the neovaginas had mucosal folds characteristics of normal vagina. No significant differences were observed in the expression of CK14, HSP47, and α-actin between the neovaginas and normal vaginal tissues. However, the expression of estrogen receptor (ER) was significantly lower in the neovaginas than in normal vaginal tissues. In addition, AVM promoted the expression of β-catenin, c-Myc, and cyclin D1. These results suggest that AVM might promotes vaginal regeneration by activating the β-catenin/c-Myc/cyclin D1 pathway. Conclusion: This study reveals that porcine-derived AVM has potential application for vaginal regeneration. Dynamic analysis and control strategy of wet clutches during torque phase of gear shift
Yanxiao Fu,Yanfang Liu,Liangyi Cui,Xiangyang Xu 대한기계학회 2016 JOURNAL OF MECHANICAL SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY Vol.30 No.4
Control over the clutch during gear shift is the key technique in automatic transmission shift control and this control largely decides the shift quality. The engagement of the on-coming clutch and the disengagement of the off-going clutch should be controlled synchronously and accurately to achieve a smooth shift. Optimal control of clutch torque exchange phase is required to achieve this synchronous and accurate control. Shift quality can be easily influenced with inappropriate control parameters because of the many factors that affect the torque phase, as well as the use of closed-loop control. In this study, a dynamic model of frictional clutch with electro-hydraulic shift control is built. On the basis of the study of the influence of clutch-related parameters, an optimal control model is proposed with the closed-loop control together with an adaptive control method based on micro-slip clutch control. This control method can continually self-adjust control parameters to prevent shock, improve control precision and effectively reduce the calibration work after. Test result shows that this closed loop with adaptive method ensures consistently good shift quality.
The drag characteristics prediction of multi-plate frictional wet clutches in vehicle transmissions
Minghui Zhang,Yanfang Liu,Tianyan Liu,Xiangyang Xu,Jin Xu,Yudong Zhang 대한기계학회 2023 JOURNAL OF MECHANICAL SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY Vol.37 No.7
The multi-plate frictional wet clutch is one of the most important components in automatic transmissions. With the increasing of the rotational speed, the phenomena is tested that the drag torque firstly increases to the peak torque, and then decreases to a lower level and maintains within a certain range, and finally increases rapidly again. A fluid-structure coupled model of the whole wet clutch was established. The simulation results show that the pressure distribution is obviously nonuniform either on the frictional surface or between two sides of the clutch plate. The nonuniform pressure would cause the axial and deflection motion and so the impact would occur, which is the main reason for the drag torque’s increasing under high rotational speed. Based on the simulated results, a prediction model was built with the direct artificial neural network method. The test results show that the drag characteristics prediction model is effective and fast.
