Objective In order to study the effects of bee venom(BV) on the pain, edema, and acute inflammatory reactant of rheumatoid arthritis(RA) patients. Methods Patients with RA who met the ACR(American College of Rheumatology) 1987 revised criteria for the diagnosis of RA were treated with the BV therapy twice a week for 3 months. Tender Joint counts, swollen joint counts, Visual analog scale(VAS), morning stiffness, ESR. C-reactive protein(CRP) were analyzed before and after BV therapy. Results The results as follows. 1. Tender joint counts in patients after BV therapy were significantly lower than those before BV therapy(9.0±7.9 vs 15± 11.4, p=0.002). 2. Swollen joint counts of the patients after BV therapy were significantly lower than those before BV therapy(50±61 vs 15±23, p=0.001). 3. VAS in patients after BV therapy was significantly lower than those before BV therapy(608± 17.6 vs 380± 159, p=0.000). 4. Duration of morning stiffness in patients after BV therapy was significantly reduced compared with that before BV therapy(119.1± 112.6 min vs 59.0±89.7 min, p=0.009). 5. ESR and CRP were not significantly changed before and after BV therapy, suggesting BV itself could make inflammatory reaction as well as therapeutic effect. Conclusions BV therapy improved tender joint counts, swollen joint counts and duration of morning stiffness in this study, and further study is needed on long-term effect of BV therapy.

Objective: To evaluate the effects of bee venom acupuncture(BVA) on the rehabilitation and quality of life in rheumatoid arthritis(RA) patients Methods: Patients with RA were treated with the BVA therapy twice a week for 3 months. Tender joint counts, swollen joint counts, morning stiffness, Erythrocyte Sedimentation Rate(ESR), C-reactive protein(CRP), patient global assessment, physician global assessment, Korean health assessment questionnaire(KHAQ) were estimated and analyzed before and after BVA therapy. Results: Tender joint counts, swollen joint counts, morning stiffness showed significant decrease after BVA therapy. But, as acute inflammatory reactants, ESR showed no significant difference and CRP showed significant increase after BVA therapy. Patient global assessment physician global assessment, and KHAQ index showed significant improvement after BVA therapy. Conclusions: BVA therapy can improve rehabilitation and health-related quality of life RA patients as well as clinical symptom and signs. Further study is required in more population with large scale including acute inflammatory reaction of BVA therapy.

Cochlodinium polykrikoides red tides have caused great economic losses in the aquaculture industry in many countries. To investigate the roles of metazooplankton in red tide dynamics of C. polykrikoides in the South Sea of Korea, the abundance of metazooplankton was measured at 60 stations over 1- or 2-week intervals from May to November 2014. In addition, the grazing impacts of dominant metazooplankton on red tide species and their potential heterotrophic protistan grazers were estimated by combining field data on the abundance of red tide species, heterotrophic protist grazers, and dominant metazooplankton with data obtained from the literature concerning ingestion rates of the grazers on red tide species and heterotrophic protists. The mean abundance of total metazooplankton at each sampling time during the study was 297-1,119 individuals $m^{-3}$. The abundance of total metazooplankton was significantly positively correlated with that of phototrophic dinoflagellates (p < 0.01), but it was not significantly correlated with water temperature, salinity, and the abundance of diatoms, euglenophytes, cryptophytes, heterotrophic dinoflagellates, tintinnid ciliates, and naked ciliates (p > 0.1). Thus, dinoflagellate red tides may support high abundance of total metazooplankton. Copepods dominated metazooplankton assemblages at all sampling times except from Jul 11 to Aug 6 when cladocerans and hydrozoans dominated. The calculated maximum grazing coefficients attributable to calanoid copepods on C. polykrikoides and Prorocentrum spp. were 0.018 and $0.029d^{-1}$, respectively. Therefore, calanoid copepods may not control populations of C. polykrikoides or Prorocentrum spp. Furthermore, the maximum grazing coefficients attributable to calanoid copepods on the heterotrophic dinoflagellates Polykrikos spp. and Gyrodinium spp., which were grazers on C. polykrikoides and Prorocentrum spp., respectively, were 0.008 and $0.047d^{-1}$, respectively. Therefore, calanoid copepods may not reduce grazing impact by these heterotrophic dinoflagellate grazers on populations of the red tide dinoflagellates.

Background: Squamous cell carcinoma (SCC) is the most common malignant tumor of the lips, but there is no summarized study on clinical aspects including surgical outcome of SCC on the lower lip in Korea. Objectives: To investigate the clinical characteristics and surgical outcome of lower lip SCC in Korean. Methods: A retrospective review of 34 patients diagnosed with lower lip SCC between January 2008 and December 2017 was conducted. Demographic data, clinical and histopathologic features, and surgical outcome were obtained from medical records and photographs. Results: The mean onset age of patients was 71.3 years with peak age group of 70s. The male-to-female ratio was 20:14. The mean duration was 14.7 months. 11 (32.4%) were ≥ 2 cm, and 23 (67.6%) were < 2cm. 2 (5.9%), who had lymph node stasis, were transferred to other department. Among 32 cases who had been treated with surgical excision at our department, 6 (18.8%) showed recurrence after surgical excision. Most of them (5 of 6 recurred cases) were revealed to have surgical margins of < 5mm. In histological study (n=26), 73.1% (n=19) was well differentiated, 23.1% (n=6) was moderately differentiated, and 3.8% (n=1) was poorly differentiated, in SCC type. 76.9% (n=20) was shown to be < 4 mm in invasion depth. Conclusion: We analyzed clinical characteristics of 34 Korean patients diagnosed with lower lip SCC. Also, we found that surgical margin > 5 mm is important factor to prevent recurrence of SCC after surgical excision.
The Association between Social Entrepreneurship and Organizational Performance of Social Enterprises
( Keon Hyung Lee ),( Kwi Hee Bae ) 한국정책학회 2016 한국정책학회 추계학술발표논문집 Vol.2016 No.-
The purpose of this study is to examine the relationship between the social entrepreneurship and the performance of social enterprises and to evaluate the impact of the social entrepreneurship on the performance of social enterprises. Moreover, we would like to investigate how the social entrepreneurship influence on the performance and other social aspects. THis study employs the survey collected in 2011. The population was 501 social enterprises that were accredited by the Korea Department of Labor (DoL) and 309 Seoul-style enterprises. A total of 775 surveys were sent out to all 501 social enterprises that were accredited by the DoL and 274 Seoul-style enterprises. THe response rate was 37.3 percent (289 out of 775). Among 289 returned, 15 surveys were excluded in the analysis because of missing values. Thus, 274 samples are used in the final SEM analysis and the sample size is adequated to the SEM analysis. To evaluate the statistical significance of hypotheses, the critical ratios and p-values are examined, First, social enterpreneurship is positively associated with organizational participation and it is statistically significant (C.R.=3.850, p=.001). Second, social enterpreneurship is positively associated with jovb satisfaction and is is statistically significant (C.R.=3.929, p=.001).Third, social enterpreneurship is positively associated with organizational performance and it is statistically significant(C.R.=2.537, p=.011). Fourth, social enterpreneurship is positively associated with social impact and it is statistically significant (C.R.=2.648, p=.008). Fifth, organizational participation is positively associated with job satisfaction and it is statistically significant (C.R.=3.425, p=.001). Sixth, organizational participation is positively associated with organizational performance and it is statistically significant (C.R.=2.201, p=.028). Seventh, job satisfaction is positively associated with organizational perforamnce and it is statistically singificant(C.R.=2.941, p=.003). Eighth, job satisfaciton is positively associated with social impact and it is statistically significant(C.R.=2.646, p=.008). THere are two managerial implications in this study. First, because social entrepreneurship is an important element affecting economic accomplishments and social impact, it must be stressed and education on it must be strengthened in activating social enterprises and fostering social entrepreneurs. Because those equipped with social entrepreneurship mostly are the chief executive officers (CEOs) of social entrprises, education on social entrepreneurship must be strengthened not only of these people but also for prospective social entrepreneurs who dream of establishing social enterprises. Second, necessary are the participation of members of social enterprises and a management strategy that, based on this, will raise work satisfaction. Heightening the affection and loyalty of members of social enterprises toward their organization through diverse efforts such as arousing thir pride that they achieve social purposes and realize social values even if they work for low salaries will have a desirable effect on the organizational accomplishments of social enterprises.
