        We have investigated the effect of hydrophobic environmental reagents (urea and DMSO) on the anomalous absorbance-temperature profile of condensed DNA, induced by spermine. The cooperativity of the phase transition to the trough region in the anomalous absorbance-temperature profile is more sensitive to the hydrophobic environmental reagents than that of the melting region, and the trough peak size can be decreased by increased concentration of the hydrophobic reagents. The present data indicate the importance of hydrophobic interaction in the stabilization of the condensed state of DNA induced by spermine, and that the anomalous absorbance-temperature profile is due to the thermal stabilization of the tertiary structure of the spermine-induced collapsed state of the DNA.

      • 정신지체학생의 신체활동 참여에 따른 신체유능성지각 및 사회성에 관한 연구

        본 연구의 목적은 신체활동에 참여하고 있는 정신지체초등학생들을 대상으로 신체유능성지각의 10가지의 하위요인과 사회성의 3가지 하위요인에 어떻게 영향을 미치는지 파악하는 것이다. 연구의 대상자는 2010년 현재 수도권에 거주하고 있는 정신지체초등학생 150명을 선정하였다. 신체유능성지각을 측정하는 조사도구는 Ulrich와 Collier(1990)가 제작한 '정신지체아동을 위한 신체유능성지각 그림척도'를 사용하였으며, 사회성을 측정하는 조사도구는 김향지(1996)가 164명의 아동을 대상으로 질문지에 관한 타당화 연구를 실시한 '사회성기술평정척도'를 사용하여 독립표본 t-검증(t-test), 일원변량분석(One-way ANOVA), 상관관계분석(Correlation Analysis)을 사용하였다. 연구 분석 결과 신체활동에 참여와 운동에 참여하는 시간, 빈도, 기간에 신체유능성지각 및 사회성 하위요인들에 긍정적인 영향을 미쳤고, 신체활동참여유형에 따라서는 단체운동과 대인운동에 참여하는 것이 개인운동에 참여하는 것보다 신체유능성지각 및 사회성 하위요인에서 비교적 높은 것으로 나타났다. 이러한 결과는 정신지체초등학생이 운동에 자주참여하고, 대인운동 및 단체운동에 참여하게 될 때 신체유능성지각과 사회성에 긍정적인 영향을 미친다는 것을 암시하고 있다.

      • 합성 β-zeolite 상에서 프로펜에 의한 벤젠의 알킬화 반응

        The β-zeolites were synthesized in Na₂0-SiO₂-Al₂O₃-TEAOH system. The alkylation of benzene by propene on those catalysts was studied. The most important factor affecting the synthesis of β-zeolite was found to be the amount of TEAOH (tetraethylammonium hydroxide). When the ratio of TEA0H/Si0₂ was about 0.25-0.43, theβ -zeolite having a wide range of SiO₂/A1₂O₃ ratio cou1d be synthesized. The selectivity to cumene in the alkylation of benzene by propane was 92%, and no deactivation was observed even after 20 hows-on-stream.

        The purpose of this stuffy was find out any relationship between specific segmental kinesthesis and particular shorts using several different sports athletes. A total of 20 (5 athletes for each event) subjects were randomely selected among the athletes in "Y" university athletes clubs of Taekwondo, football, basketball, and baseball. The kinesthesis test used in this study were Horizontal space test of the upper limbs, Vertical space test of the upper limbs, Horizontal space teat of the lower limbs and Vertical space test of the lower limbs. The results of this stuffy were as follows; 1. In Horizontal kinesthesis of the upper limbs, the athletes using the upper limbs much such as basketball and baseball players wore superior in the score to those using the lower limbs much like Taekwondo athletes and football players. 2. In Vertical kinesthesis of the upper limbs, the athletes using the upper limbs much such as basketball and baseball players were superior in the score to those using the lower limbs mach like Taekwondo athletes andfootball players. 3. In Horizontal kinesthesis of the lower limbs, athletes using the lower limbs much were superior in the score to those using the upper limbs, much wereas the athletes using the lower limbs much were inferior in the score to those of others. 4. In Vertical kinesthesis of lower· limbs the athletes using the lower limbs such as Taekwondo athletes and football players were inferior in the score to those of using the upper limbs much like basketball and baseball players. 5. In kinesthesis of upper limbs, the players using the upper limbs much were superior in the score to those using the lower limbs much like Taekwondo athletes and football players born in vertical and Horizental kinesthesis, but in kinesthesis of the lower limbs, all the athletes were the same in Horizental kinesthesis. And in Vertical kinesthesis, the players using the upper limbs much were superior in the cootie to those of using the lower limbs much like Taekwondo athletes, and football players.

      • 폐결핵 환자 혈청에서 수용성 Interleukin 2 수용체 및 Adenosine Deaminase 활성도에 관한 연구

        Interleukin-2 (IL-2) induces T cell proliferation in an autocrine manner and provides a means by which antigen triggered T cells can be clonally expanded in vitro. During the following activation, the activity of IL-2 is mediated by specific high affinity IL-2 binding membrane receptors which are expressed shortly after activation. In this process, a 42 KD-fragment (soluble IL-2R) is continuously cleaved off and circulates as a soluble marker of T lymphocyte activation. Elevated level of soluble IL-2R has been identified in the serum of patients with malignant autoimmune and allergic disorders, systemic parasitic infection, undergoing graft versus host disease, acute or chronic lymphocytic leukemia and HIV-infection. ADA (adenosine deaminase) completes the process of differentiation of T cell and is essential for progression of T cell maturation. Therefore level of ADA is to correlated with magnitude of T cell immune response. The fact that expression of sIL-2R and ADA activity increases in peripheral blood T-lymphocytes of patients with active pulmonary tuberculosis suggests that T cell activation might have a major role in the pathogenesis of pulmonary tuberculosis. In order to evaluate the T cell immune response in pulmonary tuberculosis, we measured the serum concentration of sIL-2R and ADA activity in 17 patients with current pulmonary tuberculosis, 10 chronic inactive pulmonary tuberculosis, 10 as normal controls. (1) Current pulmonary tuberculosis had significantly higher levels of sIL-2R (237.24±95.47)when compared with those of inactive tuberculosis (78.6±11.06). and the control (68.17±15.4) group. (2) ADA activity in current pulmonary tuberculosis was significantly increased (34.41±20.63) when compared with those of inactive tuberculosis (24.7±14.36) and control (17.65± 5.94) group. (3) There was good correlation between sIL-2R concentration and ADA activity in serum in current pulmonary tuberculosis group. (4) sIL-2R concentration and ADA activity was decreased significantly 6 months after anti-tuberculosis drug medication. In conclusion, sIL-2R concentration and ADA activity in serum in current pulmonary tuberculosis group was increased when compared with those of inactive pulmonary tuberculosis and the control group. By the way, T cell mediated immune response was enhanced in current pulmonary tuberculosis, but in inactive chronic pulmonary tuberculosis who had treated by antituberculosis drug medication, the concentration of sIL-2R and ADA activity was nearly normal.

      • 스페르민-DNA 복합체의 이례적 흡광도-온도 양상에 미치는 DMSO의 영향

        DNA의 응축을 유발시키는 spermine 농도 존재시 downward peak(trough)를 갖는 이례적 흡광도-온도 양상에 hydrophobic environment를 조성하는 DMSO의 영향을 조사하였다. DMSO 농도증가에 따라 downward peak의 깊이가 점차 얕아졌으며 그 phase transition enthalpy와 relative cooperative length(n)가 melting region보다는 downward peak(trough) phase transition에 더 예민하게 영향을 받았다. 따라서 본 data는 spermine에 의하여 유발되는 응축된 DNA 구조에 이르는 hydrophobic interaction에 의한 tertiary structure 형성이 온도상승에 따라 유리해짐으로써 downward peak가 형성된다는 추리를 확인하는 실험결과가 될 것이다. In an effort to improve our knowledge on the mechanism of the collapse of DNA into a compact structure by polyamines, we investigated the effect of dimethyl sulfoxide (DMSO), a hydrophobic environmental reagent on the anomalous absorbance-temperature profile of condensed DNA, induced by spermine and having a trough preceeded by the initiation of the melting phase. The trough peak size can be decreased by increased concentration of DMSO, and the cooperativity of the phase transition to the region in the anomalous absorbance-temperature profile is more sensitive to DMSO than that of the melting regions of the profile. The present data indicate that the anomalous absorbance-temperatuve profile is due to the thermal stabilization of the tertiary structure of the spermine-induced collapsed state of DNA and the importance of hydrophobic interaction in the stabilization of the condensed state of DNA induced by spermine.

        대퇴-대퇴동맥간 우회술에서 이식편의 개존율

        Purpose and Method: To access the value and results of femoro-femoral bypass for the treatment of unilateral iliac artery occlusion, the clinical data of 53 patients who underwent femoro-femoral bypass graft at Yeungnam University Hospital between January 1994 to December 2000 were analyzed retrospectively. The influence of variables (such as, age, sex, preoperative symptom, risk factors and associated medical illness, status distal artery, preoperative ABI) on the long term patency was evaluated by univariate statistical analysis. Result: The patients were 47 males and 6 females ranging from 37 to 84 years of age. The mean age was 65, with the highest incidence among people in their 60s, followed by those in their 70s and then in their 50s. Associated disease were hypertension in 28 case (52.8%), diabetes mellitus in 10 cases (18.8%), cardiac disease in 19 cases (32.0%) and cerebrovascular disease in 4 cases (7.5%). History of smoking was noted in 77.4% of the cases. Focal stenosis of donor site iliac artery has been found in 2 cases and combined distal outflow occlusion has been found in 21 cases, 2 donor site iliac artery ballon angioplasty was performed preoperatively and 14 adjuvant procedures (9 femoro-popliteal bypas, 2 femoro-tibial bypass, 3 profundoplasty) was performed simultaneously during the operation. Cumulative 1,3,5,-year primary and secondary patency rates of all femoro-femoral bypass were 87.0%, 76.6%, 68.1% and 91.7%, 85.7%, 73.5%. There was no operative mortality and major perioperative complications. Univariate analysis showed that the patients without distal arterial occlusion had significantly better 1-, 3-, and 5-year primary patency rates (93.0%, 89.0% and 74.2% versus 76.6%, 45.9% and 45.9% and 45.9%, P=0.02) compared with the patients with distal arterial occlusion. No significant effect was exerted by all other variables on long term results. Conclusion: These results suggest that femoro-femoral bypass is a sate and durable operation that results in good patency in a good runoff.

        Chemical mechanical polishing (CMP) process has been widely used to planarize dielectric layers, which can be applied to the integrated circuits for sub-micron technology. Despite the increased use of CMP process, it is difficult to accomplish the global planarization of in the defect-free inter-level dielectrics (ILD). we investigated the performance of WO_(3) CMP used silica slurry, ceria slurry, tungsten slurry. In this paper, the effects of addition oxidizer on the WO_(3) CMP characteristics were investigated to obtain the higher removal rate and lower non-uniformity.
