Pennisetum aloperculoides is a key revegetation species mixed with other plants species and used for revegetating cut-slopes. The purpose of this research is to identify the effects of mixed seeding of revegetation plants on cut-slope revegetation with respect to the quantity of Pennisetum aloperculoides seeds. The coverage ratio and appearance frequency of Pennisetum aloperculoides, and other revegetation species were measured to assess the cut-slope revegetation. We divided Pennisetum treatments into four groups with different Pennisetum seed quantities of 0g/m2, 5g/m2, 10g/m2, and 15g/m2. For each treatment group, we mixed identical quantities of seeds from herbaceous flowers (bird`s-boot trefoil, aster, chrysanthemums, golden coreopsis and china pink), cool-season turfgrasses, and woody plants (korean lespedeza, indigo and silk tree). The increase in the quantity of the Pennisetum seeds resulted in the higher coverage ratio for Pennisetum, but in the lower coverage ratio for herbaceous flowers, cool-season turfgrasses, and woody plants. We observed a short-term succession process in which the dominant species shifted in the following order: the initial species Pennisetum, herbaceous flowers, and then lastly woody plants. In case of the appearance frequency, we also observed the higher appearance frequency for Pennisetum and the lower appearance frequency for the other plants due to the increase in the quantity of Pennisetum seeds. Pennisetum, bird`s-foot trefoil and china pink showed the tendency to decrease the appearance frequency from one month after seeding while cool-season turfgrasses became extinct due to summer drought. In the woody plants, the appearance frequencies of korean lespedeza and indigo were high due to the decrease in quantity of Pennisetum seeds. The silk trees were damaged from winter frost and none emerged at all in 2013 (the following year after the seeding). Korean lespedeza and indigo appeared to have the short-term rapid dominance over other treated revegetation plants.

Ethyl acetate (EtOAc) layer obtained after the solvent fractionation of hot water extracts from nutgall tree (Rhus javanica) stem bark showed higher α-glucosidase inhibition activity than other layers. A novel acetophenone glucoside (4) and six known phenolic compounds were isolated from the EtOAc layer. The structure of 4 was determined to be 3,4,5-trihydroxyacetophenone 4-O-β-D-glucopyranoside. The six known compounds were identified as gallic acid (1), 5-methylresorcinol (2), methylgallate (3), 3-hydroxy-5-methylphenol 1-O-β-D-(6'-galloyl)glucopyranoside (5), scopoletin (6), and phlorizin (7). Their chemical structures were determined by electrospray ionization mass spectrometry and nuclear magnetic resonance analyses. Compound 5 was newly identified from this plant. Compounds 6 and 7 showed significantly higher α-glucosidase inhibition activity than other compounds.

분자량이 다른 네 종류의 키토산으로 제조한 필름의 색깔, 수증기투과도, 수분용해도, 인장강도 및 연신율을 측정하여 키토산 필름의 특성에 미치는 키토산의 분자량의 영향에 대해 조사하였다. 일반적으로 키토산 필름의 총색차와 수분용해도는 키토산의 분자량이 증가할수록 감소하였으며, 반면에 인장강도와 연신율은 키토산의 분자량이 증가할수록 증가하는 경향을 나타냈다. 키토산 필름의 수증기투과도는 키토산의 분자량과 뚜렷한 상관관계를 보이지 않았다. Chitosan films were prepared using four types of chitosans with different molecular weight and the effect of molecular weight of chitosan on selected film properties such as color, water vapor permeability (WVP), water solubility (WS), tensile strength (TS), and elongation at break (E) was investigated. Generally, the total color difference (${\Delta}E$) and WS of the films decreased, while TS and E of the films increased as molecular weight of chitosan increased. WVP of the films did not show any significant relationship with molecular weight of chitosan.

To promote the present slight use of bicycles in Korea, bike environment of neighboring community seems to be more valuable than that of nationwide one. Data were collected and analysed from questionaire and several example 'city and bike system'. 4 appliable ideas were developed from the situation of Cheongju and other local areas and were proposed expecting bike-road system improvement. Those are (1) renovation of traffic and planning system_ biker and pedestrian be the 1st consideratin (2) elimination of existing problems_ safety, linkage, road-surface problems, etc. (3) modern public bicycle system import_ 3rd generation or advanced (4) construction of neighborhood system combined with the bike environment
