Objective: To evaluate the accuracy and safety of C1-C2 transarticular screw insertion, we retrospectively review surgical records and postoperative radiological findings. Methods: From January 2001 to October 2003, the C1-C2 transarticular screw fixation and posterior wiring with iliac bone grafts was performed in 16 patients. 6 patients had rheumatoid arthritis which caused cervical instability, 3 patients had os odontoideum, 3 patients had type 2 odontoid process fracture, 3 patients had traumatic transverse ligament injury and 1 patients who had been managed with C1-C2 wire fixation had psoriatic arthritis. Results: Osseous fusion was documented in 15 patients(93.8%). Only one patient was recorded screw loosening because of postoperative infection. One patient had only one screw placed because of abnormal anatomical structure, one patients was breakage of a Kirschner wire, and one screw was medial location to lateral mass of C1, but clinical results was excellent and radiological instability was not noted. Conclusion: The author's experience demonstrates that C1-C2 transarticular screw fixation with wired bone graft is a safe procedure with higher fusion rate but precaution is needed to avoid the neural damage, vertebral artery injury, and hardware failure.

In Friction Stir Lap Welding(FSLW), the movement of material within the weld was more important than the microstructure, due to the interface present between the sheets. Thus, The soundness of free defect, Effective Sheet Thickness(EST) and width of joint were most important factor of mechanical properties. Specimens by lap joint types that were 'A-type' and 'R-type' were made in this study. A-type tensile specimen was loaded at advancing side and R-type tensile specimen was loaded at retreating side. Macro-, micro-structural observation and mechanical properties of FSLW A5052-H112 alloy ware investigated under varying rotating and welding speed. The results were as follows: Material hook formed decreasing after sharply increasing was appeared at the end interface of joint area in advanced side, and material hook formed decreasing after smoothly increasing was observed at that in retreated side. Tensile load had no relation with defects. As rotating speed was higher, tensile strength was increasing and EST was decreasing regardless of joint types. joint efficiency was over 70%. In a result of fractography, fracture in A-type was partially occurred by dimple in SZ, and fracture in R-type was generally occurred by dimple in HAZ.

The power system and control system constantly reveals surge voltage such as switching surge of lighting devices and power conversion devices, operating and stops surge of rotating devices, charge & discharge surge, opening & closing surge of circuit breakers and the like. Such a surge voltages can cause damage or malfunction of the element such as CPU, Memory, semiconductor etc. In the industry, in order to protect the system from the surge voltage, a surge protector with low discharge starting voltage, fast response time, and low capacitance is required, and technical development research for that is ongoing. In this paper, in order to solve the problem of the existing GDT discharge tube not discharging from the transient voltage which is higher than the commercial voltage and lower than the discharge voltage of the discharge element, we have developed a discharge element having the control electrode & control circuit. The discharge element having the control electrode and the control circuit can control the discharge voltage according to the needs of the consumer and can satisfy the requirement of the discharge element and the technology of the surge protector downsizing technology and the surge protection technology. It is judged to be effective for development.
소형선박용 5000계/6000계 알루미늄합금제의 마찰교반접합 특성 연구

There are so many difficulties of melt bonding mainly applied for hull construction of a aluminum alloy small boat. For resolving this problem, Friction stir welding(FSW) in non-melting solid state welding Process generally is applied in the transport industry. This paper is studied the joining strength characteristics and macrostructure according to dissimilar aluminium 5000/6000 alloy joining for a small boat applied for this FSW technology. It is reported that difference of joining strength in accordance with the direction of rotation in case of friction stir welding between dissimilar metals(Al/Cu, Al/Fe) is also highly large. In this study, Test is carried out by making the specimen according to the direction of rotation of dissimilar aluminium alloy joining.

The Friction Stir Welding (FSW) has mainly been used for making butt joints in Al alloys. Development of FSW would expand the number of applications. The FSW is a relatively solid-state joining process. This study possibility of a welding between C1020 and Al6063 by means of FSW has fundamentally clarified. The primary process parameters, such as a rotating speed, rotating direction of tool and off-set of pin periphery from materials interface were optimize, respectively.

프루브 길이에 따른 A5052 겹치기 마찰교반접합 특성

The Friction Stir Welding (FSW) has mainly been used for making butt joints in Al alloys. The development of Friction Stir Lap Welding (FSLW) would expand the number of applications. In this study, for effective application on thin aluminum alloy lap joint, non-heat treatment A5052 alloys were joined by FSLW with the length of probe 2.3 ㎜ and 3.0 ㎜. Investigating the characteristics of joint area showed the results were as below ; When the length of probe was 2.3 ㎜, good joint area was formed at all welding condition except for 600 rpm-700 ㎜/min. In the case of 3.0 ㎜ probe length, there was formed good joint area without defects at 1500 rpm-100 ㎜/min. The width of joint area, position and size of defects were very important factors for FSLW, due to heat input and stirring intensity.
