        정상 한국인에서 연령증가에 따른 혈장 Dehydroepiandrosteronesulfate ( DHEA-S ) 농도 및 DHEA - S / cortisol 비의 변화

        Backgroud: DHEA-S is the most abundant steroid hormone in circulation, and primarily secreted from the adrenal cortex, but its physiological role is little known. One of the characteristic features of DHEA-S is progressive decrement of plasma DHEA-S level with advancing age, in contrast, plasma levels of other adrenal hormones are not chaging or littie decreasing. To grasp the trends of plasma DHEA-S level and DHEA-S/cortisol ratio by age in healthy Korean, we measured the plasma DHEA-S levels and DHEA-S/cortisol ratios in healthy Korean. Methods: Healthy Korean(men: 99, women: 102, age range: 15-97 year old)were studied. Subjects were not taking drugs(such as glucocorticoid or androgenic medication) or cigarettes known to modify the plasma level of DHEA-S and cortisol, and had no evidence of hepatic, renal disease or hyperlipidemia as determined by serum lipid, bilirubin, SGOT, SGPT, BUN, creatinine. Data were analyzed by 10-year age group for men and women: i.e, 10-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40- 49, 50-59, 60-69, 70-79, 80-89 and 90 year or more. Plasma DHEA-S levels were measured by using a commercially available RIA kit with 125I labeled-DHEA-SO4(Coat-A Count DHEA-SO4), and for the measurement of plasma cortisol levels, commercial Gamma Coat TM[125I] Cortisol Radioimmunassay Kit was used. Results:. 1) In both men and women, plasma DHEA-S level showed high interindividual variation within the same age group. 2) There were individual sex differences in plasma levels of DHEA-S, in all age groups, plasma DHEA-S levels were significantly higher values for men than for women. 3) Maximum plasma DHEA-S levels(men; 237+-3.35 ug/dL, women; 108+-17.5 ug/dL) were at third decade in both men and women. 4) Both men and women showed the continuous decline in plasma DHEA-S level with age. These age-related decline was more prominent in men than in women(men; y= -3.152 * +292.6, r2= 0.8459, P$lt;0.05, women; y= -1.417 * +143.3, r2 = 0.7278, P$lt; 0.05). 5) As an index of aging, there was no stastical difference between DHEA-S and DHEA- S/cortisol ratio. Conclusion: In healthy Korean, there were high interindividual variation of plasrna DHEA-S levels. In both men and women plasma DHEA-S level was peak at third decade, and from when it declined progressively with age. These results suggest that although the reliability of single plasma DHEA-S measurement are limited, the decline of DHEA-S with advancing age might be a specific marker of endocrinologic hormonal milieu(aging index). Also, concerning to individual adrenal secreting capacity, we measured DHEA-S/cortisol ratio. But we did not found that plasma DHEA-S/cortisol ratio is superior to the plasma DHEA-S level as an aging index. (J Kor Soc Endocrinol 12:245-254, 1997)

        The Tragedy of Pudd’nhead Wilson에서 정체성의 문제

        This novel is the story of a young man’s mistaken identity. He thinks he is white, but is in reality colored, and he is heir to wealth without knowing his claim is false. He lives as a free man, but is legally a slave. When he learns ― a true fact about himself, he comes to ruin not through the knowledge of his physical status, but through the weakness belonging to both races. The psychological twins in this novel are switched identities, mistaken identities, and foils. Thomas a Becket Driscoll and Chambre de Valet are switched identities, and so they are naturally mistaken ones at the same time. David Wilson and Roxy are mistaken identities and they also become foils to each other. In fact, the false Tom is a foil to David Wilson, not to Chambers. Like this, the major characters of the novel are interrelated with each other. The fictional and conventional injurious effects of the slavery which represented largely centering around the life and consciousness of Roxy, Tom and Chambers falls to the white masters as well as the negro slaves. The slaves lead a forced and implanted lives instead of their own, which results in the loss of their self-interest and even self-identity amid the mire of fictious institutional fetters. The Psychological twins’ effort of trying to discover their true identities all come to end in a nightmare. Such result is specially notable in Mark Twain’s later novels through his deepening pessimism in his later years. His conclusion may be that man’s true identity cannot be found and held up in the social situation of “damned human race” in which there prevail the acquisitiveness of the Gilded Age, race prejudice, hypocritical view of religion, man’s cruelty with each other, neo-aristocracy, and miscegenation.

      • Incisional Hernia in Adult Liver Transplant Recipients

        Aims: Incisional hernia is one of the complication following abdominal operation. Patients undergoing liver transplantation have a high risk of developing an incisional hernia because of immunosuppression. The purpose of this study is to review incisional hernia cases after liver transplantation and to identify the risk factors for hernia formation. Methods: We retrospectively reviewed and analyzed the medical records of the ninety-four incisional hernia patients after liver transplant recipients from January 2000 to December 2015 in single center institution. Results: 1463 underwent adult liver transplantation during the study period. 94 Incisional hernia patients were found among them. The overall incisional hernia rate was 6.4 %. Mean age was 54 years old and 76.6 % were men. No significant difference was observed for sex, diagnosis, smoking, alcohol, albumin, Child-Pugh score, MELD score, intensive care unit stay, hepatorenal syndrome, ventilator, spontaneous bacterial peritonitis, diabetes, bile leakage, wound problems between patients with incisional hernia and patients without incisional hernia. The characteristics of patients with incisional hernia showed old recipient, more body weight, higher body mass index, living donor recipient compared with patients without incisional hernia. Hypertension, tuberculosis, rejection, postoperative complication event before hernia were significant risk factor (p<0.05). Conclusions: Present study identifies the risk factors for incisional hernia. Surgeons should strive to reduce the risk of incisional hernia after adult liver transplantation.

      • 실험적 간암의 전암병변에 관한 면역 조직화학적 및 유세포 계측 연구 : C-ras, C-erb B2, Proliferating Cell Nuclear Antigen 및 C-myc의 변동 Expression of C-ras, C-erb B2, PCNA, and C-myc

        To investigate the role of oncogenes in the hepatocarcinogenesis, author had undertaken an experimental study of hepatic carcinogenesis induced in 50 rats by feeding 2-acetylaminofluorene(2-AAF) in diet. The animals were sacrificed at 2, 4, 6, 8, 12, 16, 27, and 36 weeks after 2-AAF administration, and each liver was immunostained with monoclonal antibodies for c-ras, c-erb B2, and proliferating cell nuclear antigen(PCNA), and analysed by flow cytometry for c-myc oncoprotein. 1.The control livers were negative for expression of c-ras, c-erb B2, and c-myc oncoprotein, and positive for PCNA in 0.2% of hepatic cells. 2.The oval cells were markedly proliferated at 4 weeks after 2-AAF administration. They eventually became differentialted into bile ductular cells and small hepatocytes. 3.The oval cells and small hepatocytes showed high positive rate for PCNA with strong reaction for c=ras, c-erb B2, and c-myc oncoprotein whereas bile ductular cells failed to react for c-ras and c-erb B2. 4.Most hepatocytes in regenerative nodules lost the expression for c-myc, c-ras, and c-erb B2, although the oncoproteins persisted in some hepatocytes in the nodules. 5.Hepatocellular carcinoma of trabecular type and undifferentiated carcinoma were induced by 36 weeks after 2-AAF administration. The undifferentiated carcinoma cells expressed both PCNA and c-erb B2 oncoprotein rather strongly. Above results suggested that in the early phase of the experiment, c-ras, c-erb B2, and c-myc oncogenes were activated and stimulated to proliferation makes the oval cells to e transformed into malignant cells. However, the findings that most oval cells were differented into reversible cells in regenerating nodules suggested that overexpression of these oncogenes might not be sufficient to obtain irreversible phenotype of malignant cells. Also strong expression of oncoproteins and high PCNA positive rate in small hepatocytes and in a few cells of the hyperplastic nodules suggested that the pathway of the cancer might go through the development of oval cells to small hepatocytes to nodules and eventually to cancer. However, the results that most hepatocytes in the nodules lost oncoproteins and development of undifferentiated carcinoma in the absence of nodule formation suggested that the hepatocellular carcinoma arose from oval cells directly without a morphologic intermediate.

        최근 대학교육은 교육시장의 개방으로 경쟁이 더욱 치열해 지고 있다. 이러한 경쟁에서 살아 남기 위해서는 보다 새로운 교과과정의 개편이 필요하며, 전문대학 경영과 또한 예외는 아니다. 본 연구에서는 본교 경영과의 교과과정 개선방안으로서 코스별 전공제 운영, 실무중심의 교육, 교과목의 수정 및 확충, 졸업자격제시행 등에 대한 방안을 제시하였다. 코스별 전공제 운영 방안에 대해 특히 심도있게 살펴보았으며, 이러한 개선방안에 대한 세부운영방안을 수립하고 빠른 시일내에 시행하여야 한다. Nowadays, college's education trend to compete more than before according to open of education market. On this tendency, it needs not only new reform of curriculum in order to survival, but also BA department's curriculum of in this study, the important program of our BA department. Suggest operation of course specialization system, practice oriented education, modification and enlargement of curriculum, graduation-requirements system, and other alternatives. Specially we studied hard about operation of course specialization system, we hard to establish the detail operation alternatives on the improvement program within few day and we must implement it.

      • 유원시설업의 활성화에 관한 연구

        While social interest in leisure facilities is increasing, many problems have been brought out by confusion in applying related regulation about safety control and leisure facilities for tourists and management problems have been also raised in managing facilities by safety controller Therefore, this article presents new solutions for these problems through an analysis of their present situation. The most remarkable point about the leisure facilities which are currently under operation is that they are recognized as consuming and pleasure oriented business. Therefore they have been approached not in terms of improving recreational life for people but in terms of regulation. But considering their strong competitiveness as international tourist products and high potential as a good source of earning foreign currency, now they are being recognized as a high-tech leisure facilities. In this respect, here are some suggestions to improve and motivate leisure facilities business. First, whole procedure from designing and installation to maintenance and management should be unified by integrating management system for leisure facilities. Second, it should be a rule to employ a safety controller indicated in the safety control, standards for daily check-up and its reinforcement should be established and detailed regulation should be made. Third, study on methods to prevent re-occurrence of same accidents should be made constantly by making it an obligation to report all accidents and then by analyzing figures obtained through accident reports. Forth, the education of industrial-educational connection in short-term and in long-term should be prepared for safety controllers who actually manage leisure facilities. But the research on regulations related to leisure facility business and its related companies reveals that in spite of positive activities such as education for safety controllers and introduction of high-tech instruments conducted by Korea General Leisure Facility Association, the growth of leisure facility business into large corporation doesn't show much progress and the establishment of relationship with small and medium sized companies is another problem. Beside, there should be constant study on the problems shown in the current regulation system which requires steady interest in the new fields approached by many tourist industries and professionalism.

        Tuberculosis of duodenum is so rare and is usually secondary to pulmonary or intestinal tuberculosis . It is difficult to diagnose duodenal tuberculosis in clinical and radiologic findings due to its non-specific symptoms and inconsistent lesion. The diagnosis was made on the basis of the histological study of the endoscopic biopsy and resected surgical specimen. so we report a case of tuberculosis of duodenal bulb and of ascending colon with, the brief review of the literatures.

      • 軟弱地盤 壓密特性과 沈下豫測

        Recently, developed countries have brought about a considerable increase in the study of soft ground for the reasons of policy on farming protection, key industry and sightseeing development since the middle of the nineteenth century, particularly 1950s. In spite of the long and copious experience associated with these types of construction, the constructions of soft ground still have many delicate problems. In general, problems of soft ground related to stability are probably to meet settlements on the various circumstances. In order to accelerate the rate of consolidation settlement and gain a required shear strength for a given soft ground, the preloading technique combined with a vertical drainage system has been widely applied. In this paper, laboratory tests have analyzed to change the soil parameters that executed the plan of stage construction. The void ratio and water content of the clay decreases and the strength of soft ground rises during consolidation period. In order to predict of magnitude, rate of settlement and pore pressure dissipation under embankment of loading on drainage-installed soft ground, consolidation settlement prediction methods such as Asaoka method, curve fitting method, TAN method and Hyperbolic method applied to gain final consolidation settlement from the field settlement data. The Reliability analysis of consolidation settlement prediction methods made use of additional settlement data. Sequentially, it has been found that Hyperbolic method can appropriately predict the consolidation behavior of drainage-installed soft ground of Yangsan Mulgum.

      • 非品質 As₂S₃光添加 銀膜層의 電氣抵抗 變化의 測定

        This study introduces a new method-measurement of the electrical resistance of Ag layer-a function of the guantity of the Ag photodissolved to study the kinetics of the Photodissolution of Ag in amorphous As₂S₃. We have concluded from our kinetics data that the electrical resistance i.e. Photodissolution of Ag in As₂S₃is composed of two independent processes. First, as the dominant process in what we have referred to as stage 1, there is an accumulation of radiation damage in the As₂S₃. This can even be accomplished by pre-illumination of the As₂S₃prior to deposition of the Ag layer. It is natural to associate this process with the many observations of photo-darkening/Photo-bleaching in As₂S₃. These effects appear to be combinations of atomic rearrangements and charge trapping. Whatever this radiation damage may be, the fact that the photodissolution exhibits an induction period shows that there is a certain minimum damage required before the Ag can dissolve into the As₂S₃. The second process, which dominates what we have referred to as stage 2, procedures a constant photodissolution rate. We can sum up our conclusion concerning the photodissolution mechanisms as, first there must be critical accumulation of radiation damage. Then, light can assist the Ag atom to cross the interfacial activation barrier by either of two processes s:photo-assisted jump or activation barrier lowering. As far as our experiments could resolve, the illuminations have the same wavelengths in photodoping.
