        ■ Objectives The purpose of this case study is to report that a hypertension with intracerebral hemorrhage of tae-eumin was treated with 'Cheongsim Yeunja-tang' and then the symptoms were improved and blood pressure was decreased. ■ Methods Although the patient who had hypertension with intracerebral hemorrhage took antihypertension drugs, intermittent increase of blood pressure was shown. We diagnosed him as Tae-eumin and treated with Cheongsim Yeunja-tang. We daily checked blood pressure and evaluated the symptoms. ■ Results After the treatment with Cheongsim Yeunja-tang, blood pressure was decreased and symptoms were improved. ■ Conclusion The result shows Cheongsim Yeunja-tang has antihypertensive effect and improve hypertension symptoms of Tae-eumin patient with intracerebral hemorrhage.

      • A Study on the Functionality of Halophytes from Coast area of Jeollanam-do

        This study was undertaken to improve the perceived value of halophytes and contribute to the activity of the local economy by analyzing the antioxidant activity and mineral content of Suaeda japonica, Tetragonia tetragonoides, and Spergularia marina that grow wild on the mud flats and coastal areas. The total phenolic compound content found in each order is as follows: Suaeda japonica (3.674∼5.989 mg TAE/g dry wt.), Tetragonia tetragonoides (2.515∼4.471 mg TAE/g dry wt.), and Spergularia marina (2.450∼4.067 mg TAE/g dry wt.); DPPH radical scavenging and ABTS cation radical scavenging activities were also recorded in the same order. In the case of minerals, Iron(Fe) was relatively high in Suaeda japonica (960.1∼1,346.7 mg/kg), Manganese(Mn) in Tetragonia tetragonoides (197.1∼574.8 mg/kg), and Zinc(Zn) was relatively high in Spergularia marina (63.19∼216.56 mg/kg). It was confirmed that the mineral content of Suaeda japonica, Tetragonia tetragonoides, and Spergularia marina was significantly higher than that of Chinese cabbage, lettuce, leek, and spinach.

        H₂-공기와 CO-공기 예혼합 화염 사이의 후류상호작용에 있어서 H₂O 첨가 효과

        Numerical study was conducted to clarify effects of added H₂O for the downstream interaction between H₂-air and CO-air premixed flames in counterflow configuration. The reaction mechanism adopted was Davis model which had been known to be well in agreement with reliable experimental data. The results showed that both lean and rich flammable limits were reduced in increase of strain rate. The most discernible difference between the two with and without having H₂O and/or H₂ addition into H₂-air and CO-air premixtures was two flammable islands for the former and one island for the latter at high strain flame conditions. Even a small amount of H₂, in which H₂-air premixed flame cannot be sustained by itself, participates in CO oxidation, thereby altering the CO-oxidation reaction path from the main reaction route CO + O₂ → CO₂ + O with a very long chemical time in CO-air flame to the OH-related reaction routes including CO + OH → CO₂ + H with very short chemical times. This intrinsic nature alters flame stability maps appreciably. The results also showed that chemical effects of added H₂O help lean flames at relatively low strain rate be sustained, and suppress the flame stabilization at high strain rates.

      • Properties of inverse nonpremixed pure O<sub>2</sub>/CH<sub>4</sub> coflow flames in a model combustor

        <P><B>Abstract</B></P> <P>In order to evaluate the potential of oxy-combustion of inverse nonpremixed coflow flames using a clean fuel to improve the combustion and emission characteristics compared with the normal coflow flames using air, the fundamental properties of inverse nonpremixed pure oxygen (O<SUB>2</SUB>)/methane (CH<SUB>4</SUB>) coflow flames in a model combustor are experimentally investigated. The combustion stability (extinction) limits, structure and nitrogen oxide (NO<SUB>x</SUB>) emissions of the inverse coflow flames in the quartz-windowed combustion chamber with a single shear coaxial injector and a fully opened exhaust nozzle are measured using OH<SUP>∗</SUP> chemiluminescence, a schlieren imaging system and a gas analyzer. Results show four distinct stability regimes and limits: the attached flame regime, the near-blowout flame regime, blowout limits and blowoff limits. The direct flame and OH<SUP>∗</SUP> chemiluminescence images confirm the cooling effects of chamber walls that cause no steady liftoff flame and only the near-blowout flame. The extinction limits of the inverse CH<SUB>4</SUB>/O<SUB>2</SUB> coflow flames are extended compared with the normal CH<SUB>4</SUB>/air coflow flames and reasonable levels of NO<SUB>x</SUB> emissions are observed, which supports that oxy-combustion of the inverse nonpremixed coflow flames using the clean fuel is acceptable for practical application, providing a useful database for modeling the flames in the confined chamber.</P> <P><B>Highlights</B></P> <P> <UL> <LI> Extended stability limits of inverse nonpremixed O<SUB>2</SUB>/CH<SUB>4</SUB> coflow flames are found. </LI> <LI> Stable, attached flames and oscillating, near-blowout flames are observed. </LI> <LI> Direct flame and OH<SUP>∗</SUP> chemiluminescence images indicate no steady liftoff flame. </LI> <LI> Reasonable levels of NO<SUB>x</SUB> emissions are observed. </LI> <LI> Inverse nonpremixed O<SUB>2</SUB>/CH<SUB>4</SUB> coflow flames are acceptable for practical applications. </LI> </UL> </P>

        Physical properties of waterborne soft feel coatings for instrument panel were investigated. Soft feel coatings give warm and velvet touch for cold and hard plastic materials. Waterborne soft feel coating is composed with two parts. Part A contains polyester polyurethane dispersion (PE-PUD), OH-functional water dispersible polyurethane resin (PC-PUD) and OH-functional water dispersible alkyd resin (OH-PA). Part B contains hydrophilic hexamethylene diisocyanate trimer (HHDI). Soft feeling of coated panel was related with the amounts of PC-PUD and OH-PA. The physical properties of coated panel could be controlled by the NCO/OH ratio from Part A and Part B. Soft feeling was enhanced with relevant to PE-PUD content but the content of PE-PUD was limited because of weakening of coated film strength. For excellent touch and good property, the optimum composition of soft feel coat was PC-PUD(30%) and PE-PUD(20%). The results from all reliability tests satisfied soft feeling, scratch, chemical resistance and fogging.

        맨드라미(Celosia cristata L.) 꽃 메탄올 추출물로부터 용매분획된 분획물의 항산화활성

        맨드라미꽃의 식품학적 이용가능성을 확인해 보고자 항산화성분 및 항산화활성에 대해 검토하였다. 맨드라미꽃의 항산화성분과 활성은 메탄올 추출물과 순차적 용매분획물에 대해 측정하였으며, 메탄올 추출물과 hexane, chloroform, ethyl acetate, butanol 및 물 분획물의 추출수율은 각각 23.33, 10.27, 20.00, 13.63, 17.55 및 38.54%였다. 맨드라미 꽃 메탄올 추출물의 총 polyphenol, flavonoid 및 tannin 함량은 각각 6.80 ㎎ GAE/g ME, 2.34 ㎎ CE/g ME 및 6.23 ㎎ TAE/g ME였다. 순차적 용매분획물 중 butanol 분획에서 각각 14.92 ㎎ GAE/g SF, 5.44 ㎎ CE/g SF 및 13.38 ㎎ TAE/g SF로 함량이 높았다. 총 proanthocyanidin 함량은 44.72 ㎍ CE/g ME였고 순차적 용매분획물은 각각 42.47, 44.43, 50.03, 49.12 및 41.80 ㎍ CE/g ER로 용매간 유의적인 차이를 보이지 않았다. 맨드라미꽃의 메탄올 추출물의 DPPH 및 ABTS radical 소거활성은 각각 5.24 및 10.70 ㎎ TE/g ME였고 butanol 분획에서 각각 12.53 및 21.09 ㎎ TE/g SF로 활성이 높았다. 메탄올 추출물의 SOD 유사활성은 7.96 unit/mL로 나타났고 hexane, chloroform, ethyl acetate, butanol 및 물 분획물은 각각 4.56, 6.15, 8.07, 12.36 및 5.21 unit/mL로 butanol 분획의 활성이 높았다. 맨드라미꽃 추출물의 항산화성분과 항산화활성 간에 높은 정의 상관관계를 보였고 맨드라미꽃 추출물이 체내 및 식품에서 유익한 도움을 줄 수 있을 것으로 생각된다. The purpose of this study was to evaluate the antioxidant contents and activities of solvent fractions from methanolic extracts of cockscome flowers. The yield of methanolic extracts from cockscome flowers was 23.33%, whereas those of its solvent fractions (hexane, chloroform, ethyl acetate, butanol, and water) were 10.27, 20.00, 13.63, 17.55, and 38.54%, respectively. Total polyphenolic, flavonoid, tannin, and proanthocyanidin contents of methanolic extracts (ME) were 6.80 ㎎ gallic acid equivalent (GAE)/g ME, 2.34 ㎎ catechin equivalent (CE)/g ME, 6.23 ㎎ tannic acid equivalent (TAE)/g ME, and 44.72 ㎍ CE/g ME, respectively. The highest total polyphenolic, flavonoid, and tannin contents of solvent fractions were 14.92 ㎎ GAE/g solvent fraction (SF), 5.44 ㎎ CE/g SF, and 13.38 ㎎ TAE/g SF in the butanol fraction, respectively. The total proanthocyanidin contents were 42.47, 44.43, 50.03, 49.12, and 41.80 ㎍ CE/g SF, respectively. The DPPH and ABTS radical scavenging activities from cockscome flowers were 5.24 and 10.70 ㎎ Trolox equivalent (TE)/g ME, respectively. The highest DPPH and ABTS radical scavenging activities of the solvent fractions were 12.53 and 21.09 ㎎ TE/g SF in the butanol fraction, respectively. SOD-like activities of methanolic extracts from cockscome flowers were 7.96 units/mL, whereas those of its solvent fractions were 4.56, 6.15, 8.07, 12.36, and 5.21 units/mL, respectively. The results of this study show that notable antioxidant activities in cockscome flowers have significant health benefits.

        우리나라 경관관련 법ㆍ제도 및 계획 속에 나타난 경관유형과 제어요소에 관한 연구

        At present there happen to be controlled the landscape of urban area by the law which aren't organized. The master plans and regulations related to the landscape are not reflected the condition and characteristics in local area. Especially, the landscape type in them has been depending on the uniformed arrangement and selection based on the theory. The landscape-management which is not connected with landscape-resources, characteristics, devices and control-factors has been established in local government. With these consideration in mind, we focused on the classification of the landscape types and control factors. The purpose this study is to find out the characteristics of landscape types and control factors in the master plan and regulation related to landscape-management To accomplish this purpose, we analyse the 50 laws related to the landscape and the landscape master plans established by local government in 3 cities. As a result, we were able to classify the characteristic of control factors and types in the landscape management, and find out the relationships of control factors in the landscape management.

        Estrogen이 가토의 이개변형에 미치는 영향

        Congenital auricular deformities such as lop ear, cup ear, prominent ear, and Stahl's ear can be corrected nonsurgically in the early neonatal period(first week after birth) obtaining satisfactory results. Auricular cartilage consists of chondrocytes and intercellular materials that are mainly assembled from collagen, elastin, and a proteoglycan aggergate. Cartilageelasticity is dependent upon the concentration of the proteoglycan aggregate. Hyaluronic acid, which is a constituent of proteoglycan aggregate and is increased by estrogens, has an important play on disconnecting the proteoglycan aggregate. So the increased estrogen results in the lack of elasticity. The circulating levels of free estradiol are higher during the first 72 hours after birth and decreases thereafter, so the ear is soft and easily malleable in this early neonatal period. In this study, we have applied aluminium splint(90 degree-angulated, 180 degree-angulated, and rolled) on rabbit ear. All of the rabbit was divided into 3 groups containing 3 types of deformities. In group 1, estrogen was applied to the deformed ear with regional injection to the perichondrium of auricular cartilage. In group 2. estrogen was applied topically with ointment. In group 3, as control group, saline was injected to the perichondrium. Four weeks later, in group 2, the shape of the deformed rabbit ear was maintained, and did not return to its original shape even after splint removal. From these results, we concluded that estrogen ointment could be tried as adjunctive therapeutic modalities to the nonsurgical treatment of the congenital auricular deformities.

      • 용매의 선택에 따른 전도성 Polyaniline의 자기적 성질변화

        Polyaniline(emeraldine base:EB)를 pH에 따라 HCI로 1차 doping을 한후ESR을 사용하여 자기적 성질을 조사했다.또한 emeraldine base를 camphorsulfonic acid(HCSA), dodecylbenzene sulfonic acid(HDBSA)등의 산으로 1차 doping 시키고 이것을 m-cresol, acetic acid, 및 formic acid에 녹여 2차 doping을 한 후 SQUID 를 이용하여 자기적 성질을 측정하였다. Doping에 사용된 HCI용액의pH가 감소함에 따라 ESR 신호의 강도가 증가하였으며, 이로부터 doping에 따라 상자성을 나타나게 하는 화학종이 가타다는 것을아타내고 있다.m-cresol내에서 HCSA 및 HDBSA로 각각 doping된 EB-CSA/m-cresol 과 EB-DBSA/m-cresol 시료 무두 상자성을 나타내었고, 온도가 증가함에 따라 자하율값이 감소하는 경향을 나타내었다.χ?값은 2.18x10?과 7.87x10?emu/mol2-rings unit 보이며 두 스핀에 대한 Fermi 에너지 level(E?)에서의 상태밀도를 나타내는 N(E?)는 0.67과 0.24 상태(eV/2-rings unit?)로 나타났다.Camphorsulfonic ascid(HCSA)로 doping 된 EB를 m-cresol, acetic acid 및 chloroform 등 다른 용매에서 처리시 관찰된 자화율의 변화를 온도에 의존하지 않는 χ?값과 온도에 의존하는 χ? 값으로 구분하여 curie spin의 온도의존성을 규명하였다. Dependency of magnetic properties of polyaniline(emeraldine base:EB)on the pH of HCI used in doping was inverstigated by electron spin resonance spectroscopy. Emeraldine base doped with functionalized acid (primary dopant) such as camphorsulfonic acid (HCSA), dodecylbenzene sulfonic acid(HDBSA) was processed in various solvents (m-cresol, acetic acid, formic acid etc.)into homogeneous solution and free standing film and its magnetic properties were measured by SQUID. The intensity of ESR signal was increased with decrese in pH of HCL solution and paramagnetic behavior of doped polyaniline due to the formation of polaron upon doping could be confoirmed from these results. The same g value of 2.004±0.001 measured for all of the samples means that the chemical species which show paramagnetism are sasme. Polyanilines doped with HCSA and HDBSA in m-cresol showed paramagnetism and decrease in susceptibility with increase in temperature. χ? value was appered 2.18x10? and 7.87x10? emu/mol2-rings unit and N(E?) which is density of states at Fermi energy level for two spins was 0.67 and 0.24 state eV? 2rings unit? respectively. The changes in susceptibility of polyanilines doped with HCSA in m-cresol, acetic acid, formic acid etc. were divided into temperature independent χ? term and temperature dependent χ? term and temperature dependency of curie spin concentration was examined.

        급성 백혈병 환자에서 수두양 피부병변을 보인 파종성 Fusarium 감염 1예와 국내 파종성 Fusarium 감염증에 대한 고찰

        최근 면역저하환자의 증가와 함에 국내에서도 점차 침습성, 파종성 Fusarium 감염증 보고가 증가하고 있다. Fusarium 감염은 아스페르길루스 감염과 유사한 임상양상을 보이지만 특징적인 피부병변을 동반하고 혈액배양에서 균이 분리되는 경우가 더 많다. 저자들은 급성 림프구성 백혈병으로 진단받고 치료중인 30세 남자 환자에서 중증의 호중구 감소 상태에서 비특이적인 피부병변을 동반한 파종성 Fusarium 혈류감염을 경험하였기에 국내 증례 고찰과 함께 보고하는 바이다. 환자의 초기 피부병변은 구진에서 시작하여 주로 소포성 병변과 일부 통증을 동반한 결절 등 여러 형태로 나타났고, Tzank 도말검사 양성으로 비정형 수두로 오인되었다. 이후 피부병변은 농포로 변하였고, 혈액배양 및 피부 조직검사에서 파종성 Fusarium 감염으로 진단받았다. 환자는 liposomal amphotericin B, voriconazole 병합요법과 G-CSF 투여, 과립구 수혈을 받았으나, 호중구 감소증에서 회복하지 못하고 급성 호흡곤란증후군과 다장기 기능부전으로 사망하였다. 본 증례는 파종성 Fusarium 감염의 경우에도 수두양 병변으로 비특이적인 양상으로 나타날 수 있으므로, 감별진단을 위해 적극적으로 혈액배양과 피부조직검사를 시행해야 함을 보여준다. Recently, we experienced a case of disseminated fusarial blood stream infection with varicelloid skin eruptions, who had suffered from persistent neutropenic fever after salvage chemotherapy for relapsed acute lymphocytic leukemia (ALL). Neutropenia continued in spite of G-CSF and granulocyte transfusion, and he failed to respond to conventional amphotericin B initially, and then liposomal amphotericin B and voriconazole combination therapy. Disseminated fusariosis can be diagnosed by blood cultures in 50% of patients and present skin lesions in more than 80% of patients. So, typical skin lesions are important clue to diagnose of the disseminated fusariosis. However, many skin lesions in immunocompromised hosts are due to various infectious and non-infectious causes. So, this case shows that it is important to obtain biopsy specimens of skin lesions for histopathologic examination, culture and staining. Here, we present our case with the review of the literatures reported in our country, so far.
