A dynamic system under random disturbance is considered in the study. In order to control the system efficiently, proper reduction of system dimension is indispensible in design stage. The reduction method using component cost analysis in conjunction with stochastic analysis is proposed for the control of a system. System response is obtained in terms of dynamic moment equation via Fokker-Plank-Kolmogorov(F-P-K) equation. The dynamic moment response of the system under random disturbance are reduced by using of deterministic version of component cost analysis. The reduced system via proposed stochastic component cost analysis is successfully implemented for dynamic response and shows remarkable control performance effectively utilizing stochastic controller in physical time domain.

This retrospective study include 923 facial bone fractures in 685 patients who were treated at the capital army force hospital from January 1983 to June 1992. An analysis datas were as follow. 1) There were 685 patients in the study group, averaging 1.3 fractures per patient for a total of 923 facial fractures. 2) Seasonally the highest incidence was in spring(28.9%) followed by fall(27.3%), summer(25.1%) and winter(18.7%). 3) The study population had 676(98.7%) males and 9(1.3%) females. 4) The most frequent fracture involved the zygoma(31.4%), followed by the mandible(24.1%), nasal bone(20.6%), orbit(12.7%) and maxilla(11.2%) 5) The most frequent vector was motor vehicle accidents(56.7%) followed by assault with a blunt object or fist(15.8%), gun shot wound(10.2%), falls(8.5%) and sports(8.3%). 6) At our institution, motor vehicle accident was found to be the primary cause of both midface fractures and mandibular fractures. 7) surgical intervention with open reduction and internal fixation was required in 65.1% of cases. 8) The complication rate was 14.9% and the most common complications were associated severe facial scar formations(3.9%).

Objectives : To study trends in complementary medical therapy for the allergic rhinitis. This study analyzed research on allergic rhinitis in PubMed. Methods : We searched PubMed related to complementary medical therapy for allergic rhinitis. We analyzed 25 research papers and examined published journals, years countries, and their methods, objectives, results, interventions, participants, periods and instruments of assessment. Results : The method of studies was mostly randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled trial. There were research papers concerning treatment and prevention with herbal medicine, acupuncture, diet, etc. There were more positive results compared to negative results for treatment and prevention. Most studies were carried out during the winter/spring period. The median for number of participants was 90.54 persons. Diagnostic criteria for enrolment were nasal symptoms, allergic skin test, serum, nasal discharge allergen specific IgE eosinophil, etc. Assessment for outcomes were nasal symptoms, serum, nasal discharge allergen specific IgE eosinophil and Quality of Life Questionnaire. Conclusions : It is necessary to study effects of acupuncture and herb medicines for allergic rhinitis and more in-depth research about trends in complementary medical therapy for allergic rhinitis.

Wound healing generally induces an inflammatory response associated with tissue fibrosis in which activated macrophage and myofibroblast cells are primarily involved. Although this is known to be the underlying mechanism for scarring and various fibrotic pathologies, no effective intervention is currently available. We identified (3-(2-(3-(morpholinomethyl)phenyl)thieno[3,2-b]pyridin-7-ylamino)phenol (LCB 03-0110), a thienopyridine derivative, as a potent inhibitor of discoidin domain receptor family tyrosine kinases and discovered that this compound strongly inhibits several tyrosine kinases, including the c-Src family, spleen tyrosine kinase, Bruton's tyrosine kinase, and vascular endothelial growth factor receptor 2, which are important for immune cell signaling and inflammatory reactions. LCB 03-0110 suppressed the proliferation and migration of primary dermal fibroblasts induced by transforming growth factor β1 and type I collagen, and this result correlated with the inhibition ability of the compound against enhanced expression of α-smooth muscle actin and activation of Akt1 and focal adhesion kinase. In J774A.1 macrophage cells activated by lipopolysaccharide LCB 03-0110 inhibited cell migration and nitric oxide, inducible nitric-oxide synthase, cyclooxygenase 2, and tumor necrosis factor-α synthesis. LCB 03-0110 applied topically to full excisional wounds on rabbit ears suppressed the accumulation of myofibroblast and macrophage cells in the healing wound and reduced hypertrophic scar formation after wound closing, without delaying the wound closing process. Taken together, the pharmacological activities of LCB 03-0110 suggest that it could be an effective agent for suppressing fibroinflammation by simultaneously targeting activated fibroblasts and macrophages.

Testicular hyperthermia is well studied to cause impaired spermatogenesis. In the present study, the protective effect of enzymatically modified (pectinase-treated) Panax ginseng (GINST) against intermittent sub-chronic heat stress-induced testicular damage in rats was investigated. Male Sprague-Dawley rats were divided into four groups: normal control (NC), heat-stressed control (HC), heat- stressed plus GINST-100mg/kg/day (HG100) and heat- stressed plus GINST-200mg/kg/day (HG200) treatment groups. GINST (100 and 200mg/kg/day) was mixed separately with a regular pellet diet and was administered orally for 8 weeks starting from 1 week before heat exposure. Parameters such as organ weight, blood chemistry, sperm kinetic values, expression of antioxidant enzymes, spermatogenesis molecules and sex hormone receptors levels were measured. Data revealed that kidney and epididymis weight were significantly (P < 0.05) decreased with heat stress and recovered by GINST treatment. Further, the altered levels of blood chemistry panels and sperm kinetic values in heat stress-induced rats were attenuated when GINST was administered (P < 0.05). Furthermore, the expression levels of antioxidant-related enzymes (GSTM5 and GPX4), spermatogenesis-related proteins (CREB1 and INHA) and sex hormone receptors (androgen receptor, luteinizing hormone receptor and follicle-stimulating hormone receptor) were reduced by heat stress; however, GINST treatment effectively ameliorated these changes. In conclusion, GINST was effective in reducing heat-induced damage in various male fertility factors in vivo and has considerable potential to be developed as a useful supplement in improving male fertility.
