        This study was designed to exam the aged's needs for spiritual nursing care. The purpose was to serve as a basis for the development of spiritual nursing practice. The major findings are as follows : 1. The degree of needs for spiritual nursing care as area was that needs of love and relationship mean 22.0, needs of meaning and object mean 28.2, needs of forgiving mean 13.5. Total needs for spiritual nursing care mean 63.7, which was on the upper middle level. The needs of meaning and object was rated highest. 2. Among the general characteristics of the subjects, needs of love and relatiohship wasn't significanlty different. 3. Among the general characteristics of the subjects, needs of meaning and object was significantly different according to two factors : age(F=7.260, p=0.001), religion(F=5.275, p=0.001). Higher needs of meaning and object was possessed by the older than the younger, by the one who have religion than the other. 4. Among the general characteristics of the subjects, four factors made a significantly difference to needs of forgiving : sex(t=-2.851, p=0.006), age(F=8.201, p=0.001), religion(F=6.928, p=0.000), disease(t=2.327, p=0.024). Higher needs of forgiving was possessed by man than woman, by the older than the younger, by the one who have religion than the other, by the one who have disease than the other.

      • Constructing and Validating an Emotional Presence Scale to Measure Online Learners' Engagement

        Emotional presence has recently been noted to be an indicator of students' engagement during e-Learning process. Research on emotional presence, however, is still in an early stage and no scale has yet been developed to measure the level of emotional presence. Based on the literature review regarding emotion, emotional intelligence and emotional presence, three conceptual constructs ? feeling, expressing, and managing emotion - were theoretically identified. Sixteen self-report items with Likert type scale were initially developed to measure the three constructs. The initial scale was reconstructed and refined after the reliability and validity testing against 723 undergraduate students in two consecutive studies, 418 in the preliminary and 305 in the re-validation study. This paper reports the refined scale to measure emotional presence based on the results from two independent studies.

        향토음식 인지도에 관한 실증적 연구 : 경남 하동군 지역을 중심으로 with respect to Hadong-Gun Area, Kyungsangnam-Do

        Rather than focusing on the general recognition of the area and extensive preference about its native cuisine, this study carried out more practical examination on the recognition of the native cuisine by presenting the more detailed introduction of the native cuisine in Hadong area. The findings of this study can be used as basic materials to devise measures for the instillation and advertisement of Hadong area's image, the development and maintenance of its native cuisine benefiting the activation of the local economy, and the reestablishment of Hadong area's native cuisine culture. First, the overall recognition of Hadong area's native cuisine was low and more consumption needs to be boosted by merchandising its foods through the strengthening of recognition. Second, correlation between this area's native cuisine was revealed and tables need to be set and menus need to be organized with this correlation in mind. Basic materials for suggestion sale were garnered. Third, given that most outside tourists visit Hadong by word mouth of all the information sources available, it is highly likely that positive word of mouth through satisfaction with native cuisine will raise the overall recognition of the area. Fourth, precise subdivision market and target market need to be specified. Though the factors like economic costs and the time required cannot be overlooked in strengthening recognition, consistent advertisement to the middle-aged people who are over 40 and live in Kyungsang-Do area will contribute to the fast rise in the recognition of Hadong area's native cuisine, leading to the possibility of economic development in the process.

        호텔 고객의 뷔페 메뉴품질 만족도에 관한 연구

        This study aims at providing useful information to establish subdivided marketing direction by deriving factors of significant extent and practicable extent of buffet users toward menu quality among super deluxe hotels in Gyeongju, and furthermore aims at presenting implications for efficient management result and sales increase of buffet in the future. The result of positive analysis is as follows. Firstly, in result of analyzing difference between importance and performance of hotel buffet in Gyungju area, importance is much higher than performance. Secondly, respondents consider that the. most important menu of hotel buffet is main dish such as hot food and instant food rather than menu such as beverage, soup and salad. When it comes to attribute of menu quality, it appeared that respondents put highly significant extent on sanitariness of food, freshness of food, flavor of food, and seasonality and variety of menu. Thirdly, oriental instant food is included in the second quadrant of IPA regarding buffet menu which should be intensively managed. And three attributes such as temperature of food, time of changing food, and creativity of menu are included in the second quadrant of IPA graph by attribute of hotel buffet's menu quality. Lastly, in IPA graph by hotel, the following menus of each hotel need to be intensively managed: Oriental instant food of A hotel, Western cold food of B hotel, Oriental instant food, Western instant food, and Oriental dessert of C hotel, and Western porridge·soup, Oriental instant food, and Western instant food of E hotel. The aforementioned menus should be improved.

      • 장구균의 동정에 대한 PCR 방법의 유용성

        Background : Enterococci are important cause of nosocomial infections. Recently, vancomycin-resistant enterococci (VRE) has been increasingly reported as significant nosocomial pathogens. Therefore, accurate identification of enterococcal species is a prerequisite step for the appropriate antibiotic treatment and epidemiologic surveillance. We wanted to know the usefulness of PCR method compared with Vitek automatic identification system. Methods : Totally 105 isolates were identified on the species level by Vitek (GPI card and software version R06.1), methyl-α -D-glucopyranoside test, and PCR methods. Results : Among 105 enterococcal isolates, 59 were identified as E. faecium, 11 E. faecalis, 6 E. gallinarum by Vitek. But 29 isolates (28%) were unidentified. Subsequently all of these isolates were analyzed by PCR, the results of which were as follows : 17 E. faecium, 5 E. casseliflavus, 7 E. gallinarum. Two isolates identified as E. gallinarum by Vitek were reidentified as E. casseliflavus by PCR and other methods far phenotypic characterization. Conclusoin : PCR method was more accurate and sensitive than Vitek for the identification of enterococci species. (Korean J Infect Dis 33:123∼127, 2001)

      • 영상처리를 이용한 기어결함 검출

        Gears are made of two or more wheels with teeth around their edges that fit into the teeth of another wheel. They have been designed to transfer power or movement by means of shafts. The faults of a gear in its shape and teeth causes the vibration and noise of the machine having gears. A qualitied gear can guarantee the quality and life of the machine. However, it is vary difficult to inspect the qulity of gear due to its complexity in its shape and teeth. In this research, an automatic inspection system for gear fault detection is tried to develop using a machine vision. A CCD camera and a frame grabber are used for the image processing of the gear images and edge comparison methods are implemented to examine the gear fault. Despite the roughness, the results shows the possibility and convenience for gear fault detection using image processing technique.

      • 입원 환자 영양검색 전산 프로그램 개발

        Background : About 30% of patients in the hospital are under nourishment. A large portion of people are undernourished when they are admitted to the hospital and in the majority of these, undernutrition develops further while in hospital. Patient-Generated subjective global assessment(PG-SGA), a method of nutritional assessment based on clinical judgment, has been widely used to assess the nutritional status of adults for both clinical and research purposes. Modified PG-SGA can be used as a nutrition screening tool, and a comprehensive nutrition assessment is desirable for those who are malnourished. The purpose of this study is to develop a simple, reliable and valid nutrition screening program(NSP). Methods : We applied the nutrition screening program(NSP) to adult inpatients who are at risk of malnutrition using the Modified Patient-Generated subjective global assessment(PG-SGA) and objective assessment(electrical medical record data). Results : Therefore simple and beneficial NSP is developed for patients with severe malnutrition. Using NSP. nutritional information of the severe malnutrition patient should be shared with the physicians and they should be taken care of by clinical dietitians to improve their nutritional status. Conclusion : The Modified PG-SGA and nutrition screening tool are simple, reliable and valid nutrition screening program(NSP).

      • 비만을 동반한 위암 환자에서 두 병을 같이 수술 치료한 경험(증례)

        Obesity is growing problem in Korea. We had a case of bariatric surgery during gastric cancer operation. Patient was 29 year old Korean lady with early gastric cancer located in the lesser curvature side of the middle 1/3 of the stomach. Her body weight was 89 kg, height 163 cm, and thus body mass index was 33.5 kg/m2. Preoperative blood pressure was 130/90 mmHg, hemoglobin 12.9 g/dL, total lymphocyte count 3,280/mL, serum albumin 4.3 g/dL, CEA 1.1 ng/mL, CA 19-9 9.1 ng/mL, and alpha fetoprotein 2 ng/mL. Another associated disease was right thyroid follicular neoplasm. The chest X-ray was normal. After IM injection of 2,500 units of heparin 30 minutes before the induction of general anesthesia, she received curative subtotal gastrectomy and Roux en Y gastrojejunostomy when a malabsorption loop of 120 cm jejunum was incorporated between the Treitz ligament and the end to side jejuno-jejunostmy site at May 29th 2006. Her postoperative course was uneventful except a minor wound seroma and the elevations of serum amylase(up to 4 folds) and lipase(up to 2 folds). She lost her body weight 9 kg in 5th, 21 kg in 7th, and 27 kg in 10th postoperative months to became 61.5 kg. On follow up exams in July 2008, she gained 4 kg to overcome her weakness and fatigue. From the above result, the incorporation of a malabsorption loop during reconstruction phase of gastric cancer operation was a good option for obese gastric cancer patients especially in cases of early gastric cancer.

        방한 일본 관광객의 한국전통음식 메뉴품질 만족도에 관한 연구

        This study was performed by questionnaire to investigate satisfaction for the menu quality of Korean traditional food of Japanese tourists. The subjects of this study consisted of 280 Japanese tourists using the Gyeongju and Busan hotel. The results were summarized as follows: 63.9% of the subjects responded that frequency of visiting was 1-2 times a year and 42.1% responded that motivation of visiting was for tour and understanding of korea. Companion with friend scored high as 40.4%, and intention of revisiting was high on 'normal'. On overall satisfaction on korean traditional foods, 'satisfy' scored high as 43.2%. 61.1% of the subjects responded that the taste was the most important factor of food. On frequency of eating, 'over 8 times' scored high as 27.9%, and on motivation of eating, 'with visiting Korea' scored high as 48.2%. On satisfaction for the menu quality of korean traditional food, the highest item was 'taste(3.82 point)' and 'nutrition(3.82 point)', and but 'Japanese mark on menu(2.47 point)', 'Japanese mark on ingredient(2.61 point)' scored low. Overall satisfaction for korean traditional food had an effect on intention of revisiting, and therefore, improving the quality of the traditional food and the strategy for the classification of desires are eamestly requested.

        저작근 공간에서 재발된 치성각화낭

        The odontogenic keratocyst (OKC) is a developmental odontogenic cyst typically occurring in the jaws. Since the first description of OKC was published in 1956, the lesion has been of particular interest because of its specific histopathologic features, high recurrence rate, and aggressive behavior. Recurrences most commonly arise within bone at the site of the original cyst. However, as lining cells may find their way into surrounding tissues either from implantation during surgery or from cortical perforation recurrences may arise at a distance from the original cyst. Here, we report a rare case of recurrent OKC which was first developed in mandible and recurred within the masticatory space.
