        논문 : 성향에 대한 조건문적 분석에 대한 반박

        성향에 대한 조건문적 분석은 finks, masks, antidotes와 관련된 문제로 실패했다는 것이 일반적 견해이다. 이런 흐름에 반대하여 최성호 (2003, 2006, 2008, 2011, 2012)는 성향에 대한 조건적 분석에 대한 엄밀하고 체계적인 옹호를 제시해 왔다. 나는 이 논문에서 최성호의 옹호가 성공적이지 못하다는 점을 주장한다. 최성호 (2011, 2012)는 맥락 의존적 자극 조건과 맥락 독립적 자극 조건을 구분하고 그 구분을 조건문적 분석의 경쟁 버전들에 대립하여 효율적으로 이용하고 있다. 이 접근은 맥락적 전략과 확률적 설명(Manley and Wasserman 2008)과 같은 경쟁하는 조건문적 분석들에 비해 우월한 설명을 제공한다. 나는 finks 문제와 masks 문제를 해결하려는 최성호의 일상적 조건 설명은 그 구분을 이끌어내는 데 방해가 된다는 점을 주장할 것이다. 나는 문제가 발생하는 부분을 진단하고 최성호의 분석의 결함을 보일 것이다. 이 글의 순서는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 나는 성향 귀속에 대한 조건문적 분석의 단순한 형태를 기술하고 그것의 기본 문제들을 지적한다. 2절과 3절에서 나는 맥락 전략에 대한 최성호의 비판을 검토하고 맥락 의존과 맥락 독립 구분을 이끌어냄으로써 자신의 비판을 어떻게 향상시키는지를 보인다. 4절과 5절에서 나는 그의 일상적 조건 설명은 문제의 구분과 같이 고려될 경우 내적 문제들을 안고 있다는 점을 주장한다. 마지막으로 나는 성향에 대한 조건문적 분석의 전망을 논의한다. There is a wide consensus that the conditional analysis of dispositions is a failure, due to the problems of finks (Martin 1994) and masks (Johnston 1992) or antidotes (Bird 1998). Against this trend, Choi (2003, 2006, 2008, 2011, 2012) has in recent years offered a vigorous and systematic defense of the conditional analysis of dispositions acclaimed as adequate. In this paper, I will argue that his defense of the conditional analysis strategy remains unsuccessful. Choi (2011, 2012) has drawn recently a distinction between the context-dependent and context-independent stimulus conditions, and put it to effective use against some competing versions of conditional analyses. The result, as Choi claims, is the theoretical superiority over some competing conditional analyses, such as the Contextual Strategy and Manley and Wasserman`s (2008) probabilistic account. In this paper, I will argue that considerations in support of Choi`s own ordinary-conditions account (2008) aimed at solving the problems of finks and masks obstruct his attempt to draw the distinction in question. I diagnose where this problem originates, and show in what way Choi`s conditional analysis is deficient. I will proceed as follows. First, I will describe the simple form of a conditional analysis of a disposition ascription and its basic problems. In sections II and III, I will review Choi`s criticisms of the Contextual Strategy and show how he improves on it by drawing the context-dependent and context-independent distinction. In sections IV and V, I will argue that his ordinary-conditions account, when pieced together with the distinction in question, embodies some internal difficulties. Toward the end of the paper, I will discuss the prospects of the conditional analysis of dispositions.

        Fe3+-binding transferrin nanovesicles encapsulating sorafenib induce ferroptosis in hepatocellular carcinoma

        Background Ferroptosis, iron-dependent cell death, is an established mechanism for cancer suppression, particularly in hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC). Sorafenib (SOR), a frontline drug for the treatment of HCC, induces ferroptosis by inhibiting the Solute Carrier family 7 member 11 (SLC7A11), with inadequate ferroptosis notably contributing to SOR resistance in tumor cells. Methods To further verify the biological targets associated with ferroptosis in HCC, an analysis of the Cancer Genome Atlas (TCGA) database was performed to find a significant co-upregulation of SLC7A11 and transferrin receptor (TFRC), Herein, cell membrane-derived transferrin nanovesicles (TF NVs) coupled with Fe3+ and encapsulated SOR (SOR@TF-Fe3+ NVs) were established to synergistically promote ferroptosis, which promoted the iron transport metabolism by TFRC/TF-Fe3+ and enhanced SOR efficacy by inhibiting the SLC7A11. Results In vivo and in vitro experiments revealed that SOR@TF-Fe3+ NVs predominantly accumulate in the liver, and specifically targeted HCC cells overexpressing TFRC. Various tests demonstrated SOR@TF-Fe3+ NVs accelerated Fe3+ absorption and transformation in HCC cells. Importantly, SOR@TF-Fe3+ NVs were more effective in promoting the accumulation of lipid peroxides (LPO), inhibiting tumor proliferation, and prolonging survival rates in HCC mouse model than SOR and TF- Fe3+ NVs alone. Conclusions The present work provides a promising therapeutic strategy for the targeted treatment of HCC.

        Full Endoscopic Removal of Cervical Spinal Epidural Abscess: Case Report and Technical Note

        Spinal epidural abscess is a rare disease that is less likely to occur in the cervical region. When it occurs here, cervical spondylodiscitis can develop. Surgical treatment is recommended because of possible life-threatening septic and neurological complications. We present a case of an 81-year-old man who suffered from right side paralysis and was subsequently diagnosed with a C4 to C7 epidural abscess. We utilized full endoscopic surgery for patient management. The traditional surgical methods for treating cervical epidural abscesses may cause spinal instability. There has only been one previous case report on the endoscopic-assisted method. Minimal invasive surgery by a full endoscopic method can be done with a small incision and is associated with minimal blood loss and muscle damage. This is the first report on cervical epidural abscess drainage utilization a full endoscopic method. We recommend this alternative minimally invasive method to manage cervical epidural abscess.

        Adaptive ILC Design for Nonlinear Discrete-time Systems With Randomly Varying Trail Lengths and Uncertain Control Directions

        In this paper, an adaptive iterative learning control (ILC) design method is proposed for a class of nonlinear discrete-time systems with nonaffine structure, randomly varying trail length, and uncertain control direction. In order to achieve repetitive tracking control of the nonaffine structure systems with uncertain control direction, randomly varying trail length, and other uncertainties, we apply a high-order neural network to approximate the expected system input. Then, a novel adaptation law is designed for the neural network weight vector. The main feature of the method proposed in this paper is that the weight vector norm instead of the weight vector itself is updated iteratively to realize the successive approximation of the expected system input, the custom-designed identification mechanism is not necessary to deal with the uncertain control direction, and the analysis of randomly varying trail lengths problem is strictly established. The convergence of the proposed adaptive ILC is set up by a composite energy function. The effectiveness of the proposed adaptive ILC design is validated by two simulation examples.

        Real-world Evaluation of Tolerability, Safety and Efficacy of Rivastigmine Oral Solution in Patients with Mild to Moderate Alzheimer’s Disease Dementia

        Objective: The purpose of this study is to investigate the safety, tolerability and efficacy of titrating dose of rivastigmine oral solution in patients with mild to moderate Alzheimer’s disease (AD) in Taiwan. Methods: We recruited 108 mild to moderate AD patients with RivastⓇ (rivastigmine oral solution 2 mg/ml) treatment for 52 weeks. We recorded the demographic characteristics, initial cognition by mini-mental state examination (MMSE), initial global status by clinical dementia rating (CDR) with CDR-Sum of Boxes (CDR-SB), initial dose, and titrating dose at each visit. We investigated the adherence, proportion of possible side effects, optimal dose, and time to optimal dose. We demonstrated the proportion of cognitive decline and its possible risk factors. Results: During the course, 9 patients discontinued the rivastigmine oral solution due to poor compliance or preference. Twelve out of 99 patients (12.1%) reported possible side effects. Among 87 patients, the mean age was 77.2 ± 9.0 years ago with female predominant (65.2%). The optimal dose was 3.6 ± 1.4 ml in average and 4 ml (n = 31, 35.6%) in mode. The duration to optimal dose was 12.5 ± 10.2 weeks and 24 weeks (n = 35, 40.2%) in mode. It presented 25% with cognitive decline in MMSE, 27% with global function decline in CDR and 63% with global function decline in CDR-SB. Conclusion: We demonstrated the clinical experience of rivastigmine oral solution in mild to moderate AD patients. It suggested rivastigmine oral solution 4ml is the optimal dose with 24 weeks to the optimal dose for at least one third of patients.

        Real-time, Economical Identification of Microplastics Using Impedance-based Interdigital Array Microelectrodes and k-Nearest Neighbor Model

        Microplastic, being a direct carrier of many pollutants, has caused grave concern and become a public issue. This gives rise to the need of a quick method for quantifying and identifying microplastics in the environment. This study uses impedance spectroscopy, particularly the imaginary part of impedance, for detection and identification of sample microplastics. Two type of common microplastic contaminants, Polyethylene and Polystyrene, diameter 20 m and 150 m, were chosen for this study. The results confirm accurate identification of microplastic material in question, by using self-normalized ratio between two characteristic frequencies of 7MHz and 8.9 MHz, Zf = 7 MHz / Zf = 8.9 MHz. 3-kNN classifier built with the ratio Zf = 7 MHz / Zf = 8.9 MHz, and Zf = 8 MHz /Zf = 8.9 MHz, demonstrates accuracy upto 90% for the identification of single or both microplastic types in samples. These results confirm impedance spectroscopy, permitting rapid identification of microplastic without labeling and skillful techniques, as a potential rapid sensor.
