        Improved Method for Calculating Armature-Reaction Field of Surface-Mounted Permanent Magnet Machines Accounting for Opening Slots

        This paper presented an improved analytical method for calculating armature-reaction field in the surface-mounted permanent magnet machines accounting for opening slots. The analytical model is divided into two types of subdomains. The current of the armature is centralized in the center of the slots. The field solution of each subdomain is obtained by applying the interface and boundary conditions of the model. Two 30-pole/36-slot prototype machines with different slot-opening width are used for validation. The FE (finite element) results confirm the validity of the analytical results with the proposed model. The investigation shows that the wider the slot-opening width is, the smaller the peak value of radial and circumferential components of flux density, and the analytical armature-reaction field produced by centralized current in the slots is similar with the armature-reaction field produced by distributed current in the slots in the FE.

        Uncertainty Analysis of Dynamic Thermal Rating of Overhead Transmission Line

        Dynamic thermal rating of the overhead transmission lines is affected by many uncertain factors. The ambient temperature, wind speed and wind direction are the main sources of uncertainty. Measurement uncertainty is an important parameter to evaluate the reliability of measurement results. This paper presents the uncertainty analysis based on Monte Carlo. On the basis of establishing the mathematical model and setting the probability density function of the input parameter value, the probability density function of the output value is determined by probability distribution random sampling. Through the calculation and analysis of the transient thermal balance equation and the steady- state thermal balance equation, the steady-state current carrying capacity, the transient current carrying capacity, the standard uncertainty and the probability distribution of the minimum and maximum values of the conductor under 95% confidence interval are obtained. The simulation results indicate that Monte Carlo method can decrease the computational complexity, speed up the calculation, and increase the validity and reliability of the uncertainty evaluation.

        Comprehensive evaluation method of groundwater environment in a mining area based on fuzzy set theory

        Disordered mining activities have significantly affected the eco-geological environment of groundwater in mining area. Based on the fuzzy set theory, this paper considered three factors: the quantity of groundwater resources, groundwater environmental quality and groundwater vulnerability, and established a multi-index and multi-parameter non-linear evaluation system to make a comprehensive evaluation of the groundwater environment in the mining area. The results showed that the groundwater eco-geological environmental issues in this region were serious. The distribution area of poor quality of groundwater environment was very large, accounting for 72.5% of the studied area, and it mainly distributed in the middle and southern regions. The areas with general groundwater quality covered about 19.0% and mainly distributed in the central and northern parts in a strip shape. The areas with good groundwater quality covered about 8.5% and distributed sporadically. Moreover, in the study area, because the groundwater vulnerability was at a high level and the groundwater environmental quality was poor, the groundwater was extremely susceptible to contamination. Therefore, the groundwater environment in the area should be significantly protected during coal mining. In addition, the predicted results can provide a scientific reference for the planning and sustainable development of large coalfields.

      • Effect of Antrodia camphorata polysaccharides on letrozole-induced polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) model rats

        To investigate the effect of ACP on letrozole-induced PCOS rats. All rats were divided into normal groups, PCOS group, metformin group and ACP group. The body weight (BW) was recorded every three days, and the final body weight as well as ovarian weight were recorded. Serum levels of TC, TG, HDL-C, LDL-C and E2, T, FSH and LH were measured by ELISA assay, and the LH/FSH ratio was calculated. The results showed that ACP decreased the BW and the ratio of ovarian to BW. Compared with the normal group, the serum levels of T, LH, LH/FSH, TG, TC, LDL-C increased, and the levels of FSH, E2, HDL-C decreased in PCOS group. ACP effectively improves the serum levels of FSH, LH/FSH, TG, TC, LDL-C and other related factors. The results of H&E staining of ovarian tissues showed that the ACP group showed different degrees of improvement in the reduced number of corpus luteum, thinning of granulosa cell layer, follicular capsular dilatation and follicular atresia. ACP not only reduces BW and the ratio of ovarian to BW, but also it can elevate the level of FSH and reduce LH/FSH, TG, TC and HDL-C levels. Furthermore, ACP can protect ovarian tissue to some extent.

        LncRNA MEG3 Regulates Imatinib Resistance in Chronic Myeloid Leukemia via Suppressing MicroRNA-21

        Imatinib resistance has become a major clinical problem for chronic myeloid leukemia. The aim of the present study was to investigate the involvement of MEG3, a lncRNA, in imatinib resistance and demonstrate its underlying mechanisms. RNAs were extracted from CML patients' peripheral blood cells and human leukemic K562 cells, and the expression of MEG3 was measured by RT-qPCR. Cell proliferation and cell apoptosis were evaluated. Western blotting was used to measure the protein expression of several multidrug resistant transporters. Luciferase reporter assay was performed to determine the binding between MEG3 and miR-21. Our results showed that MEG3 was significantly decreased in imatinib-resistant CML patients and imatinib-resistant K562 cells. Overexpression of MEG3 in imatinib-resistant K562 cells markedly decreased cell proliferation, increased cell apoptosis, reversed imatinib resistance, and reduced the expression of MRP1, MDR1, and ABCG2. Interestingly, MEG3 binds to miR-21. MEG3 and miR-21 were negatively correlated in CML patients. In addition, miR-21 mimics reversed the phenotype of MEG3-overexpression in imatinib-resistant K562 cells. Taken together, MEG3 is involved in imatinib resistance in CML and possibly contributes to imatinib resistance through regulating miR-21, and subsequent cell proliferation, apoptosis and expression of multidrug resistant transporters.

        Multiple frequency vibration of the micro lubricating gap geometry between cylinder block and valve plate in an axial piston pump

        Refined models of the forces in the cylinder block/valve plate system along Z axis and the moments around X and Y axes were built, considering the pressure ripple due to the piston reciprocating motions (PRM) and pressure variations in the wedge film (PVF) and the chambers (PVC) caused by the silencing slots. The multi-frequency vibration models of the gap geometry owing to the forces and moments are proposed. The dynamic mechanical balance equations are presented. The frequency spectra of the test gap thickness show the vibration amplitudes at the first three frequencies are larger than those of the other frequencies. PVF and PVC have obvious influences on the gap at the second frequency, and PRM exerts an impact at the third. The moment fluctuations around X and Y axes, bending stiffness of the shaft, and the rough surfaces contact could affect the vibration amplitude of the wedge gap geometry.
