Study on Data Processing of the IOT Sensor Network Based on a Hadoop Cloud Platform and a TWLGA Scheduling Algorithm

Guoyu Li,Kang Yang 한국정보처리학회 2021 Journal of information processing systems Vol.17 No.6

An Internet of Things (IOT) sensor network is an effective solution for monitoring environmental conditions. However, IOT sensor networks generate massive data such that the abilities of massive data storage, processing, and query become technical challenges. To solve the problem, a Hadoop cloud platform is proposed. Using the time and workload genetic algorithm (TWLGA), the data processing platform enables the work of one node to be shared with other nodes, which not only raises efficiency of one single node but also provides the compatibility support to reduce the possible risk of software and hardware. In this experiment, a Hadoop cluster platform with TWLGA scheduling algorithm is developed, and the performance of the platform is tested. The results show that the Hadoop cloud platform is suitable for big data processing requirements of IOT sensor networks.

Inhibition of caspase-1-dependent apoptosis suppresses peste des petits ruminants virus replication

        Lingxia Li,Shengqing Li,Shengyi Han,Pengfei Li,Guoyu Du,Jinyan Wu,Xiaoan Cao,Youjun Shang 대한수의학회 2023 Journal of Veterinary Science Vol.24 No.5

Background: Peste des petits ruminants (PPR), caused by the PPR virus (PPRV), is an acute and fatal contagious disease that mainly infects goats, sheep, and other artiodactyls. Peripheral blood mononuclear cells (PBMCs) are considered the primary innate immune cells. Objectives: PBMCs derived from goats were infected with PPRV and analyzed to detect the relationship between PPRV replication and apoptosis or the inflammatory response. Methods: Quantitative real-time polymerase chain reaction was used to identify PPRV replication and cytokines expression. Flow cytometry was conducted to detect apoptosis and the differentiation of CD4+ and CD8+ T cells after PPRV infection. Results: PPRV stimulated the differentiation of CD4+ and CD8+ T cells. In addition, PPRV induced apoptosis in goat PBMCs. Furthermore, apoptosis and the inflammatory response induced by PPRV could be suppressed by Z-VAD-FMK and Z-YVAD-FMK, respectively. Moreover, the virus titer of PPRV was attenuated by inhibiting caspase-1-dependent apoptosis and inflammation. Conclusions: This study showed that apoptosis and the inflammatory response play an essential role in PPR viral replication in vitro, providing a new mechanism related to the cell host response.

Seismic analysis of half-through steel truss arch bridge considering superstructure

        Ruiqi Li,Xinzhe Yuan,Wancheng Yuan,Xinzhi Dang,Guoyu Shen 국제구조공학회 2016 Structural Engineering and Mechanics, An Int'l Jou Vol.59 No.3

This paper takes a half-through steel truss arch bridge as an example. A seismic analysis is conducted with nonlinear finite element method. Contrast models are established to discuss the effect of simplified method for main girder on the accuracy of the result. The influence of seismic wave direction and wave-passage on seismic behaviors are analysed as well as the superstructure and arch ring interaction which is mostly related with the supported bearings and wind resistant springs. In the end, the application of cable-sliding aseismic devices is discussed to put forward a layout principle. The main conclusions include: ① The seismic response isn’t too distinctive with the simplified method of main girder. Generally speaking, the grillage method is recommended. ② Under seismic input from different directions, arch foot is usually the mostly dangerous section. ③ Vertical wave input and horizontal wave-passage greatly influence the seismic responses of arch ring, significantly increasing that of midspan. ④ The superstructure interaction has an obvious impact on the seismic performance. Half-through arch bridges with long spandrel columns fixed has a less response than those with short ones fixed. And a large stiffness of wind resistant spring makes the the seismic responses of arch ring larger. ⑤ A good isolation effectiveness for half-through arch bridge can be achieved by a reasonable arrangement of CSFABs.

Paste Stability and Desizability of Poly(Sodium Allyl Sulfonate)-g-Starch-g-Poly(Ethyl Acrylate) Used as Warp Sizing Agent

        Wei Li,Qian Liu,Guoyu Zhang,Xuedong Cheng,Yingfeng Wang,Zhenzhen Xu 한국섬유공학회 2022 Fibers and polymers Vol.23 No.8

This work aimed to evaluate the paste stability and desizability of new starch grafted copolymer [poly(sodium allylsulfonate)-g-starch-g-poly(ethyl acrylate)] (PSAS-g-starch-g-PEA) for providing an important supporting role in sizingapplication. The PSAS-g-starch-g-PEA samples were prepared by grafting reaction of acid-thinned starch (AHS) with SASand subsequent with EA in water phase. The PSAS-g-starch-g-PEA granules were characterized by Fourier transforminfrared spectroscopy and scanning electron microscopy. Also, paste stability was assessed and desizability was investigatedin terms of desizing efficiency, swelling ability of the film and time interval for the break of starch film in water. Comparedwith control AHS, the PSAS-g-starch-g-PEA had higher paste stability, desizing efficiency and swelling ability, and lowertime interval required, concluding that the PSAS and PEA branches could promote the paste stability and desizability ofstarch. Increasing the number of both branches facilitated the paste stability and desizability. PSAS-g-starch-g-PEA displayedpotential value in textile sizing field.

Selection and identification of single-domain antibody against Peste des Petits Ruminants virus

        Dan Liu,Lingxia Li,Xiaoan Cao,Jinyan Wu,Guoyu Du,Youjun Shang 대한수의학회 2021 Journal of Veterinary Science Vol.22 No.4

Background: Peste des petits ruminants (PPR) is an infectious disease caused by the peste des petits ruminants virus (PPRV) that mainly produces respiratory symptoms in affected animals, resulting in great losses in the world's agriculture industry every year. Single-domain variable heavy chain (VHH) antibody fragments, also referred to as nanobodies, have high expression yields and other advantages including ease of purification and high solubility. Objectives: The purpose of this study is to obtain a single-domain antibody with good reactivity and high specificity against PPRV. Methods: A VHH cDNA library was established by immunizing camels with PPRV vaccine, and the capacity and diversity of the library were examined. Four PPRV VHHs were selected, and the biological activity and antigen-binding capacity of the four VHHs were identified by western blot, indirect immunofluorescence, and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) analyses. ELISA was used to identify whether the four VHHs were specific for PPRV, and VHH neutralization tests were carried out. ELISA and western blot analyses were used to identify which PPRV protein was targeted by VHH2. Results: The PPRV cDNA library was constructed successfully. The library capacity was greater than 2.0 × 106 cfu/mL, and the inserted fragment size was approximately 400 bp to 2000 bp. The average length of the cDNA library fragment was about 1000 bp, and the recombination rate was approximately 100%. Four single-domain antibody sequences were selected, and proteins expressed in the supernatant were obtained. The four VHHs were shown to have biological activity, close affinity to PPRV, and no cross-reaction with common sheep diseases. All four VHHs had neutralization activity, and VHH2 was specific to the PPRV M protein. Conclusions: The results of this preliminary research of PPRV VHHs showed that four screened VHH antibodies could be useful in future applications. This study provided new materials for inclusion in PPRV research.

Apolipoprotein H: a novel regulator of fat accumulation in duck myoblasts

        Ziyi Pan,Guoqing Du,Guoyu Li,Dongsheng Wu,Xingyong Chen,Zhaoyu Geng 한국축산학회 2022 한국축산학회지 Vol.64 No.6

Apolipoprotein H (APOH) primarily engages in fat metabolism and inflammatory disease response. This study aimed to investigate the effects of APOH on fat synthesis in duck myoblasts (CS2s) by APOH overexpression and knockdown. CS2s overexpressing APOH showed enhanced triglyceride (TG) and cholesterol (CHOL) contents and elevated the mRNA and protein expression of AKT serine/threonine kinase 1 (AKT1), ELOVL fatty acid elongase 6 (ELOVL6), and acetyl-CoA carboxylase 1 (ACC1) while reducing the expression of protein kinase AMP-activated catalytic subunit alpha 1 (AMPK), peroxisome proliferator activated receptor gamma (PPARG), acyl-CoA synthetase long chain family member 1 (ACSL1), and lipoprotein lipase (LPL). The results showed that knockdown of APOH in CS2s reduced the content of TG and CHOL, reduced the expression of ACC1, ELOVL6, and AKT1, and increased the gene and protein expression of PPARG, LPL, ACSL1, and AMPK. Our results showed that APOH affected lipid deposition in myoblasts by inhibiting fatty acid beta-oxidation and promoting fatty acid biosynthesis by regulating the expression of the AKT/AMPK pathway. This study provides the necessary basic information for the role of APOH in fat accumulation in duck myoblasts for the first time and enables researchers to study the genes related to fat deposition in meat ducks in a new direction.

Study on the performance of different discharging devices of a continuous production system

        Zhenya Duan,Jie Wang,Shujie Sun,Wenchen Li,Haodong Zhang,Guoyue Qiao,Junmei Zhang,Jingtao Wang 한국화학공학회 2022 Korean Journal of Chemical Engineering Vol.39 No.4

Based on the developed continuous production system of sodium phenol carboxylation reaction, severaltypes of discharging devices are proposed, which are suitable for the case where the transported particles are not easyto maintain a stable state in the transported fluid. Numerical simulations of the gas-solid two-phase flow characteristicsand particle distribution were performed with DPM, and the particle retention ratio and fluid loss degree were proposedto investigate the performance of the discharging devices. The results of simulations and industrial experimentsshowed that a guide plate installed in the “B” discharging device can solve the accumulation problem, realize the efficientand continuous delivery of the particles, and maintain a uniform distribution of particles. This study can providea reference for the design of a gas-solid two-phase discharging device, and guide the industrial experimental operationand modification of continuous production systems for sodium phenol carboxylation.

Study on Tensile Strength and Tensile-Shear Coupling Mechanism of Loess around Lanzhou and Yanan City in China by Unconfined Penetration Test

        Xuyang Wu,Fujun Niu,Qingguo Liang,Guoyu Li 대한토목학회 2019 KSCE JOURNAL OF CIVIL ENGINEERING Vol.23 No.6

Tensile strength is an important but seldom noticed parameter that reveals the constitutive relations of soil. For the loess, the tensile strength can be used to explain earthwork-induced damages such as tension cracks in cut slopes and corresponding slope failures, or natural disasters such as ground fissures. The present study chose an indirect method, particularly the unconfined penetration (UP) test, to measure the tensile strength of remolded loess and undisturbed Q2 and Q3 loess obtained from different districts in China. The results indicated that the tensile strength of the undisturbed loess was primary determined by the void ratio. In addition, multiple correlations were observed between the void ratio and the degree of saturation. The tensile linear stiffness exhibited an exponential increase following an increase in the tensile strength. The mechanism of the tensile-shear coupling strength criterion was proposed. Linear relations between the mechanical parameters were deduced under the tensile-shear coupling condition and were verified by the remolded and undisturbed loess, respectively. Both the unconfined compressive strength and cohesion decreased under the tensile-shear coupling condition. Comparisons with other strength models validated the suitability of the tensile-shear coupling strength criterion for the loess. This study aims to present a more comprehensive understanding on the tensile strength of loess and offer parameter guidance for stability calculations in practical engineering.

Diversity, Interspecific Interaction and Abundance of Undergrowth in Monocultures and Integrated Systems of Natural Rubber Plantation in Danzhou, Southern China

Chima, Uzoma Darlington,Qi, Dongling,Wu, Zhixiang,Lan, Guoyu,Chen, Li Institute of Forest Science 2022 Journal of Forest Science Vol.38 No.2

The negative impact of monoculture rubber plantations on biodiversity and associated ecological processes/ecosystem services has led to suggestions on the use of integrated land use systems for rubber cultivation and production in order to ensure environmental sustainability. However, there is paucity of information on the effect of such integrated land use systems on the diversity and abundance of the rubber plantation undergrowth. We evaluated and compared undergrowth plant species composition, richness, abundance, diversity and interaction, in three integrated systems (Rubber-Strelitzia reginae Integrated System - RSrIS, Rubber-Podocarpus nagi Integrated System - RPnIS & Naturally Managed Rubber Plantation - NMRP) with three Rubber Monoculture Plantations (RMP1, RMP2 & RMP3) adjacent to the integrated systems, respectively, at the Investigation and Experiment Station of Tropical Crops, Danzhou, Hainan, China. Undergrowth species density was higher in the rubber monocultures than in the integrated systems except in RSrIS. Species richness and diversity were also higher in the monocultures except in NMRP. Species similarity/interaction between the monocultures and the integrated systems was highest between RMP3 and NMRP. The NRMP proved to be the best model of natural rubber integrated system for the conservation of undergrowth species richness, diversity and interspecific interaction. However, the conservation of undergrowth species in other forms of integrated natural systems can be enhanced by considering the ecology of species to be integrated in terms of their growth characteristics, competitive nature, and ability to grow in association with other species.

Formalizing the Role of Social Capital on Individuals' Continuous Use of Social Networking Sites from a Social Cognitive Perspective

Guo, Yu,Li, Yiwei,Ito, Naoya Center for Asian Public Opinion ResearchCollaborat 2014 Asian journal for public opinion research Vol.1 No.2

By integrating useful insights from social cognitive theory and social capital theory, we aim to develop a model for better understanding people's behaviors related to the use of social networking sites (SNSs) and formalize the role of social capital in individuals' continuous SNS use. Propositions that emphasize the triadic interactive relationships among environmental, personal, and behavioral factors were highlighted in this study. After reviewing previous studies, in this paper we proposed the following: (1) the causation between SNS use and individuals' perceived social capital might be mutual; social capital may not only be the result of media selectivity, but could also be an essential stimulus initiating the start of using SNSs; (2) the influences of SNSs use on the generation of individuals' online social capital might be conditional upon particular patterns of use; (3) both the level of dependence on SNSs and the differentiated patterns of SNSs use vary according to individuals' perceived offline social capital and their personal characteristics, for instance, personality or self-construal, and social anxiety.
