인천지역 유통 생약 중 Ochratoxin A 오염실태 조사

The aim of this study was to screen the contamination by ochratoxin A of mycotoxins in various medicinal herbs. We conducted a survey of ochratoxin A in medicinal herb on the retail market in Incheon in 2016. 116 medicinal herb samples were evaluated for the ochratoxin A contamination. They were analyzed for ochratoxin A using immunoaffinity column and high-performance liquid chromatography(HPLC)-fluorescence detection and the positive samples were confirmed using HPLC-tandem mass spectrometry. Ochratoxin A was detected in 4 medicinal herb samples; the concentrations of ochratoxin A were containing between 20.11 and 372.90 mg/kg. This study shows that in general, this kind of commodity may be contaminated by mycotoxins. Also this contamination is not limited to only aflatoxin of mycotoxins.

This study was performed for both evaluating the safety of other processed products and providing basic information for making the general standard for contaminants in the category of other processed products. We analyzed the contents of three heavy metals, thirty six anti-impotence drugs and their analogues, three anti-obesity drugs and their analogues, twenty eight steroid drugs and their analogues, collecting in Incheon Metropolitan City. Any illegal compound was not detected in those products. However the contents of lead, cadmium and mercury of those products were at the range of 0.001-13.390 mg/kg, 0.03-1.231 mg/kg and 0.001-0.650 mg/kg respectively. Because there are no standards of heavy metals against other processed products, we compared the analytical results with relevant standards of both S. Korea and foreign countries. As a result, two products exceeded the relevant standards of lead, and other two products exceeded the relevant standards of mercury. The relative hazards compared to PTWI of FAO/WHO (Codex), Seafoods-pajeonmix, Perilla seed powder exceeded PTWI standards 0.214. The compulsory standards of each food product are determined by the category of the products. Because there is no standard of heavy metals in thecategory of other processed products in S. Korea, any food products registered as other processed product by manufacturer are free with those standards. Abusing similar problems on the categorization of food products could cause consumers’ health problem. To prevent these problems, detail regulations on the categorization of food products have to be introduced.

A healthy 34-year-old man was admitted to the intensive care unit through the emergency room with a drowsy mentality and severe chilling. Following a diagnosis of septic shock of unknown origin, the patient was treated with broad spectrum antibiotics and massive hydration. After recovery of consciousness, he complained of a severe toothache that originated from the right lower teeth. Under dental consultation, he was diagnosed as having an acute periapical abscess of the right mandibular first molar. The patient underwent extraction and cyst enucleation. Gram negative bacilli isolated from blood culture on day 5 after admission were identified as Prevotella species. After receiving antibiotic treatment and undergoing dental procedures, the patient made a full recovery. We report on a case of septic shock due to infection by Prevotella species in association with an acute periapical abscess.

The purpose of this study is to examine changes in the residues of procymidone and diazinon inChwinamul, pepper leaves, and young radish according to drying method. When the three vegetables were dried atroom with air stream, the residues of procymidone and diazinon increased, but after being adjusted to reflect thedecrease in water content of the vegetables, the residues declined by 10 to 83 percent. When they were dried in a oven,content, the residues decreased by 4 to 71 percent. According to the results, the residues of the pesticides mostlydecreased after being adjusted to reflect the drop in the water content of the dried vegetables. Therefore, when judgingdried agricultural products not only the decreased water content of dried vegetables but also other factors that affectpesticide residues during the drying process should be considered. This raises the need for additional research on suchfactors.
