ethanolic (50% v/v) extracts of Carissa carandas (fruits) (Apocynaceae) and Microstylis wallichii(tubers) (Orchidaceae) were examined for anti-inflamatory and analgesic activities in experimental animals.Carissa carandas and Microstylis wallichii (50 - 200 mg/kg) caused a dose dependent inhibition of swellingcaused by carrageenin significantly in cotton pellet induced granuloma in rats (P < 0.05 to P < 0.001). There was asignificant increase in the analgesy meter induced pain in rats. The extracts of Carissa carandas and Microstyliswallichii resulted in an inhibition of stretching episodes and percentage protection was 16.05 - 17.58%respectively in acetic acid induced writhing.KeywordsCarissa carandas, Microstylis wallichii, pain, inflamation

With the aim of understanding the influence of CeO2 on MgO, Al2O3 and MgAl2O4 in CO2 assistedoxidative dehydrogenation of ethylbenzene to styrene was attempted and the results conveyed that theMgAl2O4 spinel supported CeO2 (CeO2/MgAl2O4) catalyst exhibited superior activity with 80% yield ofstyrene and in apart activity consistency up to 50 h of time-on-stream, revealing the establishment ofsynergism in CeO2/MgAl2O4, ascertained from XRD, BET Surface area, FT-IR, H2-TPR, UV–vis DRS, XPS, TPDand HRTEM techniques, acid-base characteristics of MgAl2O4, smaller particle size of CeO2 and its highdispersion are responsible for elevated activity, stability and regenarable capability.

In this paper, configuration of $1-{\phi}$ seven-level boost DC-link cascade based reversing voltage multilevel inverter (BDCLCRV MLI) is proposed for uninterrupted power supply (UPS) applications. It consists of three level boost converter, level generation unit and full bridge circuit for polarity generation. When compared with conventional boost cascaded H-bridge MLI configurations, the proposed system results in reduction of DC sources, reduced power switches and gate drive requirements. Inverter switching is accomplished by providing appropriate switching angles that is generated by any optimization switching angle techniques. Here, round modulation control (RMC) method is taken as the optimization method and switching angles are derived and the same is compared with various switching angles methods i.e., equal-phase (EP) method, and half-equal-phase (HEP) method which results in improved quality of obtained AC power with lowest total harmonic distortion (THD). Reduction in DC sources and switch count makes the system more cost effective. A simulation and prototype model of $1-{\phi}$ seven-level BDCLCRV MLI system is developed and its performance is analyzed for various operating conditions.
Temperature assessment in surface grinding of tool steels

Surface grinding being the final finishing process has to be performed and evaluated with care as the surface being machined could getdamaged due to high temperatures being generated. This is evaluated with the help of mathematical modelling of the temperature generatedis compared with experimental results obtained during surface grinding of the selected tool steel workpieces in both dry as well aswet environment and further compared with a simulation performed using ANSYS 14 software. The results are found to be correlatingand satisfactory and are in tandem with the ones found from experimentation. The usage of production type grinding wheel reduces thetemperature being generated during grinding. The dressing depth also plays an important role of reducing the temperatures during surfacegrinding.

Basella alba L. (Basellaceae) is an Indian spinach (English) which have extensively used in constipation, urticaria, diuretic, demulcent and antiulcers. This study was aimed to evaluate the standardized fractions with kaempferol from ethyl acetate extract of Basella alba leaves as gastroprotective, in vivo antioxidant and antisecretory activities in ulcerated rats. In this work the standardized fractions with kaempferol from ethyl acetate extract i.e. bioactive fraction of Basella alba leaves (BFBA) at a doses of 50, 100 and 200 mg/kg/b.w was administered orally bis in die for the treatment of acute ulcer induced by ethanol, aspirin, cold restraint stress and pylorus ligation. The in vivo antioxidant enzymes estimation were carried out in cold restraint stress induced ulcer whereas, gastric secretion and mucosal parameters were estimated in pylorus ligation induced ulcer models. BFBA produced significant inhibition of the gastric lesions induced by ethanol (22.82–66.30 %), aspirin (33.16–64.79 %), cold restraint stress (14.55–70.89 %) and pylorus ligation (32.89–69.73 %) respectively as compared to ulcerated control groups. The levels of antioxidant enzymes such as lipid peroxidase and superoxide dismutase were decreases, whereas increases in catalase and glutathione peroxidase values were observed. The results of our studied shown that BFBA possess a significant antiulcer and antisecretory activities probably by reducing the secretion of acids and offering antioxidant protection against oxidative stress-induced gastric damage and by enhancing glycoprotein secretion.
Enhanced Hybrid Privacy Preserving Data Mining Technique

Now a days, large volumes of data is accumulating in every field due to increase in capacity of storage devices. These large volumes of data can be applied with data mining for finding useful patterns which can be used for business growth, improving services, improving health conditions etc. Data from different sources can be combined before applying data mining. The data thus gathered can be misused for identity theft, fake credit/debit card transactions, etc. To overcome this, data mining techniques which provide privacy are required. There are several privacy preserving data mining techniques available in literature like randomization, perturbation, anonymization etc. This paper proposes an Enhanced Hybrid Privacy Preserving Data Mining(EHPPDM) technique. The proposed technique provides more privacy of data than existing techniques while providing better classification accuracy. The experimental results show that classification accuracies have increased using EHPPDM technique.
