In spite of the importance of nuclear power as one of major electric energies in Korea, the nuclear safety has become the most serious social issue in the operation of the nuclear power plant. In this paper, a virtual work simulation program was developed to predict exposure dose during radiation work in radwaste storage. The work simulation program was developed. using $Java ^{TM}$applet and VRML-virtual reality modeling language. A numerical algorithm to find the optimal work path which minimize exposure dose during the given work, was developed and exposure dose on the optimal work path was compared with that on the shortest path. Comparing with the shortest path for the given work, the predicted optimal path consumed longer work time by II% but reduced total exposure dose by 46%. The simulation result showed that the exposure dose depended on not only work time, but also the distance between the worker and the radiation source. The developed simulation program could be a useful tool for the planning of radioactive waste work to increase the radiation safety of workers.

We have analyzed the biomechanical characteristics of cervical spine after total disc replacement using finite element analysis. A finite element model of C2-C7 spinal motion segment was developed and validated by other experimental studies. Two types of artificial discs, semi-constraint and un-constraint, were inserted at C6-C7 segments. Inferior plane of C7 vertebra was fixed and 1Nm of moment were applied on superior plane of C2 vertebra with 50N of compressive load along follower load direction. Mobility of the cervical spine in which each artificial disc inserted was higher than that of intact one in all loading conditions. Also, high mobility at the surgical level after total disc replacement could lead higher facet joint force and ligaments axial stresses. The results of present study could be used to evaluate surgical option and validate the biomechanical characteristics of the implant in total disc replacement in cervical spine.

Objectives : This study aims to confirm the importance of behavior habit and exercise, especially leg exercise in obese. Methods : Out of 2247 people, we divided 1125 people in normal group(BMI<25) and 1122 people in obese group(BMI.25). We measured each arm, leg, abdomen muscle circumference and right and left water difference using BIA. We Investigated whether ratio of leg muscle circumference to arm and abdomen has differences by statistics between each groups. And analyzed correlation with BMI. We also investigated right and left water distribution difference of two group`s limbs and the correlation with BMI. Statistical analysis was performed by using SPSS program. Results : 1. In obese group, ratio of leg muscle circumference to arm and abdomen is significantly lower than normal group(P<0.001).2. Ratio of leg muscle circumference to arm and abdomen were negatively correlated with BMI(r=-0.461, r=-0.462, P<0.001). And partial correlation coefficient controlled for age and sex is -0.528, -0.632(P<0.001). 3. In the case of women, there was right and left water distribution difference as statistical in leg. In the case of Obese, the difference is serious. Conclusions : These results suggest that exercise and activity of lower limbs is more needed in the field of obesity treatment and prevention.

We propose a new technique for autonomous navigation and travelling of mobile robot based on ultrasonic sensors through the narrow labyrinth that leave only distance of a few centimeters on each side between the guides and the robot. In our current implementation the ultrasonic sensor system fires at a rate of 100 ms, that is, each of the 8 sensors fires once during each 100 ms interval. This is a very good firing rate, implemented here for optimal performance. This paper presents an extensively tested and verified solution to the problem of obstacle avoidance. Our solution is based on the optimal placement of ultrasonic sensors at strategic locations around the robot. Both the sensor location and the associated navigation algorithm are defined in such a way that only the accurate radial sonar data is used for accurate travelling.
인코넬 718합금 선재의 냉간 인발시 δ 상 저온 석출 현상 연구

Low temperature δ-precipitation phenomenon below 2-step aging (718℃, 8 hr + 621℃, 8 hr) temperature of cold drawn Inconel 718 alloy wire was investigated. The investigation was carried out on wires with a cold drawn ratio of 0, 20, 50 and 70% using OM, SEM, XRD, TEM, and DSC. In microstructures of 50 and 70% drawn wire, many precipitates were found along the grain boundaries and the twin boundaries in deformation band. From the results of the XRD and TEM analysis, the precipitates were identified as platelike δ-phase. From the results of the DSC analysis, it was also found that a temperature of δ-precipitation decreases with an increase of the cold drawn ratio. We concluded that cold drawing of inconel 718 wire promotes the δ-precipitation, and under the condition of a high drawing ratio, the δ-phase could be precipitated at a temperature below the aging temperature (718℃).
