大學 新入生의 道德的 事態判斷 水準 및 槪念化 樣相의 分析

This study was conducted in order to analyze freshmen's level of cognitive judgment of moral situations and their conceptions of moral situation in different conceptual domains. The research questions to be answered in this study were as follows : 1) What are freshmen's levels of the judgment in moral situations, and are the levels differentiated according to their sex and majors? 2) What are the justifications in each domain? In other words, how do justifications of nonpermissibility, generality, and rule-independency differ in such domains as moral, conventional, and personal? 3) How are freshmen's conceptions of moral situation characterized? Subjects in this study were 200 freshmen(131 boys and 79 girls) randomly sampled from Dong-a University. The instruments were Kim's(1985) Test of Moral Development Judgment which was translated from Rest's(1979) DIT, and 9 interview situations for moral judgment and justfication developed by the current researchers on the basis of Turiel's theory. Subjeects were presented with six moral dilemas and 9 moral situations by 10 research aides who are seniors of education department of dong-A University, specially trained for this study. Data were analyzed statistically to answer the research questions. The major findings of this study were as follows: 1) More freshmen attained level P in terms of judgment of moral situations, while some other students did levels three and four. Therfore, it is considered that a large amount of freshmen start the principled-stage thinking. 2) Many freshmen showed high degree of transitional phase(4½) as level P according to frequencies in each moral stage. This reflects the apparent regression from the hightest stages to stage 2 during freshmen's campus life. Additionally, this kind of regression is found in arts and physical education students rather than other students. 3) There is no sex difference in the levels of freshmen's moral judgment. 4) Freshmen justified the transgressions in moral situations on permissibility and generality. Therefore, they appear to view moral issues as more legitimately subject to moral domain. In part, they tend to view moral issues as subject to conventional domain in that they justify the affairs related to peers of elders on rule-dependence. 5) Freshmen's domain distinction was apparent in that they justified conventional issues on generality. However, they are also seem to moralize since they partly view conventional issues containing relationships with parents as subject to moral domain. 6) Freshmen justified personal issues on rule-dependence and generality. Therfore, it is concluded that they justify the personal issues as subject to conventional domain. 7) Freshmen are more likely to reason about moral issues as personal obligation and sort them as under moral domain. However, within-domain differences in justifications are apparent in that freshmen treated the moral issues as subject to customs or traditions, or personal choice. 8) A strong moralizing is evident in that freshmen conceived conventional issues in terms of other's welfare rather than conventional reason. 9) The within-domain consistence is obvious in that freshment reasoned about personal issues as personal and sort them as under personal domain. However, it is found freshmen's moral conceptions are dependent on situations because some students justified personal issues on other's welfare or obligation while other sutdents did on moral reasons and conventional sanctions or customs.

Abstract: Copper is an essential micronutrient whose deficiency is often seen to occur in humans. Although many biomedicalstudies have focused on the use of nanoparticles, the nutritional effects of nano-sized copper oxide particles are not wellknown. This aim of this study was to investigate the nutritional bioavailability of nano- and micro-sized copper oxide (CuO)particles in copper-deficient (CuD) mice. Copper deficiency was induced in mice by feeding a CuD diet (0.93 mg Cu/kg diet)for 7 weeks. After the induction of copper deficiency, nano- or micro-sized copper oxide particles were administered orallyat two different doses (0.8 and 4.0 mg CuO/kg body weight) to mice in the following groups: (1) normal control (NC), (2)CuD, (3) low dose micro-sized CuO, (4) high dose micro-sized CuO, (5) low dose nano-sized CuO, and (6) high dosenano-sized CuO. The hepatic copper concentration in the CuD group was significantly lower than that in the NC group. Compared to the NC group, the CuD group exhibited lower serum ceruloplasmin (CP) activity and CP level. Thecopper/zinc-superoxide dismutase activity in the CuD group was significantly lower than that in the NC group. Treatment withnano- or micro-sized copper oxide particles for 2 weeks restored the hepatic copper levels and serum CP activities to valuessimilar to those observed in the NC group. The CP levels and copper/zinc-superoxide dismutase activities in all the copperoxide treatment groups also recovered to normal values after 3 weeks of copper oxide treatment. These results show thatoral administration of either nano- or micro-sized copper oxide particles for 2–3 weeks restored the normal condition inpreviously CuD mice.
Prevalence of endoparasite infection on stray dogs in Chungbuk province

As the companion animal industry has shown rapid development in Korea, the number of stray animals has increased. This phenomenon has become a social issue in terms of animal welfare, as well as public health-related problems. However, the authoriries have difficulty in coping with the problems, because the number of research studies on stray animals is insufficient. In this study, 49 feces of stray dogs were examined in three animal shelters located in Chung-buk province, in order to establish baseline data for parasite distributions on stray dogs. The zinc-sulfate flotation and formalin-ether sedimentation methods were used for parasite isolation. The examined dogs consisted of 26 males and 23 females, and they were categorized as three groups, including puppies (<1y), juveniles (1~3y), and adults (>3y). On microscopic examination, 28 feces were considered as infected (57.14%). The isolated parasite eggs were composed of 11 different species. The most frequent species was Ancylostoma caninum (28.57%), followed by lsospora canis (24.49%), Trichuris vulpis (10.20%), Toxocara leonina (6.12%), etc. The older dogs had a higher prevalence rate however, no significant relevance were observed between sex and prevalence. All cases of Toxocara leonina infection (n=3) belonged to the male group, and all cases of Trichuris vulpis infection (n=5) belonged to the juvenile group. Infection of A. caninum and 1. canis were identified as the most frequent case of co-infection. A. caninum and 1.canis were the parasites showing the greatest infestation in Chungbuk. In addition, as zoonotic parasites were identified, a proper surveillance system should be required.
Acute toxicity assessment for TiO₂ photocatalyst (GST) made from wastewater using TiCl₄ in rat

TiO₂ was a photocatalyst that used to the most common product because of the high efficiency. TiO₂ (P-25, commercial nanomaterial product) is the most typical photocatalyst product and TiO₂ (GST) was a sludge recycling product. This study was reported to evaluate an acute toxicity of TiO₂ (P-25 and GST) according to OECD test guideline 402 and 423 in Sprague-Dawley (SD) female rats via route of oral and dermal. There was investigated the lethal dose (LD<SUB>50</SUB>), and mortality, clinical signs, body weight changes and gross findings were continually monitored for 14 days following the single administration. After administration, TiO₂ (P-25) was calculated that LD<SUB>50</SUB> was considered to be a dose of over 2000 mg/kg body weight for both different route of exposure, and TiO₂ (GST) was the same. Other items were no observed an adverse effect between P-25 and GST; no mortality and clinical signs, accidental body weight loss, no gross findings. On the basis of the above results, the toxicity of the GST was almost equal to that of the commercial product, P-25 and there was no toxicological evidence.
Physical Analysis of nahQ tnpA Genes from Pseudomonas fluorescens

Pseudomonas fluorescens SM11 is a naphthalene-degrading strain whose dissimilatory genes are cho-mosomally encoded. We have cloned the 2.9 kb Sal I fragment harboring genes for the naphthalene-degrading upper pathway. The nucleotide sequences were determined to be nahQ, napA, and partial regions of nahE genes. The nahQ encods a protein of 188 amino acid residues with a deduced molec-ular wight of 20.8kDa. The high homology with other proteins suggests that NAhQ may be an active and useful protein whtich gives as selective advantage to naphthalene degradatin. Transposase(TnpA)encodes a polypetide chain with a molecular mass of 41.8kDa consisting of 376 amino acid residues. The deduced anino acid sequence of tnpA revealed 96% idenitity with putative transposase of P. stutzeri OX1,. It was assumed that transposase plays an important role in the evloution of the catabloic-path way in the regulation of nah expression.

Idiopathic hypereosinophilic syndrome (IHES) is a rare disorder defi ned by persistent blood eosinophilia, evidence of eosinophil-associated organ dysfunction and absence of secondary causes. Eosinophilic infi ltration and its mediator release cause damage to multiple organs. IHES can involve every organ system, but bladder involvement is rare. We report a case of idiopathic hypereosinophilic syndrome with both bladder and gastrointestinal tract involvement. A 43-year-old woman visited to our hospital because of urinary frequency, abdominal pain and diarrhea for several months. Abdominal pelvic CT scan showed diffuse wall thickenings in bladder and colon with small pelvic ascites. Laboratory investigation showed a marked peripheral eosinophilia and tissue biopsies confi rmed eosinophilic infi ltration in bladder wall, esophagus, and duodenum. She was treated with prednisolone and her symptoms as well as eosinophilia were gradually improved.
