      • A Comparative Analysis of Adaptive IIR Filtering Techniques using LabVIEW

Divya Sharma,Rashpinder Kaur,Gurjinder Singh 보안공학연구지원센터 2015 International Journal of Hybrid Information Techno Vol.8 No.8

Removal of noises from real-time speech signal is a typical problem. The signal interference initiated by background noise is a major problem in voice communication systems. Adaptive Filtering methods have emerged as an important technology for communication systems. This technique has been employed to improve the quality of the speech signal by cancelling the undesirable phenomenon such as acoustic noise. In this paper, for the removal of additional noise from speech signal an adaptive filter has been designed using LMS, NLMS, SLMS and VSS-LMS algorithms. This paper presents the instigation of Least Mean Square algorithm (LMS), Normalized Least Mean Square algorithm (NLMS), Sign Least mean square algorithm (SLMS) and Variable step size (VSS) algorithm on an infinite impulse response (IIR) filter using adaptive filter toolkit of LabVIEW software. User interface is designed using LabVIEW to obtain the learning curves for these adaptive algorithms. The final results show the comparison of the performance of the entire proposed algorithms with each other. The complete performance of the designed system in terms of stability and convergence rate has been observed.

Roasted garlic protects against leaky gut syndrome in dextran sodium sulfate-induced colitis mice

        Divya Sharma,Madhuri Sangar,박점련,강성국,함경식 한국식품과학회 2022 Food Science and Biotechnology Vol.31 No.10

Garlic (Allium sativum) is a potentially beneficial functional food that is extensively grown around the globe. We have investigated the effect of roasted garlic on a dextran sodium sulfate (DSS)-induced intestinal permeability model in mice. Mice were divided into four diet groups: CON, DSS, RG (roasted garlic), and RG + Purple bamboo salt (RGP) in the AIN 93G diet for 3 weeks. All groups except the CON group received 2% DSS in drinking water at the last week of the experiment. DSS groups showed significantly elevated gut permeability levels and decreased tight junction protein expression compared to CON. However, RG and RGP displayed remarkably lower trends of gut permeability, increased tight junction protein expression, increased number of goblet cells than the DSS group in hematoxylin and eosin and alcian blue-nuclear fast red stained colon sections. These results indicate that roasted garlic could prevent gut leakage induced by DSS.

Instituting environmental sustainability and climate resilience into the governance process: Exploring the potential of new urban development schemes in India

Divya Sharma,Seema Singh 한국외국어대학교 국제지역연구센터 2016 International Area Studies Review Vol.19 No.1

India is on the cusp of major transformation in terms of how it translates and directs urbanization. The recently announced flagship schemes of the Government of India – the ‘Smart Cities’ scheme, the Atal Mission for Rejuvenation and Urban Transformation (AMRUT) scheme, The Housing for All scheme – offer avenues for addressing some of the most daunting challenges that cities in India face today, including climate change impacts and disaster risks. While India has faced multiple climate-related hazards in the recent years, the frequency and intensity of extreme events on the Indian subcontinent has arguably begun to increase. While there have been clear entry points in the governance system and policy making through which the climate resilience agenda could have been integrated into urban development planning in Indian cities, it has not yet been done, largely due to the lack of realization of this very need among India’s decision makers. This paper discusses these issues in detail and outlines the gaps and challenges for bringing climate resilience into the mainstream agenda. Furthermore, it explores the possible avenues or entry points for integrating climate resilience into the urban development agenda through these schemes.

      • Design of Low Power and Secure Implementation of SBox and Inverse-SBox for AES

        Divya Sharma,Ankur Bhardwaj,Harshita Prasad,Jyoti Kandpal,Abhay Saxena,Kumar Shashi Kant,Gaurav Verma 보안공학연구지원센터 2016 International Journal of Security and Its Applicat Vol.10 No.7

In the cutting edge world, data security has turned into an essential issue furthermore the innovation is going to increment quickly. In this paper, the symmetric key standard for encryption and decoding is propelled Encryption standard (AES). The key stride in the AES is the "S-Box". S Box is an imperative segment for symmetric key calculations. An S-box takes some number of information bits "p" and interprets them in yield bits 'q', where "p" is not as a matter of course equivalent to 'q'. In AES Encryption calculation Sub Bytes change uses S-Box and Inverse S-Box uses Inverse of S-Box. The Sub Bytes substitution is a nonlinear byte substitution that uses substitution table (i.e., S-Box) takes the multiplicative reverse (GF (28)) and infers a relative change to do the Sub Bytes change. Though, converse Sub Bytes Substitution additionally uses gaze upward table (i.e., Reverse S-Box) takes an opposite relative change and after that suggests multiplicative backwards of Galois Field (GF (28)). In this printed material, we investigated substitution table/reverse substitution table, multiplicative opposite and relative change and its converse (i.e. reverse relative change) science in Galois field. A standout amongst the most basic issues in AES is the force utilization. Here, we predominantly centered around the force utilization and in addition security of S-box which is the most power devouring square in the AES. We have executed and reproduced S-Box and Inverse S-Box Lookup table and acquired another improved scrambled Lookup table for more upgraded mystery by utilizing Xilinx Spartan-3 assessment board. The Simulation and execution instruments utilized are Xilinx ISE 14.1i and ModelSim 6.0.

Comparative potential of hydrocortisone, deoxycorticosterone and dexamethasone in the prevention of cataract: an in silico and in vitro study

Divya Rana,Ruchika Sharma,Anoop Kumar 경희대학교 융합한의과학연구소 2018 Oriental Pharmacy and Experimental Medicine Vol.18 No.4

Cataract is visual impairment which arises due to disturbance of lens transparency due to aggregation of the protein. Currently, surgery is the only choice for the treatment of cataract. Thus, there is a need for new drugs in the prevention of cataract. In the current investigation, we have checked the potential of hydrocortisone, deoxycorticosterone and dexamethasone against cataract by using in silico and in vitro studies. The structure of a desired target (aldose reductase) has been selected and extracted from Protein Data Bank (http://www.rcsb.org/pdb). The structures of various ligands (hydrocortisone, deoxycorticosterone and dexamethasone) have been drawn by using Chem Draw Ultra 12.0 software. The docking was performed in a Mole Gro Virtual Docker version 6.0. The cataract was induced by using glucose under in vitro conditions and anticataract potential of selected drugs have been analysed by assessing various biochemical parameters. In silico studies have revealed that hydrocortisone, deoxycorticosterone and dexamethasone have good binding interaction with aldose reductase. Further, in vitro studies have been shown the anti-cataract potential of steroidal drugs. The oxidative stress induced by glucose was decreased more significantly in the lens treated with dexamethasone as compared to deoxycorticosterone and hydrocortisone. Further, the protein level was significantly increased after treatment with dexamethasone which indicates its more anti-cataract potential as compared to deoxycorticosterone and hydrocortisone. In conclusion, dexamethasone has potential to prevent the cataract as compared to hydrocortisone and deoxycorticosterone. However, further studies are needed to confirm its complete role as anti-cataract drug.

Atomistic simulations to study crack tip behaviour in single crystal of bcc niobium and hcp zirconium

        Avinash Parashar,Divya Singh,Pankaj Sharma,Sahil Jindal,Prince Kumar,Avinash Parashar 한국물리학회 2019 Current Applied Physics Vol.19 No.1

In this article, molecular dynamics based simulations were carried out to study the fracture toughness of single crystals of niobium (Nb) and zirconium (Zr). Separate set of simulations were performed with different orientations of crack plane in Nb and Zr. In each case, efforts were made to align the crack front with principal planes of corresponding crystal structure, that was bcc for Nb and hcp for Zr. Deformation in single crystal of Nb and Zr was governed either by twinning or emergence of dislocations from the crack tip and surfaces. The deformation mechanism in single crystal of Nb and Zr also helps in governing the overall toughness of the material, while deforming via twinning leads to higher change in the crack length, whereas dislocations emerging from the crack tip blunts the opening and improves the toughness.

High mucosal cytomegalovirus DNA helps predict adverse short-term outcome in acute severe ulcerative colitis

( Saransh Jain ),( Divya Namdeo ),( Pabitra Sahu ),( Saurabh Kedia ),( Peush Sahni ),( Prasenjit Das ),( Raju Sharma ),( Vipin Gupta ),( Govind Makharia ),( Lalit Dar ),( Simon Pl Travis ),( Vineet Ah 대한장연구학회 2021 Intestinal Research Vol.19 No.4

Background/Aims: Predictors of short-term outcome of intravenous (IV) steroid therapy in acute severe ulcerative colitis (ASUC) have been well described, but the impact of cytomegalovirus (CMV) infection as a predictor of outcome remains debatable. We investigated the role of quantitative CMV polymerase chain reaction (PCR) as a predictor of short-term outcome in patients with ASUC. Methods: Consecutive patients with ASUC satisfying Truelove and Witts criteria hospitalized at All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) from May 2016 to July 2019 were included; all received IV steroid. The primary outcome measure was steroid-failure defined as the need for rescue therapy (with ciclosporin or infliximab) or colectomy during admission. AIIMS’ in-dex (ulcerative colitis index of severity >6 at day 1+fecal calprotectin >1,000 μg/g at day 3), with quantitative CMV PCR on biopsy samples obtained at initial sigmoidoscopy were correlated with the primary outcome. Results: Thirty of 76 patients (39%) failed IV corticosteroids and 12 (16%) underwent surgery. Patients with steroid failure had a significantly higher mucosal CMV DNA than responders (3,454 copies/mg [0-2,700,000] vs. 116 copies/mg [0-27,220]; P< 0.01). On multivariable analysis, mucosal CMV DNA load >2,000 copies/mg (odds ratio [OR], 10.2; 95% confidence interval [CI], 2.6-39.7; P<0.01) and AIIMS’ index (OR, 39.8; 95% CI, 4.4-364.4; P< 0.01) were independent predictors of steroid-failure and need for colectomy. The combination correctly predicted outcomes in 84% of patients with ASUC. Conclusions: High mucosal CMV DNA ( >2,000 copies/mg) independently predicts failure of IV corticosteroids and short-term risk of colectomy and it has an additional value to the established markers of disease severity in patients with ASUC. • Roasted garlic protects against leaky gut syndrome in dextran sodium sulfate-induced colitis mice

        Madhuri Sangar,Divya Sharma,Jeom-Leon Park,Seong-Gook Kang,Kyung-Sik Ham 한국식품영양과학회 2021 한국식품영양과학회 학술대회발표집 Vol.2021 No.10

Garlic (Allium sativum) is a potentially beneficial functional food that is extensively grown around the globe. We have investigated the effect of roasted garlic on dextran sodium sulfate (DSS)-induced intestinal permeability model in mice. Mice were divided into four groups CON (AIN-93G diet), DSS (AIN-93G diet), RG (3% roasted garlic in AIN-93G diet), and RGP (3% roasted garlic + 0.7% bamboo salt in AIN-93G diet). All groups except the CON group received 2% DSS in drinking water at the last week of the experiment. DSS groups showed increased gut permeability and decreased occludin-1, ZO-1, and EpCAM protein expression compared to the CON group. However, compared to the DSS group, the RG and RGP groups showed reduced gut permeability and increased occludin-1, ZO-1, and EpCAM protein expression. In hematoxylin and eosin (H&E) stained colon sections, the RG and RGP groups exhibited substantially less damage than the DSS group. AB-NFR stained colon sections from the RG and RGP groups had greater goblet cell numbers than the DSS group. These results suggest that roasted garlic is effective in preventing gastrointestinal permeability (leaky gut) induced by DSS.
