        Conceptual Study for Tissue-Regenerative Biodegradable Magnesium Implant Integrated with Nitric Oxide-Releasing Nanofi bers

        The excessive initial corrosion rate of Mg is a critical limitation in the clinical application of biodegradable Mg implantsbecause the device loses its fi xation strength before the fractured bone heals. This study suggests a new approach to overcomethis hurdle by accelerating tissue regeneration instead of delaying the implant biodegradation. As angiogenesis is anessential process in early bone regeneration, a Mg implant coated with electrospun nanofi bers containing nitric oxide (NO),which physiologically promotes angiogenesis, is designed. The integrated device enables adjustable amounts of NO to bestored on the NO donor-conjugated nanofi ber coating, stably delivered, and released to the fractured bone tissue near theimplanted sites. An in vitro corrosion test reveals no adverse eff ect of the released NO on the corrosion behavior of the Mgimplant. Simultaneously, the optimal concentration level of NO released from the implant signifi cantly enhances tube networkformation of human umbilical vein endothelial cells without any cytotoxicity problem. This indicates that angiogenesis canbe accelerated by combining NO-releasing nanofi bers with a Mg implant. With its proven feasibility, the proposed approachcould be a novel solution for the initial stability problem of biodegradable Mg implants, leading to successful bone fi xation.

        Multiple myeloma is a disease caused by neoplastic plasma cells that synthesize abnormal amouts of immunoglobulin or immunoglobulin fragments. Light chain myeloma are regarded as a separate category characterized by a more malignant clinical course. Light chain myelomas are said to grow fastest of all and are associated with more osteolytic lesions, more hypercalcemia, and a higher incidence of renal failure and amyloidsis than either the IgG, IgA varienties The authors experienced a case of patients with λ-light chain myeloma. A 43-year-old male patient admitted to our hospital with the chief complaint of both rib and lower back pain. The radiologic findings showed multiple pathologic fracture in ribs. osteolytic lesions in 2nd, 3rd cervical spineimmuture plasma cells. Serum electrophoresis showed normal finding. Urine electrophoresis evealed an M-spike. Urine immunoelectrophoress demonstrated λ-monoclonal protein. With the cycle of melphalan, prednisone and α-interferon chemotherapy improved of pain was observed. So we reported the case with brief review of previous literature.

        In this paper, examine present status of financial institution s facility in USA and Japan which are known as advanced countries of private security industry, and analyze face subject and controversial points. And then, grope improvement plan for efficient security and problems of Korean financial institution s security. As results of study, for improved self-security of financial institutions, followings are the financial institution self-security plans and confrontation plan of private security companies. First, among the financial institutions, crime is increasing to community bank which security is vulnerable relatively than major banks. This is evidence that advanced security equipments are effective to control the will of crime. Therefore, financial institution should install advanced security equipments under the sense of duty that manage customer s property safely by oneself, and cooperate with private security company for better crime prevention activities. Second, criminals are usually propel crime at opening, changing time at lunch, and at closing hour. Because, employees of financial institution are not paying much attention in those loose time. Therefore, non-window personnel s supports are must be provided to make circumstance that window personnel works at right position certainly when starting time or shifting time. Third, when crime is occurred, non-window personnel must issue alarm quickly and request cooperation of the police or private security company. Especially, one of the important suggestion by this paper is that alarm should be issued to in and out side of financial institution along with the police and private security company and establish citizen arrest system which helps arrest criminals by citizen or related agents in neighbor area. Fourth, Security must be managed as multiple system such as automatic alarm device on building walls and vault to issue the alarm when there are unusual noises or vibration of vault because in case of single alarm he, F criminals cut off the alarm line, it could be open state to crime. So, must establish multi alarm system and make criminals not to accomplish crime by delaying entry time. Fifth, to customer who withdrawal cash or check more then certain amount, escort service should be introduced and escort to destination safely as customer protection system even if customer does not ask for. And Followings are confrontation plan of private security companies. First, confrontation ability at initial stage is not enough. Under current security system, it is very hard to reach the spot with crime time even If go out as fast as possible. Therefore, manage manless automatic monitor system thoroughly and set multi-channel warning system so that alarm may issue around police station or private security' company as well as banking facilities neighborhood in case of panic button is pressed in window, and must grope plan of total citizen criminal prevention system that can request neighborhood inhabitants' cooperation. If systematic and synthetic management is accomplished in window, crime can be prevented in some degree. In other words, most of crime at window can be prevented by alarm management system at window, cooperation system with professional security agents and insuring window security agents, etc. Second, securing professionalism of professional security team is urgent. Most of private security company's manpower are not qualified, and it is that they are not much helpful when actual situation occurred. Also, it is truth that their role is limited to carry out preventive patrol activity. Therefore, professional training and education to financial facility staff is required. Moreover, should recruit specially trained manpower at military or police, and it is necessary to consider plan that confront properly in initial state of crime. And the most important thing is holding back criminal's crime wills thru security staffs periodic and systematic confrontation training abut financial facilities crime. Third, professional security school is necessity to educate and train private security staff by each fields. As a plan to this idea, utilizing education and training system of existing school or military, and newly establish professional education and training institute to cultivate professional security staffs. Especially, for financial facility, must aim at operation of the most advanced security equipments. And for cash-in transit vehicles, must used wireless transmitter equipped vehicles and bags obligatorily, so that it is possible to trace the location when it is robbed.

        골부초와 자갈대에 의한 고랭지 감자재배지 토양보전 효과

        강원도 고령지 지역의 밭은 경사지에 발달한 곳이 많아서 강우에 의한 유거수와 토양의 유실이 많이 일어나게 된다. 일부 지역에서는 석비레를 이용하여 농업을 하고 있어 강우침식을 쉽게 받을 수 있다. 이러한 농경지 밭에 쉽게 적용하여 토양유실을 저감시킬 수 있도록 하기 위해 농경지 인근에서 쉽게 구할 수 있는 잡초와 토양침식 후 표면에 남은 자갈을 이용하여 골에 일정 간격으로 두어 그 효과를 살펴보았다. 토양 유실량은 식양토이면서 13%의 경사를 가진 포장에서는 사경과 등고선 경작만으로도 토양 유실량을 현저히 줄일 수 있는 것으로 나타났고, 경사가 23%,인 석비레 사양토 포장에서는 토양 유실이 심하게 발생하는 것으로 나타났다. 부초와 자갈을 최소로 이용하는 골최소부초와 골자갈대를 시험구에 처리함으로써 처리하지 않은 구에 비해 횡계와 용산 포장에서 45% 이상의 토양 유실 저감 효과와 유거수 발생 또한 저감시킬 수 있는 것으로 나타났으나, 사양토인 석비레 성토 지역의 경우는 토양 유실량이 보전처리구에서 61 Mg/ha 이상이 발생하여 골최소부초와 골자갈대를 3 m 간격으로 처리 하여서는 그 효과를 허용 토양 유실량인 11 Mg/ha 이하로 낮출 수 없는 것으로 평가되어 단일한 방법으로는 토양보전에 부족할 것으로 평가되었다. To develop proper soil management practices for reducing soil erosion, experiments were carried out by using lysimeters in Pyeongchang highland, Korea. Lysimeters installed at Hoenggye had 13% slope, 15 m slope length and 3 m width. Lysimeters with 23% slope, 15 m slope length and 5 m width were also installed at Yongsan. Soil textures in Hoenggye and Yongsan lysimeter plots were silty clay loam and sandy loam, respectively. In the lysimeters potato was cultivated, and slant furrow culture and contour culture were applied. Up-down furrow and continuous fallow lysimeter was included in the experiments as a control plot. For the slant furrow and contour culture methods, minimum furrow mulching and gravel barrier were placed at each end of the furrows in the lysimeters from April to October in 2000 and 2001 to prevent soil and nutrient losses. In Heonggye, in two years experiments, average soil loss of 17 Mg/ha was found in the up-down and continuous fallow lysimeter and 2.6 Mg/ha from furrow minimum straw and slant furrow treatment, and 1.8 Mg/ha from slant furrow and gravel bag treatment. In the contour culture, the soil losses were further reduced. In Yongsan, soil loss in the slant furrow culture without any protection treatment was 167 Mg/ha, and the soil loss was reduce to 61 and 86 Mg/ha with minimum straw and gravel bag treatments, respectively. The soil loss could be reduced more than 45% by furrow minimum straw and gravel barrier. The furrow minimum straw or gravel bag barrier successfully reduced soil loss in clay loam soil in Heonggye, but still the treatments were not enough to reduce soil loss in saprolite piled sandy loam soil in Yongsan.

Many companies have been proceeding or have completed the development of quality system since 1992. However medium and small size construction companies have many difficulties due to lack of understanding, cooperation of top or related management, money and man power. In this paper the problems of the minor construction companies are picked out through the case study of D construction company in Pusan and then countermeasures which can be efficiently applied to the development and operation of quality management system are suggested to help the medium and small construction companies that want to adopt the quality management system.

        아크릴아미드 고정 구멍갈파래에 의한 중금속 Cd(Ⅱ), Pb(Ⅱ) 이온의 흡착특성 (Ⅰ)-Column법

        본 연구에서는 동해안 해조류인 구멍갈파래를 아크릴아미드에 고정하여, Cd(Ⅱ) 및 Pb(Ⅱ) 중금속 이온의 흡착 특성을 살펴보았다. 수순한 Ulva pertusa 및 Si-Ulva pertusa 흡착제보다는 아크릴아미드에 고정화된 Ulva pertusa의 경우 많은 양의 중금속이 흡착되었으며, Pb(Ⅱ) 이온이 Cu(Ⅱ) 이온보다 더 잘 흡착되는 것으로 나타났다. 흡착제의 농도가 작은 경우 중금속 이온의 흡착량은 pH에 큰 영향이 없었으나, 흡착제의 농도가 클 경우 중금속 이온의 흡착량은 pH에 큰 영향을 받았다. pH에 따른 중금속 이온의 흡착량은 pH 10.5 > 8.5 > 7.0 > 5.5 > 3.5 순으로 나타났다. 아크릴아미드에 고정화된 Ulva pertusa의 단위 질량에 대해 Cd(Ⅱ) 및 Pb(Ⅱ) 이온의 최대 흡착량은 각각 최대 8.73 ㎎과 13.20 ㎎으로 나타났다. 또한 Cd(Ⅱ) 및 Pb(Ⅱ) 이온의 회수율은 pH에 따라 다소 차이가 있었으나, 각각 61.3~75.5% 및 61.4~54.1%로 나타났다. 중금속 이온의 회수에 있어서 산성 조건이 알칼리성 조건보다 효율적이었으며, 본 실험에 의한 중금속 이온의 흡착 특성은 Freundlich 흡착 특성과 잘 일치하는 것으로 나타났다. Adsoprtion characteristics of Cd(II) and Pb(II: heavy metal ions onto the Acrylamide-immobilized Ulva pertusa, and algae of the eastern coastal area. was examined in this work. Much amounts of heavy metal ions were adsorbed onto the Acrylamide-immobilized than either bare Ulva pertusa or Si-Ulva pertusa. It was also observed that Pb(II) was more readily adsorbed on the algae that Cu(II). The adsorption amounts of heavy metal ions showed no great dependence on the pH value at low adsorbent concentration, but those were high dependent on pH value at high adsorbent concentration. The adsorption amounts of heavy metal ions were in the following order; pH 10.5 > 8.5 > 7.0 > 5.5 > 3.5. The maximum adsorption amounts of Cd(II) and PB(II) onto Ig of Acrylamide-immobilized Ulva pertusa were 8.73 mg and 13.20 mg, respectively. It was found that recovery yields of Cd(II) and Pb(II) ions were in the range of 61.3∼75.5% and 61.4∼54.1% depending on the pH level. In the heavy metal recovery, acidic condition was more efficient that alkaline condition. The adsorption behavior of these heavy metal ions was well matched with the Freundlich adsorption isotherm.

        This paper tries to analyse the mental state of intelligentsia in Choi Myung-Ik's novels. In his novels, this purpose comes into question when a psychological description is well made under the condition of modernity of the late 1930's. The newspaper and the train have a function of an index of modernity. Characters in the novels of Choi Myung-Ik's maintain a dubious attitude toward this condition of a modern life and the capitalist reality. That is, it represents the feeling of an adoration and a rejection simultaneously. And this ambiguity can be applicable to snobbery. And the reading and a 'death' image are the ultimate and solitary method to satisfy man's desire in the desperate reality and the artistic negation's extreme method. They function as a kind of positive force of negation against the inexorable logic. In this way, we can understand the intelligentsia's disability in his novels.

        자갈함량과 질소시비량이 고랭지 배추재배시 침투수에 의한 질소용탈 및 생육에 미치는 영향

        고랭지 배추재배지의 성토재로 사용되고 있는 석비레는 모래와 자갈함량이 높아 토양침식과 양분용탈의 주 요인이 되고 있어 본 연구는 자갈함량에 따른 배추수량과 질소의 용탈양상을 구명하고자 pot 시험을 수행하였다. 시험 결과, 배추의 생체수량은 자갈의 함량이 증가할수록 감소하는 경향이었고, 특히 질소시비량 240 kg/ha 구에서는 현저한 수량감소를 보였다. 질소시비량 60 kg/ha 구에서는 자갈함량 30%, 질소시비량 120 kg/ha 구에서는 자갈함량 50%를 변환점으로 하여 배추수량이 급격히 감소하였다. 배추의 생육장해는 질소시비량이 240 kg/ha인 구에서는 대부분 위조현상이 나타났으며 결구 초기인 8월 초순에는 자갈함량이 50% 이상이 되면 질소시비량을 ha당 120 kg만 시용해도 50% 이상이 위조현상을 보였다. 침출수의 암모늄태 질소는 자갈함량과 질소시비량이 많을수록 침출수의 농도가 높아지는 경향을 보였는데, 특히 배추의 고사가 발생한 30% 이상의 자갈함량과 질소시비량 240 kg/ha인 처리구의 농도는 139-339 mg/L이었다. 침출수의 질소용탈량은 자갈함량에 따라 정의 상관관계를 보였고, 자갈함량이 10% 증가될 때마다 pot당 0.14g씩 증가하여 자갈함량이 10%일 때에 비하여 자갈함량이 30%가 되면 약 3.8배 증가하였다. 배추재배 시험 후 토양의 화학성은 NH₄-H 농도와 pH는 처리간에 일정한 경향을 보이지 않았고, NO₃-N 농도는 자갈함량 30%까지는 증가하다가 50%부터는 감소하는 경향을 보였다. 사양토에서 자갈의 함량이 30%일 때 질소비료 240 kg/ha, 자갈함량이 50%일 때 질소비료 120 kg/ha을 시용하면 배추의 생육장해를 가져올 수 있다. 따라서 이러한 토양에 시비를 하게 되면 염류장해와 위조현상을 초래하므로 토양유실이 심한 고랭지는 특수환경을 고려한 시비기준이 설정되어야 할 것으로 판단된다. Continuous monocropping of Chinese cabbage in Gangwon highland increased gravel and sand contents due to surface soil erosion. Nutrient leaching and Chinese cabbage growth were investigated with different treatments of gravel contents and nitrogen application levels by using 0.5 m²Wagner pots. Gravel contents were 0, 10, 30, 50, 70, and 90%(w/w), nitrogen application levels were 60, 120, and 240 kg/ha, and manure compost application rate was 15 ton per hectare, respectively. Wagner pots were filled with loamy sand soil mixed with 5 cm-sized gravels. Fresh weight of Chinese cabbage was decreased as gravel contents in soil increased, and particularly severely decreased at 240 kg-N/ha. Yields of Chinese cabbage were remark-ably decreased at the rate of 60 kg-N/ha with 30% gravel content and 120 kg-N/ha with 50% gravel content. Most of Chinese cabbages were severely wilted by heavy N application at the rate of 240 kg-N/ha in the middle of growth stages regardless of gravel contents, while about 50% of Chinese cabbage showed wilting symptom in the treatment of more than 50% of gravel contents and 120 kg-N/ha. N content in leachate in-creased as gravel content and N application increased. The relationship between gravel content and N con-tents showed linear regression: N in leachate = 0.014(gravel content) -0.039 (r = 0.961). Particularly, NH₄-N contents in leachates with more than 30% gravel content and 240 kg-N/ha ranged from 139~339 mg/L. Chinese cabbage growth in loamy sand soil containing 30%, and 50% gravel contents could be adversely affected by N application at the rate of 240, and 120 kg-N/ha, respectively.

      • 제대혈 분리방법의 차이에 따른 단핵구 및 조혈모세포의 수득 효과에 관한 비교연구

        연구배경 : 최근에 보고된 변형적 Ficoll-Hypaque 방법을 이용한 제대혈 분리방법이 지금까지의 고식적 Ficoll-Hypaque 분리방법에 비하여 조혈모세포의 수득효과면에서 얼마나 차이가 있는지 또한 비교적 수득효과가 크다고 알려져 있는 3% gelatin을 이용한 분리방법에 비하여 얼마나 효과적인지를 알아보고, 제대혈 분리방법의 차이에 따라 단핵구와 조혈모세포 사이에 어떤 상관관계가 있는지 알아보기 위하여 본 연구를 시행하였다. 방법: 21명의 건강한 산모로부터 정상 질식 및 제왕절개 분만 후 제대정맥에서 해파린 처리한 주사기를 사용하여 제대혈을 채취하였다 채취한 제대혈은 동일하게 3개월 시험관에 나누어 실온에서 24시간 이내에 고식적 Ficoll-Hypaque분리법, modified Ficoll-Hypaque 분리법, 3% gelatin 분리법을 이용하여 각각 단핵구 분리를 시도하였으며 이들의 단핵구수 및 생존률, CD34 양성세포수, 집락수를 측정 비교 하였다. 또 상관분석을 이용하여 단핵구수, CD34양성세포수와 CFU-GM집락수 사이의 상관관계를 알아보았다. 결과: 1) 세포 생존률은 고식적 Ficoll-Hypaque 분리법, 변형적 Ficoll-Hypaque 분리법, 3% gelatin 분리법 사이레 통계적 차이가 없었다. 2) 단핵구수는 3% gelatin으로 분리했을 때가 4.56±1.86 (×10^(6)/mL)로 수득효과가 가장 높았으며 (P=0.0001), Ficoll-Hypaque으로 분리했을때는 각각 1.54±0.06(×10^(6)/mL), 1.36±0.67(×10^(6)/mL)로서 고식적 방법과 변형적 방법 차이에 통계적 차이가 없었다. 3) CD34 양성세포수는 3%gelatin으로 분리했을 때가 6.08±3.99(×10⁴/mL)로 수득효과가 가장 높았으며 (P=0.0001), Ficoll-Hypaque으로 분리했을 때는 각각 2.18±2.17(×10⁴/mL), 2.24±1.63(×10⁴mL)로서 고식적 방법과 변형적 방법사이에 통계적 차이가 없었다. 4) CFU-GM 집락수는 3% gelatin으로 분리했을 때가 15.72±8.93(×10³/mL)로 수득효과가 가장 높았으며 (P=0.0002), Ficoll-Hypaque으로 분리했을 때는 각각 3.12±1.45(×10³mL), 2.35±0.82(×10³/mL)로서 고식적 방법과 변형적 방법 사이에 통계적 차이가 없었다, 5) 제대혈 고식적 Ficoll-Hypaque 방법으로 분리하였던 경우는 단핵구수와 CFU-GM집락수 사이에 상관관계가 없었으며CD34 양성세포수만 CFU-GM집락수와 상관관계가 있었다. (r=0.57). 또 변형적 Ficoll-Hypaque 방법에 의하여 분리하였던 경우는 단핵구수나 CD34 양성세포수 모두가 CFU-GM 집락수와 상관관계가 없었다. 그러나 제대혈을 3% gelatin법으로 분리하였던 경우는 CFU-GM집락수 가 단핵구수 (r=0.88) 및 CD34양성세포수(r=0.86)양자 모두와 상관관계가 있었다. 결론 : 3%gelatin을 이용하여 제대혈을 분리하는 것이 단핵구 및 조세모세포의 수득효과면에서 가장 효과적이었다. 한편 변형적 Ficoll-Hypaque 분리법이 고식적 Ficoll-Hypaque 분리법보다 시간과 경비면에서 비효율적이면서 수득효과도 높지 못하였다. 또 제대혈 분리법의 차이에 따라 단핵구나 CD34 양성세포와 VFU-GM사이에 상관관계에 차이가 있었으며, 실제로 제대혈이식 후에 생착 여부를 예측할 수 있는 인자가 제대혈 분리법의 차이에 따라 달라지는지에 관해서 보다 많은 임상적 연구가 필요할 것으로 사료된다. Background : Cord blood banking for stem cell transplantation requires volume reduction and red cell depletion for cost effective storage. To determine which technique could minimize the loss of progenitor cells during cord blood processing, we compared the efficacy of cord blood separating methods which were conventional Ficoll-Hypaque method, modified Ficoll-Hypaque method, and 3% gelatin method. Methods : Twenty-one cord blood samples were obtained with heparinized syringes from the umbilical vein following delivery. Three aliquots of each 20mL cord blood were stored at room temperature and processed by 3 different techniques within 24 hours after collection. We compared mononuclear cells(MNCs) counts and their viability, CD34+ cells counts, and CFU-GMs counts and also observed their correlations among three techniques. Results : 1) The yield of MNCs or CD34+ cells was highest in the cord blood processed with 3% gelatin method than conventional or modified Ficoll-Hypaque method(P=0.0001). 2) There were no significant difference in the yield of MNCs and CD34+ cells between conventional and modified Ficoll-Hypaque method. 3) Both MNCs counts (r=0.800) and CD34+ cells counts (r=0.86) were significantly correlated with CFU-GM counts in the cord blood processed with 3% gelatin method. 4) CD34+ cells counts were significantly correlated with CFU-GM counts in the cord blood processed with conventional Ficoll-Hypaque method (r=0.57), but MNC counts were not. 5) Both MNC counts and CD34+ cell counts were not correlated with CFU-GM counts in the cord blood processed with modified Ficoll-Hypaque method. Conclusion : Cord blood separation with 3% gelatin method could provide better yield of progenitor cells than with FICOLL_Hypaque methods. And between two Ficoll-Hypaque methods, modified method is more laborsome but not better in terms of clonogenic potential than conventional method.

      • Zinc Titanate에서 H₂S 흡수특성 조사

        요약문사출성형법으로 평가를 위해 ZnO 함량을 변화시키면서 4종류의 Zinc Titanate 흡수제를 제조하였다. Zn/Ti 몰비가 증가할수록 지배적인 결정상은 Zn 2Ti3O8과 Zn2TiO4로 관찰되었다. Zinc Titanate 탈황제에 의한 H2S 흡수반응을 모사석탄가스의 고온탈황에 의해서 실험적으로 연구하였다. 내경 3cm인 석영관의 고정상 반응기로 4종류의 Zin cTitanate 흡수제에 대하여 H2S 흡수와 재생의 10-cycle 실험을 수행하였다. 파과곡선, SEM, BET 등의 실험적인 관찰을 근거로 하여 650℃가 최적 흡수반응온도임을 결정하였다. 탈황과 재생의 반복적인 실험동안 H2S와 S02의 파과곡선들을 구하였다. 또한, 시험 전후의 흡수제의 물성변화를 SEM, EDX, Hg-porosimetry 및 BET 방법으로 분석하였다. 비록 더많은 연구가 필요하지만, 제한된 실험적 조건에서 판단하면 YZT-3(Zn/Ti=1.5)가 가장 우수한 탈황제라고 결론내릴 수 있다.AbstractFour zinc titanate sorbents were prepared for evaluation by extrusion method with varying ZnO contents. The predominant crystalline phases were Zn2Ti3O3 and Zn2TiO4 as Zn/Ti molar ratio was increased. Absorption of HzS by the zinc titanate sorbents was studied experimentally in high temperature desulfurization of simulated coal gas. Fixed-bed system of 3 cm i. d. quartz tube was used to carry out 10-cycle experiments of H2S absorption and regeneration for the zinc titanate sorbents. In these experiments the optimal absorption temperature was determined as 650 ℃ based on experimental observation of breakthrough curves, SEM and BET results, and so on. H2S and SO; breakthrough curves were obtained for each sorbent during repetitive cycles of desulfurization and regeneration. Also, property changes of the sorbent before and after testing were analyzed using SEM, EDX, XRD, Hg-porosimeter and BET method. It is concluded under this limited experimental conditions YZT-3 (Zn/Ti =1.5) was the most suitable desulfurization sorbent even though further tests are required.
