        In recent years, gonorrhea has been pandemic and remains one of the most common STDs in the world, especially in developing countries. For the detection of a more effective therapeutic regimen and assessing the prevalence of Penicillinase Producing Neisseria gonorrhoeae(PPNG), we have been trying to study the patients who have visited the Venereal Disease Clinic of Choong-Ku Public Health Center in Seoul since 1980 by menas of the chromogenic cephalosporin method. In 1998, 93 strians of N. genorrhoeae were isolated, among which 60(64.5%) were PPNG. The prevalence of PPNG in Seoul, which had been decreased to 39% in 1996 after a peak of 74.3% in 1993, is increased to 64.5% in 1998.

      • 자동차용 실리콘 가속도센서의 개발(Ⅱ)

        자동차의 air-bag 장치에 실용될 수 있는 압저항형 단결정 실리콘 가속도센서 칩을 개발하기 위하여 결정 실리콘 미세구조의 제조방법을 확립하고, 단위공정의 검증을 통하여 일괄공정에 의한 PROTO-TYPE 칩을 만드는 기술을 연구하였다. 단결정 실리콘 미세구조는 선택확산법을 이용하여 정확히 선택된 영역에만 air-gap을 형성하여 미세구조의 측면식각을 방지하는 선택확산법에 의한 실리콘 마이크로머시닝 기술로 제조하였다. 일괄공정을 위한 단위공정확립을 위하여 PROTY-TYPE 8빔 브릿지형 가속도 센서를 제조하였다. 제조된 칩의 가속도에 따른 출력전압은 선형성을 나타내고 있으며, 감도는 약 50 ㎶/V·g로 나타났다. 이 감도는 50G용 가속도센서의 사양을 만족하지 못했다. 이는 공정에 의한 문제라기 보다는 가속도센서의 시뮬레이션에 의해 설계한 구조가 이미 원하는 감도에 못 미친다는 것으로 생각된다. 따라서 2차 공정으로 제조될 가속도센서의 파라미터를 SuperSAP 유한요소 패키지를 이용하여 실리콘 미세구조부의 파라미터에 따른 특성을 시뮬레이션하였다. 설계된 50G용 가속도센서의 mass Pad의 반경 및 빔 길이, 빔 폭, 빔 두께, 그리고 mass의 각 파라미터 값은 700 ㎛, 120 ㎛, 5 ㎛, 1.0 ㎎ 이었다. 반도체 공정기술, 관성질량 제조법 및 선택확산을 이용한 마이크로머시닝을 사용하여 일괄공정으로 8빔 브린지형 가속도센서를 제조하였다. We researched the establishment of the silicon microstructure fabrication technique to develop a piezoresistive type silicon acceleration sensor chip and the technique to make a proto-type chip by the verification of the unit-process. Silicon microstructure is fabricated silicon micro-machining by selective diffusion method. This method prevent a side-etching of microstructure because selective diffused region is only formed an air-gap. We fabricated a proto-type 8-beam bridge-type acceleration sensor to establish the unit-process for the batch-process. The output voltage of the chip represented linearity with acceleration, and the sensitivity was about 50 ㎶/V·g. But this sensitivity dosen't satisfy the requirements of a practical acceleration sensor. The cause of this result is assumed not process problem, but the structure designed by simulation isn't suitable already. Threfore, the characteristics of parameters of the acceleration sensor that will be fabricated by 2nd-process is simulated by SuperSAP finite-element package. The determined parameter values of beam length, beam width, beam thickness, mass, and mass radius are 120 ㎛, 5 ㎛, 1.0 ㎎, and 700 ㎛, respectively. We fabricated 8-beam bridge-type acceleration sensor by batch-process using a semiconductor process technique, proof-mass fabrication method, and micromachinig using selective diffusion.

        복지근피판 거상후 공여부의 재건술

        Post radical mastectomy reconstruction using a transverse rectus abdominis myocutaneous flap involves certain problems at the donor site as the difficulty in closure secondary to excessive tension and the development of a postsurgical abdominal hernia. The usage of alloplastic materials such as Marlex may also cause eventual weakness as well as a foreign body reaction. While autogenous tissues may be used for a remote myocutaneous flap transposition or a free-tissue transfer, the problems such as a donor site defect, atrophy secondary to denervation, etc. exist. To avert these problems, we propose to use the autogenous tissue in a manner that provides a dynamic support in addition to the functional reconstruction. The components separation method decribed here separates the muscle groups of the abdominal wall, and allows several advantages over treating the abdominal wall as a single unit. One of the advantages is the increased mobility of individual muscles. The allows transferance of the flap over a greater distance which in turn reduces excessive tension and makes closure of the donor site defect easier. Thus, this procedure provides a dynamic support and reduces the incidence of hernia. We experienced 3 cases of abdominal wall reconstruction after TRAM flap transfer(one case after bilateral TRAM flap, two cases after contralateral unilateral TRAM flap) using external oblique muscle sharing or rectus sharing. So we present clinical cases of the abdominal wall reconstruction after TRAM flap transfer with a review of the literature.

      • FOPS(Film on Porous Silicon)를 이용한 ZnO 에어브리지의 제작

        Micromachining technique by FOPS(Film on Porous Silicon) method using ZnO thin film was studied to fabricate ZnO air-bridge type microstructures. Porous silicon was formed selectively in n^(+)-diffused region of (100) oriented silicon substrate by anodic reaction in 20 wt% HF solution. ZnO thin film was deposited on the porous silicon layer by RF magnetron sputtering and then pattern was defined by standard photolithography. Finally, porous silicon was etched away in 5 wt% NaOH solution. The fabricated ZnO microstructures have 20μm width, 40μm thickness and microstructure was cleanly formed on the cavity. Also, microstructure of arbitrary shape was fabricated.

        증편의 저장 중 조직 특성 변화

        This study was carried out to investigate the storage conditions and methods required for commercializaion of Jeung-Pyon. The storage characteristics of Jeung-Pyon were examined with Universal Testing Machine (UTM. Instron model 1000) for textural properties during storage of tinder the conditions such as sealing, nonsealing, and temperatures. The differences in storage characteristics on the different varieties and years of rices were not shown. When the Jeung-Pyon was lost it's quality as a commercial product, the measured value of UTM was increased as hardness 0.74㎏ to 1.0㎏, gumminess 0.23㎏ to 0.59㎏, chewiness 6㎏.mm to 18㎏.mm, but decreased in adhesiveness 0.65㎏.mm to 0.40㎏.mm, cohesiveness 0.61 to 0.34, springiness 41㎜ to 32㎜. The nonsealed Jeung-Pyon was lost it's quality for storing at room temperature because of the case-hardening after 2 days. In the case of sealed Jeung-Pyon, the case-hardening phenomena by the evaporation of moisture was not occured, therefore it was a significant factor for an extension in sealed Jeung-Pyon. The shelf-life of sealed Jeung-Pyon was 20 days and 5 days respectively during storage at -20℃ and 20℃ The sealed Jeung-Pyon stored at 5℃ was lost it's quality, in consideration of cold chain this temperature was suitable for retrogradation of starch. The Jeung-Pyon sealed with air and mosture proof packaging material stored at the accelerated condition as 92% R.H. and 35℃ lost it's quality within two or three days.

        두개내 발생한 지주막낭종 치험 2예

        The intracranial arachnoid cysts are benign lesions in nature which thin walled cysts lying in relation to or enclosed by the subarachnoid space, filled with clear fluid. They may be due to developmental defects of the brain or meninges and secondary to inflammation, vascular occlusion or trauma but etiology of a large percentage is not well understood. In general, locations are near primary fissure and cisterns of the cerebral cortex and cerebellum. The clinical features and courses are unusual. Preoperative diagnosis is unlikely to be made but treatment is followed by good result. We had experienced two cases of intracranial arachnoid cysts which occures in middle cranial fossa, and cerebral hemisphere. Pathologic diagnosis are arachnoid cysts.

        급성 자발성 척수경막외혈종 1예 보고 : Case Report

        We have reported a case of acute spontaneous spinal epidural hematoma in a make patient aged 79-year-old who had suddenly felt a strong pain in the right buttock and lower abdomen. Shortly after he noticed weakness in his legs and two hours later he was completely paraplegic. Operation was undertaken 13 hours after the onset of the illness. A laminectomy was mode from T11 to L1 and a massive epidural hematoma removed mainly from the right posterolateral aspect of the cord.

      • 암모니아 공정에서 CO₂ 고정의 최적화

        This study was investigated the effects of various system parameters on the absorption of carbon dioxide into absorption solution. An aqueous potassium carbonate solution was used as a chemical absorbent in order to figure out the effect of chemical reaction. For this purpose, the chemical analysis of potassium carbonate solution was performed. The changes of pressure, temperature, K₂CO₃solution flow/feed gas ratio and solution concentration in the absorber and the changes of pressure and temperature in the stripper were also analyzed. The analysis result shows that K₂CO₃ concentration in potassium carbonate solution was 99.6%. The optimum pressure was found to be 27.0㎏/㎠ and the optimum temperature was to be 68℃, the optimum concentration of potassium carbonate solution was to be 26.0wt% in the absorber. The CO₂ leakage decreased with the increment of the K₂CO₃ solution flow/feed gas ratio. But the H₂ leakage in the CO₂ product increased at or above the K₂CO₃ solution flow/feed gas ratio of 1.10. This H₂ leakage induced by the loss of ammonia production. The effects of the changes of the operation condition of the CO₂ stripper to the K₂CO₃ conversion are as follows. The K₂CO₃ conversion decreased as the pressure decreased. The K₂CO₃ conversion increased as the temperature increased. However, increasing the temperature without decreasing the pressure did not bring positive effect. The optimum pressure was found to be 0.45㎏/㎠.

        요추간 수핵탈출증 환자에 대한 방사선학적 고찰

        X-ray films of the lumbosacral spine are necessary in the evaluation of all patients who are considered to have lumbar disc disease. Several positive X-ray film findings are of possible significance, and although not in themselves diagnostic, they are compatible with, lumbar disc disease. Among patients treated and diagnosed by surgical operation for lumbar disc herniation from August, 1978 to February, 1981 at Korea University Hospital, 132 cases with their simple X-rays availuable for study were selected. Height of intervertebral disc space (Hurxthal method), spurrings, changes in facet joint, size of spinal canal (Johnes & Thomson method), lumbosacral angle (Ferguson method), congenital defect were studied and measured in simple films. Lumbar disc herniation was most frequent at L4-L5 intervertebral space (65.5%). The incidence of positive radiological findings were 85.6%. 1, Intervertebral disc space narrowing was found in 25%, 59.3% and 50% at L3-4, L4-5 and 2nd L5-S1 level respectively. 2. Peripheral osteophyte formations in the bodies of lumbar vertebrae were found in 44.7%. 3. Narrowing and/or sclerotic changes of facet joint were observed in 31.06%, subluxation in 14.39% and facet tropism in 5.3%. 4. The overall mean size of spinal canal at L4 vertebral level was 1 : 4.325 in male, 1 : 3.898 in female and at L5, 1 : 3.772 in female. Narrowed spinal canal in this series were found in 25.6%. at L4 and 17.2% at L5. 5. The overall mean lumbosacral angle %as 32.4 degree in male and 31.5 degree in female. Spondylolysis was observed in 4.54%. spondylolisthesis in 3.03%, lumbarization in 8.3% and sacralization in 1.51 %.

        사지의 급성동맥 색전증에 대한 응급동맥 색전제거술

        Acute arterial occlusion of the extremities is often a surgical emergency and is due mostly to arterial embolus. It has infrequently been reported in the emergency department. Cardiac embolism is most commonly the result of atrial fibrillation secondary to valvular heart disease followed by ischemic heart disease. The emergency arterial embolectomy by Fogarty balloon catheter works well when the cause of occlusion is cardiac embolus obstructing normal vessels in a patient with valvular heart disease. Recently we met some patients with acute critical ischemia of the extremities due to arterial emboli in our emergency department. On physical examination, they all had symptoms of 5"P"s(pain, pallor, pulselessness, paresthesia, paralysis). After emergency arterial embolect omy, immediate improvement was observed in all patients. They were discharged within 1 week. We report our experiences with the review of literatures.
