        한우, 칡소 및 제주 흑우 Calpain-Calpastatin 유전자 다양성

        The aim of study was to investigate genetic diversity for the calpain/calpastatin gene in three Hanwoo breeds [(Brown (n=62), Brindle (n=81) and Jeju Black (n=30)]. Random samples from three breeds of Hanwoo were selected and genotyped for the 7 SNPs of calpain/calpastatin using TaqMan method. Allele frequencies were investigated for CAPN1/CAST gene. Allele frequency of CAST2 SNP was 0.75, 0.59 and 0.22 for Brown, Brindle and Jeju black, respectively. The CAST3 revealed allele frequency of 0.59 and 0.57 in Brown and Jeju Black, while it showed very low allele frequency (0.07) in Brindle. In particular, favorable allele (G allele) for the CAPN1-2 SNP which was shown a strong association with tenderness in Taurine and Indicine cattle revealed 16% and 17% higher allele frequency in Brown Hanwoo (0.82) comparing Brindle (0.66) and Jeju Black Hanwoo (0.65). AMOVA demonstrated that among population variance occupied only 10% of total variance and among individual variance was 0%, while within individual variance was 90% of total variance. This result showed that population effect contributed very small portion of genetic to these three Hanwoo breeds, while within individual variance contributed large portion of genetic diversity within these Hanwoo breeds. In conclusion, three Hanwoo breeds (Brown, Brindle and Jeju black) showed a genetically homogeneous based on the 7 SNPs of CAPN1/CAST gene and it came from same ancestor to form modern Hanwoo breed.

        The author present a modified multi-loop algorithm including feedforward for controlling a 55kW step down chopper in the power supply of Maglev. The control law for the duty cycle consists of three terms. The first is the feedforward term which compensates for variations in the input voltage. The second term consists of the difference between the slowly moving inductor current and output current. The third term consists of proportional and integral terms involving the perturbation in the output voltage. This perturvation is derived by subtracting the desired output voltage from the actual output voltage. The proportional and integral action stabilizes the system and minimizes output voltage error. In order to verify the validity of the proposed multi-loop controller, simulation study was tried using Matlab simulink.

        The objective of this study is to find out the regional farmland price determination factors and their effects on farmland price fluctuatio. The study analyzes the long run equilibrium relationship and the innovation accounting analysis of regional farmland prices and its determinating factors. This empirical result will be helpful to set up the Farmland Utilization Inprovement Program for Korean agricltural structural adjustment in the future.

        구강암의 치료 후 생존율에 영향을 주는 인자에 대한 후향적 연구

        The objective of this research is to find out the influencing factors to recur oral cancers. The outcomes of 85 patients(male: 62 patients, female: 23 patients) with oral cancer who were not treated any pre-operative radiotherapy, chemotherapy or previous oral surgery, other than routine dento-alveolar procedures and a recent diagnostic biopsy were analysed retrospectively. Actuarial (life tables) survival analysis showed the 5 year survival rate was 58%, 52% for male patients, 72% for female patients. The patients who were under 50 years old showed 71% of 5 year survival rate, 51% of 5 year survival rate were above 51 years old group. Patients who were treated with elective neck dissection showed better prognosis which were shown 73% of 5 year survival rate than not neck dissection which were reveal 45% of 5 year survival rate. In TNM stage of patients, advanced stage showed worse prognosis, but only N stage did not suggest to judge good prognosis. Most patients were treated under postoperative radiation therapy and showed better prognosis.

        The purpose of this study was to reform practically a Korean Judo's Doechigi-Bon(Forms of Counterattack, judo's Gaeshi no Kata, Judo's Uradori no Kata, Judo's Gonosen no Kata) that was established in 1955 Korea, according to changing of techniques by Judo's modernization, in order to have Judo's carefulness and systematic diffusion.       • 고조파 분석을 이용한 고저항 지락사고 검출에 관한 연구

        High Impedance Fault(HIF) is defined as fault that general overcurrent relay can not detect or interrupt. When HIF occurs in transmission line, arc with energized high voltage conductor is happened and results in fire hazard, equipment damage or personal threat. This paper proposed the HIF fault detection method using harmonic analysis and showed the arc model which can he implemented within Electromagnetic Transients Program(EMTP). Harmonic analysis is efficient and useful for the detection of HIF in power system because it shows good characteristics about odd harmonic components of current when HIF occurs.

        This study was carried out to remove copper ion in case of activated carbon impregnated sulphur(ACS) dose and different pH using activated carbon impregnated sulphur that prepared from activated carbon at sulphur dioxide atmosphere. Removal copper ion concentration was increased as increasing the ACS dose when copper ion concentration was 10 mg/L. Optimum dose of ACS 13.3 g ACS/L and maximum removal efficiency was 93%. The results obtained from adsorption experiment in the condition of ACS optimum dose when the pH was 3, 4, 5 respectively was pH 5 was excellent.

        기질성 뇌장애 환자의 구조적 뇌영상과 비교한 저해상 전자기 단층 촬영 영상

        Objectives : Patients with organic brain lesion can produce unique slow waves (delta and theta) in the EEG. Basic assumption of this study was that the low resolution electro magnetic tomography (LORETA), an inverse source localization program, can provide functional images representing increased slow wave activity in these patients compared to normal subjects. Methods : The current study was performed by 18 channels digital EEG for 10 patients whose organic deficit have been Visually confirmed by CT or MRI. The source images of slow wave (1-7 Hz) frequency were produced by LORETA-key program. Results : We found that in eight out of ten subjects, LORETA successfully found out the source regions which were very closely matched to their original brain lesions. However in two subjects whose organic brain lesions were too small (<1cm) and located out of gray matter, we failed to find any increased slow wave activity compared with normal control. Conclusion : We can conclude that LORETA could be a useful method to provide functional imaging in patients with gray matter deficits in their brain. Its usefulness and limitations were discussed.

      • TFC을 이용한 하부 요추골에서 후방 추체간 융합술

        To determine which factors influence the successful results in the patients who underwent lumbar arthrodesis with TFC(threaded fusion cage) at L34 to L5S1 intervertebral space. 20 subjects were analysed in retrospective method. Between January 1997 and April 1998, interbody fusion with TFC was undergone on 20 patients, and among them, 19 patients(95% ) were confirmed to have bone fusion at 12 months after operation. All patients were classified into group A(satisfactory results) and group B(unsatisfactory results) according to comprehensive low back questionnaires from their answer. They were checked with reference to intervertebral disc height and scoliotic, and lordotic angle with Cobb's method in the anterioposterior and lateral lumbar spine films before/after operation, and TFC diameter and length were categorized. In group A, 11 cases(55%) of "excellent" results and 5 cases(25%) of "good" results were included. In group B, 2 cases(10%) of "fair" results and 2 cases (10%) of "poor" results were included. In the lateral projection of group A and B. the mean preoperative disc height were 9.88±2.69mm and 10.45±2.39mm. Twelve months after operation, the mean disc height of group A was significantly increased to 14.11±2.14mm, but that in group B was not significantly increased only to 11.50±2.52mm. Preoperatively, the measured scoliotic and lordotic angles between L1 and S1 by Cobb's method were similar in both groups, being 4.18±3.58 and 26.75±6.64 degree in the group A, 3.50±2.65 and 33.25± 13.10 degreee in the group B. Twelve months after operation, the angles for group A were significantly improved to 0 and 48.13±11.83 degree, but in group B, not changed into 4.50±4.79 and 33.75±10.31 degree. The mean diameter and length of TFC in group A were, in each, 15.62± 1.09mm and 24.44±2.39mm but, 12.50±1.00mm and 21.00±0.00mm in those of group B. For successful results after TFC interbody fusion in the lower lumbar spine, recovery of narrow disc space, scoliosis, lordosis accompanied by solid arthrodesis were necessary. The authors propose that relatively larger-sized TFC should be profitable for those cases.
