Background/Aims: Hepatolithiasis or primary intrahepatic stones may be accompanied later by intrahepatic cholangiocarcinoma. This cancerous lesion is frequently associated with atypical hyperplastic epithelium that was suspected of being precancerous. To investigate the Ki-ras or p53 mutation may play a role in carcinogenesis, and to determine whether atypical hyperplastic epithelium may be precancerous, this study was performed in intrahepatic cholangiocarcinomas associated with hepatolithiasis. Methods: We examined 12 patients with intrahepatic cholangiocarcinomas associated with hepatolithiasis. Ki-ras point mutations were assessed by direct DNA sequencing. Expressions of p53 protein were immunohistochemically assessed. The overexpression of p53 and point mutation of Ki-ras were examined in normal, hyperplastic, atypical hyperplastic, and can- cerous tissues separately. Results: The expressions of p53 protein were detected in 4 (33%) of 12 cholangiocarcinomas and Ki-ras point mutations at codon 12 were found in 2 (17%) of 12 cholangiocarcinomas. In those two carcinoma cases which contained the mutant sequence of Ki-ras, the same point mutation from wild type GGT (glycine) to GAT (aspartic acid) was. found in the associated atypical hyperplastic epithelium. However, none of the normal and hyperplastic epithelium harbored Ki-ras or p53 mutations. Conclusions: The overexpression of p53 may play a part in the carcinogenesis of some intrahepatic cholangiocarcinomas associated with hepatolithiasis, whereas the role of Ki-ras mutations in those cases is dubious. However, Ki-ras point mutation at codon 12 may be responsible for either cancer or atypical hyperplastic epithelium associated with hepatolithiasis in certain cases, suggesting atypical hyperplastic epithelium may give rise to carcinoma.

The tuber of kantenabtrennung, schmorl and rear oxhorn dissociation are one of the these barrier process. We assume that the fracture of apophysis by overusing is the main cause of these barriers.

Survey of the algal flora of Jeju Island

The author intends to reports on the algal flora and communities on Jeju Island. which was carried out the periods of April, 1971 to December, 1975. The total investigatej algae are 212 species of marine algae. Of these, 3 species are beling to Cyanophyta, 36 species to Chlorophyta, 50 species to Phaeophyta, and the rest 123 to the Rhodophyta. From the standpoint of the phytosciological distribution, Jeju Island belong to Same category of Tsushima Island with the central part of Japan, Microdiciyon japonicum, Merislocheca pzpilosa, Actinotrichia fragllis etc. presented in Jeju Island for temper-ate elements. Algal coverage was observed by the author in 1974.

소라, Turbo cornutus SOLANER의 서식장 환경과 집단성장에 관하여

Studies on the growth of topshell which had tagging liberated and ecological survey were taken from the three culturing topshell farms of the Seogwipo coast from June to December, 1977. Three culturing topshell farms are Supseom, Bomokri and Beophwanri coast. The culturing topshell farms are shallow with the mean depth 5~8m, and vertical changes of water temperature and specific gravity in each arears were not appeared. The water temperature of Supseom area was lower than the other areas. The compositions of submarine geological type in Supseom, Bomokri and Beoph-wanri area were B (Hole type) and C (crevice type) type, A (Rock type) type, and C and D (Sand type) type respectively. The Current speeds of each culturing farm area were in the range of 1~20cm/sec, and the current of Beophwanri culturing farm area was slower than the other areas. The absorption "coefficient of Seogwipo coastal water was in the range of 0.218-0.329 and the mean was 0.283. Fifty species of marine algae were identified. Major algal group of each culturing farms were Sargassun sp., Ecklonia, cava, Chladophora sp., calcareous algae. Particularly. Beophwanri culturing farm was abundant in Saragassun sp. Of the three culturing topshell farms increment in growth of topshell were showed rapid growth from June to October and noted that increment in growth of Bomokri was the highest. During the tagging liberated period , the number of spines on newly formed parts of shell was in the range of 0~5 spines. The creeping distance was 5~25m in each culturing topshell farm in all.

근력 트레이닝에서의 주기구조에 관한 연구

The purpose of this study was to investigate the influence of length of training cycle("bulk-up type" and "power-up type") on the development of muscle cross-sectional area, muscle strength, anaerobic power and anaerobic endurance. Ten male college stedents were divided into a long term group(n=5) and a short term group(n=5). Both groups performed squat, lunge walk and leg curl exercise twice a week for 8 weeks, with the long term group performing 4 weeks of bulk-up type training followed by 4 weeks of power-up type training and the short term group performing alternating 2 week periods of bulk-up type and power-up type training. A comparison between the long term group and the short term group after eight weeks showed: (1) There was no difference between groups in CSA. (2) The long term group improvee in muscle strength at low speeds. (3) The short term group improved in muscle strength at high speed. (4) The long term group showed greater improvement in anaerobic endurance.

This study intends to offer the basic data by clarifying the relation between the self-concept of sport and leisure studies members' and the life satisfaction so that it can develop the social sports activities, spread them and improve the life quality through the righteous and useful leisure. In addition, the sound sport activities can be activated and the clubs can be expanded and finally contribute to improvement of the life quality, self- actualization, happiness, maintaining and improving heath. The sport club members in Daejeon have been set as a population and then the sample has been selected by a group sampling and a random sampling. In this study, total 360 sheets of questionnaire have been collected and 15 sheets have been eliminated because of their lack of confidence. Available 345 sheets have been inputted one by one, and the data processed by SPSS 14.0 for the analysis purpose. The specific conclusion is as follows. The self-concept of social sport club members and life satisfaction 1) The general, social, emotional and physical self- concept of members has a meaningful effect on the past life satisfaction. 2) The general, social, emotional and physical self- concept of members has a meaningful effect on the present satisfaction 3) The general, familial, emotional and physical self- concept of members has a meaningful effect on the future satisfaction.

흑두로 제조한 청국에서 분리된 Bacillus subtillus BB-1으로부터 혈전용해효소 유전자 크로닝 및 특성규명

A bacterium producing five fibrinolytic isozymes was isolated from black bean chung kuk. The bacterium was identified as Bacillus subtilis BB-1 by 16s rDNA sequence homology search. A gene out of five fibrinolytic genes in the Bacillus subtilis BB-1 was cloned by shot-gun method. A Cla ⅠDNA fragment of B. subtilis BB-1 chromosome was cloned in to pBluescript ⅡSK(-) and showed the fibrinolytic activity to bacterial cells. The Cla ⅠDNA fragment was sequenced and the sequences did not show homology with gene for protease or fibrinolytic enzyme genes in other organisms. The Cla ⅠDNA fragment was reduced to 2,142 bp by activity-guided PCR cloning method. The optimum pH and temperature of the enzyme were 5.0 and 35℃, respectively. Substrate specificity of the fibrinolytic enzyme was detected in skim milk, casein, gelatin and blood agar plates. The activity of the enzyme was not detected with these substrates. Taken together, this enzyme is a new fibrinolytic enzyme and may be used to prevent thrombosis and arteriosclerosis.

Although D(-)-α-aminobenzyl penicillin(ampicillin) is relatively stable to acid it is absorbed inefficiently by the oral route as indicated, e.g., by the fact that much higher blood levels and urinary recovery are attained after parenteral than after oral administratration. Of a series of acyloxymethyl esters of ampicillin which are more completely absorbed than the parent compound, the hydrochloride salt of pivampicillin was selected for extended studies. Comparative studies of pivampicillin and smpicillin in 20 healthy rabbits revealed that pivampicillin is better absorbed from the gastro-intestinal tract than ampicillin, as reflected in considerably higher peak ampicillin concentration in blood.

분리막 시스템을 이용한 정수공정의 연구

황룡강을 수원으로 하는 상수원수와 침전상징수의 정수를 위하여 MF(정밀여과)공정을 적용하였다. 현장에서의 실험결과는 낮은 운전압력일수록 높은 탁도 제거율을 보였으며, 상징수의 탁도는 2~4 NTU로서 MF처리시 1kg/㎠에서는 0.3~0.4 NTU로 2kg/㎠에서는 0.4~0.5 NTU로 감소되었다. 이들 유출탁도는 음용수 기준인 1.1 NTU를 민족 할 정도이었다. 원수는 15~20 NTU의 높은 탁도로서 원수를 직접 MF처리할 경우, 유출수는 1kg/㎠에서 1.9~4.8 NTU로 2kg/㎠ 에서 2.1~4.9 NTU로 나타났다. 이들 탁도는 처리수 기준을 초과하였으므로, 기준을 만족하기 위해서는 다단계의 MF 처리가 권장된다. 막 의 역세척 소요시간은 약 6분이 적합하였다. MF처리공정은 재래식 모래여과기와 비교할 때 작은 소요부지 면적, 막의 내구성과 수명, 약품비등에서 수처리에 효과적임을 보여주었다. MF(Micro Filtration) process was applied to the treatment of raw water and clarified water in water treatment plant sourced from the Hwangryong river. As results of experiments and field study the lower the operating pressure, the higher the turbidity removed. Turbidity of clarified water were reduced from 2~4 to 0.3~0.4 NTU at 1kg/㎠ and 0.4~0.5 NTU at 2kg/㎠ by MF process. These effluent turbidities were acceptable to the drinking water standard of 1.1 NTU. For the raw water of high turbidity with 15~20 NTU the effluents were 1.9~4.8 NTU at 1kg/㎠ and 2.1~4.9 NTU at 2kg/㎠. These turbidities exceeded the standard value of treated water. To meet the standard, multistage operations were executed with the raw water and its turbidity decreased to 0.1 NTU. The proper time for backwashing of the unit was about 6 minutes. Compared with a traditional sand filter, MF process showed the effectiveness of Water treatment due to small area, long life spans and less chericals required.
