        The main purpose of this paper is to indentify the transportation problems in Taegu Metropolitan Area and to provide the future directions for the developing transportation systems. As the economy of Taegu city and the urban population have grown rapidly during the last two decades, the traffic demand has increased remarkably . Although the investment to the transportation sector has been expanded quite a lot during this period, the level of service is still inadequate to accommodate the fast growing traffic demand. These problems can include a lack of connectivity to both major roads and other urbanized areas, inadequate parking space, and inadequate mass transit. There are two basic remedies to these problems : increase supply and/or reduce demand. This paper deals with how to cope with increased demand as well as provide suitable transportation supply systems in Taegu.

      • Fluoxetine이 Schedule-Induced Polydipsia가 유발된 백서 뇌에서 Tyrosine Hydroxylase 발현에 미치는 영향

        연구목적: Fluoxetine은 serotonin을 매개하여 간접적으로 dopamine 신경전달기능을 억제한다고 추정되고 있다. 또한 운동장애에서 운동기능의 악화를 유발한다고 알려져 있다. 그러나 신경세포체에서 fluoxetine이 dopamine에 어떠한 영향을 주는지는 아직까지 확실치 않다. 저자들은 schedule-induced polydipsia를 유발시킨 백서 뇌의 흑질, 복부피개영역, 미상핵에서 tyrosine hydroxylase(TH) 발현이 저하됨을 발견하였다. 이를 통해서 fluoxetine이 백서 뇌의 dopamine 기능에 긍정적인지 혹은 부정적인지를 규명하고자 하였다. 방법: 4주간의 schedule-induced polydipsia 과정을 거친 백서에서 면역죄치화학적인 방법으로 흑질, 복부피개영역, 미상핵의 tyrosine hydroxylase 발현이 저하됨을 확인한 후, 실험동물들에게 fluoxetine 10mg/kg를 3주간 복강내 주사하였다. 실험백서들을 희생시켜 뇌 조직을 적출하여, TH 면역조직화학 염색법을 이용하여 흑질, 복부피개영역, 그리고 미상핵의 TH 면역반응세포를 관찰하고 이를 정상백서와 비교하였다. 결과: 1) 다갈증이 유발된 백서의 흑질, 복부피개영역, 미상핵에서 tyrosine hydroxylase 발현이 정상백서 보다 저하됨을 관찰하였다. 2) 3주간에 걸친 fluoxetine 투여후 흑질, 복부피개영역, 미상핵의 tyrosin hydroxylase 발현이 다시 증가하는 소견을 보였다. 결론: Fluoxetine 만성투여가 흑질, 복부피개영역 그리고 미상핵의 tyrosin hydroxylase를 증가시키는 소견을 얻었다. 이러한 결과는 임상에서 dopamine 결핍과 연관된 질환들에서 fluoxetine을 만성투여하면 운동기능을 포함한 증상들의 개선을 가져올 수도 있다고 추정된다. Objective: It has been suggested that fluoxetine inhibits the dopaminergic neurotransmission by serotonergic mediation. And also, it has been shown to inhibit synthesis of DOPA in dopamine-rich areas of the rat forebrain. These dopamine-antagonistic capacity of fluoxetine is only supported by anecdotal report that the increased amount of motor disability in patients with idiopathic Parkinson's disease after exposure to fluoxetine. However, there is still no evidence of the direct effect of fluoxetine on dopaminergic neuronal cell body in the substantia nigra, VTA, caudate & putamen. This study was designed to evaluate the effects of fluoxetine in rat brain which showed decreased numbers of dopaminergic neuronal cell body induced by schedule-induced polydipsia(SIP). Method: We incidentally found that 4 weeks of schedule-induced polydipsic rats revealed the suppression of tyrosine hydroxylase expression in the substantia nigra, VTA, caudate & putamen with the immunohistochemistric measures. After 3 weeks of intraperitoneal injection of 10mg/kg of fluoxetine to the schedule induced polydipsic rats, the tyrosine hydroxylase expression was also measured with immunohistochemistry. We compared the tyrosine hydroxylase expression among the normal control, the polydipsic rats, and the rats with fluoxetine treatment. Results: 1) By contrast with the control, the polydipsic rats revealed the evidence of decreased tyrosine hydroxylase expression in the substantia nigra, VTA, caudate & putamen. 2)After daily injection of fluoxetine for 3 weeks, the polydipsic rats showed increment of tyrosine hydroxyase expression in those areas. Conclusions: In previous studies, a great deal of results suggest that fluoxetine negatively influence the dopaminergic systems indirectly via serotonergic activation such as inhibition of dopamine synthesis or transport system. Although our results are obtained from rodents, we suggest that fluoxetine directly and positively enhance the dopamine system in the substantia nigra, VTA, caudate & putamen. The chronic adminstration of fluoxetine may be helpful to dopamine-depleted condition in clinical situations. We anticipate the replication studies of our findings and well-controlled clinical trial.

        Essential thrombocythemia is a chronic myeloproliferative disorder of unknown origin, charcterized by excessive number of morphologically and functionally abnormal platelet in peripheral blood and abnormal proliferation of megakaryocytes in bone marrow. Its main clinical manifestations are hemorrhages and thromboses. The aim of therapy is suppression of the excessive bone marrow activity, which can be achieved by radioactive phosphorus, alkylating agent, hydroxyurea and interferon. Two cases were diagnosed at our hospital which had laboratory and clinical features compatible with this disease. We have successfully treated patient with hydroxyurea and platelet antiaggregating agent.

        A pocket park is valued in securing green space in downtown and improving urban view in the aspect of natural and environmental values, and it signifies a lot as the center of local residents’ community and harmony as well. Since subway exits and surroundings that have high portions in taking up street space due to lack of green space in downtown aren't made full use of, valuable pocket park place. Dangni Pocket Park of subway exits is a park completed with cooperative works and partnership by students, specialists, administrative organizations, businesses and civilian organizations, etc. without support of special budget. The study site was finally chosen to the space between exit No.1 of Dangni subway station, after analyzing the surrounding circumstances, availability and accessibility of the space among the several subway station exits of Saha, Dangni, and Hadan Station in Busan Metropolitan city. For the designing process, The Citizens organization for Million Amenity Park performed the planning and project proceeding, and 19 design drafts were proposed during the class of landscape architecture in Dong-a University. Design review panel members discussed to select the best draft in practical and authentical, and the related experts reviewed and revised to present the final design plan. The construction was conducted was performed under the cooperation between the civil, authorities, and industrial organizations, among which Saha District office managed for the waste treatment and maintenance matters. The graduates of landscape architecture department of Dong-a University and related industrial enterprises supplied landscape materials and related labors, were supported by 20 members of GPM, one of clubs of Dong-a University volunteered durig the most of construction progress, completing the Pocket Park of subway exits through partnership.

      • 암남공원의 식물상과 삼림식생에 관한 연구

        The objective of this study is to analyze the flora and forest vegetation of Amnam urban natural Park. 10 transects of quadrat of 10×10m were selected for the experiment. They were surveyed from January to October 1997. The obtained results were summerized as follows ; 1. The flora of plants distributed in Amnam Park was 88 families, 245 genus, 374 species. Dicotyledom in an angiosperm was 81.3% of total percentage was 73 families, 194 genus, 304 species, Monocotyledonous plant was 13.9% of total percentage was 7 families, 38 genus, 52 species, Gymnospermous plant was 2.1% of total percentage was 4 families, 5 genus, 8 species. Pteridophyta was 2.4% of total percentage was 3 families. 7 genus, 9 species, Shave grass was 0.3% of total percentage was 1 family, 1 genus, 1 species. 2. The representative wood plants of Amnam Park were Pinus thunbergii, Machilus thunbergii, Camellia japonica, Quercus spp., Celtis sinensis, Morus bombysis, Prunus sangentii, Sorbus alnifolia, Albizzia julibrissin, Juniperus rigida, Platycaya strobilacea, Lespedeza spp., Zanthoxylum piperitum, Zanthoxylum schinifolium, Rhus spp., Carpinus coreana, Mallotus japonicus. Ficus erecta, Pittosporum tobira, Eurya japonica. Elaeagnus macrophylla. 3. The area of plant community in Amnam Park was 84.29% in Pinus thunbergii community. 6.7% in Quercus dentata-Celtis sinensis community, 1.5% in Pittosporum tobira-Eurya japonica community, 1.4% in Quercus aliena-Prunus sargentii community, 1.29% in Pinus thunbergii-Pittosporum tobira community, 1.27% in Pinus thunbergii-Eurya japonica community.

      • 국내에서 분리된 Infectious Bovine Rhinotracheitis Virus DNA의 제한효소분석

        Nine strains of infectious bovine rhinotracheitis virus(IBRV) isolated in Korea since 1970 were investigated to elucidate the pathogenicity on various cell lines and the reactivity in cross serum neutralization test. The genomes of the viruses were also studied by restriction endonuclease analysis to examine the genetical patterns and the origin of the viruses. Results obtained by experiment were as follows ; 1. In pathogenicity test on various cell lines by cytopathology and immunofluorescence antibody assay, MDBK cells were found to be very susceptible to all of the domestic isolates, Colorado and Oxford strains and RK-13 cells, mildly reactive to all of viruses. However, CV-1 and BHK cells revealed negligible reactions against all of viruses tested. 2. In cross serum neutralization(SN) test with the positive serum from the cattle immunized with PQ7 strain of IBRV, PQ7, SQ, VS, A14, TSV and S′74-7 strains showed 64 of SN titer, and IQ, QW, A37, Colorado and Oxford strains, 128 of SN titer. It was assumed that there is no difference in major antigenic determinants among the viruses. 3. By analysis of restriction endonuclease Hind Ⅲ, it was found that 8 domestic isolates except A37 and Colorado strain revealed the identical banding patterns. However, Oxford strain showed quite different patterns, displaying H band at 6.9×10 exp (6) daltons and K′band at 4.5×10 exp (6) daltons. A37 strain exclusively contained the longer bands of A′ and A″. 4. When the viral DNA were analyzed by restriction endonuclease EcoRI, all of the domestic isolates and Colorado strain showed very similar banding patterns, whereas Oxford strain revealed a considerable discrepancy, displaying B′ band at 12.5×10 exp (6) daltons. 5. By analysis of restriction endonuclease BamHI, it was found that the domestic isolates and Colorado strain revealed similar patterns displaying 8 fragments. However, Oxford strain was cleaved into 9 fragments displaying G′and G″ bands.

      • Risperidone이 백서의 억제된 자발적 교대행동에 미치는 영향

        Objectives : Recently, some case reports have shown that risperidone is effective to refractory obsessive-compulsive disorder. Possible explanations for efficacy of risperidone in refractory obsessive-compulsive disorder maybe due to that it is both serolonin and dopamine receptor antagonist. On the basis of serotonin-dopamine interaction hypothesis, a biological etiology of obsessive-compulsive disorder, the effect of risperidone was evaluated to the suppressed spontaneous alternation behaviour of animal model of obsessive-compulsive disorder in rats. Methods : The apparatus for spontaneous alternation behaviour was a black plexiglas T-maze with distinctive black and white goal boxes. Black gullotine doors separated the start box and the goal boxes from the main body of the T-maze Small cups were placed in the corners of both goal boxes(all arms measured 50×10cm) 24 hours prior to experiment, rats(Spraque-Dawley) were food-deprived. The food-deprived rats were put into T-maze, in which both goal boxes were baited with small amounts of chocolate milk. Each rat was given 2 set of 7 trials during which it was placed in the start box and allowed to choose the one of the goal boxes for checked. After baseline of the number of choices of spontaneous alternation behaviour was stabilized, the pontaneous alternation disrupted by nonselective 5-HT agonist, 5-MeODMT (1.25mg/kg/IP). The experimental animals were stratified into 5 groups, fluoxetine(10mg/kg/IP), risperidone(0.1mg/Kg/IP), haloperidol(0.1㎎/Kg/IP), fluoxetine(10mg/Kg) with haloperidol(0.1 mg/Kg), and saline(0.5cc/IP) control group. Each drugs were injected for 21 days as a chronic treatment. The protective effects were evaluated on the nest day of discontinuation of the each drugs among 5 groups. Results : 1) After 21 days of the drug treatment, the risperidone group and the fluoxetine group showed significant difference from the haloperidol group and the saline control group on the protection of the 5-MeODMT induced suppression of spontaneous alternation behaviour. 2) The fluoxetine group and fluoxetine with haloperidol group showed significant difference between before and after treatment in the protection of 5-MeODMT induced suppression of spontaneous alternation behaviour. The risperidone group also showed significant difference between before and after treatment in the protection of 5-MeODMT induced suppression of spontaneous alternation behaviour, but the protective effect of risperidone was superior to fluoxetine. Conclusion : These findings suggest that both risperidone and fluoxetine have a favorable effect in the protection of 5-MeODMT induced suppression of spontaneous alternation behaviour. We think that risperidone can be possible alternatives to SSRIs in the treatment of refractory obsessive-compulsive disorder in clinical situation.

      • 乘鹤山 들쥐類의 生態에 관한 硏究

        This study was conducted four ecological survey of field mice of in Mt. Sunghak Busan City from October, 2004 to July, 2005 for the understanding of field mice damage to forest. The results are obtained as follows. 1. The species of field mice collected were Apodemus agrarills, and Eofhenomys regulus. 2. The total collecting rate were 2.5% collected 13 individuals of field mice from 510 trap. 3. The rate among the 13 field mice collected were 69.2% in Apodemlls agrarills, and 30.8% in Eothenomys regulus. 4. The constitution of weight of field mice was 18-4 1.9g in Apodemus agrarius and Eothenomys regulus. 5. The sex ratio of field mice was 55.6% 44.4% in Apodemus agrarills, and 25.0% 75.0% in Eothenomys regulus. 6. The average body, tail, hind foot, ear lengh was 9 1.0mm, 77.22mm, 20.22mm, 13.33mm in Apodemus agrarius, and 93 .5mm, 39.0mm, 18.25mm, 13 .0mm in Eothenomys regltllls. 7. The breeding period of field mice in Mt. Sunghak presumes from about April. 8. The average litter size of field mice was 5.0 in Eothenomys regulus.

      • 신경회로망 제어기를 이용한 PID 파라미터 추정에 관한 연구

        In this paper, supposed to solve these problem to PID parameters controller algorithm using ANN. In the proposed algorithm, the parameters of the controller were adjusted to reduce by on-line system the error of the speed of IM. In this process, EBPA NN was constituted to an output error value of an IM and conspired an input and output. The performance of the self-tuning controller is compared with that of the PH) controller tuned by conventional method (Ziehler-Nichols). The effectiveness of the proposed control method is verified thought the Matlab Simulink and experimental results.

      • 공황장애의 임상적 특성

        Objectives : To clarify clinical features of panic disorder and to compare the characteristics of cognitive patterns, avoidance behaviors, and coping strategies among patients who have panic disorder with or without agoraphobia. Methods : Family backgrounds, cognitive patterns in the first panic attack, coping strategies, and avoidance behaviors were compared among the three groups classified by panic patients with mild agoraphobia(mild PDA=66), severe agoraphobia(severe PDA=71), and without agoraphobia(PD=21) Results : 1) Severe PDA reported significantly high panic attack frequency and more dysfunctional level than PD. 2) Catastrophic thinking of 'dying' in PD was significantly frequent than the other groups. Other fears of 'going craze or loss of control' in severe PDA were the highest among the three groups, though it was not significant. Specific thinking process or interpretation in the first panic attack was not significantly different among the three groups. 3) As avoidance behaviors became worse, the frequency of avoidance behaviors and the patters of avoidance behaviors increased. Conclusions : The results suggested that as avoidance behaviors became worse, the frequency of panic, maladaptive functioning and the patterns of avoidance behaviors increase. This might be why we need to decrease avoidance behaviors through exposure as the treatment.
