The measurement and visualization of the roundness of the cranial circumference has not been attempted by the simple measurement device. That's why there has been a tendency that the morphologic cranial deformity can be diagnosed with accuracy only by the experienced physician. The accurate understanding of the roundness of the cranial circumference, however, is essential for the diagnosis and the decision of the treatment principle in cranofacial morphological deformity. Current methods, such as simple physical examination and/or the photography, are not enough to accurately express the roundness of the cranial circumference. In order to develop the new method of measurement, authors selected 16 points from the axial cutting plane of the cranium. These points can be selected under the same principle even though the axial plane changes. After measuring the distance of 16 points, the values are put into computer program.In conclusion, authors can retrieve the x, y coordinates of the 16 points and can show the intuitive roundness of the circumference of the selected axial plane of the cranium. This measurement tool will be helpful not only for the identification of the severity of the morphologic cranial deformity, but for the classification and the assessment of the result of the surgery.
Integrated Rehabilitation for Children with Cerebral palsy: A Prospective Observational Study

Objectives: This study aimed to analyse: 1) the clinical effectiveness and safety of traditional Korean Medicine (TKM) and frequency of TKM therapies used and their relationship with conventional treatments. Methods: This prospective observational study enrolled children with cerebral palsy (CP) aged 6-78 months (n=126). The children who used herbal medication for >30 days or acupuncture treatment >12 sessions within 6 months were defined as the integrated rehabilitation (IR) group; the remaining participants were included in the conventional rehabilitation (CR) group. Results: Changes in the Gross Motor Function Measure-66 (GMFM-66) were greater in the IR group (6.4±6.1) than in the CR group (4.6±5.8). The reduction in the number of other health problems was greater in the IR group than in the CR group. The GMFM-66 improvement was greatest in gross motor function classification system level 1. There was no between-group difference in the frequency of rehabilitation therapy (10.9±6.6 and 12.0±9.9 in the IR and CR groups, respectively). Conclusion: TKM may offer additional benefits in terms of the GMFM-66 score and other health problems. However, there is a need for further randomized controlled trials involving a restricted CP type and a controlled treatment type and intensity to confirm these findings.

Objective This study was undertaken to determine the effect of Whallak-tang on expression of CD/cytokine Genes. Methods The expression of CD/Cytokine Genes were examined by cDNA microarray using the human mast cell line(HMC-1). Results The expression of ATP5F1, FLJ20671, unknown, KIAA0342, OAS2, unknown genes were increased in $200{\sim}300%$ range. The expression of unknown, MDS006, IFITM1, MRPL3, ZNF207, FTH1, FBP1, NRGN, NR1H2, KIAA0747 genes were decreased in $0{\sim}33%$ range. Conclusion These results would provide important basic data on the possibility of the clinical treatment of Whallak-tang in musculoskeletal disease.
국산화 EEG 및 EP Mapping System(Neuronics)의 임상적 타당성 연구

The clinical validity of a korean EEG and EP mapping system(Neuronics) was evaluated with schizophrenic patients(n=20), normal controls(n=19), and 10 patients with central nervous system disease(8 patients with cerebrovascular accident, 1 patient with brain mass, and 1 patient with periodic paralysis). In the normal control group, the pattern of resting computerized EEG with eyes closed showed normal parieto-occipital dominance of alpha wave. Compared with normal controls, schizophrenic patients had more delta activity in the frontal region, and less alpha activity especially in the parieto-occipital region. In most cases patients with cortical organic lesions(n=5) revealed increased delta and theta activity and decreased alpha activity on the lesion areas. These findings were compatible with their MRI and clinical findings. However in the cases of subcortical lesions(n=5) EEG showed various findings which suggest diverse influences of subcortical abnormalities on cortical activities. The P300 of schizophrenic group was smaller and more delayed than those of normal controls. These results are generally compatible with the previous studies using other EEG and EP mapping systems consequenty and suggest that the this EEG and EP mapping system(Neuronics) has clinical validity.

현재 우리나라는 2.5명당 자동차 한 대를 보유할 정도로 자동차 보유율이 높다. 그러나 대다수의 운전자는 자동차의 구조 및 부속품에 대해 잘 알지 못하며 간단한 정비조차 하지 못한다. 또한 자가정비에 대한 관심증가와 정비비용을 절약하고자 차량정비를 스스로 하려는 운전자들은 점점 증가하고 있다. 따라서 운전자들이 기본적인 정비를 연습하기 위한 환경이 필요하지만 비용적, 공간적 제약으로 인해 쉽사리 정비를접할 수 없다. 이러한 상황을 대비하기 위해 가상으로 자동차를 정비해볼 수 있는 프로그램들이 존재하기는 하나 기존의 프로그램들은 현실감이 떨어져 자동차 정비를 제대로 익히기는 어렵다. 본 논문은 이러한 문제를 해결하기 위해 필수적이고 기본적인 정비를 연습할 수 있는 환경을 제공하는 시뮬레이터 프로그램 시나리오를 구상하고 시뮬레이터 전체 구조를 설계한 후 구현한다.
