This paper deals with second order differential equations with different deviated arguments ${\alpha}$(t) and ${\beta}$(t, ${\mu}$(t)). We investigate the existence of solutions of such problems with nonlinear mixed boundary conditions. To obtain corresponding results we apply the monotone iterative technique and the lower-upper solutions method. Two examples demonstrate the application of our results.

Sauerkraut is a traditionally fermented cabbage, with a unique taste and beneficial properties, in northeast China. The taste and flavor of sauerkraut vary from region to region, owing to the differences in microorganisms. Illumina MiSeq sequencing was used to identify and quantify the microbial community composition of the broth and leaves of the naturally fermented Suan-cai collected from northeast China. The alpha and beta diversity of the samples from three areas in Heilongjiang province shown that the complexity of bacterial diversity of the three samples was C, A and B in turn. The Lactobacillus widely existed in fermented sauerkraut, of these, Latilactobacillus sakei, Loigolactobacillus coryniformis subsp. torquens, Lactiplantibacillus plantarum subsp. plantarum, and Secundilactobacillus malefermentans were more abundant in the sauerkraut leaves than in fermentation broth. Other genera of lactic acid bacteria Pediococcus and Leuconostoc, which have potential probiotic properties, were also present. However, some harmful bacteria such as Arcobacter and Acinetobacter were also detected.

China is undertaking an energy reform from fossil fuels to clean energy to accomplish CO2 intensity (CI)reduction commitments. After hydropower, nuclear energy is potential based on breadthwise comparisonwith the world and analysis of government energy consumption (EC) plan. This paper establishes aCI energy policy response forecasting model based on national and provincial EC plans. This model isthen applied in Fujian Province to predict its CI from 2016 to 2020. The result shows that CI declines at arange of 43%e53% compared to that in 2005 considering five conditions of economic growth in 2020. Furthermore, Fujian will achieve the national goals in advance because EC is controlled and nuclearenergy ratio increased to 16.4% (the proportion of non-fossil in primary energy is 26.7%). Finally, thedevelopment of nuclear energy in China and the world are analyzed, and several policies for energyoptimization and CI reduction are proposed.

In this article, the fault detection (FD) reduced-order filtering problem is investigated for a family of polytopic uncertain continuous-time Markovian jump linear systems (MJLSs) with time-varying delays. Under meeting the the premise of fault detection accuracy, the reduced order fault detection filters are desirable in applications where fast data processing and saving computing space are necessary. Then, by the aid of the Markovian Lyapunov-Krasovskii functional and convex polyhedron techniques, some novel time-varying delays and polytopic uncertain sufficient conditions are proposed to insure the existence of the FD reduced-order filter. Finally, a simulated continuous stirred tank reactor process example is provided to verify the feasibility of the proposed methodology.
Effects of Dietary Acetyl-L-Carnitine on Meat Quality and Lipid Metabolism in Arbor Acres Broilers
Zhang, Yong,Ma, Qiugang,Bai, Xiumei,Zhao, Lihong,Wang, Qiang,Ji, Cheng,Liu, Laiting,Yin, Haicheng Asian Australasian Association of Animal Productio 2010 Animal Bioscience Vol.23 No.12
An experiment was conducted to evaluate the effects of dietary acetyl-L-carnitine (ALC) on growth performance, carcass characteristics, meat quality and lipid metabolism in broilers. A total of 240 one-day-old male Arbor Acres broilers were randomly allocated to 4 dietary treatments (0, 300, 600, and 900 mg/kg dietary ALC supplementation, respectively). Compared with the control treatment, addition of ALC resulted in lower (linear effect, p<0.05) ADG and AFI. Abdominal fat percentage decreased (linear effect, p<0.05) as dietary ALC was increased, but there was no effect on dressing percentage, breast muscle percentage or thigh muscle percentage. Breast muscle pH value 24 h post-mortem increased (linear effect, p<0.05), but there were no significant differences among treatments. However, thigh muscle pH value increased (linear effect, p<0.05) as dietary ALC was increased. Breast and thigh muscle $a^*$ values increased (linear effect, p<0.05), and breast and thigh muscle $b^*$ values decreased (linear effect, p<0.05) with increased ALC in the diet. In addition, breast and thigh muscle shear force value decreased (linear effect, p<0.05) as dietary ALC was increased. Total cholesterol, triglyceride, low-density lipoprotein cholesterol and lipoprotein lipase decreased (linear effect, p<0.05) and free fatty acid and lipase in serum increased (linear effect, p<0.05) with increased ALC in diets.

Aluminum clad steel (ACS) sheets are heat treated by electrically assisted rapid heat treatment (subsecond duration) to balance their strength and ductility. The results of microstructural analysis show that the electric current results in the formation of different intermetallic compounds (IMCs) attributed to the rapid heating and the athermal effect of the electric current. The different IMCs affect the interfacial bonding strength and the mechanical properties of the ACS sheet. The tensile tests suggest that the yield strength of the ACS sheet gradually decreases, while the elongation gradually increases up to the current density of 170 A/mm2. In contrast, a higher current density of 190 A/mm2 dramatically increases the thickness of the IMC layer, resulting in premature fracture of the ACS sheet due to early interfacial debonding. The fracture mechanism is found to be a matrix-dominated fracture or interfacial IMC-dominated fracture depending on the applied current density. Moreover, the U-shape forming test confirms that the enhanced interfacial bonding strength and favorable formability of the ACS sheet can be achieved by repeatedly applying the electric pulses of 170 A/mm2 four times rather than using the single electric pulse of 190 A/mm2 due to the formation of a thick IMC layer under the high current density of 190 A/mm2. The present study proves that the electrically assisted rapid heat treatment is an efficient method to balance the strength and formability of the ACS sheet.

The objective of this study was to clarify the relationship between the effect and associated mechanisms of lithium chloride on neural stem cells (NSCs) and the Wnt signaling pathway. The expression of key molecules proteins related to the Wnt signaling pathway in the proliferation and differentiation of control NSCs and lithium chloride-treated NSCs was detected by Western blot analysis. Flow cytometry analysis was applied to study the cell cycle dynamics of control NSCs and NSCs treated with lithium chloride. The therapeutic concentrations of lithium chloride stimulated NSC proliferation. β-catenin expression gradually decreased, while Gsk-3β expression gradually increased (P < 0.01). Furthermore, NSCs treated with lithium chloride showed significantly enhanced β-catenin expression and inhibited Gsk-3β expression in a dosedependent manner. NSCs in the G0/G1-phases were activated with an increased therapeutic concentration of lithium chloride, while NSCs in the S-phase, as well as G2/M-phases, were arrested (P < 0.01). These data confirm that the proliferation of NSCs is remarkably promoted through changes of cell dynamics after treatment with lithium chloride. Our results provide insight into the effects of lithium chloride in promoting the proliferation abilities of NSCs in vitro and preventing the cells from differentiating, which is potentially mediated by activation of the Wnt signaling pathway.
Enhancement of thermal stability and chemical reactivity of phenolic resin ameliorated by nanoSiO2
Yajun Guo,Lihong Hu,Puyou Jia,Baofang Zhang,Yonghong Zhou 한국화학공학회 2018 Korean Journal of Chemical Engineering Vol.35 No.1
Phenolic resin has unsatisfactory thermal stability owing to the poor anti-oxidation property of methylene and phenol groups. To overcome this defect, a series of phenolic resin modified by nanoSiO2 based on the tetraethoxysilane (TEOS) was successfully prepared via sol-gel method using phenol as solvent. The effect of nanoSiO2 on the structures and properties of phenolic resin/foam was investigated. TGA and DTG indicated that the initial decomposition temperature of PR-0.5 (TEOS accounted for 0.5% of phenolic resin) was 41.8 oC higher than the neat PR-0. DSC revealed that the peak temperature presented a parabolic shape with the dosage of the TEOS, its maximal value resting on the PR-0.5. FT-IR and XRD demonstrated that chemical crosslink was reacted between PR and nanoSiO2 hydrolyzed by the TEOS, forming new chemical bands. Reactivity analysis illustrated that the free phenol content and the hydroxymethyl group content changed sharply in PF-0.5, implying it has highest reactivity.
