        Optimal magnetoelectric coupling performance of Terfenol-D/PZT composites in resonance state under bias magnetic field

        Laminated magnetoelectric (ME) composites with various thickness ratios were optimized, fabricated and experimentally investigated in this work. The Terfenal-D/PZT specimens with optimal thickness ratio between the magnetostrictive phase and piezoelectric phase, and two other values were tested for their ME coupling performance. The coupling voltage output increases linearly with the increase of DC bias magnetic field. The ME voltage coefficient increases more than 100 times in the resonance state for the optimal laminate. The DC bias magnetic field affects the ME voltage coefficient significantly, and also has little effect on the resonant frequency. The strength of AC magnetic field also slightly affects the ME voltage coefficient in resonance state, but does not affect the resonant state under which the same DC magnetic field is required. The experimental results can help understand the coupling performance of ME composite under bias magnetic field and prompt the application of ME devices.

        MRAS Genetic Variation is Associated with Atherothrombotic Stroke in the Han Chinese Population

        Background and Purpose Atherothrombotic cerebral infarction [atherothrombotic stroke (ATS)] shares common risk factors and pathophysiological mechanisms with coronary artery disease (CAD), and both diseases appear to have common susceptibility loci. The muscle RAS oncogene homolog gene (MRAS) has been identified as a susceptibility locus for CAD and is implicated in atherosclerosis. The aim of this study was to elucidate whether the single-nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) and haplotypes of MRAS are associated with increased risk of ATS in a population of Han Chinese. Methods A case-controlled association study was conducted in which only patients with ATS (identified as a major subtype in the Korean modification of the Trial of Org 10172 in Acute Stroke Treatment classification) were enrolled. Subgroup analyses were carried out to determine whether the effect of the MRAS polymorphism was specific to age and gender among the subjects. Results In total, 194 ATS and 186 control subjects were included in the present study. Two tagging SNPs were identified in MRAS (rs40593 and rs3755751). A multivariate regression analysis revealed a positive association between rs40593 and ATS under dominant and additive models after adjustment for covariates. Subgroup analyses revealed that there were no gender differences with respect to allele or genotype frequencies between the groups. The AG genotype for rs40593(p=0.028), the CT genotype for rs3755751 (p=0.036), and G-allele carriers (AG plus GG) for rs40593 (p=0.015) exhibited a significant protective effect among those aged ≥45 years. For the haplotype analysis, ATS subjects aged ≥45 years had a higher frequency of the ACAC haplotype (76.0%) than the controls (68.1%; p<0.05); that haplotype was associated with an increased risk of ATS. Conclusions The obtained data suggest a positive association between MRAS and ATS among the Han Chinese. Further studies should be performed with larger sample and among different ethnic populations, and gene-gene or gene-environment interactions should be considered.

      • Aberrant Expression of the Autocrine Motility Factor Receptor Correlates with Poor Prognosis and Promotes Metastasis in Gastric Carcinoma

        AMFR, autocrine motility factor receptor, also called gp78, is a cell surface cytokine receptor which has a dual role as an E3 ubiquitin ligase in endoplasmic reticulum-associated degradation. AMFR expression is associated with tumor malignancy. We here investigated the clinical significance of AMFR and its role in metastasis and prognosis in gastric cancer. Expression of AMFR, E-cadherin and N-cadherin in cancer tissues and matched adjacent normal tissues from 122 gastric cancer (GC) patients undergoing surgical resection was assessed by immunohistochemistry. Levels of these molecules in 17 cases selected randomly were also analysed by Western blotting. AMFR expression was significantly increased in gastric cancer tissues, and associated with invasion depth and lymph node metastasis. Kaplan-Meier analysis showed AMFR expression correlated with poor overall survival and an increased risk of recurrence in the GC cases. Cox regression analysis suggested AMFR to be an independent predictor for overall and recurrence-free survival. E-cadherin expression was decreased in gastric cancer tissues; conversely, N-cadherin was increased. Expression of AMFR negatively correlated with E-cadherin expression, whereas N-cadherin expression showed a significant positive correlation with AMFR expression. AMFR might be involved in the regulation of epithelial-mesenchymal transition, with aberrant expression correlating with a poor prognosis and promoting invasion and metastasis in GCs.

        비즈니스 중국어 학습수요에 관한 연구

        한·중 수교 이래 경제교류가 날로 늘어남에 따라 비즈니스 중국어 학습에 대한 수요가 대두되기 시작하였으나 이에 대한 연구나 분석이 아직 많지 않은 실정이다. 본고는 한국 내의 비즈니스 중국어 수업현황, 학습현황, 비즈니스 교재현황에 대해 검토하였고, 학습자 수요를 파악하기 위해 수요분석 이론과 기존 연구를 바탕으로 학습수요를 물질적 수요, 심리적 수요, 비즈니스 중국어에 대한 수요, 교육과정과 평가에 대한 수요 등 네 가지로 재분류 하였다. 이러한 분류에 따라 중국어 학습자 총 302명을 대상으로 3년의 시간간격을 두고 온라인 설문조사를 실시하였고 그 결과 직업별, 중국어 수준 별 학습자 수요는 상이하게 나타났다. 위와 같은 분석결과를 토대로 효과적인 비즈니스 중국어 교육을 위해 교재편찬, 수업설계, 평가에 대해 간략하게 제언을 하였다. Since the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and South Korea, South Korean enterprises that trade with Chinese have grown rapidly. In order to better cooperate with Chinese people, Business Chinese Learning Demands are also growing. Business Chinese has become one of the essential skills of South Korean business people. Therefore, Business Chinese teaching has gradually become the focus of Chinese teaching in South Korea. The premise of teaching students well is to understand their learning needs. In this paper, 302 South Koreans with different Chinese proficiency, occupations and ages were surveyed. The surveys were conducted twice, in 2016 and 2019.The learning needs were divided into four aspects: material needs, psychological needs, language ability needs and curriculum needs. The purpose of the survey is to better understand the students’ learning needs and changes in demand. Based on the results, we can effectively guide students’ learning, optimize the classroom teaching and make the testing standards more reasonable.

        Role of Stromal Cell-Derived Factor-1 in Endothelial Progenitor Cell-Mediated Vascular Repair and Regeneration

        Endothelial progenitor cells (EPCs) are immature endothelial cells that participate in vascular repair and postnatal neovascularization and provide a novel and promising therapy for the treatment of vascular disease. Studies in different animal models have shown that EPC mobilization through pharmacological agents and autologous EPC transplantation contribute to restoring blood supply and tissue regeneration after ischemic injury. However, these effects of the progenitor cells in clinical studies exhibit mixed results. The therapeutic efficacy of EPCs is closely associated with the number of the progenitor cells recruited into ischemic regions and their functional abilities and survival in injury tissues. In this review, we discussed the regulating role of stromal cell-derived factor-1 (also known CXCL12, SDF-1) in EPC mobilization, recruitment, homing, vascular repair and neovascularization, and analyzed the underlying machemisms of these functions. Application of SDF-1 to improve the regenerative function of EPCs following vascular injury was also discussed. SDF-1 plays a crucial role in mobilizing EPC from bone marrow into peripheral circulation, recruiting the progenitor cells to target tissue and protecting against cell death under pathological conditions; thus improve EPC regenerative capacity. SDF-1 are crucial for regulating EPC regenerative function, and provide a potential target for improve therapeutic efficacy of the progenitor cells in treatment of vascular disease.

        Molecular Cloning and Characterization of clyA Genes in Various Serotypes of Salmonella enterica

        Cytolysin A (ClyA) is a pore-forming hemolytic protein encoded by the clyA gene. It has been identified in Salmonella enterica serovars Typhi and Paratyphi A. To identify and characterize the clyA genes in various Salmonella enterica strains, 21 different serotypes of strains isolated from clinical specimens were presently examined. Full-length clyA genes were found in S. enterica serovar Brandenburg, Indiana, Panama, and Schwarzengrund strains by polymerase chain reaction amplification. The ClyA proteins from these four strains showed >97% amino acid identity to that of S. enterica serovar Typhi. Although all four serovars expressed detectable levels of ClyA as determined by Western blot analysis, they did not show a strong hemolytic effect on blood agar, indicating that ClyA may not be efficiently expressed or secreted. Escherichia coli transformed with clyA genes from the four serovars enhanced production of ClyA proteins and hemolytic activities to a level similar to S. enterica serovar Typhi ClyA. The present results suggest that ClyA may play a role in the pathogenesis of S. enterica serovar Brandenburg, Indiana, Panama and Schwarzengrund.

        A Revisit to the Design of Switched Observers for Switched Linear Systems with Unknown Inputs

        This paper revisits the problem of designing switched observers for switched linear systems with unknown inputs. By performing a state and output coordinates transformation that decouples the unknown input, a novel piecewise time-varying Lyapunov function is introduced to analyze the stabil-ity of the switched error dynamics. Compared with the existing time-invariant Lyapunov function method, the proposed time-varying Lyapunov function method is more suitable to exploit the structural characteristics of switched linear systems. New conditions are derived that guarantee the exponential stability of the switched error dynamics. These conditions are formulated in term of linear matrix inequalities (LMIs). By solving a set of LMIs, the switched observers can be designed. Two numerical examples are provided to illustrate the effectiveness of the proposed method.

        Optimal Two-Section Layouts for the Two-Dimensional Cutting Problem

        When generating layout schemes, both the material usage and practicality of the cutting process should be considered. This paper presents a two-section algorithm for generating guillotine-cutting schemes of rectangular blanks. It simplifies the cutting process by allowing only one size of blanks to appear in any rectangular block. The algorithm uses an implicit enumeration and a linear programming optimal cutting scheme to maximize the material usage. The algorithm was tested on some benchmark problems in the literature, and compared with the three types of layout scheme algorithm. The experimental results show that the algorithm is effective both in computation time and in material usage.

        基于“产出导向法”的商务汉语案例教学实践

        本文尝试将产出导向法理论运用到商务汉语案例教学,用实际课堂的教学准备、教案编写、实施过程、教学反思等环节来探讨其适用性。在教学实践过程中,我们选取跨国企业本土化为教学内容,按照产出导向法的三个步骤“驱动-促成-评价”展开商务汉语案例教学,并针对课堂教学效果进行了调查,总结归纳了基于产出导向法理论的商务汉语教学的优点和不足,最后,就商务汉语教师的专业素养提高、学习者的学习能力提升、教学方式的优化、教学过程的完善提出了几点建议。 This paper aims to apply the theory of “Production-oriented Approach” to Business Chinese Case Teaching, and explores its applicability through classroom teaching.In the process of teaching practice, we chose the subject of localization of multinational enterprises as the teaching content, carried out business Chinese case teaching according to the teaching steps of the POA“drive-promote-evaluate”and conducted interviews and surveys on the effect of classroom teaching, summarized the advantages and disadvantages of business Chinese teaching based on the POA. Finally, We put forward some suggestions in terms of the improvement of teaching ability learning ability and the teaching process.
