Background: Intermediate myasthenia syndrome(IMS) is thought to have clinical importance because it may cause sudden respiratory failure during the recovery phase of a cholinergic crisis of organophosphate poisoning. We designed this study to identify the prevalence, the inducing agent, clinical predictor, and the proposed treatment of IMS. Methods: Patients who had admitted with the diagnosis of acute organophosphate poisoning from 1992 to 1998 at two teaching hospitals were enrolled in this study. We selected the cases of IMS based on a review of medical records using modified He' s criteria. Results: Twelve(12) out of 110 patients with acute organophosphate poisoning were diagnosed for a prevalence at 10.9%. The drug inducing IMS were identified as dichlorvos, fenthion, EPN, methidathion, and phosphamidon. The occurrence of IMS was not related to either the initial treatment with atropine and pralidoxime, or the level of serum cholinesterase. Complications were pneumonia, sepsis, pancreatitis, and pseudomembranous colitis, etc. Eleven(11) patients were discharged without sequelae, and one patient was discharged as a hopeless case. Conclusion: This study suggests that IMS is not rare, so close observation is required to detect IMS in organophosphate-poisoning patients. Also, more studies are required to find predictors and treatments.

The tool geometry parameters and cutting process have complex relationships. Until now, various cutting test were needed to acquire optimal design of end mill for the purpose of high speed machining, due to the insufficient knowledge about cutting process in high speed machining. Using various tools with differentgeometry, relationships between tool geometry parameter (rake angle, clearance angle, length of cutter) and cutting process (cutting force, surface accuracy, surface roughness) have been studied. Acquired data can be used to design optimal tool for high speed machining

Inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) is an idiopathic disease of the alimentary tract including small and large intestine. Ulcerative colitis (UC) is one of the IBD, and its typical features are mucosal inflammation and loss of barrier function. Although the mechanisms for IBD induction and progression are not completely understood, studies using animal models of UC have a good benefit to understand the clue of inflammation-associated colorectal carcinogenesis. It is important to choose suitable animal model according to various project.

영어 발음 지도에 관해서는 크게 두 가지 접근 방법이 있다. 하나는 영어의 음소인 자음과 모음의 인식과 발음법을 익힌 후에 단어, 문장 수준으로 넘어가며 초분절 음소인 강세, 리듬, 억양 등을 숙달하는 것이다. 다른 하나는 반대로 초분절 음소부터 익힌다음 자음,모음의 기본 음소의 발음법을 익히는 것이다. 다시 말해서 후자는 언어의 의사 소통 기능에 더 초점을 맞추고 있는 것이다. 실제로, 영어의 구두 표현에 있어서 이러한 초분절 음소에 대한 소양이 없이는 의사 전달이 제대로 되지 않는다. 사전에 있는 단어의 자음과 모음의 발음이 대화 중의 문장 속에서는 강·약의 규칙적인 현상 즉 어떤 리듬 형태를 띠고 있기 때문에 이러한 영어 리듬 현상을 익히고 활용할 수 없다면 정상적인 의사소통이 이루어지기 어렵다. 특히 한국어와 같이 음절박자 언어에 익숙한 사람들은 강세박자 언어인 영어를 배울 때 모국어 식의 발음이 그대로 나타나 아주 어색한 발음이 되는 것이다. 본 논문에서는 원할한 영어 의사소통을 위해서 발음교육의 중심을 어디에 두어야 하는지와 영어의 강세와 리듬을 효과적으로 익히기 위해서 어떤 방법을 활용할 수 있는지에 대해서 탐색하고 실천적인 방안을 제시하는 데 그 목적이 있다.

Non-destructive test on the size and depth of cracks has been required for the safety evaluation of structures. Ultrasonic method based on laser techniques is one of the most popular non-destructive methods which overwhelm PZT based tests. In the present paper, ultrasonic was generated by high powered Q switching Nd:YAG pulse laser. Experiments were carried out using Fabry-Perot interferometer which was intensively discussed in the present study.

WDM-PON(Wavelength Division Multiplexer) was known as solution of ultimate FTTH(Fiber-To-The-Home) in big city and internet network. Optical module part among whole system is the most difficult technologically, it is getting into bottle-neck of development. Quality, all prices are many up to now assignments to be satisfied, it can be said that is early phase. In this treatise I wish to develop WDM-PON Bi-Di Ferrule polishing machine and a polishing technology that use ferule polishing horn in Bi-Di that is an existing technology.

Aflatoxin B₁ was known to have the strongest poisonous character among Aflatoxin compounds. To search the production of Aflatoxin B1 according to the change of temperature, relative humidity and incubation days, orange incubated with Aspergillus parasiticus KCCM 35078 was incubated at 20℃, 25℃, 30℃ at relative humidity 60%, 70%, 80% and for incubation time 3, 4, 5, 6, 7 days.. Production of Aflatoxin B₁ shows that the highest production appeared at 25℃ and its relative humidity 70%. The result that was quantitatively analyzed by using HPLC was 77.41ppm, and by using Fluoroscence detector was 87.87ppm. - Production of Aflatoxin B₁ shows that the lowest production appreared at 20℃ and its relative humidity 80%(HPLC), 60%(Fluoroscence detector). The result that was quantitatively analyzed by using HPLC was 4.47ppm, and by using Fluoroscence detector was 4.17ppm. The structure of Aflatoxin B₁ was identify with authentic sample by using instrumental analysis methods of GC/MS, ¹H-NMR, FT-IR respectively.
