      • Ciprofloxacin의 동물유래 병원세균에 대한 시험관내 항균효과시험

        In this study the antimicrobial spectrum and sensitivity of ciprofloxacin(CFX) against the major pathogenic bacteria isolated from the diseased poultry, pig, cattle in Korea were evaluated in comparison with morfloxacin(NFX), enrofloxacin(EFX), nalidixic acid(NA), gentamicin(GM), tetracycline(TC), erythromycin(EM), streptomycin(SM) and penicillin(PC). Increasing by paper disk diffusion test for total of 439 isolates from poultry, pig and cattle, CFX showed remarkably higher sensitivity(>83%) as compared with other drugs. When three quinolones such as CFX, NFX and NA were compared for the inhibition activity against 4 major pathogens, CFX induced significantly larger diameter of inhibition zone through all of the tested concentration than NFX and NA. As MICs of all drugs for 11 bacterial species isolated from poultry were measured, the MIC range of CFX was 0.125 - 40 ㎍/㎖ in Gram positives, ≤ 0.005 - 2.5 ㎍/㎖ in Gram negatives and 0.08 - 1.25 ㎍/㎖ with 12 isolates of Mycoplasma. MIC_50 and MIC_90 of CFX in these cases revealed consistently lower as compared with those of NFX, GM and PC. When the MICs of the drugs were tested with 11 bacterial species from the diseased pigs, MIC range of CFX was 0.05 - 3.5 ㎍/㎖ in Gram positives, ≤ 0.005 - 0.8 ㎍/㎖ with Gram negatives and 0.5 - 9.0 ㎍/㎖ with 11 isolates of Mycoplasma. MIC_50 and MIC_90 of CFX and NFX were remarkably lower than those of GM and PC. As MICs of CFX, NFX, GM and PC for 10 bacterial species isolated from cattle were tested, the MIC range of CFX was found 0.01 - 4.0 ㎍/㎖ in Gram positives, and ≤ 0.005 - 0.2 ㎍/㎖ in Gram negative bacteria. The MIC_50 and MIC_90 of CFX in cases of cattle appeared remarkably lower than those of the other drugs. CFX, as compared with the other drugs, showed invariably lower MIC_50 and MIC_90 in both of GRam positives and negatives. As MICs of CFX, NFX and PC for 12 reference bacteria were examined, MIC of CFX was 0.03 - 0.25 ㎍/㎖ that was much lower drug concentration than those of NFX(0.25 - 1.0 ㎍/㎖) and PC(0.5 - 16.0㎍/㎖).

        본 논문에서는 천연 고령토로 고실리카 제오라이트인 ZSM-5를 합성하는 방법을 제안한다. 합성시, 알칼리 종으로 KOH를 첨가하였다. 또한, ZSM-5의 합성을 위해 회전반응을 수행하는 원통형 합성장치를 제작하였다. 이 장치는 회전속도 및 반응온도를 제어할 수 있도록 설계되었다. ZSM-5의 합성영역을 밝히기 위하여 SiO_2/Al_2O_3의 몰비와 K_2O/SiO_2를 조절하였다. 그 결과, 몰비에 대응하는 결정생성물의 영역 및 ZSM-5의 합성영역을 밝혔다. In this paper, a synthesis method of high silica zeolite (ZSM-5) using Koryung clay from Kyungnam Province is proposed. We select KOH as alkali seed. We fabricate the synthesis apparatus which attends rotative reaction. The synthesis apparatus controls rotation speed and reaction temperature. To reveal the synthesis range of ZSM-5, we adopt various mole ratio of SiO_2/Al_2O_3 and K_2O/SiO_2. As the results, synthesis range of ZSM-5 which corresponds to mole ratio is appeared.

      • 그람양성구균에 대한 Teicoplanin과 Vancomycin의 시험관내 항균력

        An increasing frequency of methicillin resistant S. aureus(MRSA), methicillin resistant coagulase negative staphylococci(MRCNS) and Enterococcal infection have been observed in recent years. Teicoplanin is a new glycopeptide antibiotic obstained from the Actinoplanes teicomycetius. The molecular structure and spectrum of antimicrobial activity of teicoplanin is simillar to those of vancomycin, and has been reported to have an excellent in vitro and in vivo effect against various gram-positive infections. Therefore, we evaluated the in vitor susceptibility of gram positive cocci, such as, S. aureus, coagulase negative Staphylococci(CNS), and Enterococci to teicoplanin and vancomycin. The total 253 strains consisted of MSSA(40), MRSA(53), MSCNS(47), MRCNS(48), and Enterococci(65). They were assayed by disc diffusion and agar dilution. During the study, 57% of S. aureus and 49% of CNS showed resistance to methicillin. The inhibitory diameter of teicoplanin was 15-20mm in MSSA, 12-19mm in MRSA, 13-24mm in MSCNS, 11-23mm in MRCNS, and 15-22mm in Enterococci respectively, and showed sensitivity in all but 8 strains(3.2%). The range of the minimum inhibitory concentration (MIC) of teicoplanin to MSSA, MRSA, MSCNS, MRCNS and Enterococci were 9.12-2.0㎍/ml, 0.25-2.0㎍/ml, & 0.25-32㎍/ml, 0.12-1.0㎍/ml respectively. One case of S. haemolyticus was resistant to teicoplanin (32㎍/ml) by the agar dilution method. Eight minor (3.2%) and one major(0.4%) error was observed when the MIC and disk diffusion data were correlated with teicoplanin. As for vancomycin the inhibitory diameter was 17-21mm in MSSA, 15-21mm in MRSA, 18-26mm in MSCNS, 18-25mm in MRCNS, and 16-22mm in Enterococci respectively. The range of the MIC of vancomycin to MSSA, MRSA, MSCNS, MRCNS, and Enterococci were 0.25-1.0㎍/ml, 0.25-4.0㎍/ml, 0.5-2.0㎍/ml and 0.5-2.0㎍/ml respectively. One minor error (0.4%) was seen with the vancomycin disk. The MIC90 of MSSA and MRSA exhibited the same results in teicoplanin (1.0㎍/ml, 1.0㎍/ml), and vancomycin(2.0㎍/ml, 2.0㎍/ml). MSCNS and MRCNS exhibited greater MIC90 with teicoplanin(4.0㎍/ml, 8.0㎍/ml) than vancomycin(2.0㎍/ml, 2.0㎍/ml). Incontrase Enterococci were more susceptible to teicoplanin(0.5㎍/ml) than to vancomucin (2.0㎍/ml). Results from this analysis indicated that both teicoplanin and vancomycin were very excellent for gram positive infections, especially those resistant to methicillin.

        It is important to study the activity of drug biotransformation enzymes, because from a pharmacological and therapeutic point of view these enzymes are resposible for eliminating most drugs. Their level is ciritical when deciding the dose regimen. (From a toxicological perspective, the role of these enzymes varies, with some of them being directly responsible for activation of certain chemicals to reactive intermediates with deleterious consequence to the animal.) Experiments were designed to measure in vitro, the activity of drug metabolizing enzymes in liver of Korean native cattle. The microsomal monooxygenase activities were evaluated utilizing specific substrates. The activities of BPDM and TST 6β-hydroxylase were seemed to be high level relatively to other monooxygenzses such as ECOD, EROD and AH. Interestingly, TST 16α-hydroxylase which is a maker enzyme for CYP ⅠLA was not detected in Korean native cattle. These results sugest that Korean native cattle have high contents of CYP IIB1 and CYP IIIA.

        North Korean Defectors as Cultural Other in South Korea: Perception and Construction of Cultural Differences

        With around 34,000 North Korean defectors having arrived in South Korea (asof June, 2021), perceptions toward them remain ambiguous and unbalanced. Thedominant discourse about North Korean defectors centers on adaptation, andcultural difference is often identified as one of the most challenging obstacles. This article examines how a specific conceptualization of culture is utilized toalienate North Korean defectors, while securing the belief in a single ethnicity ofall Koreans. As a result, North Korean defectors are rendered as cultural other inSouth Korean society. While cultural difference is often believed to be the basis ofdiscrimination for North Korean defectors, this article argues that social prejudiceand discrimination reproduce and reinforce the discourse about cultural differenceof North Korean defectors.

        Representation and Self-Presentation of North Korean Defectors in South Korea: Image, Discourse, and Voices

        This article looks into how media representations of North Korean defectors reproduce the images of North Korean defectors, while paying particular attention to the contrasting voices of North Korean defectors which reflect self-presentation. The media-perpetuated image of North Korean defectors as displaced victims whose memories are mostly clustered around the oppressive regime fails to grasp the intersection of aspiration, determination, and agency of North Korean defectors. The self-presentation of North Korean defectors reveals that they are eager to be in charge of constructing and controlling their own images, which goes beyond hitherto nationalized, gendered, and ethnicized identities. Self-presentation, at the same time, is a product of strategic choices conditioned by social discourse and media representation.

        Field Cancerization in Sporadic Colon Cancer

        Background/Aims: Aberrant DNA methylation has a specific role in field cancerization. Certain molecular markers, including secreted frizzled-related protein 2 (SFRP2), tissue factor pathway inhibitor 2 (TFPI2), N-Myc downstream-regulated gene 4 (NDRG4) and bone morphogenic protein 3 (BMP3), have previously been shown to be hypermethylated in colorectal cancer (CRC). We aim to examine field cancerization in CRC based on the presence of aberrant DNA methylation in normal-appearing tissue from CRC patients. Methods: We investigated promoter methylation in 34 CRC patients and five individuals with normal colonoscopy results. CRC patients were divided into three tissue groups: tumor tissue, adjacent and nonadjacent normal-appearing tissue. The methylation status (positive: methylation level >20%) of SFRP2, TFPI2, NDRG4, and BMP3 promoters was investigated using methylation-specific PCR. Results: The methylation frequencies of the SFRP2, TFPI2, NDRG4 and BMP3 promoters in tumor/adjacent/nonadjacent normal-appearing tissue were 79.4%/63.0%/70.4%, 82.4%/53.6%/60.7%, 76.5%/61.5%/69.2%, 41.2%/35.7%/50.0%, respectively. The methylation levels of the SFRP, TFPI2, NDRG4 and BMP3 promoters in tumor tissues were significantly higher than those in normal-appearing tissue (SFRP2, p=0.013; TFPI2, p<0.001; NDRG4, p=0.003; BMP3, p=0.001). No significant correlation was observed between the methylation levels of the promoters and the clinicopathological variables. Conclusions: The field effect is present in CRC and affects both the adjacent and nonadjacent normal-appearing mucosa. (Gut Liver 2016;10:773-780)
