        Genomic, evolutionary and expression profile analysis of Hsp70 superfamily in A and D genome of cotton (Gossypium spp.) under the challenge of Verticillium dahliae

        In this study, we comparatively analyzed the 115 Hsp70 genes identified in Gossypium raimondii, Gossypium hirsutum and Gossypium arboreum genomes. Those Hsp70 genes unequally distributed among chromosomes in A and D genome of cotton (Gossypium spp.), and were classified into 29 groups according to the homology of them. Based on the localization information of the orthologs in Arabidopsis, the Hsp70 proteins were predicted to locate in cytosol, endoplasmic reticulum, mitochondrion or chloroplast. Homologous analysis indicated the evolutionary conservation of Hsp70 in cotton. In addition, those Hsp70 genes were differently expressed in Suyuan-045, Hai-7124 and TM-1, which were highly resistant, resistant, and sensitive to Verticillium dahliae respectively. The expressions of 26 Hsp70 genes were induced by Verticillium dahliae except for Hsp70-07/16/25/26, and the result suggested the potential involvement of them in responding to Verticillium wilt. Hsp70-08/30/31 was highly expressed in both Suyuan-045 and Hai-7124, and it was hypothesized that they might be involved in the resistance to the invasion of Verticillium dahliae. 144h after inoculation with Verticillium dahliae, the expression of Hsp70-13/14/15 was only up-regulated in Suyuan-045, and it was assumed that they might be involved in resistance to the extension of Verticillium dahliae. Further study on those Hsp70 genes would be valuable to reveal the role of them in Verticillium wilt resistance.

        A New Theoretical Equation to Estimate Poisson’s Ratio for Coated Bi-axial Warp Knitted Fabrics under Bias Tensile Loading

        Tensile tests of seven bias angles with a 15 o increment with respect to the warp direction are conducted on a typical coated bi-axial warp knitted fabric (BWKF). By utilizing the Digital Image Correlation technique, the experimental results are processed, and detailed responses of strain contours and Poisson’s ratios are determined for some specific strain levels, and an extraordinary M-shaped relationship between Poisson’s ratio and bias angle is revealed. Then, the tested Poisson’s ratios are compared with corresponding theoretical predictions from the original theory for ordinary anisotropic materials, discrepancies and their possible causes are analyzed. Finally, the original theory used for Poisson’s ratio predication of ordinary anisotropic materials is modified for application to the BWKFs by considering the unique local valley at 45 o caused by structural differences and possible yarn movements. The modified theoretical equation could exhibit the Mshaped relationship between Poisson’s ratio and bias angle, and is validated due to the high similarity between the predictions and experimental results. This investigation could provide some new insights into the orientation-dependence, Poisson’s effect and complex deformation mechanism of BWKFs.

      • Fluctuation Power Control Strategy for MMC-based SST to Reduce the Submodule Capacitor Voltage Oscillation

        In the future AC-DC hybrid distribution system, solid state transformer (SST) will take place of conventional transformer, as it could reduce the weight and volume of transformer, and achieve voltage and current regulation, power flow control, power quality enhancement. MMC-based SST is a novel SST topology, which could provide the MVDC port. However, the excessive bulky submodule capacitors limits this topology into practical application. This paper proposes a fluctuation power control strategy for MMC-based SST to reduce the submodule capacitor voltage oscillation, which could optimize the capacitance and reduce the volume and cost of capacitor. The feasibility of this proposed method is verified by MATLAB simulation.

        Olaparib induced senescence under P16 or P53 dependent manner in ovarian cancer

        Objective: Poly (ADP-ribose) polymerase (PARP) is an important molecule in the early stress response of DNA damage, which is involved in DNA damage repair and cellular senescence. Olaparib, as PARP inhibitor, has an anti-tumor effect on high grade serous ovarian cancer, but its effects on cellular senescence have not been reported. This study intends to explore the role of olaparib in the regulation of senescence in ovarian cancer cells. Methods: The effects of olaparib on the senescence of ovarian cancer cells were detected by using the senescence-associated β-galactosidase (SA-β-Gal) and senescence-associated heterochromatin aggregation (SAHF). Quantitative real-time polymerase chain reaction was used to analyze the senescence-associated secretory phenotype (SASP). Cell cycle and apoptosis were detected by flow cytometry. The effect of olaparib on tumor growth was analyzed in a nude mouse xenograft transplantation model. Results: Long-term (6 days) treatment with olaparib (5 μM) significantly inhibited the growth of ovarian cancer cells, leading to arrest the cell cycle at G0/G1 phase, significant increase the number of positive SA-β-Gal stained cells and positive SAHF cells. The expression of P16 and retinoblastoma protein (p-RB) were significantly enhanced in SKOV3 cells under olaparib treated, meanwhile, the expression of P53 and p-RB were upregulated in A2780 cells. In OVCAR-3 cells, the expression of P53 was downregulated and p-RB was upregulated. Mice with SKOV3 xenograft transplantation was given olaparib (10 mg/kg/day) via abdominal cavity administration, the tumor volume was reduced (p<0.01). Conclusion: Continuous low dosage administration of olaparib induced senescence under P16 or P53 dependent manner in ovarian cancer.

        Effect of Clogging on Large Strain Consolidation with Prefabricated Vertical Drains by Vacuum Pressure

        Clogging will inevitably occur while using vacuum preloading method to process super-soft soils with high water content. How to quantitatively evaluate the effect of clogging on the consolidation behavior is a key issue to be solved. Based on NALSC (negative axisymmetric large-strain consolidation) model, considering the “internal clogging” and the “external clogging”, a calculation method by using parameter “clogging rate” to reflect clogging problem is proposed for single-well consolidation theory. Effects of clogging rate and clogging occurred time on Us (degree of consolidation defined by strain) and Up (degree of consolidation defined by stress) are investigated. Differences of the effect of clogging on consolidation degree are determined between large-strain and small-strain consolidation theory. The results show that, the larger the clogging rate, the smaller the degree of consolidation of the soil at the same consolidation time. Effect of clogging on Up is greater than Us. The earlier the clogging occurs, the smaller the degree of consolidation at the same clogging rate. Influences on the degree of consolidation for large-strain and small-strain theory are the same. Consolidation rate of soil is determined to a certain extent by the “generalized clogging parameter μ”. The “external clogging” has a greater influence on the degree of consolidation than the “internal clogging” at the same clogging rate.

        Effect of Vertical Flow on Consolidation Degree of Foundation with Vertical Drains in Large-Strain Consolidation Theory

        Vertical flow has an important effect on consolidation rate of ultra-soft soil, but the influence law and influence level on the degree of large-strain consolidation have not been quantitatively evaluated. Based on the negative axisymmetric large strain consolidation (NALSC) model, the variation laws of calculation error of consolidation degree ignoring vertical flow with consolidation time and strain are studied under different values of H/re (ratio of soil thickness to influence radius), w0/wL (ratio of initial water content to liquid limit) and kh/kv (ratio of horizontal permeability coefficient to vertical permeability coefficient). Taking 10% as the error threshold, the H/re values ignoring vertical flow are given, and the difference between them in the theories of large-strain and small-strain is discussed. The results show that the effect of vertical flow on degree of stress consolidation (Up) is greater than degree of strain consolidation (Us). The H/re values neglecting the effect of vertical flow on the degree of consolidation in large-strain theory are less than those in small-strain theory. The calculation errors affected by vertical flow decrease with the increase of H/re and kh/kv. Error of Us affected by vertical flowdecreases, whereas error of Up increases with the increase of w0/wL. The effect of vertical flow on the degree of consolidation is greater when well resistance is considered.

      • Modeling and Evaluation of Inertia Emulation Control for DFIG Wind Turbine

        With the increasing penetration of renewable energy generators in power grid, many inertia emulation control strategies have been raised to solve the problem of reduced power system inertia. A co-simulation research platform is built based on RTDS and GH Bladed, detailed comparisons are made in terms of inertia response performance, weak grid operation stability, secondary frequency drop and wind tower load analysis. Research results point out that different control schemes are similar in inertia response while virtual synchronous generator control (VSG) and inertial synchronization control (ISynC) can improve weak grid operation stability, VSG strategy is also effective in reducing frequency secondary drop and wind tower fatigue load, the combination of VSG and ISynC can get the best control results.

        An Optimal Model based on Multifactors for Container Throughput Forecasting

        Containerization plays an important role in international trade. Container throughput is a key indicator to measure the development level of a port. In this paper, Lianyungang Port and Shanghai Port are chosen to study the method for container throughput forecasting. Gray model, triple exponential smoothing model, multiple linear regression model, and backpropagation neural network model are established. Five factors are selected as influential factors. They are total retail sales of consumer goods, gross domestic product of the local city, import and export trade volume, total output value of the second industry and total fixed assets investment. The growth and the raw datasets are used in the prediction, respectively. The datasets from 1990 to 2011 are chosen to build models and the ones from 2012 to 2017 are used to assess the performance of the models. By comparison, the backpropagation neural network model is applicable to both Shanghai Port and Lianyungang Port for container throughput forecasting. The volume of container throughput at both ports from 2018 to 2020 is predicted.

        Amorphous FePO4/reduced graphene oxide composite prepared from jarosite residue and its application as a novel anode material for lithium-ion batteries

        Rational utilization of jarosite residue is significantly important from the view of environmental protectionand resource recycling. Herein, we report a facile preparation of porous amorphous FePO4/reducedgraphene oxide (rGO) composite by utilizing the iron resource in jarosite residue with a selective chemicalprecipitation method, and demonstrate its great potential as a high-performance anode material oflithium-ion batteries (LIBs). The FePO4/rGO composite exhibits superior cyclic performance(812.7 mA h g1 over 300 cycles at 500 mA g1) and high-rate capability (335.2 mA h g1 even at a highcurrent density of 10 A g1) in a half cell. More importantly, the full LIB assembled with FePO4/rGO anodeand commercial Li(Ni0.5Co0.2Mn0.3)O2 (NCM523) cathode still delivers a high and stable capacity of 674. 9/528.7 mA h g1 upon 100/300 cycles at 200/500 mA g1, indicating the great potential of this FePO4/rGO composite as a new anode material with high lithium storage performance. This work proposes asimple, feasible, and cost-effective strategy for the high-valued utilization of jarosite residue and providesa reference for the design and development of FePO4-based anode materials for LIBs.

        A Large-Strain Vacuum-Assisted Radial Consolidation Model for Dredged Sludge considering Lateral Deformation

        A calculation model has been developed for large-strain radial consolidation incorporating lateral deformation in order to solve the problem of poor consolidation prediction for dredged sludge at high water content in vacuum preloading process. The differential solution for the proposed model is given, considering the effect of initial water content on the compression behavior. The model is suitable for unconsolidated soil and normally consolidated soil, which can take into account such factors as lateral deformation, varying compressibility and permeability coefficients, smearing effect, self-weight stress, negative pressure attenuation along the depth, etc. The proposed model is verified by comparing it with other existing theoretical solutions. Poisson's ratio (v) is used to reflect the influence of lateral deformation on soil consolidation. The results show that lateral deformation has an important influence on soil consolidation degree, especially on consolidation degree defined by stress (Up). The consolidation rate increases with the increase of v. The traditional equal-strain solution overestimates the consolidation rate of foundation. At the same normalized elevation, the void ratio increases while the excess pore water pressure decreases with the increase of v.
