        국어의 로마자 표기법과 실용성

        2000년 개정된 국어 로마자 표기법은 한국에 입국하는 외국인을 배려하기보다는 한국 사람들의 컴퓨터 사용 등 기술적 요인과 한국인의 정서를 더 고려한 흔적이 엿보인다. 그런데 어깻점이나 반달표 등 기술적인 걸림돌을 제거한 점은 잘한 것 같으나, 외국인의 이용편의는 별로 고려하지 않은 것이 흠이다. 한국 사람들이 한국 내에서 영문 표지나 이름을 굳이 읽을 필요가 없는 것이고 외국인들이야말로 한국 내에서 관광, 또는 생활하는데 아주 요긴하게 쓸 수 있기 때문이다. 완벽한 표기법이란 있을 수 없지만 새 표기법 역시 개선해야할 점이 많다. 문제점이나 개선점을 체계적으로 살펴보고 대안을 탐구하고 실용성 측면을 제고시키고자 하는 것이 본 논문의 목적이다. 국어의 로마자 새 표기법이 실용화되기 위해서는 꾸준한 홍보가 있어야 한다. 기존 표기법이 혼란 되었던 가장 큰 이유요 홍보 부족을 들 수 있다. 새 표기법이 중?고교 교육과정에 충분히 반영되도록 해야 할 것이다. 그리고 지속적 홍보를 유지해야 한다. 개정의 당위성과 개정 내용을 담은 다양한 홍보 책자를 제작하여 내?외국인에게 충분히 배포할 필요가 있다. 공항, 관광지 등 외국인의 왕래가 잦은 곳을 대상으로 체계적이고 지속적인 홍보가 있어야 한다. 국가 간 공식 협조 요청을 통해서 외국의 주요 기관에 개정 내용을 적극 홍보에 나서야 한국 문화의 소개 등 실용성을 높일 수 있다. This paper examines the new Korean Romanization system. These basic principles for transcription in the previous Romanization system are explored. The three old principles are: First, Romanization is based on standard Korean pronunciation. Second, no symbols except Roman letters are used. Third, Romanization follows the principle of one letter (or set of letters) per phoneme. Among these three principles, the third one is not included in the new Romanization system. This means the new system may introduce a set of letters per phoneme whenever necessary. Long vowels are not marked in transcription as before. These vowel marks are frequently misused or misunderstood when read by foreigners. The most innovative change from the previous Romanization system is the removing or deleting of apostrophes and other diacritical marks in order to facilities speedy word processing. The new Romanization system includes some problems that require appropriate consideration. Some recommendations from specialists are presented in order to solve the problems associated with the new system.

        초등영어교육에 있어서의 듣기지도

        초등학교에서의 듣기 학습은 단순히 소리만을 듣고 인지하며 이해하는 활동보다는 그 반 응을 행동으로 나타낼 수 있는 활동이 효과적이다. 아직 말하기 능력이 발달되지 않은 상 태에서 듣기에 대한 언어적 반응을 요구하게 되면 영어 학습에 부담감을 느껴 흥미를 잃기 가 쉽다. 아이가 말을 배우는 과정에서도 말하기 이전의 침묵 기간이 결코 침묵하고 있는 기간이 아니라 고도의 정신 작용이 일어나고 그 결과가 행동으로 나타나듯이 영어를 배우 는 초등학교 어린이에게도 행동적 반응과 정신작용을 요하는 많은 듣기 활동을 제공해야 할 것이다. 따라서 다양한 유형으로 효과적인 듣기 학습이 이루어지도록 하는 것이 중요하 다. 그런데 초등학교 5, 6학년 영어교과서에 나타난 듣기 활동은 그 유형이 별로 다양하지 못하다. 자신감을 심어주고 흥미를 줄 수 있는 듣기 활동을 다양하게 수준별로 제시할 필 요가 있고 본 논문에서는 이러한 취지에 맞게 초등영어 듣기지도 활동들을 체계적으로 활 용할 수 있는 방안들을 구체적으로 제시하였다.

        치조열에서 재 시행한 골이식의 분석

        Purpose: The most widely accepted protocol for alveolar cleft reconstruction is to repair it during the mixed dentition stage. There were lower resorption rate (about 88%) at this stage. However we found some cases that need repeated bone grafting. Therefore we sought to analyze the cause of repeated alveolar bone grafting in connection with other factors. Methods: From January 2000 to January 2006, thirty-nine secondary alveolar bone grafts with iliac crest spongiosa were carried out. In 39 patients, 5 patients who had significant bone graft resorption received repeated alveolar bone graft. In all the cases, the causes of repeated bone grafts were dental root exposure(angulation), and the deficiency of the bony support for lateral incisor or canine eruption. In 3 cases, there was deficiency of the alveolar bone at the cleft side. There was the need of repeated bone grafts for orthodontic treatment in 2 cases and for application of dental implants in 1 case. Results: During the follow-up period, the clinical and radiologic examinations showed that repeated alveolar bone grafts were maintained successfully without any complications. The volume of the repeated bone graft was sufficient for orthodontic treatment and implantation. Conclusion: The essential conditions for successful alveolar bone grafting includes the status of cleft sided teeth, further treatment and planed schedule, as well as canine eruption. Alveolar bone grafting has to be performed with difference of each case in mind.

      • 국민학교 영어교육이 중·고등학교 영어 학습에 미치는 영향 : Research for Effective teaching Methods of Primary School English 효율적인 국민학교 영어지도 방안

        The purpose of this study is to find out how English language teaching at primary school has an effect on English education at middle school and high school. One hundred and fifty-six middle school students and 83 high school students were surveyed who had learned English at primary school. It is shown that their achievement in the English language has been leveled up in a considerable degree, compared with those who did not learn English at primary school. Children from an early age need to be exposed to an understanding of foreign cultures so that they grow up tolerant and sympathetic to others. The brain at young age is more adaptable before puberty than after. Acquisition of languages is possible without self-consciousness at an early age. Children have fewer negative attitudes to foreign languages and cultures than adults, and consequently they are better motivated than adults. Children's language learning is more closely integrated with real communication because it depends more on the immediate physical environment than does adult language. Children devote vast quantities of time to language learning, compared with adults, and they are better because they do more of it. Teachers of primary school English need the confidence in their ability to teach and use the target language. It is necessary to train foreign language competence closely coordinated with teaching methodology for this level. Teachers also need competence in primary teaching methodology. The skills necessary for teaching at this level are very different from those needed elsewhere in the education system. The role of stroy, dance, role-play, puppet activity, model-making, etc. need to be emphasized. Experienced primary teachers will already be familiar with these procedures, but EFL teachers who wish to move from other levels to work with young children will have to reorientate their teaching expectations. For these reasons, the training of teachers for primary English is most effective and desirable in National University of Education that takes charge of producing and training primary school teachers.

        장애인 복지정책의 현황과 방향

        At the end of 2009, the number of registered disabled was 2,430,000 in South Korea. Of them, 90% originated from acquired causes such as diseases or accidents. Although disabilities are everyday problems that can be met by anybody, disabilities had been a problem that people tried to conceal. However, social recognition of the disabled has been developing with changes in the social environment. The government of the Republic of Korea has upgraded the policy on disabilities from benefaction to social security. The Korean government tries to support a variety of welfare systems for the disabled. Specifically, jobs for the disabled are going to increase from 3,400 positions in 2010 to 10,300 in 2011. The pension system for the disabled, introduced in July 2010, will be continuously supplemented. If a personal care assistance system for the disabled is introduced beginning in October 2011, the number of supporting personnel who will visit and provide nursing services to the disabled will increase from 30,000 at present to 50,000 at the end of 2011. Besides the above welfare system for the disabled, people should participate in the prohibition of discrimination against the disabled and the improvement of social recognition to the disabled. After that, social participation by the disabled will be expanded so that an integrated society based on the rights of the disabled can be realized in Korea.

      • Industrial safety risk analysis using spatial analysis

        Korea`s industrial death rate is 13 percent in 2015. It’s five times higher than the OECD average. Economic losses due to industrial accidents continue to grow, reaching 19 trillion won in natural disaster losses equivalent to 1.1 trillion won, requiring fundamental changes in industrial safety levels. In this study, We classified the risk of accidents in industrial complex of Ulju-gun using spacial analysis and decision tree methodologies. We draw the main factors that affect the accident and developed the four risk category(alert, hazard, caution, and attention). It is judged to be available in different policy decisions for different types, such as those used by different types of risk ratings, targeted education, and technical support.
